Easter is in the rearview mirror but a few brown covid eggs
are left behind in the basket. The pandemic rages on in China and Taiwan. There
is concern with South Africa’s new wave 5 outbreak. The US is walking on covid
eggshells waiting and watching wave 7 develop.
On the positive side in America, herd immunity is in play
with about 95% of the population either protected by vaccination or by natural
antibodies from a prior COVID-19 infection. This high level of protection may
tamp down any negative impact from the current wave 7.
Compare the US pandemic position to red China that has two
junk vaccines and a population that has been shielded from coronavirus so
natural immunity does not exist. It is night and day. China is where the United
States was in 2020.
Shanghai is a China Virus nightmare. Cases are at 20K per
day but numbers are far higher. Things are getting ugly with Chinese folks sick
of the never-ending lockdown. Steel fences are installed around apartment
buildings in Shanghai and guards stationed 24/7 to make sure residents do not
leave their jail cells, er apartments. Chinese folks fear the lockdowns more
than they fear coronavirus (the cure is worse than the disease).
The CCP is having difficulty keeping up with its censorship
against the Chinese people. Dirtbag Dictator Xi will lose control if the
uprisings against lockdowns turn into riots. Interestingly, the prior Chinese
dynasties collapsed after food scarcity and inflation that leads to social
unrest, riots and a bloody overthrow of the government.
Illustrating China’s absurdity with handling the pandemic, the
CCP has banned the first line of the national anthem “March of the Volunteers”that sings, “Rise up, people who don’t want to be slaves.” Dictator Xi does not
want people singing such blasphemy in his communist-controlled state for fear
the lyric may encourage social unrest and riots due to the lockdowns.
12 of 16 districts in Beijing are ongoing daily mass
testing. People see what is happening in Shanghai so the store shelves are
emptying. Beijing folks are stocking up on food, water, medicine and personal
hygiene products. Beijing is a city of about 22 million people and lockdowns
are likely coming. China is a mess. Coronavirus returns to the nation from
which it was spawned.
The world’s daily cases chart is shown above. The 7-day MA
for new cases drops to 651K cases per day not seen since mid-December 4 months
ago. The planet is on the mend from COVID-19 sans China, Taiwan, Canada, US and
a few other nations. Unfortunately, the moving average was at 650K cases per
day for the world the day before so a more gradual sideways to sideways down
path is at play going forward.
Taiwan’s daily cases chart is shown above and it has gone
parabolic. Taiwan reports 5.2K daily new cases yesterday the highest ever and
the 7-day MA is vertical at 3.7K cases per day. On the active cases chart on
Worldometer, Taiwan is at 37K active China Virus cases which is 5 times the 7.5K
active cases peak of the pandemic in June 2021.
Taiwan hospitals and clinics are busy. The United States needs to help
our Taiwanese friends every way possible.
South Africa’s daily cases chart is shown above. South
Africa is in wave 5, or the fifth surge as some of the scientists call it, going
parabolic, with the 7-day MA at 3.3K cases per day. 2K cases are reported for
yesterday, Monday, 4/25/22. There were 4.6K cases last Friday, 4/22/22.
Patterns tend to repeat so a big wave 5 may be on tap.
The daily cases this week will tell the tale forward for
South Africa and perhaps wave 5 will fizzle-out bucking the trend of the 4
prior waves. Since Friday is the peak of wave 5 thus far at 4.6K cases, the
cases on Friday, 4/29/22 are key. If above 4.6K, wave 5 is going to expand and
spank South Africa similar to other waves. If the Friday cases are below 4.6K,
wave 5 will be bluster and turn out to be a small bump.
Europe is on the mend from the BA2 Omicron Subvariant little
sister wave. The BA2 bug spreads south from Denmark and Germany into
Netherlands and Belgium and then France, Italy and Malta, as well as a few
other nations such as Switzerland and Austria. All are on the mend except the
boot-shaped nation that is getting kicked with a double BA2 wave.
Italy’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The dramatic
reversal back to the upside with daily new cases is a sad sight. The 7-day MA
is rising to 62K cases per day. Should we blame the Pope?
The first masses by Pope Francis at St Peter’s Square since
the pandemic started are Palm Sunday, 4/10/22, and Easter Sunday, 4/17/22. That
big spike to 100K cases on 4/20/22 occurs 10 days after Palm Sunday and 3 days
after Easter. Celebrations and parties have been ongoing for the last couple
weeks. 100’s of thousands of people attended the Pope’s masses and associated celebrations that were
superspreader events as the chart displays with BA2 round deux in progress.
The positive side is that cases will likely roll over
quickly again in the days ahead putting BA2 round 2 to rest. Italy should
regain the path lower. 145 Italians are dying per day from COVID-19 the highest
in a month. Interestingly, France is not experiencing a BA2 round 2 despite the
campaign rallies and events leading to President Macron’s reelection win 2 days
ago.
Malta is on the mend with lower daily and active cases
bolstering the conclusion that the surge in Italy’s cases is due to the Vatican
masses and celebrations. Cases in Malta and France would be reversing higher
like Italy if it had to do with the virus but they are not; the rise in cases
over the last week is Italy-specific and Pope Francis brings a superspreader to
the table. Bless His Soul.
Canada’s daily cases chart is shown above. Canada cases
continues sideways at 9K to 10K cases per day for the last 3 weeks. The Canuck
infections migrate south across the border into New York, Vermont, New
Hampshire and Maine.
Canada’s BA2 wave displays a peak in cases at 19.6K on
4/21/22, last Thursday, and another peak at 19.2K cases a week earlier on
4/14/22. Thus, this Thursday’s cases, 4/28/22, dictate the path forward for
Canada’s outbreak. If cases come in under 19.6K, conditions will improve and
blue skies and rainbows will be coming soon. If daily new cases are above
19.6K, actually for any day this week, Canada will sink further into the covid
quagmire of darkness and despair.
