By K E Stone (Keystone)
The drumbeat towards 1 million dead Americans continues.
Revisions and refinements are occurring in the Worldometer data with total
deaths at 991K Americans currently. Thankfully, the US death rate, shown in the
chart above, drops below 1K dead bodies per day down to 979 deaths per day back
to the November lows at 924 deaths per day and on the verge of comparing back
to last July.
At the rate of 979 dead bodies per day, which should improve
sharply since the Pfizer antiviral oral pills and the GlaxoSmithKline and Eli
Lilly monoclonal antibody treatments are in greater supply, the 1 million
deaths grim milestone would take another 9 days; say 9 to 13 days if the death
rate quickly improves. The 1 million American deaths at the hand of China Virus
are likely to occur by the end of the month.
The US daily new cases chart is shown above with the 7-day
MA down to 32K cases per day a far cry from the record high peak at 904K cases
on 1/13/22. Falling from about 1 million new infections per day down to about
30K per day in 8 weeks is something Americans can celebrate. The glide path
lower becomes more gradual as the daily cases compare back to the low numbers
from last July. US wave 6 is finished based on the daily cases chart.
Individual days, like Sunday, should begin printing sub 10K
numbers for the US and that was the magic number often touted by Fauci as when
the pandemic will graduate into an endemic phase. Dr Fauci is missing in action
these days. He has disappeared from the networks perhaps because the Whitehouse
told him to hang low?
Fauci and Collins will have to address the Wuhan Lab leak
and gain of function research scandals at some point in the future. Uncovered emails
show a desire by Fauci and the gang to discredit doctors that were using other
therapies such as HCQ and ivermectin with success (as preventive and early
treatments).
Vaccines cannot typically be approved for emergency use if
other treatments and therapies exist. Putting the pieces together it is obvious
that President Biden and his regime wanted a vaccine only strategy and crushed
anything that questioned that sole direction.
The US active cases chart is shown above and it is still a
work in progress. The active cases chart is the ‘flatten the curve’ and ‘bell
curve’ chart that gauges the stress on the medical system and healthcare
employees (nurses, doctors, medics, support staff). With the daily cases way down,
the active cases should drop more sharply going forward and complete the
coveted bell shape.
US active cases slip below 24 million a welcome sight
compared to the over 29 million active cases as February started. This is a
near 20% drop in US active cases in the last 5 weeks. Hospitals can get back to
handling regular ailments and elective surgeries instead of the constant care
of COVID-19 patients for the last 2 years. America is on the mend.
The story is not as rosy for two other regions of the planet;
Southeast Asia, including the China situation that may be unraveling, and
northern Europe. The BA2 Omicron Subvariant poster child was Denmark. The UK
also tracked BA2 infections but the situation improved. Fast forward a few
weeks and the BA2 infection wave moves from Denmark into Germany, Netherlands,
Belgium and probably France and UK infections rise again. The United States
does not show any indication of a BA2 problem currently.
Germany’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Denmark is
okay now with no lasting effects from BA2 but the infections spread southward into
the Deutschland. The BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave may be a quickie and fall as
fast as it popped; at least that is the hope. Denmark dispatched BA2 in quick
order. Nonetheless, it is a disturbing sight to see over 300K daily new cases
in Germany on 3/10/22, last Thursday, the most ever.
The world’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The
downside in cases stalls due to the lingering omicron waves in Southeast Asia
and the new BA2 Omicron Subvariant cases in Europe. Both should be short-lived
situations. The world’s 7-day MA for daily new cases curled higher but is
actually moving dead flat now at 1.6 million cases per day. Hopefully, the
chart will roll back over in quick order.
The world’s daily deaths chart is shown above and the news
is great. The 7-day MA for the world’s deaths drops to 5,828 souls per day
succumbing from China Virus. This low compares back to October of 2020 a
17-month low. That is something to celebrate. The omicron wave peaks with 13.1K
deaths on 2/8/22 and in only 4-1/2 weeks drops below 6K deaths per day but
there is more work ahead.
The next goal for the world is to drop the deaths below 5.1K
deaths per day because this will compare back to the death rate in May 2020
when the pandemic was a baby only a few months old.
The Netherlands daily new cases chart is shown above
experiencing a secondary BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave. Daily cases are already
rolling over lower at 63K cases per day so any BA2 situations may be quick mini-waves
despite Germany’s ugliness. The UK daily cases chart is following the same path
as the Netherlands. Belgium, and France, are experiencing a bump higher in
cases over the last few days and couple weeks so a mini BA2 wave is likely for
these two nations.
Turning the focus away from the pesky BA2 bug in Europe, the
Omicron Variant continues wreaking havoc in Asia. China is revising its
zero-covid strategy to an oh-sh*t strategy.
The world has paid its China Virus dues with every nation on
the planet spending time in the covid pickle barrel. Over 6 million people are
killed by the Wuhan Flu worldwide. Most folks either had covid so they have
natural immunity or they have been vaccinated and have protection. One large
nation, however, China, with 1.4 billion people, went for the zero-covid
strategy while cheering their junk vaccines. The virus is looking for fresh
host bodies and has found riches in Hong Kong, China, New Zealand and
Australia, the zero-covid warriors.
China’s daily new cases chart is shown above. China reports
1.9K cases on 3/13/22 and 1.4K cases on 3/14/22, the most since the pandemic
started 2 years ago. The numbers are far worse at least 4 or 5 times higher and
more but the CCP never tells the truth.
The 7-day MA trend line for China’s daily cases is at 815
cases per day another 2-year high and going parabolic. China’s omicron wave is
underway so it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the land of the
zero-covid strategy and junk vaccines. Maybe the Sinovac and Sinopharm shots
will prove their merits? China’s active cases increase to 8.5K a 2-year high
but another underestimation.
Hong Kong is recovering with daily new cases dropping but
the deaths remain at nearly 300 per day the deadliest days of the pandemic.
Hong Kong did not vaccinate enough elderly people, only about 30%, so the old
folks are dropping like flies. Perhaps the authorities are happy that the
elderly are culled?
Hong Kong’s and China’s zero-covid strategy leaves people
without natural immunity and at the same time too many older folks are not
vaccinated. Also, the Chinese vaccines may not respond well. It is baseball
season, so the ‘strike three and yer out’ cliché is in order.
Vietnam’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Cases are at
record levels trying to flatten-out at 175K cases per day. Vietnam remains in
bad shape but the deaths remain low and in check. Malaysia and Thailand also
remain a mess.
South Korea’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The
peninsula nation is a covid Hell hole. South Korea reports 384K cases on
Saturday, 3/12/22, the most ever. The 7-day MA of daily new cases jumps to 315K
cases per day. About 6 big American football stadiums of people are infected
with China Virus every day in South Korea. That’s a lot.
Back in the US, the new CDC county community transmissionmap is engulfed in green, which is a good thing. Yellow works, too. Some areas
are orange (red) but they are continuing to shrink. The map lives up to the
name ‘community transmission’ because the remaining troubled areas are pockets
of infection.
If the United States would have started the pandemic 2 years
ago with the US county map, the outcome would have been far more positive. Any
strict measures should only be focused on hotspots while other areas can get on
with life and keep their economies and livelihoods going. Everything is a
learning process but you have to build on the experience and not say you will
build on it and do nothing. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame onme.
The US vaccination rate is falling below 200K shots per day
which is the same pace as when the inoculations began in December 2020 and
January 2021. Keystone walked by a pop-up vaccination site the other day and a tumbleweed
rolled by. There weren’t any patients in the tent or waiting. The nurse was
sitting at a table looking at her smartphone nodding off. There were cobwebs
cascading from each calf.
Americans are learning to live with covid knowing there are
therapies and treatments available. The COVID-19 Therapeutics Locator is a keyUS map that shows you the locations of treatment centers and pharmacies where
therapies are provided.
The Pfizer Paxlovid pills are saving senior’s lives in
recent weeks as well as the Glaxo Sotrovimab monoclonal antibody and the Eli
Lilly Bebtelovimab mAb treatments. Merck’s Molnupiavir is effective but much
less so than Paxlovid.
If you test positive for COVID-19. and free tests are
available from Uncle Sam at covidtests.gov, seek medical care immediately. Put
down the remote control and bag of potato chips and call your doctor. Time is
of the essence and it is a disgrace that this fact has not been drilled into
American heads over the last couple years.
EARLY TREATMENT is the key to a successful outcome from a
COVID-19 infection so reference the treatment map and take it to your doctor.
Make sure a sick friend knows the map is available. The Paxlovid oral pills and
GSK Sotrovimab infusions are saving lives and both great treatment choices but
only you and your doctor can determine the best treatment path for your spongy
body.
US hospitalizations drop to 11,394 covid patients as of Saturday,3/12/22, comparing back to last July before waves 5 (delta) and 6 (omicron)
occurred, and about to break to record lows. Less covid beds means people can
be treated for regular afflictions and surgeries. Keystone may need a mole on
his back removed, however, the doctor at the dinner party the other night could
not provide a definitive prognosis. Keystone could not get a second opinion
because the host told him to put his shirt back on.
The CDC is expanding its wastewater surveillance data andmapping methodologies. Red dots represent the highest increase in coronavirus
detected in wastewater which can provide insight into coming outbreaks. Red
dots include sewer facilities in San Benito, California, Snohomish and King
counties in Washington state, San Juan and Grand counties in Utah, Pennington
county in South Dakota, Mississippi county in Arkansas, Escambia, Orange and
Miami-Dade counties in Florida, Bristol county, Rhode Island, and Franklin
county, Vermont, and several other wastewater locations in Illinois, Ohio,
North Carolina, West Virginia, New York and Maine. Ohio has the most red dots
(bad).
Looking at Ohio’s daily cases and other data, however, all
is fine. The first question is if all the wastewater facilities throughout the
US are following the exact same sampling and testing procedures? Ohio may have
ultra-sensitive testing that finds minute amounts of virus in the wastewater
whereas Frankie’s sampling service in a different state takes care of the
testing and his procedures are more lax.
