Article 102 of the Coronavirus Chronology is not the last article
in the long 3-year pandemic series because China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will not
cooperate. The 200 nations of the world are in or marching towards the endemic
phase with the exception of these three laggards. Perhaps future Article 103
will write the last chapter of the China Virus Bible?
The Lunar New Year holiday in Asia is creating a bump higher
in COVID-19 infections in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Communist China remains
an uncooperative world partner refusing to provide useful COVID-19 data.
Hong Kong (controlled by communist Dictator Xi and the CCP)
stopped reporting its data one week ago. That leaves Taiwan as the only canary
in China’s covid coal mine. The independent island of Taiwan serves as a proxy
for what is likely occurring across mainland communist China.
Unfortunately, Taiwan’s cases jump higher starting a new
infection wave. Taiwan’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The daily new
cases for Thursday are 27K and the 7-day MA is parabolic at 28K cases per day;
not good. The same thing is likely occurring in China with far higher numbers. The
new Taiwan infections are a direct result of the holiday weekend 1/21/23 and
1/22/23.
The 27K cases for Thursday are encouraging since the two
prior days both reported 32K covid cases. Keep your fingers crossed for the
wave to burn-out quickly. 15%, or 1 in 6, new covid cases worldwide are in
Taiwan.
Taiwan’s new infection wave should be short-lived like its
prior wave and that would bode well for China. Xi and the CCP remain quiet
about the pandemic so the increase in covid infections after the holiday on the
mainland remains a mystery.
Now that the bad news is out of the way, the rest of the
world is dancing towards the endemic phase as mentioned above. Three years of
pandemic misery is enough. The COVID-19 news is encouraging and positive each
day for the world and United States. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.
The world’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The world
reports 188K daily new covid cases for Thursday and the 7-day MA trendline is
at 177K cases moving sideways with a downward bias. The daily cases are down to
levels not seen since the start of the pandemic in 2020 but the rate needs to
move lower at a sharper pace.
The world’s daily new deaths chart is shown above. 1,273
earthlings are biting the covid dust each day. Casket makers, urn sellers,
gravediggers and funeral directors cannot believe their riches.
The good news is that the world’s COVID-19 death rate
compares back to the start of the pandemic. The chart clearly shows the
pandemic carnage that finally ran its course into last spring. The last year is
the transition from pandemic to endemic. The expectation is that the endemic
phase is here and global covid deaths will go sub 1,000 per day and a lot
lower.
COVID-19 is a pandemic of the elderly so many folks, even
though they beat covid, may be suffering ongoing health problems that worsen as
their bodies are taxed.
The COVID-19 data is becoming scarce and the reporting
periods are starting to vary greatly among countries. Some countries are not
even keeping track of covid cases anymore because the numbers are tiny. Others
have gone to weekly reporting schedules.
Some nations are skipping reporting weekend numbers and
lumping them into Monday. The covid data is becoming a hodgepodge of sketchy
numbers these days but this is a sign that the endemic phase is here.
Bad news on the Russian Front. Russia reports 9.3K daily new
covid cases for Thursday the most since October 2022. The daily cases are
ramping higher for 3 weeks and the active covid cases are up to 214K covid
patients. The numbers remain small compared to prior waves but the situation
has to be monitored closely.
Russia’s covid cases pop from 3K to 10K in 3 weeks. The
7-day MA trendline for Russia’s daily new covid cases is at 7.6K cases per day
ramping higher. Maybe scumbag Dictator Putin, that continues murdering
Ukrainians, will catch covid and die considering his weakened immune system.
The Ruskies are a lot like the Chinese folks very untrusting
of their government’s COVID-19 vaccines. Lots of Americans think that way as
well. Good luck to the Russian people. Hopefully, the mini-infection bump will
not grow into a bigger wave.
The US daily new cases chart is shown above. The big
mother-of-all Fall/winter infection waves that the doctors and scientists
warned would besiege the United States, turned out to be the little bitty wave
8 pimple bump. Keystone has a bigger bump than that on his keister.
It is easy to make jokes knowing that the worst of the
pandemic is in the rearview mirror and disappearing over the horizon. The US
reports 17K daily new cases for Thursday. It is great to see numbers in the
teens although revisions will likely bump it into the 20K’s.
The 7-day MA for US daily new COVID-19 cases is at 24K cases
per day continuing lower at levels not seen since July 2021. The endemic train
is pulling into the station. The 7-day MA needs to drop below 12K to 15K cases
per day to compare back to the start of the pandemic.