The US daily cases chart is shown above. America reports 35K
daily new cases for Monday a surprisingly low number. It hints that the Easter,
Passover, Ramadan and springtime activities such as concerts did not create
superspreader events. Why? Pope Francis’s masses created a superspreader in
Italy. Perhaps it is because the US is at about 95% herd immunity as mentioned
above?
The US 7-day MA for daily new cases was 45.1K cases per day
on 4/22/22, last Friday, but 44.6K cases per day now. The 7-day MA is moving
sideways which is far better than a parabolic spike higher. The 3-day MA is
also shown on the chart and if you get out a magnifying glass it may actually
be distinguishable. Nonetheless, the 3-day MA was at 35K cases on 4/18/22 and
then 34K cases on 4/25/22 printing a lower low; good news.
An uptrend in cases is verified by the jaggy 3-day MA making
higher highs and higher lows. Conversely, a downtrend in cases is proven by the
3-day MA printing lower highs and lower lows. The US 3-day MA for daily cases
has been printing higher highs and higher lows but the lower low that just
occurred yesterday is hopeful news that wave 7 will be a pig in a poke.
The 3-day MA makes a higher high at 55.6K cases on 4/22/22,
last Friday. A new high will print for the 3-day MA probably Thursday or Friday
and a lower high (below 55.6K cases for the 3-day MA) would be fantastic news
since the moving average is starting to string together lower lows and lower
highs. A higher high would be disastrous hinting that wave 7 is gathering
upside steam.
As a side note, the CDC is kicking off its new data center.
Hopefully, the new approach will show respect for technical analysis which is
always smacked around like a hockey puck with plenty of naysayers. Technical
analysis detractors call charting a voodoo science or liken it to astrology.
Those are people that lost money in the stock market because they did not
listen to the charts.
One of the key goals of the new CDC data center should be
developing a rule to identify pandemic waves. The first 3 US waves were easy to
identify but after that the story gets blurry. Some ignored wave 4 and instead
called the delta wave 5 wave 4. Confusion results ever since to the point that
talking heads do not attach numbers to the waves any more.
The current wave 7 shows about 19 days of consecutive upside
in the 7-day MA for daily new cases from 4/3/22 through 4/22/22. Wave 4 began
with about 18 consecutive days of upside with the 7-day MA. The CDC should
consider a rule that a wave is named if the 7-day MA of daily new cases runs
higher for 15 consecutive days (or 18 or 12 the data would have to be analyzed
in detail to find the sweet spot that would have identified all 7 US waves).
Also, drawing from experience, there may be a 1-day pull
back in the series so there can be an allowance such as 14 out of 15 days and
so forth. There are lots of possibilities and that is why the chart technicians
are paid the big bucks. All the data has to be analyzed to Hades and back to
find the perfect nugget.
If this wave identification rule was in place that a wave is
numbered if the 7-day MA for daily cases rises every day for 15 consecutive
days (or whatever number of days), everyone in the US would be on the same page
that America is in wave 7 right now and pundits would feel comfortable
referring to the different wave numbers each had a different personality.
Wave 7 is behaving surprisingly because a sharper spike higher
would have been the safe bet and expectation. Instead, cases are favoring a
sideways posture. Do not get your hopes up, however, since the case numbers for
today through Friday are needed to provide the picture forward.
There is reason to hope for the US and the high levels of
protection offered by vaccinations and natural immunity may be just what the
doctor ordered. Herd immunity may save America from wave 7.
The US active cases chart is shown above. US active cases
were 1.217 million on Saturday the most for the new BA2 wave 7 so far.
Interestingly, US active cases drop to 1.215 million on Sunday and 1.208
million active cases on Monday. Wave 7 for active cases is starting to favor a
sideways path but the wave is young.
The US daily new deaths chart is shown above. The 7-day MA
for US deaths is at 292 deaths per day a 2-handle. The treatments and therapies
for the unvaccinated folks, such as Paxlovid pills and monoclonal antibody
infusions, are becoming more available so the death count moves lower.
There is no reason to celebrate until the death rate drops
below 245 souls per day because that would take out last July’s lows and
produce the lowest death rate of the pandemic since it started. The Whitehouse
and CDC pledge to promote the Test-to-Treat program at local pharmacies and
other locations. The program is off to a sluggish start after President Biden
announced the initiative during the State of the Union speech. To many
unvaccinated folks died needlessly since December.
The treatments and therapies that can save unvaccinated
people’s lives were not available in sufficient quantities. In addition, both doctors
and patients are not educated into what treatments are available. Worse, these proven
effective therapies must be given within days of a positive covid test or
symptoms. Biden is too busy with his vaccine only strategy.
What hope did many people have when they tested positive for
China Flu and did not know a treatment existed that could help them, nor their
doctor, and if they did, it would be hard to get the treatment quickly. It is
another major failing of the pandemic. Trump and Biden are the Frick and Frackof the pandemic.
The Whitehouse announced yesterday that rationing of the
Pfizer Paxlovid pills is no longer required as inventory is available in all
states currently. Better late than never. A blurb comes across the radio saying
the Paxlovid pills must be started within 5 days of the onset of symptoms. It
was 8 days a couple months ago.
Surely, the Whitehouse, Biden and CDC are not shortening the
time availability of the Paxlovid treatment as a means of saying the oral pills
are widely available? It takes a long time, many weeks, to produce Paxlovid; it
is not a simple process and things can go awry. No doubt the poor white coat
lab technicians at Pfizer are working under duress trying to grow cultures with
a gun to their heads. At least they will make a lot of money working overtime
making Paxlovid; if they do not lose their mind first. It would not be cool if the
Biden administration, solely for the purpose of a political narrative, says
Paxlovid is available but in part because the window for usage is shortened.