The US wastewater map hints that Ohio, Illinois, North
Carolina, West Virginia and New York may be COVID-19 trouble spots but it is
not showing in the daily cases data. In addition, the CDC’s wastewater findings
do not agree with the CDC’s US county transmission map. Illinois and Ohio, for
example, are green border to border. As a forecasting tool, the daily cases are
the best data to use until proven otherwise.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 81.2 million. India is next with 43 million total virus cases. Brazil,
France, UK, Russia, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Argentina, South Korea,
Netherlands, Iran and Vietnam round out the top 15 worst nations.
South Korea and Netherlands jumps into the picture ahead of
Iran, and Vietnam wants a piece of the ugly action as well. The world’s daily
cases have stalled the downtrend because of the lingering omicron outbreaks in
Southeast Asia and the BA2 Omicron Subvariant floating around in parts of
northern Europe.
COVID-19 has infected 460 million people worldwide. 6.1 million
people are dead from the China Flu a grim statistic. 394 million global
citizens have recovered from China Flu. 86% (394/460) of the people that become
infected with COVID-19 recover in a reasonable time frame. This percentage had
been at 90% to 92% for many months, and then dropped to 80% for a couple months
now rebounding to 83%-86% over the last month.
People are not recovering as fast from COVID-19 as one year
ago despite all the vaccines available around the world. About 20% of the
people that contract coronavirus (1 in 5) have lingering health effects such as
long-covid or die.
Worldwide, 1.3% (6.1/460) of the people that are infected
with covid die; 1 in 75. This number sat at 2.1%-2.2% for many months but
trends lower for the last 4 months to 1.3%. The vaccinations and natural
immunities are helping to lower the world’s death rate albeit by small increments.
If people are not dying as much and taking longer to recover, if they recover, it
hints that long-covid cases may be increasing.
6.0% (460/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 17 people on earth. This
was 1 in every 24 people 6 weeks ago and 1 in 18 only 10 days ago. This
behavior verifies the contagiousness of the Omicron variant but the 1 in 17
people is remaining steady for 3 weeks.
0.08% of the world’s population (6.1/7670) died from the
pandemic; 1 in every 1,257 people on earth died from China Virus.
In the United States, 81.2 million people are infected with covid.
991K Americans are dead. 56.3 million Americans have recovered from coronavirus.
This equates to 69% (56.3/81.2) of US citizens recovering after becoming
infected with COVID-19. The recovery percentage has been between 76% and 84% for
much of last year but over the last 5 months drops to the 61% to 69% range. The
recovery percentage is also dropping for the world as shown above. Vaccines
have not improved the recovery percentage.
America’s rampant obesity problem has greatly added to
deaths, hospitalizations and long-covid problems. If you are overweight or obese,
and unvaccinated, call your doctor. For the last 2 years, people have put off
medical procedures so their bodies are weaker. China Flu kills the old and the
fat.
In the US, 1.2% (991/81200) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. This number was sticky at 1.6% to 1.8% for many months but has sagged to
1.2% over the last 5 months. 1 in every 82 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus
die. 0.30% (991/330000) of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in
every 333 Americans.
25% (81.2/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid; 1 in every 4 Americans. The minority
communities are impacted disproportionately. The 25% that now have natural
immunities solidly contribute towards the herd immunity number mentioned above
and the numbers for natural immunity are likely far higher than reported. Many
Americans had covid at home and never saw a doctor or reported the illness and
they have some level of natural antibody protection.
The United States has 18% (81.2/460) of the COVID-19 cases
in the world. 1 in 5.7 (2 in 11) people that become infected with covid on
planet earth are Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s
ago, but not so much in recent weeks and months. This percentage was 22% about one
year ago so it is flatlining for a long time.
The US accounts for 16% (991/6100) of the China Flu deaths
in the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are Americans.
9 months ago, it was 1 in 5. The numbers are stalled at the same level for the
last few months.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active
cases chart curves will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases chart
is the ‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and strain on
the medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases chart rolls
over forming the bell shape, the virus is being defeated and healthcare workers
can breathe easier.
The Keystone Model uses the peak in the daily new cases to
forecast the peak and flattening of the active cases curve. The ‘flattening of
the curve’ only pertains to the active cases chart. For communist nations where
the populations must do what they are told or they receive a bullet in their
heads (China), and for smaller authoritarian nations (Eastern European
countries, Africa and Middle East nations), and many Asian nations where
citizens follow government rules without questioning authority (South Korea,
Japan, Singapore, Australia), the active cases curve will peak, on average, 11
days after the peak in daily new cases.
For the Western countries, such as the US and European
nations, the so-called free societies, the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 28 days after the peak in new cases. It takes about 2 weeks longer for
a free society to tamp down a virus wave than a communist or authoritarian
state because lockdowns are not strictly followed or enforced.
All projections below for countries and the US states
continue to use the 11 and 28-day periods for forecasting for consistency. When
the peak in daily new cases occurs, if a subsequent day is within 8% of that
peak top, it is identified as the peak in daily new cases day in reference to
the Keystone Model.
The peak in the daily new cases is easily seen on the bar
charts provided by Worldometer, the CDC and Johns-Hopkins. The daily new cases
bar charts are shown on television news channels with a 7-day moving average
(MA) line which is a smoothing mechanism that identifies the trend.
An update for The Keystone Model is provided since another
10-day period passes and more data and information become available to push the
China Virus story forward. The Coronavirus Chronology identifies the real-time
hotspots occurring around the world and within the United States. The
chronology serves as a historical document that will be referenced for decades
to come by those that want to experience the entire pandemic as it unfolds in
real-time.
With the pandemic hopefully subsiding and entering an
endemic phase, the Coronavirus Chronology articles may end soon. If the country
and US state lists below dwindle down to only a handful of names, that will
likely be time to end the chronology. For now, Article 71 continues and there
are probably one or two more in the hopper.
The Coronavirus Chronology compilation of articles will be
published in the future by Amazon and others and distributed internationally. This
is Article 71 in the Coronavirus Chronology that provides real-time information
for historians, teachers, students, journalists, economists, market
participants, corporate executives, financial managers, Wall Street, doctors,
nurses, medical personnel, first responders, researchers, public officials,
news organizations, traders, investors and politicians studying the COVID-19
pandemic both domestically (USA) and internationally.
This seventy-first article is published on Tuesday, 3/15/22.
The Coronavirus Chronology series of articles are the only real-time source of
information available continuously chronicling the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic from
early 2020 into 2022; it is the China Virus Bible.
Readers live and breathe the pandemic, the worst in a century,
as it occurs in real-time, experiencing the daily virus zeitgeist, good or bad,
devoid of political correctness. This is not revisionist history-telling. It is
the raw pandemic truth and human emotion occurring, recorded and chronicled in
real time, without any allegiance to political parties or media sources. The
information is direct and unapologetic. A chronology can be written no other
way.
All 71 Coronavirus Chronology articles are archived on The
Keystone Speculator blog. The last couple articles are linked below if you want
to come up to speed with the never-ending COVID-19 saga.
The Worldometer web site tracks coronavirus (COVID-19) around
the world and its link is provided. Many charts in the coronavirus series of
articles are provided courtesy of Worldometer and annotated by Keystone. The
CDC COVID Data Tracker is another excellent source of information. The
Worldometer, Johns-Hopkins and CDC data track each other well with the
Worldometer data leading the others by a few days. The Worldometer data is far
superior for forecasting since it is updated more reliably in real-time.
The countries with rising active cases charts are
highlighted below with the worst nations at the bottom. The peaks in daily new
cases are shown and the projected peaks for active cases are based on the
Keystone Model. The peak and flattening of the active cases curves are
extremely important since it represents the maximum stress on healthcare
workers and the medical systems.
It will take longer for the active cases charts to roll over
to form the bell shape for the troubled nations at the bottom of the list (since
they are still experiencing highs and peaks in their daily new cases).
Hospitalizations lag the daily cases by a week or two and deaths lag
hospitalizations by a week or two.

The bad list has not changed much since last time. Germany is added due to the outbreak with the BA2 Omicron Subvariant. UK, Netherlands, Belgium and France also show cases rising but the active cases curves continue lower so they are not placed on the bad list as yet. Hopefully, the BA2 waves will be no biggie.
Zero-covid China holds the worst position on the bad list. Almost
all of China’s provinces report infections which means there are cases in all of
China’s provinces (the CCP lies). Schools are going to remote learning.
Businesses and docks are shutting down for a week to slow or stop the spread of
virus.
China is not a pretty picture. Hundreds of millions are in
lockdown which means the cheap junk you purchased on Amazon will take a bit
longer to arrive. Apple iPhone production and shipping will be delayed as will
products from all other US companies exacerbating inflation and angst about the
global economy. Keystone will have to wait a few extra weeks to receive the red
Nike’s that he planned to rock in the hood.
The next list shows the 15 US states that have not yet
rolled-over their active cases chart. The other 35 states are in good shape. The
peak in daily new cases and projections for the peaks in active cases are
provided as per the Keystone Model. The flattening and roll over of the active
cases curve forming the bell shape indicates the virus is being defeated and
the caseload on healthcare workers will quickly improve.

All 50 states have
peaked with daily new cases but the active cases curves are key since they
confirm that the hospital caseloads will lighten each day forward. Generally,
the healthcare workers that are still under sustained duress are in the states
above but conditions will improve in the days ahead.
America is looking
good. The current vibe feels like it did after US wave 4 rolled over which would
have been the end of the pandemic if it was only a United States thing. It was
not. It is a global pandemic and delta wave 5 and omicron wave 6 slice and dice
America. US wave 6 is appearing in the rearview mirror.
Europe requires
vigilance in monitoring the BA2 Omicron Subvariant. The progression of China’s
outbreak must also be watched closely since it has serious repercussions on the
global economy. Oil drops in price today since demand is hurt by China’s
shutdowns. With a little luck, the Southeast Asia nations will peak-out with
daily cases in the days ahead.
Some American
companies are ditching their silly vaccine mandate garbage that they should
have never initiated. Airlines are bringing unvaccinated workers back to work as well
as the Wall Street investment banks. Let bygones be bygones.
Conversely, there
are still fools doing stupid things like Mayor Lightfoot in Chicago. She
backtracks from the vaccination mandate deadline yesterday saying the
unvaccinated cops, firefighters and city workers will not be fired but still
given time to receive the shots. Do the right thing, dumbbell. Let the
unvaccinated folks go back to work otherwise your legacy as a jackass will be
carved in stone.
