As of 3/24/22, the United States exceeds 1 million total COVID-19 deaths a grim milestone as per Worldometer data. The pandemic rages on for 26 months starting January 2020 in America. That is a lot of dead bodies. Don McLean sees 'Satin laughing with delight'. Everyone has at least one loved one that has passed-on due to China Virus.
Johns-Hopkins data is at 974K dead Americans and the CDC is at 971K deaths. The IHME is at 970K American deaths. At the current pace of about 700 covid deaths per day in the US, these data sets will play catch-up and cross 1 million over the next month or two.
The US could not have two worse managers for a once in a century pandemic than King Donnie, the orange-headed bloviating carnival clown, and Sleepy Joe, the frail confused Alzheimer's patient. 436K Americans die when President Trump was in office and 566K are dead thus far during President Biden's term.
The United States is hit with 6 outbreak waves thus far over the last 2 years. Wave 3 was the horror from November 2020 through February 2021 (as the US presidency changed) then followed by the mild wave 4 which should have marked the end to the pandemic. However, as often stated, "the pandemic is not over until it is over everywhere." So wave 5 hit, carrying the Delta Variant, then it is followed-up by the Omicron Variant wave 6. America waits and watches over the coming days to see if the BA2 Omicron Subvariant creates a new wave 7, or not.
For the latest COVID-19 developments and the tracking of BA2 in the US, reference Coronavirus Chronology Article 71 and Article 72 is slated for publication on Saturday, 3/26/22.