The death numbers going forward will tell the tale. Get your

Take this information to your doctor and immediately receive
treatment. Time is of the essence. Every hour counts so if you test positive
you must drop everything and pursue treatment options without delay. If a loved
one is disabled or difficult to move, time becomes even more important and
there are medical folks that will come to the house to provide treatment. You
have to be proactive if you become sick especially if you are fat and/or old.
New York’s daily cases chart is shown above. New York
reports 8.1K daily new cases yesterday with the 7-day MA above 6.5K cases per
day climbing higher. New York is the poster boy for the BA2 Omicron Subvariant
wave in the United States. Other states will likely mimic New York’s chart
pattern.
It is good news that the daily cases ae rising in a sideways
to sideways higher posture rather than a parabolic spike. Fingers are crossed
that the BA2 wave will b e a minor bump. Canada’s infections move south into
New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. The CDC Community Transmission map
notes the progress of the infections. The subvariant and mutations BA212 and
B12121 migrate from Ottawa and Montreal into the United States filtering south.
New York is the first test case to see how the BA2 Omicron
Variant behaves when facing a population that is highly vaccinated and/or
protected by natural antibodies. New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island,
Vermont, New Hampshire, Illinois, Indiana, Florida and several other states are
following close behind New York. The US state list below identifies the worst
states leading the BA2 waves in America.
New Hampshire’s daily new cases chart is shown above. New
Hampshire reports 414 cases yesterday the most for the current BA2 wave with
the 7-day MA up to 322 cases per day and rising. The numbers are small, like
Vermont which is the same pattern, but nonetheless illustrate the rising BA2
wave. New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and to some extent Maine are smacked
with the BA2, BA212 and BA2121 subvariants and mutations so who knows what is
in that covid soup.
Florida’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The 7-day MA
for daily new cases is up to 3.3K cases per day and rising. The new BA2 wave is
underway for Florida. The 7-day MA bottomed in mid-March so Florida COVID-19
cases are rising for the last 5 weeks in the Sunshine State. Old folks sitting
at card tables or at the bingo hall are looking at each other wondering who has
the virus.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 82.7 million. India is next with 43.1 million total virus cases.
Brazil, France, Germany, UK, Russia, South Korea, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Vietnam,
Argentina, Netherlands and Japan round out the top 15 worst nations. These
ranking have been steady for 3 weeks.
COVID-19 has infected 510 million people worldwide. In only
2 years, a spec on a Wuhan Lab Petri dish, so small that it cannot be seen by
the naked eye, infects 510 million humans in every corner of the Earth. Remarkable.
Jaw-dropping. Intense. Scary. China owes reparations to the world for their
crime against humanity.
6.25 million people on Earth are dead from the China Flu a
grim statistic. 463 million global citizens have recovered from the virus. 91% (463/510)
of the people that become infected with COVID-19 recover in a reasonable time
frame. This percentage had been at 90% to 92% for many months, and then dropped
to 80% now rebounding back to 91% over the last couple months. The recovery rate
has recovered.
Worldwide, 1.2% (6.25/510) of the people that are infected
with covid die; 1 in 82. This number sat at 2.1%-2.2% for many months but
trends lower for the last 4 months to 1.2%. The vaccinations and natural
immunities are helping to lower the world’s death rate albeit by small increments.
6.7% (510/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 15 people on earth. This
was 1 in every 24 people about 15 weeks ago and 1 in 18 about 7 weeks ago. This
behavior (a fast rate lower) verifies the contagiousness of the Omicron variant.
0.08% of the world’s population (6.25/7670) died from the
pandemic; 1 in every 1,227 people on earth died from China Virus.
In the United States, 82.7 million people are infected with covid.
1.019 million Americans are dead. 80.5 million Americans have recovered from coronavirus.
This equates to 97% (80.5/82.7) of US citizens recovering after becoming
infected with COVID-19. This number is a dramatic improvement from the 61% to
84% range that it has always honored. Worldometer adjusted the data creating
the shift so perhaps people with long covid are not counted.
Worldometer may have changed the way the active cases and
recovered cases are tallied. The recovered cases include the patients that
recover from COVID-19 and those that are discharged, however, folks may have long-covid.
For now, this data has to go into the suspect camp. The world’s recovery
percentage is at 90% so the US should be comparable.
In the US, 1.2% (1/82.7) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. This number was sticky at 1.6% to 1.8% for many months but has sagged to
1.2% over the last 6 months. 1 in every 83 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus
die. 0.3% (1/330) of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in every 330 Americans
over the last 2 years.
25% (82.7/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid; 1 in every 4 Americans. The minority
communities are impacted disproportionately. The 25% that now have natural
immunities solidly contribute towards herd immunity. The number of people with natural
immunity are likely far higher than reported probably double the 25% (half of
the country or more).
Medical authorities say one-half of Americans may have had
COVID-19 (most cases are asymptomatic). Many Americans had covid at home and
never saw a doctor or reported the illness, and they have some level of natural
antibody protection.
The United States has 16% (82.7/510) of the COVID-19 cases
in the world. 1 in 6 people that become infected with covid on planet earth are
Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago, but not so
much in recent weeks and months. This percentage was 22% about one year ago so
it is flatlining for a long time.
The US accounts for 16% (1/6.25) of the China Flu deaths in
the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are Americans.
10 months ago, it was 1 in 5. The numbers are stalled at the same level for the
last few months.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active
cases chart will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases chart is the
‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and strain on the
medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases chart rolls over
forming the bell shape, the virus is being defeated and healthcare workers can
breathe easier.
The Keystone Model uses the peak in the daily new cases to
forecast the peak and flattening of the active cases curve. The ‘flattening of
the curve’ only pertains to the active cases chart. For communist nations where
the populations must do what they are told or they receive a bullet in their
heads (China), and for smaller authoritarian nations (Eastern European
countries, Africa and Middle East nations), and many Asian nations where
citizens follow government rules without questioning authority (South Korea,
Japan, Singapore, Australia), the active cases curve will peak, on average, 11
days after the peak in daily new cases.