America is getting on
with life but several of the blue (democrat-leaning) states are clinging on to
the vaccine and mask mandates as long as possible. Some people lust for power
and when they taste it, they never want to give it away.
The rumor mill says
Pfizer and BioNTech are preparing data to submit to the FDA seeking approval
for the second booster shot; the booster-booster, the fourth shot. All you
folks receiving these never-ending multiple vaccine shots may as well have a
PICC line installed in your chest to make it easier. The booster shot is not
going over that well with the public.
Americans are
skeptical because originally, they were told to get the so-called vaccine and
they would not become infected or transmit the disease. That is what a vaccine is supposed to do. Now
everyone knows it wasn’t true. Vaccinated parents brought COVID-19 home
infecting their children.
Many vaccinated
seniors are shocked that they become sick with covid and can only keep
repeating that they got the shots. They are old school folks. They think that
you receive a vaccine shot and that is the end of the worry. It is not the
case. The shots simply help prevent you from croaking from China Virus.
The seniors that test
positive, and some become very sick, are bewildered that the shots did not do a
better job. At the same time, Americans are realizing that the threat of
COVID-19 to a young person is no biggie. Life is always with risk and someone
will always provide an anecdotal story about dear nephew Bobby, oh what a great
kid he was, but he died from covid. This is rare.
A more educated
public is starting to feel comfortable with the COVID-19 therapies and
treatment options available placing the vaccines on the back burner. This
attitude creates booster shot hesitancy. No wonder that the only sound heard from
the vaccination sites these days are crickets.
Note Added 5:36 PM EST: Kentucky republican Senator Rand Paul, that continues to hold Dr Fauci's feet to the fire concerning the Wuhan Lab leak and gain of function research scandals, introduces a bill to eliminate Fauci's position at the NIAID replacing it with three new positions. It is a clever way to ditch Fauci by eliminating his job. The bill is shot down in the Senate, however, and with six republicans voting no in favor of keeping the Fauch at his job, including Romney (Utah) and Murkowski (Alaska). The United States has too many old people in important positions. Young new blood is needed to guide America forward, or it will fail.
Note Added 10:00 PM EST: Vice President Harris's husband, Second Gentlemen Doug Emhoff, tests positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms. VP Harris tests negative and will keep testing each day forward. Another breakthrough case for a triple vaccinated person. The CDC's wastewater data is receiving attention in the media. It is touted as an early warning signal for virus outbreaks but as explained above, it is not jiving with other data, at least so far. If the wastewater data is a good indicator, US COVID-19 cases should start climbing right away again. The BA2 Omicron Subvariant is 30% more transmissible. Scientists say 23% of the new infections in the US are the BA2 subvariant. With US cases down to 30K per day, and Sunday's cases down at 16K, there are about 2K to 7K BA2 infections occurring per day throughout the entire United States. The wastewater data must be one heck of a warning system since it is telling America to panic because about 4,000 Americans are testing positive for BA2 Omicron Subvariant per day out of a population of 330,000,000. ABC News, a democrat-run media outlet, sensationalizes the wastewater data pumping the fear narrative. 30% of the wastewater sites in America show the BA2 infections increasing substantively. It will be interesting to see if the wastewater data is useful in forecasting outbreaks, or not. ABC proclaims that the BA2 subvariant is doubling every week based on the wastewater samples. There may be a bit of voodoo science occurring with the wastewater proclamations but time will tell. It is good to keep an open mind but much of the country is rural and do not have central sewer systems that can be tested so the wastewater only helps part of the country. The attention to wastewater data is only beneficial to people living in and around large cities. Mask and other guidelines have been lifted in Europe so fear-monger's decree that the relaxation of rules creates the BA2 trouble in Germany, Netherlands and elsewhere. Sure, Germany is smacked with record daily cases, but the bumps in infections may be mild in other nations. Looking from the opposite perspective, it is surprising that Europe is holding up as well as it is against BA2 sans Germany. If the CDC's wastewater predictions are true, the United States should see COVID-19 cases start to spike higher again in most states. This does not seem likely from the low case data, but give it a few days and week or two to see if the wastewater forecasting has any merit.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/16/22, at 4:00 AM EST: The US reports 25K daily new cases yesterday and the 7-day MA trend line is down to 30K cases per day continuing lower. 901 Americans bought the farm yesterday and the 7-day MA is down to 949 deaths per day. America is on the mend but the CDC is the wastewater boogeyman scaring the children. The world reports 1.7 million daily new cases yesterday and one week ago also reported 1.7 million cases. It is great to see the cases not escalating. The 7-day MA trend line is at 1.6 million new infections per day. Cases have to flatten before they roll back over so with a little luck, maybe the world's cases will resume the downward path this week. World deaths are down to 5.6K deaths per day. Germany continues struggling. BA2 is the dominant strain in Europe currently. Oh no. France reports a pop in cases to 117K yesterday the most in one month. BA2 may be raising its ugly face in the cafes of Paris as the French enjoy their wine, baguette and cigarettes. Ditto Italy that reports a big spike in cases to 85K yesterday the most in 5 weeks. Spain is okay but cases are bumping a hair higher in Portugal. France and Italy are going to have a bad week ahead with BA2 dominating their news along with the ongoing Russia/Ukraine War. Luxembourg's daily cases spike higher so it is dealing with the BA2 bug. Switzerland also shows a bump in cases, likely BA2, but the cases peaked on 3/8/22, one week ago, and cases are retreating. Germany is at record high cases but other nations thus far only show minor bumps in infections and a BA2 wave that is smaller than the original omicron wave. France and Italy are important in the days ahead to study the behavior of the BA2 bug and its daily cases chart pattern.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/16/22, at 5:00 AM EST: China reports 3.6K daily new cases another big jump higher. The 7-day MA is going parabolic at 1.3K cases per day. China is in trouble. The numbers are far higher than China reports. Hong Kong cases remain below the 3/3/22 peak but it is starting to look more like data manipulation by the filthy communists than the actual numbers. Hong Kong deaths remain at record levels. There are hundreds of millions of Chinese locked-down across the country. The dirtbag CCP is trying to hold on to the zero-covid loin cloth. China will likely take advantage of the outbreak and kill off a lot of seniors that are now a burden to their communist system. The South Korea and Vietnam messes continue. South Korea reports 293 deaths yesterday the deadliest day ever. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) says the pandemic has pushed nearly 5 million people into poverty in Southeast Asia a region already plagued by relentless poverty,
Note Added Wednesday Afternoon, 3/16/22: Americans are getting on with life as mask mandates are rescinded around the United States. The sick Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), however, maintains an indoor mask policy for students due to pressure from the sick teachers union; the United Teachers Lost Angeles (UTLA). Parents are protesting with signs reading, "Stop the Child Abuse" and "Ditch Masks Now." Parents chant, "My kid, my choice." Americans are sick of the authoritarian rule during the pandemic.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/17/22, at 4:00 AM EST: Happy St Patrick's Day; a day when everyone's Irish. The US is approaching the 995K deaths grim milestone. 982 Americans perish from COVID-19 yesterday and the 7-day MA continues lower to 943 deaths per day. The US reports 30K daily new cases and the 7-day MA is at 30K cases per day. The downward path in US cases becomes more gradual (the daily rate of change in lower cases decreases). Oh no. New York reports a bump higher in daily new cases to 3.3K the most in a month. Is this the BA2 Omicron Subvariant raising its ugly head in the United States? One day does not make a trend but perhaps New Jersey can provide further insight but its daily cases are not an issue. Florida, Texas and California remain in good shape with low and dropping case counts. Texas had a mini pop in cases for a couple days but it quickly subsided with cases dropping again. Hopefully, that will be the path of New York. Washington state and Oregon are okay on the West Coast. North Carolina is fine. Other states remain in good shape. New York is the fly in the appointment with the pop in COVID-19 cases yesterday. Looking at the CDC's Wastewater Map that is supposed to be an early warning signal, there is not one red dot (highest transmission) occurring in New York state. Fairfield County in Connecticut is the nearest red dot. Considering the pop in New York cases yesterday, the dots in New York should all be orange and red. So much for the wastewater warning system. Ohio is covered in red dots at its wastewater facilities and yet there is no sign of cases increasing in the Buckeye State.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/17/22, at 5:00 AM EST: France reports 117K daily new cases a big bump higher the most cases in 5 weeks. The BA2 subvariant slaps the wine and baguette out of French hands. Italy reports 87K daily new cases a big jump higher the most since early February. BA2 is raising its ugly head in central and southern Europe spreading southward from northern Europe (Denmark and Germany) and the UK. Israel detects a new COVID-19 mutation in a couple returning from a trip abroad. The variant is a combination of the Omicron Variant and its BA2 Omicron Subvariant. It is not given a name and not expected to create any more of a problem than the ongoing omicron variants. Israel also detects the Deltacron Variant in travelers from Europe which is a combination of the Delta Variant and the Omicron Variant, specifically the BA2 subvariant, but it is not creating any widespread problems as yet. Germany continues to struggle at containing its BA2 outbreak. Switzerland reports a big jump in cases so the BA2 bug is running loose in Europe. China reports 2K daily new cases yesterday below the 3.6 cases the day before. The filthy CCP manipulates the data so the communists may simply not be reporting the numbers. That is what is likely occurring in Hong Kong that is now a dirtbag communist city. Hong Kong deaths keep racking-up at nearly 3 hundo per day for the last 2 weeks. The South Korea Hellhole reports over 400K daily new cases yesterday another record. The outbreak is out of control with the death rate parabolic at 231 bodies per day. The South Korean government downplays the situation saying that the testing program is robust and that is why the case count is so high. They say other nations have cut back on their testing. South Korea says the death rate is held in check which shows that they have a handle on the outbreak. Hey jackasses, you just registered the deadliest day of the pandemic. Are you actually that clueless South Korea? Or in denial? South Korea was the poster child on how to properly handle the pandemic in 2020 but in 2022 the nation is in shambles. Vietnam and Thailand remain a mess. Malaysia is showing signs that the worst of the outbreak is over although conditions remain challenging. New Zealand's daily new cases remain elevated.