The US active cases chart is shown above. It is not falling
as fast as hoped. It needs to finish forming the bell shape to verify that wave
8, and the pandemic, is over. It is becoming more accepted that COVID-19
hospitalizations and deaths are overreported which is one reason for the active
cases remaining stubbornly high.
Also, covid is a ‘pandemic of the elderly’ so even if old
folks beat the virus, they may remain sick for extended periods due to other
illnesses (but still counted as a covid patient). In fairness to the healthcare
professionals, and the guy or gal signing the death certificates, picking a
cause of death for complex cases is like throwing darts at a dartboard.
Some hospitals are incentivized to label patients as covid
cases since monetary reimbursements for treatment are greater. Poor Uncle Bob
stumbles into the emergency room complaining of chest pains which only create
more angst for the 70-year old smoker since he also has diabetes and lung
cancer. He threw out his back yesterday slipping on the ice and had both RSV
and the regular flu over the last 2 weeks. When admitted to the hospital, he
tested positive for covid on a cheap quick rapid test, so Nurse Goodbody wrote
him down as a covid patient.
The US daily new deaths chart is shown above. The COVID-19
deaths are likely overcounted as a few recent news articles have posited. As
explained above, the US hospitalizations, active cases and deaths are likely on
the high side of the actual numbers (overreported).
248 Americans are kicking the covid bucket each day an
ongoing shameful display of the Biden administrations incompetence at handling
the pandemic. The death rate is jumpy and is in a downtrend for 3 weeks so sub
200 deaths per day are expected in the days ahead and going forward.
US China Virus deaths need to drop to 120 to 180 bodies per
day rate to compare to the seasonal flu which would begin the endemic phase for
COVID-19.
As per the CDC, the variant proportions indicate that 66% of
the new US COVID-19 infections (two-thirds) are the XBB15 variant. Remember,
the proportions are sketchy and prone to big revisions as the CDC showed a
couple weeks ago. The wastewater data is subject to interpretation. The key takaway
is that the US covid pie continues getting smaller so even if XBB15 is a bigger
portion of the pie, the slices are smaller because the pie is shrinking.
20% of the new covid cases are BQ11. 7% are BQ1 and 2% are
XBB. A CH11 (CH.1.1) variant is listed at 2% of the new infections. This is a
new virus kid on the block with a different CH prefix. The variant name looks
like Channel 11 on the television set.
CH11 is a variant out of Southeast Asia. The WHO lists CH11under BA275. There are cases reported in 66 nations including New Zealand and
UK. New Zealand’s recent infection wave is in a downtrend for almost 2 months
and the UK continues reporting nil cases so it does not appear to be a big
threat. CH11 is accounting for 10% of the cases worldwide so it must be
monitored closely and taken seriously. Another variant, CA31 (CA.3.1) is also
hiding in the bushes.
CH11 is a descendant from the BA275 variant that was informally
called “Centaurus.” BA275, that Dr Fauci said would wreak havoc on the US, was
a nothing burger. The Fauch was wrong again. CH11 is given the nickname
“Orthrus” by an Aussie. In mythology, Orthus was a two-headed dog that guarded
cattle. XBB15 was dubbed, “Kraken” a few months ago. So now we wait to see if
Orthrus has any bite or if it is all bark.
Scientists are concerned because the COVID-19 vaccines wane
over time and they are not as effective against the BQ and XBB variants as compared
to BA2 and BA5 and the shots are not as effective against CH11 and CA31
compared to BQ and XBB. The witchdoctors in the laboratories need to get busy
and provide more mRNA cocktails that can handle Kraken and Orthrus. Chemist
Larry is stirring the pot asking for more eye of newt.
The BQ variants account for 27% of the new US cases and the
XBB lineage is at 69% of the US cases. The BQ’s and XBB’s are obviously the
dominant strains at play in the United States accounting for 96% of the new
covid cases, but remember, the virus pie is becoming smaller and smaller each
day. The shrinking covid pie is more important than the variant break down.
US COVID-19 hospital admissions continue falling like a rock
especially with the older folks a beautiful sight.
US COVID-19 hospitalizations drop to 25K and this data is 3
days old. If covid hospitalizations fall below 20K that is likely good enough
to signal the endemic phase since the numbers are probably overreported (higher
than the true actual covid cases).