For the Western countries, such as the US and European
nations, the so-called free societies, the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 28 days after the peak in new cases. It takes about 2 weeks longer for
a free society to tamp down a virus wave than a communist or authoritarian
state because lockdowns are not strictly followed or enforced.
All projections below for countries and the US states
continue to use the 11 and 28-day periods for forecasting for consistency. When
the peak in daily new cases occurs, if a subsequent day is within 8% of that
peak top, it is identified as the peak in daily new cases day in reference to
the Keystone Model.
The peak in the daily new cases is easily seen on the bar
charts provided by Worldometer, the CDC and Johns-Hopkins. The daily new cases
bar charts are shown on television news channels with a 7-day moving average
(MA) line which is a smoothing mechanism that identifies the trend.
An update for The Keystone Model is provided since another
10-day period passes and more data and information become available to push the
China Virus story forward. The Coronavirus Chronology identifies the real-time

superior for forecasting since it is updated more reliably in real-time.
The countries with rising active cases charts are
highlighted below with the worst nations at the bottom. The peaks in daily new
cases are shown and the projected peaks for active cases are based on the
Keystone Model. The peak and flattening of the active cases curves are
extremely important since it represents the maximum stress on healthcare
workers and the medical systems.
It will take longer for the active cases charts to roll over
to form the bell shape for the troubled nations at the bottom of the list since
they are still experiencing highs and peaks in their daily new cases.
Hospitalizations lag the daily cases by a week or two and deaths lag
hospitalizations by a week or two.

Iceland Is taken off the bad list since its active cases are flattening and starting to roll over with daily cases plummeting lower. Cyprus remains a concern but is removed from the list since its data is only reported intermittently now. Japan is off the bad list since daily and active cases are dropping. Laos is having trouble beating back the covid beast.
Finland’s data is messy but it remains on the list as active
cases continue higher. Finland President Niinisto, 73, tests positive for
COVID-19 a week ago and is now admitted to the hospital never a good sign.
South Africa is added to the bad list as the fifth wave is sorted out.
Southeastern Canada and northeastern United States battle
the BA2 scourge. The jury remains out in the US on the severity of the BA2
wave. The next 4 days of daily cases will provide a clear picture.
Europe, Africa and South America are generally in good
shape. China and Taiwan are a mess. Mongolia is okay but cases are appearing
the last couple days creating concern. Rare earth minerals that are needed for
smartphones ae mined in Mongolia.
The next list shows the 25 most troubled US states. The peak
in daily new cases and projections for the peaks in active cases are provided
as per the Keystone Model. The flattening and roll over of the active cases
curve forming the bell shape indicates the virus is being defeated and the
caseload on healthcare workers will quickly improve but those dates all reside
in May. Wave 7 is underway for the 25 states below.

None of the prior states were removed from the list but more were added. Ohio has to be watched and may be on the bad list next time. Ditto Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Utah, Iowa, Kansas, New Mexico, West Virginia, Wyoming and Alaska. Thus, 25 are on the bad list the worst states, and these 11 will likely be added next time, and 14 are in okay shape with BA2 not yet causing an issue.
Note that all the northern US states bordering Canada are
seeing rising infections albeit the numbers are very small for the sparsely
populated states. Canada’s outbreak is ongoing and their infections move south
infecting the United States. Is baby King Trudeau sleeping? Maybe he is at a
blackface party and does not have time to focus on the pandemic?
Nebraska is interesting since the CDC’s CommunityTransmission map identifies increased infections and the Worldometer daily and
active cases charts show small bumps higher (different methods confirming).
Washington, DC, remains in trouble with the BA2 bug.

Vice President Kamala Harris, 57, tests positive for China Virus. The
Whitehouse is a covid-infected nest. The multiple vaccinations do not stop

Americans will be concerned at how close President Biden and
the VP interacted over the last few days. Sleepy Joe is pumped with quadruple
COVID-19 vaccinations; he is booster-boosted. Hopefully, the vice president
will have a speedy recovery and Biden, the First Lady and others will escape
the covid monster’s grasp.
The Wimbledon Grand Slam tennis tournament starting in late
June will welcome vaccinated and unvaccinated players and fans. Number one
player Novak Djokovic, that was prevented from playing in Australia because he
was unvaccinated, can play going forward including in Italy next month. It will
be just like it was pre-pandemic. COVID-19 is over. Ding dong the wicked covidwitch is dead. Or is it?
The US-Mexico border crisis continues with republicans and
democrats fighting over Title 42 that is set to end on 5/23/22. This is the law
that allows the US to turn away migrants based on health concerns specifically
COVID-19. The Biden administration has been too lax about letting folks freely
cross the southern border some infected with coronavirus.
A federal judge steps into the battle and blocks Biden’s
intent to end Title 42. For now, Title 42 remains in play and helps the border
authorities to hold back the tide of migrants flooding through the porous
southern border. If Title 42 ends, the mass of humanity crossing into the
United States from Mexico will be an abomination. Biden simply does not care or
he may be too confused about the situation. Democrats think that the migrants
will be automatic votes so they want to open the border to anyone.
President Biden is appealing a different decision by a
different federal judge to drop the mask mandate for public transportation.
America is for the most part ditching masks and embracing the judge’s decision
but Sleepy Joe is fighting the ruling so the CDC can maintain current and
future control over the population during pandemics. Americans have had enough
of that; the CDC has lost a lot of credibility.
The US lawyers are getting rich off covid. The pandemic
lawsuits are buying the attorneys new vacation homes and sports cars. The ongoing
appeal concerning masks on public transportation and the ruling on the Title 42
saga at the southern border will be in the news during May.
The FDA approves remdesivir, also named Veklury, by Gilead,
for use in COVID-19 patients under 12 years old. Young kids under 5 years old
remain ineligible for vaccinations. Anything can help, and remdesivir helped
former President Trump survive China Virus in September/October 2020, but
studies indicate the drug not all that effective. Some naughty nurses call the
treatment ‘rem-death-is near’ or ‘when-death is-near’.