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/17/22, at 9:00 AM EST: President Biden proclaims that the United States enters "a new moment in the pandemic." Since the endemic phase begins, and Whitehouse COVID-19 Coordinator Jeff Zient would like to return to private life, Biden accepts his resignation, thanks him for his service, and appoints Brown University's School of Public Health Dean Dr Ashish Jha to the position. Jha appears frequently on all networks including the democrat-run CNN and MSNBC cable news outlets and the republican-run Fox News and Newsmax media outlets. It will be interesting to see if Jha can parlay his broad communication skills across both political parties now that he will be lying in bed with the democrat tribe. The official transition from Zients to Jha takes place next month. Biden feels Jha is well-suited to handle the endemic phase stressing treatments and therapies in addition to vaccines. Jha will also have to be ready if any surprise outbreak wave occurs out of left field like the US waves 5 (delta) and 6 (omicron). Jha is well-liked but things are different when you become part of the executive hierarchy. It's a lot different being a boss of the guys than when you used to be one of the guys. You start eating lunch Alone.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/17/22, at 10:00 AM EST: Fauci emerges from hiding opining, moaning, that he will be removed if a new republican Congress takes over after the mid-term elections in November. Considering that Biden's approval rating is in the tank for not handling the pandemic well and other mistakes like Afghanistan, it is likely that the republicans will control both the House and Senate come next year. Democrats went full wacko to the radical left thinking that solar cells and windmills will solve the world's problems. Naïve idiots. The democrats will likely get trounced because of Biden's unexpected radical agenda that sends inflation to the moon. Sleepy Joe was hired to handle the pandemic but he bungled it while making a mess in several other areas such as immigration and foreign affairs. Dr Fauci should do the country a favor and retire now. The only reason he does not is probably because he wants to maintain control of the narrative around the Wuhan Lab leak and gain of function research scandals. Fauci and Collins are up to their eyeballs in controversy for allegedly funding dangerous research, through a third-party EcoHealth, that was disavowed by US authorities. Fauci was wrong far too many times during the last 2 years to be labeled an expert. He is a mess of contradictions and ten-dollar college words. 'Diminution' is a favorite. The problem with the Fauch is not his numerous errors in judgement and direction, everyone knows it is a once in a century pandemic and there will be changes occurring in real-time, but in his arrogance and refusal to ever admit he is wrong. At the same time he has the cojones to proclaim himself as Mr Science and knowing of all things science. It is laughable and a statement only made by a jackass. Humorously, Fauci is often wrong, but never in doubt. Fauci never thought of the greater consequences of his medical directives (economic, social, educational, etc...). He only thinks in medical terms and does not consider the big picture. The House Select Committee is conducting a hearing on 3/30/22, and CDC Director Dr Walensky and Surgeon General Dr Vivek Murthy will be participating. Fauci was invited but it does not appear that he will participate in the hearing. Lord Fauci needs to do America a favor and resign and go fishing with Collins; they can spend time getting their gain of function research funding stories straight.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/17/22, at 11:00 AM EST: Records reveal that Moderna CEO Sephane Bancel sold over $400 million of MRNA stock as the pandemic plays out and price goes to the moon at the end of last year. The stock is well off its highs but like any insider trader, he knows what is going on with the company and pandemic so he adjusts his portfolio accordingly hiding behind loose transparency laws. That's the way it is done in the crony capitalism system. It is fun if you are wealthy and in the elite privileged class, not so much if you are not. America's crony capitalism system is in its last throes and failed for two simple reasons; human corruption (greed) and non-transparency. It is the way humans are wired; nothing has changed throughout the eons. Even in a pandemic with massive human suffering, people always find a way to make a buck off of it. At the same time, Moderna and Pfizer now have 210 million vaccinated American guinea pigs for the new mRNA shots. Ka-ching. COVID-19 is manna from heaven for Big Pharma.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/17/22, at 11:30 AM EST: Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin tests positive for rCOVID-19 only hours before he was set to meet with President Biden. It is another breakthrough case since Martin is fully vaccinated adn apparently forgot to bring his lucky four-leaf clover on the trip abroad. Biden and Pelosi may have interacted with Martin over the last day. Moderna submits data asking for approval for a fourth shot, the booster-booster, following the Pfizer/BioNTech request a few days ago. Moderna, however, is seeking broad approval (anyone over 18 years old). Pfizer is seeking approval for patients over 65 years old. The Whitehouse tells Congress that more COVID-19 funding is needed to secure supplies of vaccines, monoclonal antibody treatments and anti-viral pills. If BA2 hits American shores, will bumbling Biden be bungling the pandemic response again?
Note Added Friday Morning, 3/18/22, at 7:00 AM EST: The US reports 35K daily new cases but we need the numbers to go sub 30K going forward. The 7-day MA trend line is sub 30K at 29.8K daily new cases per day but individual days must be below 30K to keep dragging the 7-day MA lower. The 3-day MA for daily new cases continues to print lower lows and lower highs; a great trend that needs to remain. The 1 million US deaths watch continues with the count crossing 996K dead bodies less than 4K away. 931 Americans die yesterday with the 7-day MA dropping below 900 to 899 American deaths per day the lowest since last August 7 months ago. That will make you smile, as Steve sings. Folks must be receiving the treatments and therapies they need. Fauci is concerned about the pop in UK cases due to BA2 and says another outbreak may occur in the US. New York reports 2,327 cases below the prior day's 3,305 cases. The 7-day MA for New York's daily new cases is at 2.1K cases per day and rising; not good. New York has to be watched closely to see if any of the Europeans, or Brit's, visiting the Big Apple are bringing along the BA2 bug as a gift.
Note Added Friday Morning, 3/18/22, at 8:00 AM EST: Damn. The world reports 2.1 million daily new cases for yesterday a punch in the face the most cases in a month. The world's 7-day MA trend line is up to 1.7 million cases per day. This is disappointing but reflects the new trouble with the BA2 Omicron Subvariant smacking Europe. France reports 117K daily new cases on Tuesday, 109K on Wednesday and 102K cases yesterday. The numbers are elevated but perhaps, hopefully, stalling. The BA2 waves for daily cases may simply be small bumps higher that appear after the large inverted V omicron pattern. Netherlands displays this behavior. Same dealio in Italy reporting 2 days of cases slightly off the Tuesday high at 87K cases. Same deal in Switzerland. Germany, however, is slapped silly by BA2 with nearly 300K daily cases yesterday at record highs. The Germans need to put the beer stein down, kiss the pretty girl in the dirndl dress goodnight, and go home since the parties and other activities are spreading BA2 efficiently across the Deutschland. Germany has 3.9 million active COVID-19 cases the most ever. The UK reports 90K daily new cases yesterday bad news the most in 6 weeks and highest for the smaller BA2 wave of daily cases. Dr Fauci saw this number and sounds the alarm bells since what happens in the UK typically happens in the US a few weeks later. Thus, a small BA2 Omicron Subvariant spike may be in the offing for the US that is currently looking forwards to happy times ahead. New York will be a key test case to see if BA2 is coming into the States from Europe and the UK. Everyone likes to travel through New York airports so they can puff their chests out and brag to their friends and family back home that they were in New York. Oh my. Have mercy. South Korea reports 621K daily new cases for yesterday, 3/17/22, a humongous all-time record high. Koreans are not Irish and are handed bad luck on St Patty's Day. Oh no. 429 South Koreans die yesterday the deadliest day ever. Hong Kong's daily cases continue improving but the case numbers are questionable. Nearly 300 Hong Kong folks continue dying per day. Hong Kong authorities (CCP) tell citizens to report their COVID-19 home test results or face disciplinary action. You're all communists now, Hong Kong. China reports cases for 2 days below the 3.6K jump in cases Tuesday but they are not reporting what is really going on. China's active cases leap to 15K people under doctor's care which does not jive with the small daily numbers reported. Messing with data has ripple effects and it is easy for a mathematician to identify the lies. Never try to fool a mathematician. The world hopes that the Chinese pull through the omicron wave without too much damage but considering that there is next to no natural immunity, and they have junk vaccines Sinovac and Sinopharm, it may be a rocky road forward far bumpier than the 1K cases that the lying CCP says occurred yesterday. Communists lie, that is what they do.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 3/19/22, at 4:00 AM EST: The world reports 1.8 million daily new cases pulling back from the 2.1 million the prior day a positive development. The BA2 spurts may be short-lived small waves. Europe will lead the way. Germany remains a mess with over 284K daily new cases one of the reasons the world's cases inch higher. German deaths are flatlining at about 200 dead bodies per day. The Netherlands is on the downside of its small BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave. France and Italy are working through their BA2 waves that will hopefully remain small. The active cases curves curl higher for both nations which is lousy news because it means the healthcare workers are busier this week than last week and next week the caseloads will be higher. Spain and Portugal look fine so far. The UK crosses the 20million total cases milestone and reports 2 days of cases over 90K the highest for the, so far, smaller BA2 wave. The UK, France and Italy are going to tell the world a lot about the new BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave and what may be in store for the US in a month or two. The damn pandemic is relentless and never-ending. Boom. The wheels fall off in Thailand. Wealthy men refuse to postpone their erotic vacations to Bangkok and bingo, daily cases catapult higher over 27K cases yesterday the most ever for Thailand. The tourism industry is Thailand's top industry but unfortunately, bodies carry around coronavirus. 80 people die in Thailand from China Virus yesterday the most since early November over 4 months ago. South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and China (including Hong Kong) remain plagued by COVID-19.