The CDC Community Transmission map is a lovely shade of
green (low infection risk). The green and yellow (medium-risk) US counties
account for 96% of the map with 4% the orange high-risk counties. The map
improves over the last 10 days from 94/6 to 96/4. A sub 2% number would be new
territory for this metric and surely that would indicate that covid is endemic
and no longer a pandemic.
President Biden plans to end the COVID-19 emergency declarations
on 5/11/23 so that is big banner at the pandemic finish line 3 months from now
that displays, “Welcome to the Endemic Phase.” The emergency declarations
should end now but America’s compromised corrupt politicians want to keep their
greedy hands on the covid dollars.
Officials in charge can also get their jollies off for another
14 weeks with more sick control freak actions imposed against common citizens. Americans
have moved on from the pandemic and show little patience for any more edicts
from politicians or medical officials. Do not make the mistake of telling
someone to wear a mask. If you do, don’t be surprised at where they tell you to
put that mask.
The major news outlets on television, the internet and radio
barely mention COVID-19 anymore. Gone are the days of wall-to-wall covid
coverage. Gone are the COVID-19 statistics continuously displaying on cable
news television screens.
Masks, at least in southwestern Pennsylvania, USA, are no
longer used. There was a brief spurt of mask use mainly among seniors during
the mini bump wave 8 but most everyone has flung the mouth diapers into the
wastebasket again.
The US COVID-19 vaccination rate remains pitiful now
dropping below 100K jabs per day not seen since September 2022 and then all the
way back to the start of the pandemic. Many Americans have lost confidence in
the endless jabs that quickly lose effectiveness and are found to provide less
protection against the new variants.
Americans have moved on and covid vaccines have become a
hard sell when people are stuck like pincushions with four or more shots and
then still contract covid once, twice, even three times! The mantra is repeated
that the covid shots prevent severe illness and death but that message is not
selling any tickets. Unvaccinated folks are recovering fine from their covid
illnesses.
People figure why get multiple shots of mRNA serum when you
will likely get covid anyway? It is the same mindset as the regular flu. There
are always some people that spend their lives hiding under the bed only coming
out for covid vaccinations and there are others that are Born to Be Wild. Both
ways are okay. We are all different and that is what makes life great but come out
from under that bed; Keystone will give you a ride.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 104.4 million. India is next with 44.7 million total virus
cases. France, Germany, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Italy, UK, Russia, Turkey, Spain,
Vietnam, Australia, Argentina, Taiwan, Netherlands, Iran, Mexico, Indonesia,
Poland and Colombia round out the top 22 worst nations for total COVID-19 cases.
India remains at 44.7 million total cases for the last 2-1/2 months great news.
COVID-19 has infected 676 million people worldwide. China
(CCP) owes reparations to the world for its sick heinous crime against
humanity. 6.77 million people on Earth are dead from the China Flu. 648 million
global citizens have recovered from the virus.
96% (648/676) of the people that become infected with COVID-19
recover in a reasonable time frame. The percentage remains steady for many
months. Worldwide, 1.0% (6.77/676) of the people that are infected with covid
die; 1 in 100 (hit the 1/x button on your calculator).
8.8% (676/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 11 people on earth. 0.09%
of the world’s population (6.77/7670) died from the pandemic so far; 1 in every
1,133 people on earth died from China Virus over the last 3 years.
The latest census data shows that the world has crossed the
8 billion population milestone but the Coronavirus Chronology will continue
using the 7.67 billion number for calculations to remain consistent.
In the United States, 104.4 million people have been
infected with covid. 1.135 million Americans are dead. 101.5 million Americans have
recovered from coronavirus. This equates to 97% (101.5/104.4) of US citizens recovering
after becoming infected with COVID-19.
Those are good odds especially when you look around and see
most people fatter than yourself. Most of the COVID-19 deaths are old or fat
people and heaven help you if you are old and fat. COVID-19 is a pandemic of
the elderly.
In the US, 1.1% (1.135/104.4) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. 1 in every 92 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus die. 0.34% (1.135/330)
of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in every 291 Americans over the
last 36 months.
31.6% (104.4/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid. That is almost at 1 in every 3 Americans.
The latest data and commentaries, even from the CDC is that 80% and maybe 90%
or more of Americans have been infected with COVID-19 over the last 3 years (many
positive tests and illnesses are not reported and some people did not know they
had covid). The strong US herd immunity turned wave 8 into a little bump.
The United States has 15.4% (104.4/676) of the COVID-19
cases in the world. 2 in every 13 people that become infected with covid on the
planet are Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago,
but not so much in recent months.