In late breaking news, Pfizer submits an application for an
emergency use authorization (EUA) for a booster dose in kids between the ages
of 5 and 11 years old.
CDC Director Walensky says the United States has a lot of
protection against COVID-19 including vaccinations, booster shots and natural
immunity. The CDC says 58%, or 3 in 5 people, have antibodies from a COVID-19
infection although it is unclear as to how many antibodies are the right amount
of protection.
The hard data identifies 25% of Americans has having
COVID-19 and estimates have been double that number to as much as one-half the
US, but now the CDC is saying nearly 60% of Americans have had coronavirus and
have some level of natural antibody protection. 75% of children have natural antibodies. Interesting stuff.
The CDC says STD’s are increasing in America again. During
the first 2 years of the pandemic, with folks in isolation, sexually-transmitted
diseases fell but now that people are moving on from coronavirus and comingling
again, the viruses are dancing across human flesh with glee. My baby does theHanky Panky as Tommy James and the Shondells would sing.
US Wave 7 is not creating the angst and fear like prior
waves. Wave 7, schmeven. People are fed up with the pandemic and the majority
appear willing to take on the daily responsibility of living with the virus and
most importantly, getting on with life.
Today, Whitehouse COVID-19 coordinator Dr Jha says the goal going
forward is to prevent people from getting seriously ill. This is a good goal
since many Americans are moving on anyway. Jha says the treatments and
therapies such as Pfizer’s Paxlovid pills are being expanded and more people
are eligible for the pills.
It is encouraging that the wave 7 of daily new cases in the
United States is favoring sideways activity instead of the parabolic moon-shot
higher. Ditto the daily cases for New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont,
New Hampshire, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, Oregon and other states.
Note Added Tuesday Evening: 12 countries are reporting a strange liver disease in children. There are 114 cases in the UK, more than a dozen each in Spain and Israel, 9 cases so far in the United States and 1 case in Japan. Sadly, 17 of the young people required liver transplants. The illness remains a mystery but scientists think it has to do with kids being isolated for a couple years and then hit with an adenovirus or COVID-19 or both. The scientists say there is no link to the COVID-19 vaccines. Huh? How do they know this when the illness is called a mystery? Most cases are kids under 5 years old so they were generally not vaccinated. But there are teens that are afflicted with the liver problem and some of them had to be vaccinated. The reason that some people do not want vaccinated is because of the perceived dishonesty of the medical profession. If a parent, watch out for nausea and diarrhea in kids. Also, jaundice where the face, skin and eyes may yellow. Tell your young kids and teens if they pee and it looks darker than normal to tell you immediately.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 4/27/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The world reports 663K daily new cases yesterday and the path lower takes on a more sideways posture as explained with the chart above. This is due to the increased cases in China, Taiwan, Canada, the US, and lingering cases in Europe. The world's death rate is also assuming a sideways posture at 2.4K to 2.5K deaths per day. That's too bad since the death rate has been falling like a rock since its peak in early February. Nonetheless, global deaths are the lowest since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. Italy reports 30K daily new cases yesterday so the expectation remains that conditions should improve after Pope Francis's superspreader masses. Oh no. South Africa reports 5.1K daily new cases yesterday the most for the developing wave 5; not good. South Africa must be watched closely. Damn. Taiwan reports 6.3K daily new cases yesterday another record with the 7-day MA parabolic at 4.3K cases per day. Taiwan's active cases chart has also gone parabolic so healthcare workers must be swamped. In communist China, Beijing residents are undergoing strict covid testing. Officials are trying to gain the upper hand on the developing infections trying to avoid the debacle that is Shanghai.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 4/27/22, at 5:30 AM EST: The US reports 43K daily new cases yesterday with the 7-day MA at 46K cases per day continuing higher. America's BA2 story will be told this week. The picture is encouraging as long as cases remain below the 7-day MA at 46K cases per day. The US COVID-19 death rate is at 281 souls per day. New York reports 6.5K cases yesterday and the 7-day MA is at 6.7K cases per day remaining elevated. New York will tip its hand by the end of the week. The daily cases for today, Thursday and Friday will determine America's fate over the next month or two.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 4/27/22, at 9:00 AM EST: Dr Fauci is interviewed on PBS (democrat-run media) last evening and says a substantial portion of the US has protection from COVID-19 either through vaccination or natural immunity. Fauci says the number of infections ae being undercounted. Many Americans are walking around asymptomatic. Fauci says hospitalizations are not increasing which is encouraging going forward. He says Pfizer's Paxlovid is an effective treatment and underused. Fauci says Paxlovid is available at 20K sites (hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, etc..) and in the near future 30K places with an upside goal that 40K sites will offer Paxlovid to those that need the oral pill treatment. Lord Fauci proclaims, "We are certainly right now in this country out of the pandemic phase, namely, we don't have 900 thousand new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths, we are at a low level right now, so if you are saying are we out of the pandemic phase in this country? We are. What we hope to do .....we are not going to eradicate this virus.....right now, we are not in the pandemic phase in this country." The Lord has spoken. Fauci says the pandemic phase is over in the US but the pandemic continues around the world. Most Americans have already moved on. He says US hospitalizations are not rising and at pandemic lows. Huh? Fauci is supposed to be the expert but what is he smoking? US hospital admissions due to COVID-19 are increasing for the US especially in older age groups. US COVID-19 hospitalizations are also rising. Granted, the numbers remain small, and the lowest since the start of the pandemic 2 years ago, however, there are over 10K covid patients now when the numbers were sub 10K two weeks ago. In addition, hospitalizations fell to 12K last July. If less than a couple thousand more covid patients require a hospital bed, as the BA2 bug bites, the claim of low numbers would be negated. Admissions lead hospitalizations by 3 or 4 days so the hospitalizations are expected to continue rising in the days forward. Hospitalizations are rising in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York and many other states. Maybe Fauci is holding the charts upside down? Note Added Wednesday Afternoon, 4/27/22: Fauci's comments to PBS create media drama and confusion. People are proclaiming that Fauci says the pandemic is over. He clarifies his statements saying the pandemic is not over. COVID-19 is going from the pandemic phase to the endemic phase (like the regular flu) in the United States. Fauci causes the confusion because he says the pandemic phase