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 3/19/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The US exceeds 997K total deaths inching closer to the tragic 1 million deaths grim milestone. New York exceeds 5.1 million total cases and reports over 2K cases per day since the big 3.3K daily new cases on Tuesday, 3/15/22. It is good to see that the cases are not taking off dramatically higher, at least not yet, but unfortunately, the 3-day MA trend line is starting to print higher highs and higher lows; not good. New York's 7-day MA trend line for daily new cases is at 2.1K per day and increasing the most in about 2 weeks. It is likely infected travelers from Europe are landing in the Big Apple. Damn. New Jersey was hanging in there but reports a 1.5K pop in cases yesterday the most since late February. Massachusetts reports a little bump in cases to 882 that will require watching. Connecticut, New Hampshire, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida are okay not showing any signs of trouble. New York is a bit more encouraging than the way it looked a couple days ago since the infections are not going crazy as yet but seeing the cases pop in New Jersey and perhaps Massachusetts is concerning. These 3 states will be the test cases for the potential BA2 wave. Let's hope it is a pig in a poke. The vaccine type may be playing a key role in the global omicron and now BA2 subvariant outbreaks. Asia is having a tough time handling the omicron wave perhaps because of the less effective vaccines? Europe has had its fits and starts with vaccine drama over the last year and some nations are now experiencing a small (this is not yet confirmed) BA2 wave pattern. Perhaps this situation is due to the hodgepodge of vaccine types in use across the continent? The United States is in herd immunity with most everyone either dead from China Flu, suffering long-covid, having natural immunity from an infection or vaccinated. The only other folks remaining are people living private and reclusive lives in rural areas. In addition, the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, despite 15 months of drama, are doing a good job at preventing people from dying. Even though the shots do not stop the virus from infecting the person, or the person carrying the virus and infecting others, they are likely the best vaccines available in the world right now; another good thing. Hope springs eternal in springtime and perhaps BA2 will be a non-issue in the States. New York will be the guide. America should be counting the folks entering New York from the UK, Germany, France and Italy, since this data may be useful going forward. The CDC says one-fourth of the new infections in the US are the BA2 subvariant with more occurring in the northeast. Looking at the CDC's Wastewater Map to try and cross-reference daily cases, shows three red dots (high infections) in New York; one in Nassau County, southern New York, and two in Niagra and Monroe Counties which are at the northern border. This hints that infections may be moving in from Canada. The jury remains out on how helpful the wastewater data will be in forecasting outbreaks. The CDC says one-third of the wastewater samples in the US currently show an increase in COVID-19 (all strains). Daily new cases remain a superior forecasting tool. The CDC simply has to get their data tabulation and charting into real-time mode where the daily new case numbers are at most only a day or so behind. The CDC should reach out to Worldometer to assess their data collection techniques and see what can be used to get the CDC data to update faster. You cannot drive a car if looking in the rearview mirror. The wastewater map shows a red dot for Hampton County, Massachusetts, so that will need watched closely.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 3/19/22, at 6:00 AM EST: The CDC's COVID-19 community transmission is a sea of green which means ditch the masks. There are pockets of infections in Kentucky, West Virginia, Maine, Montana, and a few smaller outbreaks in counties in a few other states. Over 98% of America is green and maskless. The CDC should promote the community transmission map because if a BA2 wave hits, people need to know if things are going bad again. The majority of Americans probably do not even know the map exits and if they do they do not know where to find it. The map can be used to provide further directions if COVID-19 comes back for another bite of the American apple. It is a good tool but useless if people do not know how to easily find it. For now, things are groovy in the US with wave 6 in the rearview mirror but a hairy eyeball is required on New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts due to bumps in daily cases.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 3/19/22, at 11:00 AM EST: Dr Ashish Jha, that will be the new Whitehouse COVID-19 Coordinator next month replacing Jeff Zients, is interviewed on NBC television (democrat-run media), and says he is not expecting a big surge from BA2 but "we have to be driven by data as we have throughout the whole pandemic (humorously, who's data?)." Jha promotes vaccinations and tells folks to get boosted. He says the jury is out with the fourth shot but it may be useful for older folks. He is asked about the relaxation of masking and other guidelines and if it is too soon. Dr Jha says, "I actually think we will be okay." Jha is focused on getting the US and world vaccinated as well as insuring that the United States has adequate supplies of vaccines, tests, masks, monoclonal antibodies, anti-viral oral pills and other treatments, therapies, supplies and equipment. It appears Jha is on solid footing with a path forward.
Note Added Saturday Afternoon, 3/19/22: The news is dominated by Russia's war against Ukraine but the stories on the BA2 Omicron Subvariant are increasing. The doctors and scientists claim that the triple vaccination provides some protection against BA2. The refrain that shots protect against severe hospitalization and death continues. Most everyone knows now you can still become infected with covid and spread the virus if vaccinated. The multiple shot series should be called a COVID-19 death prevention protocol rather than a vaccine. Initial research indicates that there is some immunity protection provided against the BA2 Omicron Subvariant if the person had been infected with the BA1 Omicron Variant (B11529 Botswana/South Africa Variant (omicron)) but the protection is not robust. The BA2 Omicron Subvariant news will likely ramp-up in the week ahead. The WHO says the pandemic is far from over but they have been saying this for 2 years. There is concern that countries are lifting their covid restrictions as the BA2 bug raises its ugly head.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 3/20/22, at 2:00 AM EST: Happy First Day of Spring in the northern hemisphere. The world crosses the 470 million total cases threshold. Earthlings, worn-out and suffering fatigue from the 2-year pandemic, yawn at another terrible milestone. China's 7-day MA trend line of daily new cases is going parabolic at 2.1K cases per day but the commie numbers cannot be trusted (it's worse). There are 19K active China Virus cases in China. Red China remains at zero deaths for the current outbreak. Do you believe this lie? Hong Kong's daily new cases continue to subside but the commie numbers are questionable. Hong Kong businesses are pressuring dirtbag communist chief executive Carrie Lam to relax the COVID-19 restrictions due to the damage to the economy. Hong Kong companies are hurting and their complaints are especially loud concerning international and domestic (China) travel restrictions. Their businesses are getting killed. Interestingly, as these companies and banks pressure Lam's government in Hong Kong, the daily cases start moving lower, and she says restrictions may be relaxed in the days ahead. Fancy that. Nearly 300 Hong Kong folks continue dying day after day. Reminiscent of the worst days of the US outbreaks, Hong Kong is running out of room for the dead bodies. Morgues are piling up. Crematoriums are going 24/7. Storage containers are parked at morgues to house the overflow of dead bodies. The unvaccinated elderly folks are wiped out. Nearly 90% of the Hong Kong deaths are people 70 years old and older. Families are not getting a chance to say goodbye to their loved ones. Perhaps the filthy communists purposely did not vaccinate older folks since it would be a natural culling mechanism? Communists view old people as a burden to society so using COVID-19 is an easy way to trim the herd without controversy. Humans can be sick bastards especially communists. America's social security system is in far better shape (solvency-wise) after that pandemic than before (less old folks especially old obese people with comorbidities). The rumor mill, and a piece by Bloomberg, say the majority of vaccinated deaths in Hong Kong occurred in folks that received the Sinovac vaccine. Thus, if a loved one is in China (now including commie Hong Kong) and received either the junk Sinovac vaccine or the junk Sinopharm vaccine, hope that it is at least the Sinopharm shots they received. South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand remain a mess. Thailand reports 2 days of daily cases over 26K the highest ever. Take a trip to Thailand and you can get an STD and COVID-19 in one trip; a twofer.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 3/20/22, at 2:30 AM EST: In Europe, Germany continues reporting daily new cases at record levels above 280K per day but lifts its covid measures. Huh? Maybe they want the record numbers to continue? Germany's active COVID-19 cases are over 4 million a new record high which should represent packed hospitals, however, authorities insist that the caseloads are manageable. If this is true, it means Germany has boatloads of long-covid patients that remain under care but are not in hospitals. Germany is considering a vaccine mandate for citizens over 50 years old but a decision may not occur for a few weeks. Dirtbag politicians love the power of authoritarian rule. European leaders, scientists and talking heads opine that the lifting of social distancing and mask regulations has created the bump higher in BA2 infections. France's 7-day MA of daily new cases is at 86K cases per day moving higher. Ditto Italy at 68K cases per day. These are two great test cases to study the BA2 daily cases wave formation and pattern. Also the UK where the 7-day MA drops over the last day to 65K cases per day from 75K a great development. If these 3 puppies can display daily cases curves that are small bumps that roll back over, the world can live with that. Switzerland has a bigger BA2 wave than the UK, France or Italy but it remains below the peaks of its BA1. Switzerland reports its 7-day MA rolling over, actually dropping like a rock, to 22K cases per day from the peak at over 28K cases per day. This is good news. The BA2 wave in daily cases appears to be smaller than the BA1 wave (ignoring Denmark and Germany). For this new BA2 daily cases chart pattern, Switzerland leads the parade. The UK is following Switzerland's lead with its daily cases perhaps rolling over and the hope is that France and Italy will then follow suit all proving that the BA2 wave is a small bump. The story will be told this week and if BA2 hits American shores in 2 to 4 weeks, the examples of Switzerland, UK, France and Italy will be the guide.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 3/20/22, at 3:00 AM EST: The US is coming up on the 998K deaths grim milestone inching ever closer to the terrible 1 million dead bodies. It is a good time for casket makers to ask for pay raises. America is down to 26K cases per day as per the 7-day MA. The 7-day MA trend line for US daily deaths drops to 774 deaths per day and falling like a rock the lowest in over 7 months. Great news for the first day of spring. It is a shame the fantastic news in America is overshadowed by the BA2 subvariant hiding in the bushes. New York's daily cases are averaging about 2.2K per day increasing but gradually and not in any violent way. BA2 may be a pig in a poke for the US. Let's hope so. The weekend case numbers will be lower in the US so a few more days will be needed to assess BA2's potential trouble.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 3/20/22, at 11:00 AM EST: Fauci is interviewed on the ThisWeekABC political show (democrat-run media), and says the new BA2 Omicron Subvariant is 50% to 60% more transmissible. Lord Fauci cannot help himself from embellishing information to create attention and dramatic imagery. For the last month, everyone in Europe, the US, at the CDC, the WHO, even Keystone's driver, a Pakistani dude with a bad haircut, proclaim that BA2 is 30% more transmissible than the initial BA1 Omicron Variant. Not Lord Fauci that rises from his NIAID throne to decree that BA2 is 60% more contagious. Run for cover! Protect the women and children! Fauci has a flair for the dramatic specializing in fear-mongering. It is generally accepted that the new BA2 strain is about 30% more contagious than BA1 but perhaps Anthony has brand new information. 60% is a far more worrisome number and perhaps the idea is to make folks so afraid they run to get their booster shots, or first shot. Instead, people yawn and wonder out loud if the ice cream stand is open now that the pandemic is over. Fauci does not expect another surge in cases due to the new subvariant despite the rising cases in Europe and Asia. This is positive news and Dr Jha had the same message yesterday (they both receive the same hymn sheet for this weekend). Fauci is pimping the vaccinations as usual. He says the new subvariant does not appear to cause more severe illness or evade the protection provided by natural immunity or vaccination. He says an uptick in cases may occur but it should not lead to another big surge. Fauci does not see the United States returning to strict covid measures but says, "You always have to have flexibility." Surgeon General Dr Vivek Murthy appears on Fox News (republican-run media) and opines about the lack of funding for COVID-19 from Congress. Murthy says, "Covid has not gone away." Murthy pimps the vaccinations and boosters which is his job. Murthy says, "There may be rises and falls in cases in the months ahead. But here's the key, our goal is to keep people out of the hospital, it's to save their lives, and we have more tools to do that than ever before. So our focus should be on preparation, not on panic. And if we get people these tools, vaccines, boosters, treatments, then we can actually get through waves that may come and go."