The US accounts for 16.8% (1.135/6.77) of the China Flu
deaths in the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are
Americans. A couple years ago, it was 1 in 5 so vaccinations helped.

The Worldometer web site tracks coronavirus (COVID-19) around
the world and its link is provided. Many charts in the coronavirus series of

CDC COVID Data Tracker is another excellent source of information. The
Worldometer, Johns-Hopkins and CDC data track each other well.
The Coronavirus Chronology is using 8 metrics to assess the
pandemic to endemic transition and the world is making progress. (1) The
world’s daily new cases should be below 360K per day to claim endemic status and
cases are down to 175K per day. (2) The world’s daily new deaths should be
below 1.3K per day and they are 1.2K. Another win.
(3) For the United States to be in the endemic phase, the
daily new cases should be below or around 10K cases per day and are now at about
24K per day and dropping. Since some states are overreporting the numbers, a
drop below 20Kper day will be good enough. (4) US active cases should be below 730K
cases (at least below 1.0 or 1.2 million) now at 1.8 million.
(5) The US COVID-19 death rate should be below 120 to 180
bodies per day to become comparable to the regular flu season but remain
stubbornly high at 248 bodies per day (a jumpy number that is dropping). The
deaths are likely overcounted with covid blamed for every stiff body in the
morgue.
(6) To declare the endemic phase in America, US
hospitalizations should drop below 10K patients and are now under 26K. Again,
knowing more about the data, the numbers may be overreported so if the covid patients
fall below 20K that will be good enough. (7) The CDC Community Transmission map
should turn completely green and yellow to usher in the endemic phase and 96%
of US counties meet these criteria with 4% remaining in the high-risk orange zone.
A drop below 2% for the high-risk counties will be good enough for the endemic
phase.
(8) Lastly, the public needs to accept that the pandemic is
over and this is already in the endemic column since most Americans have
resumed their normal lives and ignore the COVID-19 news.
Thus, there are 3 to 5 of the 8 metrics at or almost in the
endemic camp. Most people have moved on with life choosing not to pay much
attention to the COVID-19 pandemic anymore. This behavior proves more than
anything else that the pandemic is in the endemic phase.
China, Hong Kong and Taiwan need to beat back the rising
cases after the Lunar New Year holiday. Unfortunately, China and Hong Kong,
under communist Dictator Xi’s control, are not providing data. Taiwan’s path
forward is key since the same behavior is likely occurring across mainland
China.
A hairy eyeball must also be maintained on Russia as new
covid infections ramp higher. Maybe dirtbag Putin will get covid and die? That is
a grave the entire world would dance upon.
The crazy 3-year old dark and deadly COVID-19 pandemic is
given the bum’s rush out the back door while the young, pretty, and more reasonable
and calm, endemic enters the front door. CH11 and CA31 are sneaking around in
the bushes.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 2/5/23, at 4:00 AM EST: The United States will wind-down the purchasing of COVID-19 vaccines this summer and stop in the Fall. The private market will take over and Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna will be paid for the shots via American's health insurance system. Americans without insurance would likely have to pay the cost of the vaccines in the future which means they will not bother and instead take their chances with natural immunity. The poor do not complain; they expect this stuff to happen in America. The compromised corrupt wealthy people making the decisions have no idea how most Americans live each day. Many of the underprivileged do not want the covid shots even if they are offered for free because of the history of past medical missteps and treatment of Americans. Also, the medical profession has lost credibility over the last 3 years due to the mixed messages (the vaccines were first supposed to stop the virus but they do not, the jabs were supposed to stop the spread of virus but they do not, the mRNA shot was supposed to be one and done, nope, that was incorrect, it quickly went to two, then three, then four, some folks have five shots, the vaccine would last a long time perhaps forever, no, another misstep since the mRNA jabs are losing efficacy about 2 months out from the shot to low protection at 5 or 6 months, etc...). Pfizer CEO Bourla continues hiding from reporters afraid they will ask about the Jordan Tristan Walker scandal. Google and other social media platforms continue burying the Walker scandal to hide it from the American public. Walker was secretly taped talking about nefarious research practices at the Pfizer laboratories. The democrat-run media ignore the story completely. The Whitehouse, government agencies, Big Tech and Big Pharma lie in bed together in the new America. Eisenhower called it the military-industrial complex (the potential rise of misplaced power that strips away American's security and liberty).