is over in the US but the pandemic continues around the world. On hospitalizations, Fauci says he was commenting on how the numbers are small compared to the peak of the omicron wave (10K COVID-19 hospitalizations now versus nearly 150K in January). Fauci should have commented on the current BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave 7 telling folks that hospital admissions and hospitalizations are rising currently. The US reports 57.7K daily new cases yesterday an elevated number and not unexpected. On the positive side, it is below Friday's BA2 wave 7 peak thus far at 62.4K cases and it is in line with last Wednesday's 57.4K cases (not a blowout higher). The 7-day MA for US cases continues higher to 52.3K cases per day. US deaths are at 300 per day. New York reports 7.8K cases yesterday and the 7-day MA climbs higher to 6.8K cases per day. The New York BA2 wave is a small bump thus far. The biggest cases numbers of the week for the US and the states starting to experience the new BA2 wave should be today and tomorrow. Boom. The CDC says about 60% of Americans, including 75% of children, had COVID-19 and have natural antibodies. Active cases are spiking higher so hospitals and clinics are seeing increased activity. South Africa is getting smacked by China Virus again. Eswatini reports over 100 cases yesterday so infections from South Africa may be spreading. Lesotho and Botswana data is not reliable. Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Angola are fine with no sign of covid trouble. Namibia requires watching as cases may be increasing. Italy reports 88K daily new cases an unwelcome elevated number compared to the 7-day MA at 60K cases per day trying to roll over, but it is below the 101K cases peak one week ago on Wednesday, 4/20/22; a good thing. The higher cases due to Easter celebrations is fading. France and Malta are in great shape with their active cases dropping forming the coveted bell shape verifying that the virus is being defeated. Taiwan reports a big 8.9K daily new cases yesterday and yes, another record high. Cases in Shanghai were running consistently over 20K per day but for the last several days the numbers are dropping. Lock-up an entire city for 5 weeks and lo and behold, cases start to go down. It is not a revelation. Note Added Thursday Morning, 4/28/22, at 7:00 AM EST: Denmark ends its vaccination program proclaiming that the virus is under control. This is verified by the Worldometer charts showing Denmark's daily and active cases dropping to negligible numbers. Denmark is the first country to ditch the vaccination program, although people can still get the shots if they want, and the jabs will pick up again in the Fall. It is a good sign that the world may finally be moving on from the once in a century China Virus pandemic. Back in the US, the molnupiravir COVID-19 pills, that are not as effective as Pfizer's Paxlovid pills or the monoclonal antibody injections, are raking in big profits for Merck. MRK stock pops +3% in the pre-market after its earnings release. Eli Lilly announces earnings receiving a big boost from its COVID-19 monoclonal antibody treatments. LLY stock jumps over +3%. The wealthy and Big Pharma dance with glee. Moderna submits data to the FDA asking for an authorization for its vaccine for children from 6 months to 5 years old. The shots are only 37% effective for 2 to 5 year old's and only 51% effective for the toddlers. Is it worth it? The parents will have to consult with their doctors and make their own decisions if the Moderna shots receive the FDA approval and CDC blessing. Generally, COVID-19 is not a threat of severe illness or death for young children and teens. The extremely small number of kids that have passed from China Flu had other health issues, illnesses, comorbidities and/or were obese. Parents of chubby kids would be wise to keep up on covid information.

The global COVID-19 death rate bumps along sideways at 2.4K to 2.5K deaths per day for the last 10 days. Boom. South Africa reports 6.4K daily new cases the most for the new wave 5 with the 7-day MA parabolic at 4.2K cases per day. Scientist and professor Tulio de Oliveira, very knowledgeable on the omicron sublineages, says BA4 and BA5 are more infectious than BA2 which was more infectious than BA1 (B11529 Botswana/South Africa Variant (omicron)). Since the majority (over 90%) of South Africa is either vaccinated or had coronavirus, and cases are increasing for the new wave 5, scientists conclude that the omicron sublineages are evading the vaccine and natural immunity protection. This may not be true. The vaccines may be junk. The scientists must have the numbers for how many sick people are vaccinated, unvaccinated or previously infected. They do not release this information maybe because more vaccinated people are sick than unvaccinated? With the ongoing infectious omicron bugs, it does not appear to matter if you are vaccinated or not (as the peanut gallery yells that the shots will prevent death). It is disturbing hearing the drones broadcast the (translated) message, "Please comply with COVID-19 restrictions. Control your soul's desire for freedom." It is a sick dystopian message in 2022 in red China. Beijing officials continue forcing citizens to take covid tests at all hours of the day and night. Beijing schools are closed as the mass testing continues. A large mall in Beijing is shut down and non-essential businesses are closed. Beijing folks, you see what is coming, get prepared since the CCP is likely going to lock you down. China has the hubris that it can control a virus. The United States was the same way but the virus does what it wants. The Three Stooges of data remain at far lower numbers despite the bodies stacking up at 300 to 400 per day. The CDC is at 990K American deaths from COVID-19. It has been between 980K and 990K for the last month. The numbers have not been adding up. Johns-Hopkins is at 993K deaths. IHME is at 988K deaths and still does not predict 1 million deaths by August. Huh? The death toll must be held back for a political reason. The bozo's at the CDC say that 1 million US deaths will not be crossed until the third week of May. The CDC web page is laughable saying over the next 4 weeks "COVID-19 deaths will remain stable or have an uncertain trend." What idiot wrote that? It means anything can happen. It is a useless statement. Primary elections are on tap in May and conveniently the negative news about 1 million American covid deaths will be held back until the ballots are cast. Note Added Friday Morning, 4/29/22, at 5:30 AM EST: The US reports 56K daily new cases yesterday with the 7-day MA at 53K cases per day moving higher. Numbers below the 7-day MA are needed but the US can live with the 56K cases. Today is the big enchilada since Friday numbers are typically the largest of the week. If over 56K cases, wave 7 will worsen. If between 53K and 56K, the US will continue muddling along sideways with wave 7 and there is hope it will roll over lower. If today's cases come in under 53K, it is confetti throwing time since it paints a far brighter picture ahead and likely short life span to US wave 7. The US death rate is at 283 deaths per day. Oh no. New York daily new cases explode higher to 9.9K, almost 10K, yesterday, the highest for the BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave and the 7-day MA is up to 7.2K cases per day a 7-handle. This is lousy news since New York is the BA2 poster child for other states. Several other states show the same pattern reporting high cases for the BA2 wave including Florida, Pennsylvania and Illinois. The daily new cases news is not good with the Friday data still to come.