Note Added Sunday Evening, 3/20/22: Dirtbag Hong Kong chief executive Lam says the omicron daily cases wave may have peaked. She continues to receive pressure from companies and businesses to relax the covid restrictions especially for travel because of the damage to the economy. Lam is speaking today and may relax restrictions for Hong Kong. In China, the Shenzhen lockdown is getting lifted but Shanghai's infection rate is worsening. The Shanghai Disneyland Resort is shutdown.
Note Added Monday Morning, 3/21/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The world's 7-day MA for daily new cases rolls over to 1.63 million cases per day below the prior day's 1.69 million. Take the victories where you can get them. Omicron is running its course in Asia and the European BA2 outbreaks may not be as bad as feared. The world's death rate continues to fall like a rock a beautiful sight down to 4.9K deaths per day going sub 5K per day. 4,905 earthlings are dying from COVID-19 each day on the planet of 7.67 billion people. That is 0.00000064 or 0.000064% of the world's population. Only 1 in every 1.6 million people on Earth are dying each day from China Virus. If you ask the average person in any country, they likely think the death rate is far higher. China's daily new cases continue higher at 2.1K per day. There are 20K active COVID-19 cases in China. Hong Kong reports 14K daily new cases well off the peak at 80K on 3/3/22 and the 7-day MA trend line drops to 22K cases per day. It is good news but the numbers are questionable since many Hong Kong residents are not reporting positive tests for fear of ending up in one of China's quarantine facilities they call concentration camps. Lam's communist government wants a low case count to justify relaxing restrictions to help the economy. Filthy commie Lam proclaims that the successful handling of the outbreak illustrates the strength of the One Country, Two Systems arrangement. It is laughable. Hong Kong knows it is nothing but a dirtbag communist city now; the mainland took it over. Lam visits the mainland once a week to spend a few minutes under Dictator Xi's desk worshipping the sick CCP's ideas. Such is the world in 2022. Hong Kong buckles under the business pressure and announces plans to cut the covid isolation time in half and reopen travel to other nations, specifically Western countries including the US and UK, starting 4/1/22. The dirtbag commie fool Lam picks April Fool's Day for the reopening how appropriate. It is a shame the Hong Kong and Chinese folks have to live under the CCP's dictatorial, authoritarian and communist rule but they have to ,otherwise, they receive a bullet between the eyes. South Korea reports over 330K daily new cases the numbers remain elevated but the 7-day MA at 402K cases per day should top-out and begin dropping this week. Same-o for Vietnam. Thailand remains a mess with record-setting daily and active cases. New Zealand is on the mend with the 7-day MA's for both the daily and active cases dropping.
Note Added Monday Morning, 3/21/22, at 5:30 AM EST: Switzerland and the UK have peaked with their daily cases as per the 7-day MA trend lines. The UK's 7-day MA for daily new cases drops for 2 days now down to 57K cases per day. Prime Minister Boris Johnson should throw a party; on second thought, maybe not. Perhaps BA2's bark is worse than its bite. France's daily new cases continue trending higher over 80K per day and Italy at 70K cases per day. It is key that France and Italy follow the same daily new cases chart pattern, a small bump, as the UK and Switzerland since that will identify the BA2 wave pattern and the likely path for the United States if BA2 would become an issue over the coming weeks. Spain and Portugal do not show any sign yet of a BA2 bump in cases so the covid news may improve greatly across the pond after this week. Germany finally catches a break with the 7-day MA of daily new cases dropping to 206K cases per day a welcome sight, even though it remains highly elevated, since it indicates that the top is in. Denmark was the poster child for BA2 and the new subvariant extended its daily cases curve. Similar behavior occurs in Germany with the BA1 omicron wave morphing into the BA2 wave. The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and UK, however, are showing a separate small bump for the BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave and this pattern needs to repeat for France and Italy. Seeing the four nations work through the small BA2 bump is encouraging since the wave is not serious or catastrophic. Also on the bright side, the deaths remain in check across Europe with BA2 causing no appreciable rise. Fingers are crossed that BA2 bump may be the last gasp of the China Virus monster.
Note Added Monday Morning, 3/21/22, at 6:00 AM EST: The US reports 12K cases for Saturday and Sunday's number is not tallied yet but should be single digits. Lord Fauci says the pandemic is ending and in the endemic phase when cases drop below 10K per day. The US 7-day MA for daily cases is down to 24K cases per day. The US death rate drops to 719 souls per day. New York's daily new cases continue sneaking incrementally higher to 2.2K per day. Perhaps BA2 in the States will be a micro bump pattern? Hopefully, BA2 will be a non-issue for America but the CDC says one-half the current cases are the new subvariant. New Jersey reports 513 daily new cases for Sunday and the 7-day MA trends a hair higher, like New York, to 807 cases per day. BA2 is not an issue in the States as yet with daily cases remaining well-behaved across the country. The US is looking good and spring has sprung.
Note Added Monday Afternoon, 3/21/22: CNN cable news (democrat-run media) runs a story on the BA2 Omicron Subvariant repeating Fauci's line that the new bug is 50% to 60% more transmissible. They must be trying to cover his butt reinforcing the incorrect message to the public. Comically, only 6 days ago, CNN's own reporting says the BA1 subvariant is 30% more transmissible. The studies for the last 2 months say BA2 is 30% more transmissible than the initial BA1 Omicron Variant (B11529 Botswana/South Africa). Maybe Fauci is quoting some new study that cannot be found as yet but even so, what about the studies that always said 30%? 60% is way out of line especially since the BA2 wave patterns for daily cases are only shadows of the original strain but Lord Fauci is Mr Science. The 60% is likely touted to goad people into taking more shots. An article is published in JAMA saying that women contracting COVID-19 while pregnant face higher risks. The message of the article is that pregnant women need to be vaccinated but that decision is between the lady, her significant other, the family, and of course her doctor/s.
Note Added Monday Evening, 3/21/22: Scott Gottlieb, previously with the FDA and sitting on the Pfizer board, says the COVID-19 vaccination is likely going to be an annualized shot. It has been an interesting transition. During 2020, with King Donnie the orange-headed carnival clown still in power, Americans were told a single vaccination is coming to end the pandemic. Then folks are eased into the idea that it will likely be a 2-shot initial series and inoculations begin about 15 months ago with Sleepy Joe, the confused Alzheimer patient, taking power. About a half-year into the vaccinations last July 2021, the breakthrough cases escalate due to the start of waning vaccine efficacy. The public is then told a booster shot will be needed now totaling 3 shots. At the same time, Americans realize that the vaccinations only provide limited protection against infection or transmitting the disease. Vaccinated parents sicken their children but instead blame unvaccinated people. The public is now being prepared for a fourth shot; the booster-booster. Gottlieb then says it will be annual event so the magical COVID-19 Holy Grail vaccination panacea goes from 1-shot to multiple unlimited shots forever in a span of 1-1/2 years.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 3/21/22, at 6:00 AM EST: The world's daily new cases are at 1.6 million per day. Last Thursday, 3/17/22, there was the pop to 2.1 million cases so this Thursday, 3/24/22, is a key number that will hopefully be well below 2.1 million proving the downtrend is reasserting itself. China's average cases are at 2.2K per day and rising. Hong Kong is improving and the deaths drop to 263 per day on average. A lot of the elderly Hong Kong folks are killed-off by China Virus over the last month. A lot of elderly also died in Japan and South Korea over the last 2 months but most other Asian nations did not see big bumps in deaths. South Korea's average deaths continue higher at 309 souls per day many from Seoul. Fortunately, South Korea's and Vietnam's daily cases are topping-out right now. Thailand remains in trouble; the virus loves two hot bodies comingling in the room above the café. Thailand reports 80 covid deaths per day and rising. New Zealand is on the mend but sadly reports 12 deaths yesterday the deadliest day of the pandemic.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 3/22/22, at 6:30 AM EST: Germany's daily new cases remain elevated but show signs of topping-out. Ditto the UK with cases averaging 78K per day moving lower the BA2 bump is running its course. Netherlands and Switzerland also show the daily new cases topping out for the BA2 subvariant wave. Belgium is in the process of topping-out with the BA2 daily cases. France is at 90K cases per day and Italy at 70K cases per day, on average, and both should top-out this week. Spain and Portugal remain in great shape without any signs of BA2 in the daily cases. Austria reports a big jump in cases over the last week spiking to 58K daily cases last Wednesday. As fast as the mayhem appears in Austria, the daily cases may have already peaked. Austria's active cases are over 400K the highest ever so folks are in the hospital and many are receiving treatment and recovering at home. Austria reimposes its indoor mask mandate to help stop the spread. The world is looking good despite the ongoing drama in Asia and Europe so global COVID-19 cases should begin dropping again.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 3/22/22, at 7:00 AM EST: The US continues the slow descent in daily new cases at 26K cases per day. Finally, the US active cases curve (see updated chart above on Worldometer) drops like a rock to 17 million active cases clearly displaying the coveted bell shape verifying that the virus is on the run and being defeated. There are not a lot of news stories anymore about packed hospitals so things must be returning to normal and healthcare workers receiving the rest they deserve. In only 6 weeks, the US drops from over 27 million active COVID-19 cases down to 17 million a near -40% reduction. 232 Americans die yesterday with the 7-day MA trend line down to 708 deaths per day. That's better than over 2,700 dying per day only 7 weeks ago. The Pfizer Paxlovid pills and GSK Sotrovimab monoclonal antibody treatments, and other treatments and therapies, and the vaccines, are greatly improving America's mortality rate from China Flu. Several US states are moaning about keeping track of COVID-19 data. The cases are becoming so small they are asking 'why bother?'. South Dakota's cases drop to 28 cases per day as per the 7-day MA trend line; only a couple dozen in the entire state each day. Wyoming is reporting cases once per week or only every few days since the numbers are becoming so small. Conversely, cases in New York state are averaging 2.3K per day and rising. America looks good although there is a spurt of new cases in Kentucky the last few days. This may simply be a data reporting issue with Kentucky so give it a few days.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 3/22/22, at 8:00 AM EST: The US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, that leads the republican tilt of the court, is hospitalized yesterday and the media is quick to say it is not COVID-19. Thomas is triple-vaccinated. A few hours after the initial story, Thomas is experiencing flu-like symptoms. Come on now. If it walks and quacks like a breakthrough case, it is probably a breakthrough case, but a justice would surely not lie, right? The Whitehouse, CDC and democrat-run media (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, New York Times, Washington Post (Bezos)) routinely muzzle stories about breakthrough cases for fear that it will deter vaccinations.