Note Added Sunday Morning, 2/5/23, at 5:00 AM EST: The New York Times says 40 Chinese scholars have died over the last 2 months (presumably from China Virus). Nearly all of these intelligent folks were over 80 years old. COVID-19 is a pandemic of the elderly and especially those with underlying health problems. China is not providing any COVID-19 information to the world and internally, the record-keeping has gone askew. Chinese folks speaking anonymously (because they live in a filthy communist nation) say many health officials and the hospitals do not report the covid testing numbers anymore and COVID-19 deaths are not counted properly. Lying Dictator Xi and the CCP want the world to believe only 80K people died from covid in China with a population of 1.4 billion. The Chinese death count is likely a million or in the millions. Taiwan remains the only indicator of what may be occurring pandemic-wise across mainland China right now.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 2/5/23, at 6:00 AM EST: The world reports 165K daily new COVID-19 cases for Friday and the 7-day MA is at 168K. Perhaps that sideways slide at the 175K-ish cases per day for the last few days has finally broke free for more downside. Hong Kong's covid data feed remains down no doubt because the CCP does not want the information released. Taiwan reports 25K cases for Friday an elevated number but encouraging. The 7-day MA trendline is up to 27K cases per day for Taiwan but the rate of increase is slowing (potential topping behavior). Taiwan reports 32K covid cases for both 1/31/23 and 2/1/23, last Tuesday and Wednesday, and then Thursday was 27K and Friday 25K. The daily cases need to be known for 2/7/23 and 2/8/23 (released on 2/9/23 and 2/10/23, respectively) to provide a direct comparison to the 32K numbers to see if the new infection wave is a pig in a poke and will roll-over quickly (cases come in below 32K), or, if the wave is developing into something more serious (cases come in above 32K). Thus, an assessment can be made for Taiwan's current infection wave on Friday. The same behavior occurring in Taiwan is likely occurring across mainland China (a new infection wave is underway). The peak in daily cases thus far for Taiwan's new wave come at the 9 and 10-day infection incubation period after the Lunar New Year holiday (1/22/23). There was much travel across China before and after the weekend festivities but no doubt the 1/21/23 and 1/22/23 party weekend created more COVID-19 infections. It may not be a superspreader event, Taiwan will provide this answer in the days ahead, but the new year holiday definitely increased virus transmission and infections in Taiwan and China (including Hong Kong). Oh no. Damn it. Taiwan reports 105 China Virus deaths for Friday a big spike higher the most since last July 7 months ago; terrible news. Taiwan should be able to beat the death rate back down quickly but the major worry is China. Seeing the big spike in Taiwan deaths on Friday, an imagination runs wild as to what horror may be occurring inside China with people dropping like flies. Good luck to the Chinese people.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 2/5/23, at 7:00 AM EST: The US reports 12.8K daily new COVID-19 cases for Friday beautiful stuff. The 7-day MA is down to 20K cases per day for America. The champagne is on ice with the cork ready to be popped to celebrate the transition from pandemic to endemic. 214 Americans continue dying from covid each day as Sleepy Joe Biden sleeps. It is only poor old folks dying so no one cares. The United States and world continue marching in the parade to the endemic phase but independent Taiwan and communist China are party-poopers. Taiwan's fate will be known in a few days and the expectation is that the wave burns out quickly which will also predict good things for China. The fly in the covid ointment this morning is the spike in COVID-19 deaths in Taiwan. It is concerning for not only Taiwan but China. Hopefully, a new wave will not sweep across these two nations attacking the frail older folks.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 2/5/23, at 8:00 AM EST: The Austin, Texas, Mayor Kirk Watson tests positive for COVID-19. Watson is vaccinated and boosted like a pincushion now isolating at home. Watson opines, "This situation is far from ideal." I like Austin but I love San Antone.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 2/5/23, at 11:00 AM EST: The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice is harassing Dr Scott Jensen for his outspokenness on COVID-19 protocols because some do not exactly align with the board-certified narrative. The medical board accuses Jensen of covid misinformation. If you are a doctor, you must kneel before the medical boards, cheering and supporting their narratives, otherwise your license will be pulled (the US medical boards are corrupt like the educational system and universities). Republican Jensen ran for governor and lost with 45% of the vote so he thinks the medical board action against him is a political power play. Jensen opines, "They know full well they're being weaponized." The political machine (democrat tribe) controls the medical boards (AMA, state boards, etc...) that control the doctors. America is sick. Good luck to Jensen and hopefully the medical board will find someone else to harass. Covid is on the verge of the endemic phase. It is time to stop the petty bickering on all sides concerning masks, vaccines, mandates and other pandemic missteps and mistakes. It is time for everyone to move on.