Note Added Friday Afternoon, 4/29/22: Whitehouse communications director Kate Bedingfield is home in bed after testing positive for COVID-19. She was around President Biden but claims she was wearing a mask and following CDC social distancing guidelines. Biden's Whitehouse is a covid-infected nest just like it was under Trump. The US, and global stock markets crash today. The major indexes collapse from -3% to -5%. American angst over inflation increases daily. Young folks have not seen inflation like the 1970's into the early 1980's. They will.
Note Added Friday Evening, 4/29/22: Pfizer says the Paxlovid anti-viral oral pills do not prevent COVID-19 infections. No one ever thought they did. That is what HCQ, ivermectin, zinc, quercetin, turmeric, selenium, vitamins C and D-3, and other supplements, drugs, treatments and therapies are for that the television doctors refuse to discuss. Pfizer says Paxlovid is nearly 90% effective against severe hospitalizations and death if taken within 5 days of covid symptoms. Paxlovid is a game changer for the pandemic. If Uncle Joe, who is moving kind of slow, can wake up and provide adequate quantities of Paxlovid, the pandemic can be defeated.

Clearly, wave 7 will have to run its course for a few weeks. The 7-day MA for US daily new cases continues higher to 57K cases per day. Keeping with the negative theme, the 3-day MA prints 65K cases per day compared to the prior peak at 59K cases per day last Saturday; a higher high. The 3-day MA for US daily new cases in now in a pattern of higher highs and higher lows so the trend higher with US wave 7 will continue. Wave 7 takes a dump in your morning Cheerio's. US active cases are rising at 1.4 million remaining well off the omicron wave 6 peak at 18 million active cases. 290 Americans continue dying day after day after over 2 years of the pandemic. The only positive is that at least it is less than Thursday's 9.9K cases, however, the Thursday data is typically the peak numbers for New York each week (rather than Friday). The news is not good for the New York poster boy of the BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave 7 with the 7-day MA up to 7.1K cases per day and rising. As New York State goes, so goes the USA. New Jersey, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, Oregon, Washington and others are displaying the same daily new cases chart pattern as New York. Spain reports 21K daily new cases yesterday the most in 5 weeks and the 7-day MA is up to 16K cases per day and rising. It is a bummer to see Spain and Portugal sucked into the BA2 mess; they would be wise to educate their citizens about BA2 and the approaching outbreak wave. Americans are all over the map with the childhood vaccinations. Some parents are quadruple vaccinated and in a daily panic worried that their young child will contract China Virus. It is interesting that the CDC just released the information that 75% of children have been infected with COVID-19 and have protective antibodies. Hollywood extends its covid protocols and regulations for actors and workers during union negotiations. US hospital admissions move higher, however, the admissions for the elderly over 70 years old has flattened and may be curling lower. That would be awesome news. Perhaps the BA2 Omicron Subvariant little sister wave 7 is mainly attacking the elderly so it moves through the population quickly not causing too much of a problem. US hospitalizations are at 11K, however, the data may be starting to slump-over slightly; excellent news. The key concern is the hospitals becoming overworked. If BA2 infects a bunch of folks but they are not having to go to the hospital, that will be a positive outcome for wave 7. Another few days of data need to play out, especially since the CDC's data is always slow to update, but if the hospitalizations in New York, New Jersey and other states are cresting and dropping, that will be cause for celebration. 78% of the US population, or 258 million people, are vaccinated with at least one shot and the CDC says about one-half the country, 165 million people, have been infected with COVID-19 and have some level of antibodies. This is an awesome herd immunity combination even if scientists say the new subvariants can defeat the protection. The US vaccination rate is at about 300K shots per day having rebounded over the last month as people fear BA2 and other subvariants.