Note Added Tuesday Afternoon, 3/22/22: The Whitehouse press secretary Jen Psaki tests positive for COVID-19 for the second time (Psaki and her family were sick with China Virus last October). She is triple vaccinated so it is another breakthrough case. Psaki proclaims that she is experiencing mild symptoms, thanks to the vaccines, spouting the liberal talking point like a dog barking for a treat. President Biden tests negative for COVID-19. Psaki was doing her job spouting-off to reporters in the press room so the journalists are likely sitting on their porcelain throne in the bathroom at home, reading the back of a free covid test box, and wondering if Psaki made them sick. The free covid tests at covidtests.gov come in handy for the Whitehouse reporters now texting one another to find out if anyone is sick from standing next to Peppermint Patty (Psaki). Bigger news. Former New York Senator Hillary Clinton, wife of former President Bill "Slick Willie" Clinton, tests positive for COVID-19 another triple vaccinated breakthrough infection. Like the old joke with the flu shots where folks say, "get the shot, get the flu," now they say, "get the shots, get covid." The 74-year old is experiencing mild symptoms and proclaims the Whitehouse, CDC and democrat media talking points telling Americans to "get vaccinated." A lot of good it did her (as the peanut gallery yells-out that the the multiple shot series prevents death). That is well and good and since she is handing out advice, that means she can also take it. Lady, you need to lose a lot of weight from your obese butt and perhaps you would not be as sickly all the time. But, like many Americans, they do not want to hear the direct truth. It is easier to live a slovenly life, sitting daily, eating unhealthy snacks, and then rely on the medical industry to save their sorry arses in their sick senior years. Such is life in 2022. The CDC says about one-third of the COVID-19 cases are the BA2 Omicron Subvariant, however, they said it was one-half the cases a week ago. Are the BA2 cases decreasing in the States, or was the CDC reporting incorrect numbers one week ago?
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/23/22, at 3:00 AM EST: The world's death rate continues dropping down to 4.8K deaths per day. China's average daily cases drop from 2.2K per day to 2.0K per day. The communists lock everyone down so infections dissipate quickly. Shanghai reports 981 cases the worse in 2 years, which would be about one-half of the total for the commie country of 1.4 billion people. China's numbers are obviously bogus (cases are higher). Tangshan City is placed into lockdown by the CCP. This northern Hebel province is a steelmaking region. Global steel prices are the highest ever. Automakers wince at the higher prices as well as appliance makers (you will be paying more for cars, refrigerators, stoves and other appliances). Small companies will go under plagued by tight supply of steel and high prices. China is building more than 60 makeshift hospitals with about one-half already built and some in use. If the filthy communists say 60 temporary hospitals it is likely 200 or 300 or more they are actually erecting. The dirtbag CCP figures everyone is stupid, simply does not care, or does not want to call the communists to task, so they tell the world only a handful of people are testing positive for China Virus each day but they need dozens of makeshift hospitals. Never trust a filthy communist (CCP). Hong Kong cases and deaths are moving lower. Singapore and Malaysia are working towards opening-up travel and commerce between the two nations. Both countries display active cases charts that are dropping so their decision has merit but they need to stay vigilant for a couple more weeks to make absolute sure that the omicron bug is defeated. South Korea's 7-day MA for daily new cases rolls over to 387K cases per day a grotesque number but at least it is now heading down. 384 South Koreans die yesterday the second deadliest day ever their souls rise from Seoul. The active cases are also rolling over for Vietnam a great sight. Thailand remains troubled. New Zealand is on the mend with its active cases curve dropping sharply but 14 die yesterday the deadliest day ever. The numbers are small with a dozen deaths on Monday and 14 yesterday but tell that to the grieving families that will not be the same because of the China Flu. The New Zealand deaths are likely with obese individuals with comorbidities. COVID-19 loves fat.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/23/22, at 4:00 AM EST: The UK reports 56K daily new cases yesterday one week after reporting the BA2 peak at nearly 100K cases a great improvement and the 7-day MA for cases rolls over to 77K cases per day heading lower. 250 Brit's die yesterday the most since early February. Germany's cases remain elevated but show signs of peaking this week. Oh no. Things were looking positive for France but not after reporting a big jump to 181K cases yesterday. Sacrebleu! The BA2 subvariant wants to hang around the French cafes for a while. Italy reports 96K cases another record high for the BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave. That's a shame since it looked like France and Italy would peak in daily cases this week but it may spill-over into next week. Same dealio in Malta now reporting the highest cases in 2 months. Nearly 200 Italians die yesterday pushing the total COVID-19 deaths over 158K for the boot-shaped nation a grim milestone. Spain and Portugal continue to not show a rise in daily cases.

Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/23/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The United States reports 999,972 total deaths so it should cross the 1 million grim milestone today or tomorrow. That is a lot of dead bodies. The likely Wuhan Lab leak is a crime against humanity and China needs to pay the world reparations. The US continues improving with daily cases down to 26K per day moving gradually lower and deaths down to 682 per day dropping sharply. The BA2 subvariant is not an issue in the US as yet but perhaps it makes a stealth appearance by flattening the drop in daily cases creating more of a sideways bias. Time will tell. The CDC appears most concerned about the northeast. Maine had a difficult time shaking off its recent outbreak and the wild spike in its daily cases to 5K cases on 2/21/22 the most ever. That may have been a BA2 cluster. Vermont, New Hampshire and all the states in the northeast are looking okay. The cases are flatlining at low levels. New York is a concern over the last week but its 7-day MA trend line for daily new cases drops from 2.3K per day to 2.1K per day (great news). New Jersey is another concern but its cases are flatlining at about 840 per day. BA2 is not yet a problem in America as per the daily new cases. The CDC's community transmission map is a sea of green and the watch begins to see if more of the map turns orange (red) due to BA2; hopefully not. The CDC's wastewater map is showing a mess of dots that looks like glitter spilled on the kitchen table. The jury remains out on what usefulness the wastewater data may provide. The CDC would be better off spending that money on technology and manpower that updates their data collection and reporting in real-time.United States reports 999,972 total deaths so it should cross the 1 million grim milestone today or tomorrow.
The CDC would be better off spending that money on technology and manpower that updates their data collection and reporting in real-time.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/23/22, at 6:00 AM EST: The Moderna vaccine is only 38% effective for children from 2 to 5 years old. The vaccine is about 44% effective for kids from 6 months to 2 years old. Pro-vaccine folks and scientists herald the shots as the Second Coming even at those low effectiveness numbers. COVID-19 is not a high risk for children. There are only 1,114 COVID-19 deaths in children under 18 years old. Ask any person on the street and they will all tell you the number is way higher. It is not. And every death is traced to childhood obesity or other comorbidities that placed the young person in a weakened state. For comparison, the total grim death count in the United States is about to cross 1 million. Covid culls the old and fat. Parents will have to discuss their specific situations with their doctors and then decide what is best for their kids and family as the vaccine approval process continues.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 3/23/22, at 11:00 AM EST: A US Supreme Court spokesperson says Justice Thomas does not have COVID-19. He is only in a hospital for 3 days with a flu-like illness missing his duties on the bench, but it is not coronavirus. There are no details provided on Thomas's illness and he remains in the hospital but the spokesperson keeps repeating that it is not COVID-19. Why such a big deal? All the justices are triple vaccinated.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/24/22, at 4:00 AM EST: The world remains at 1.6 million cases per day with today's daily cases important. The current outbreak, wave 7 for the world, peaks at 2.1 million cases on 3/17/22, last Thursday. Today provides a week-on-week comparison number and it needs to be under 2.1 million to confirm happy times ahead preferably sub 2 million and even below 1.8 million is better. Yesterday is 1.8 million daily new cases a disappointing spurt higher which makes today's case number more critical. The world's deaths continue dropping down to 4.7K deaths per day. China reports its daily new cases rolling over to only 2K cases per day if you believe the CCP. Shanghai is in lockdown with residents complaining that they cannot access fresh food. Hong Kong cases continue dropping down to 16K per day on average. Hong Kong folks continue dying at a high rate only instead of the 300 deaths per day pace for a couple weeks now it is at a 250 dead bodies per day death rate mostly the elderly that the government did not vaccinate (on purpose to cull the older population?). South Korea reports 490K cases a big jump but not near the 621K peak a week ago. Southeast Asia continues to struggle at defeating the covid monster. Oh no. Germany reports 302K daily new cases yesterday the most ever. No wonder the world's cases see a bump higher. Germany hinted that it had topped-out but that only lasted a couple days. Germany is at 4.2 million active covid cases the most ever. Germany reports 331 deaths yesterday a bump higher. The Deutschland needs to get its act together. Switzerland and the Netherlands improve but have to be watched closely since cases in Europe are experiencing a buoyancy this week. Poland and Czechia are not experiencing a rise in daily cases as yet. Cases in Belgium are flatlining and will hopefully retreat. France reports 145K daily new cases an elevated number but at least it is below the prior day's 181K which is helpful. Ditto Italy reporting 76K cases yesterday an elevated number but below the prior day's big spike above 98K cases. Spain and Portugal remain unimpacted by the BA2 subvariant case-wise. Austria is struggling. Oh no. The UK reports over 103K daily new cases the most for the BA2 wave. Just when the UK was looking good, it is punched in the face. The bumps in cases in Europe is concerning. Hopefully, it is a short-lived spurt and the numbers will roll back over again, otherwise, the BA2 bug is going to stick around longer than anyone realizes.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/24/22, at 4:15 AM EST: The initial studies on the BA2 Omicron Subvariant indicate that it is 30% more transmissible (contagious) than the BA1 Omicron Variant (B11529 Botswana/South Africa Variant). On Sunday, Dr Fauci said BA2 is 50% to 60% more transmissible but the source of that information remains a mystery. A study is released over the last week out of England that says the BA2 subvariant is 80% more transmissible. That will get your attention. Thus, the BA2 bug is 30% to 80% more contagious than BA1. Perhaps the higher transmissibility percentage is showing its ugly face in Europe? The contagiousness numbers are hard to quantify as the wide range proves, but rest assured that if a person with COVID-19 sneezes and coughs on you, you likely have a 100% chance of catching China Flu, but if you have limited contact with other humans, your chances of contracting covid are closer to nil.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 3/24/22, at 4:30 AM EST: The UNITED STATES REPORTS 1,001,175 TOTAL COVID-19 DEATHS A GRIM MILESTONE. What a horror China has inflicted on America and the world. China will have to provide all countries on Earth with reparations but obviously, the filthy CCP cannot bring back loved ones. Oh no. New York state reports 3.7K daily new cases yesterday and the 7-day MA trend line is up to 2.3K cases per day. New Jersey is at 929 cases per day and rising slightly. Massachusetts reports 1.2K cases the most in nearly a month. This picture is not looking good. Florida reports over 2K cases yesterday the most in nearly a month. Texas shows a bump in cases. These moves are very tiny but the concern is that tiny bumps in cases grow into huge bumps. New York remains the BA2 test-case state for the United States. There are likely infected European travelers arriving at New York ports and airports bringing BA2 while at the same time over one-third of the new US infections are already BA2. Some regions of the US are reporting that over one-half the COVID-19 infections are the BA2 Omicron Subvariant. The next week or so of daily cases data will likely dictate whether BA2 will be a problem in the States, or not.
Note Added Thursday Afternoon, 3/24/22: New York Mayor Eric Adams rescinds the vaccine mandate rules for athletes and performers. Unvaccinated professional athletes and stage performers are now allowed to participate at New York venues that were only open to vaccinated people. Unvaccinated New York Nets basketball star Kyrie Irving is now allowed to play home games. The Nets basketball team and New York Mets and Yankees baseball teams are no longer subject to vaccine mandates but the rules remain in place for peon workers and citizens subject to the restrictions. Regular Americans including healthcare workers, police officers and firefighters are fired over not getting vaccinated but the privileged elite waltz through life not having to follow the same rules. Go to Hell. The ticket takers, concession stand workers and trash collectors at the Barclay's Center in NYC have to bow before Adams and get vaccinated while professional athletes are excluded. The mayor and elite class fart in New Yorker's faces. Adams cites the importance of these special people to the economy so by default he is telling common New Yorker's that their role in society is not important. Isn't it sickening? And the same jackasses wonder why social unrest is increasing in the United States. People complain about the two America's; it is a 1970's redux. There is one set of rules for the wealthy elite, politicians and celebrities, and the upper middle class sycophants (lawyers, accountants, etc..) that service the wealthy, and a second set of rules for common Americans. The middle class is toast with their jobs shipped overseas to the slave labor nations such as China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc.., over the last few decades. 30 million Americans screwed the other 300 million over the last 5 decades and the 300 million want some of that money back. Do not be surprised as more common Americans tell the elite privileged class, politicians, corporate executives and the power brokers to go to Hell. America's class war begins.
Note Added Friday Morning, 3/25/22, at 3:00 AM EST: The world reports 1.7 million daily new cases yesterday which is great news because one week ago was the peak for this latest wave 7 at 2.1 million cases. In addition, the 1.7 million is a hair lower than the prior 2 days. Perhaps Southeast Asia is making headway on its omicron waves and maybe conditions are improving in Europe where the BA2 bug is wreaking havoc. The world's COVID-19 death rate drops to 4.5K deaths per day not seen since 4/1/20!! Fantastic news. The worldwide deaths from China Virus are down to levels not seen since the early days of the pandemic 2 years ago. The world's death chart displaying this happy development will be provided in tomorrow's Coronavirus Chronology Article 72. China's average daily new cases continue higher to 2.2K per day but the numbers are higher. Preliminary data for today indicates that the cases may set a new record for the current omicron wave with over 5K cases. The Shanghai lockdown is not going well with access to food limited. A nurse dies after a severe asthma attack because a hospital would not admit her for fear of her having China Flu. They do not have to worry anymore as the communists toss her corpse into the incinerator. Shanghai daily cases are running over 1,500 cases per day for the city of over 25 million people. Obviously, the case count in Shanghai and across the country of 1.4 billion is way higher. The people living in the sections of Shanghai in lockdown are frustrated since the harsh isolation keeps getting extended in 2-day increments. Chinese folks are concerned not only about catching covid but also receiving treatment for serious health problems such as heart attacks or strokes (the hospitals will likely let you die if you are from one of the lockdown areas rather than admit you and potentially infect the hospital; red China is a communist state, get with the program, an individual life means nothing in communism unless you are one of the CCP). The natives are getting restless as some Chinese speak out on social media proclaiming that other countries ride the omicron wave up and down over about a month's time but in China, the cities are growing the virus over the last month. Chinese folks are fed-up with the endless covid testing. Dictator Xi has his hands full as the COVID-19 monster, after 2 years, returns to its infected Wuhan womb. Boom. South Korea reports 470 deaths yesterday the deadliest day ever. Thailand continues reporting daily cases at record levels. Thailand and China are the two worst COVID-19 countries in Asia. South Korea and Vietnam are slowly improving in daily case counts.
Note Added Friday Morning, 3/25/22, at 3:30 AM EST: In Europe, Germany reports 305K daily new cases the most ever unable to tame the BA2 beast. UK cases pull back slightly so hopefully the big pop over 107K cases on Tuesday is the top for the BA2 daily cases wave. France reports 149K daily new cases an elevated number but better than the prior day's 181K. Italy reports 82K daily new cases better than Tuesday's high above 98K cases. Malta reports 415 daily cases the most for its BA2 wave now in progress. Belgium reports over 16K daily new cases which will extend its BA2 mini-wave. World leaders including President Biden are in Brussels discussing Russia's war against Ukraine so there are massive entourages of people interacting daily and the BA2 Omicron Subvariant is happy finding plenty of fresh host bodies. Austria reports elevated daily cases near record highs but hints that cases may be topping-out. Spain, Portugal, Poland and Czechia continue reporting low case numbers without any appreciable bumps. The downtrend in Czechia's daily cases have leveled-off sideways. It will be great if the BA2 bug remains in Denmark, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Malta, and other surrounding nations remain clean. The next week will provide the answer.
Note Added Friday Morning, 3/25/22, at 4:00 AM EST: 1,002,259 Americans have died from COVID-19 a grim milestone. It is a hard number to get your head around. The deaths from China Flu are equivalent to the entire population of Austin, Texas, a huge city, being wiped-out over a 2-year period; every man, woman and child. 1 million is 17 American football stadiums of dead people. Americans and other world citizens succumb to the China Virus that likely escaped from the Wuhan Labs. Sick scientists unleash horror upon humanity. How can communist China ever be trusted? Never trust a filthy communist (CCP). America's covid death rate is down to 670 dead bodies per day not seen since early August 7 months ago; great news although 670 families grieve today and many days forward. The US reports 31.7K daily new cases yesterday with the 7-day MA trend line at 27.7K cases per day. The daily cases must be lower than the 7-day MA to keep pulling it lower. The trend in US daily cases remains lower albeit the daily rate of change is slowing and the trend is starting to favor a sideways bias rather than down. The news media continues to erroneously say the data is 'plateauing'. Technical analysts and chartists cringe. Do you typically walk down hill for an hour and when the land levels off you say you are on a plateau? Of course not. That's stupid. When a chart climbs higher and levels off it is plateauing, or peaking, or topping-out, or flatlining. When a chart drops and then takes on a sideways direction it is basing, or leveling-out, or leveling-off, or moving sideways, or assuming a sideways bias, but it is not plateauing. The reason it is not called plateauing after a chart drops is that it can go up again (a plateau is the top). Fauci started using the plateau word a year or more ago and all the little monkeys follow suit. Don't be stupid and do not make chartists cringe. US active cases drop nicely to 16 million forming the coveted bell shape verifying that the omicron wave is defeated, however, the BA2 Omicron Subvariant is hiding in the bushes. The CDC says they are monitoring 19 states that may be experiencing a slight rise in cases. New York is the BA2 test case and it reports 3.6K daily new cases yesterday with the 7-day MA up to 2.5K cases per day; not good. New Jersey remains at about 1K cases per day. Massachusetts reports 1.2K daily new cases yesterday and the 7-day MA is up to 850 cases per day. The UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Italy and Malta are displaying the BA2 daily new cases wave pattern that may appear in the United States (a smaller bump compared to the omicron wave). New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts require close watching since they may serve as the US poster children for the BA2 bug. On the bright side, perhaps the leveling-out and new sideways bias for the US daily new cases indicates enough presence of the subvariant to stall the downtrend in daily cases and that may be as bad as it gets. The New York cases will need to roll back over lower in the days ahead for this happy scenario to play out. There may be a small BA2 wave bump in the offing for America, like the European nations mentioned above, but hopefully it will be a small bump, like a zit, and not grow into a large festering pus-filled boil like Germany.