The numbers over the last few days continue revising higher which is not a good sign. The peak for wave 7 thus far is 75K cases on 4/28/22, last Thursday, so the pressure on today's cases is bigtime. America needs the daily new cases to remain below 75K today and tomorrow, otherwise, wave 7 is gathering steam and moving higher. The Friday data is typically robust so the odds are lousy that the next 2 days will work out positively but hope springs eternal in springtime. 306 Americans are dying per day from China Virus now higher back to a 3-handle. Corrupt America yucks it up at the correspondents dinner on the party weekend while the trend of common folks dying from covid increases. With the US death rate steadying and not dropping, now floating higher, the Pfizer Paxlovid anti-viral oral pills and monoclonal antibody treatments are obviously not reaching the people that need these life-saving therapies. Maybe it is more important for the elite class to order the liquor for the party rather than Paxlovid pills? Instead of cracking jokes, America's inept leaders should be figuring out a way to stop over 300 Americans from dying per day from coronavirus. New York reports 8.9K daily new cases yesterday and the 7-day MA is up to 7.9K cases per day; terrible news and 2 more days of week-day data remains in play. Thwack. New Jersey is smacked in the face with 3.4K daily new cases the most for the current BA2 wave and the 7-day MA trend line is over 3K cases per day. Illinois reports 5.7K cases yesterday teasing the high for the current wave at 6K cases last Friday. Boom. Vermont reports 517 cases the most for the current wave and highest since early February. New Hampshire and Maine are in a similar boat with elevated cases. Thwack. Rhode Island is slapped with 744 cases the most for the current wave and highest since early February. Pennsylvania also takes a punch to the face with 2.6K cases the most for the current wave 7. Oregon reports 1.8K cases yesterday a big spike higher the most since early February. New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire and Oregon all serve as poster children for the BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave in America. Today and tomorrow are going to tell a lot and the timing will be good since the Coronavirus Chronology Article 76 with new charts is slated for publication on Saturday, 5/7/22.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 5/5/22, at 9:00 AM EST: The WHO says the global death rate is undercounted and instead of the 6.27 million deaths (5.4 million deaths according to their numbers), the total COVID-19 deaths are 15 million nearly three times what is currently reported. WHO says India's covid deaths are 10 times higher than reported but the government pushes back on the WHO's estimates. Egypt's are 12 times higher than reported. Pakistan 8 times, Indonesia 7 times, Bangladesh 5 times and Bolivia, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Philippines and Russia deaths are about 4 times higher than currently reported. Everyone's a liar in today's modern world especially these nations. China should be automatically included in that list at the top but of course it is a WHO study so China is protected and not mentioned. The WHO and CCP comingle each evening on red satin sheets performing acts so obscene they would make Caligula blush.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 5/5/22, at 10:00 AM EST: The KFF releases the latest data on childhood vaccinations. The FDA and CDC may approve the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for children under 5 years old as soon as June. A vaccine for kids was promised by the end of 2021 but that was a half year ago. Some parents are glad because they do not want to shoot their kids up with mRNA since the covid threat may be minimal while others will be waiting outside the doctor office overnight after the shots are approved so they can jab their kids immediately (perhaps more for the reason of creating freedom for their own selfish jet set lives?). The KFF polling data provides insight into the childhood vaccination drama. 18% of parents say they will vaccinate their kids right away without delay if the shots are approved. 38% say they will wait and see. 11% say only if required and 27% of parents say definitely not. Thus, about 40% of parents say they will not get their child under 5 vaccinated or will do so only if they are forced and have no other choice. About 40% say wait and see and about 20% are gun-ho ready to shoot their kids up with any serum available. The numbers show that parents are unenthusiastic about vaccinating their toddlers with the multiple mRNA shots. The miniscule amount of childhood deaths that occurred from COVID-19 over the last 2 years were kids with comorbidities and/or suffering from childhood obesity. The Whitehouse, CDC and Big Pharma will have an uphill battle convincing parents to bring forth their children's arms come June. The situation would simplify if wave 7 peters out quickly and the pandemic disappears from mind, at least until Fall.
Note Added Thursday Afternoon, 5/5/22: Over 100 passengers on a Carnival cruise ship are infected with COVID-19. It is a mess. The crew is overwhelmed and unprepared but Carnival says they have it under control. Passengers are complaining on social media. The ship docks in Seattle. Some passengers spent 11 days in quarantine jail during the 16 day lousy cruise. Of course folks will be suing to get money. Ocean vacation trips are called 'vomit cruises' because of Norovirus. Now they will be called 'coronavirus cruises'. The cruise ship story is reminiscent of the horror stories early in the pandemic. Over 50 ships worldwide currently have onboard infections. The FDA limits the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine due to the blood-clotting issue. The J&J vaccine is only recommended for folks that may be allergic to other vaccines or if they request it. After over 2 years, the United States still does not have an effective conventional vaccine to fight COVID-19.

On the positive side, the 67K cases are below the prior day's 75K cases that match the peak for the current wave 7 at 75K cases on 4/28/22. Cases are knocking at the 66K to 75K door with Friday's data, typically the highest for the week, still to come. It is encouraging that the 75K cases peak holds for 4/28/22, then on 5/4/22, and now possibly for 5/6/22? Friday's cases will be known early tomorrow morning. It will be great if today's cases come in under 75K, fantastic if under 60K, but disastrous if above 75K cases. The story will be told within 24 hours. The US covid death toll now shamefully moves sideways at about 300 souls per day. President Biden needs to ditch the climate change stuff and focus on handling the pandemic which is the reason he was hired. No wonder Sleepy Joe's approval rating continues to explore new depths. South Africa's wave 5 is well underway and will serve as the poster child for the BA4 and BA5 subvariants. Beijing residents begin the sixth round of mass testing. In Shanghai, workers at the Quanta Computer facility, an Apple manufacturer and assembler, break through the isolation fences at the factory overpowering the white-gowned police force. Chinese folks are fed-up with the hardline zero-covid strategy. Dictator Xi and his CCP henchmen warn citizens to not question the dynamic zero-covid policy. The Politburo proclaims that the strategy will "stand the test of time." The filthy CCP proclaims that the zero-covid policy and public measures are "scientific and effective"; not according to the Chinese people screaming from locked-down apartment buildings all night long. Xi lays down the law for all Chinese citizens. Kneel, b*tches. Dirtbag Xi proclaims, "We will resolutely struggle against all words and deeds that distort, doubt and deny our epidemic prevention policies." In other words, if you voice discontent about being locked down or sent to a concentration camp, er isolation facility, the secret police will haul you away and your family likely will never see you again. That's communism. Scumbag Xi channels dirtbag Mao stating that 'China must proceed or it will fall back'. China may crumble due to Dictator Xi's hubris and insistence that he can control the behavior of a highly-contagious pathogen.