Note Added Sunday Afternoon, 2/5/23: California retreats on its demand that school children be vaccinated for COVID-19. Democrat Governor Newsom's stupid and misguided decree has been tied up in the courts and is now rescinded. Common sense prevails. The statistics and studies prove that COVID-19 is not a serious threat to kids under 18 years old unless there are underlying health problems and/or if the child is obese. If you are a parent of a chubby kid, teach the young ones healthy eating habits including eating a salad each day. You don't want them to end up like you, do you? People touting masks picture a population that dutifully keeps their noses and mouths hermetically-sealed at work or as they run errands around town; this is fantasy and not real life. Frontiers in Psychology releases a report that says less attractive (ugly) people are more prone to wear masks. It is sad to see so many humans perceive themselves as unattractive basing their physical attributes. Taiwan reports 21K daily cases for Thursday and the 7-day MA for daily covid cases is heading lower at 22K cases per day. The post-holiday infection bump wave for Taiwan is quickly subsiding and the same behavior is likely occurring in China and Hong Kong which are both controlled by Dictator Xi and the CCP. The only remaining concern is if the XBB lineage should attack mainland China. That could be a problem going forward but it would be China-specific since the remainder of the world has already seen the new variants. India is relaxing travel restrictions for travelers from China and other countries.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 2/11/23, at 6:00 AM EST: The United States reports only 19K daily new COVID-19 cases for Thursday (love those numbers in the teens) and the 7-day MA trendline for daily cases is down to 26K cases per day on its way lower. 295 Americans continue dying each day from COVID-19 as Sleepy Joe sleeps.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 2/11/23, at 7:00 AM EST: Keystone is glad that the COVID-19 endemic phase has arrived worldwide including the US since the final chapter of the Coronavirus Chronology can be written. The 3-year writing project that recorded the major daily events of the pandemic is winding-down. Article 103, to be published on Tuesday, 2/14/23, Valentines Day, is likely the final chapter of the China Virus Bible. What a day to break things off. Keystone is experiencing separation anxiety moving on from the 3-year daily relationship with COVID-19 but alas, the pandemic is now endemic, and time to bring the writing project to an end. Taiwan's daily new covid cases continue lower averaging 20K per day. US COVID-19 deaths exceed 1.14 million another grim milestone. The 7-day MA trendline for US daily new China Virus cases drop to 22K per day. 261 Americans continue dying from covid each day. President Biden has failed to lower the COVID-19 death rate over the last year. Part of the blame goes to the overreporting of covid deaths when other health ailments, RSV or flu are actually the major cause of death. The 3-year COVID-19 pandemic continues the transition into the endemic phase worldwide. Coronavirus and its variants are manageable. The elderly and those with other health problems are most susceptible to the bad outcomes from COVID-19. These folks are likely the only ones that should have been vaccinated with the multiple-shot mRNA vaccine regimen a technology that is in its infancy. Good luck to all the healthy young people, including athletes, that took the multiple covid vaccines, that have spike proteins continuing to circulate in their bodies.
Note Added Monday Morning, 2/13/23, at 3:00 AM EST: The world reports only 93,825 daily new COVID-19 cases for Saturday. Not bad for a planet of 8,000,000,000 people. The 7-day MA for daily covid infections is down to 158K cases per day. The 7-day MA trendline is moving sideways with a downward bias so more down would be better. Taiwan's recent pop in cases adds to the world's total so as it and Japan's infections subside, the daily cases worldwide will continue lower. Bingo! Yippee! Old guys say bingo a lot. Global daily China Virus deaths drop to 995 covid bodies per day dropping below 1K deaths per day; great news. Again, not bad for a planet of 8,000,000,000 people. When will the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (try to fit that on a business card), decree an end to the worldwide pandemic? Taiwan reports 18K cases for Saturday and the 7-day MA is down to 20K cases per day ready to drop into the teens. Unfortunately, covid deaths in Taiwan spike to 82 for Saturday the biggest day since the 105 dead bodies on 2/3/23 which was the deadliest day since July 2022. Even though Taiwan improves and forecasts the same behavior for mainland China, sadly, the death rates will likely remain elevated for a few weeks. The elderly and overweight folks with existing health ailments are hit particularly hard by China Virus and some find it too difficult for their bodies to recover even after the covid illness has dissipated.

US active covid cases drop to 1.61 million and will likely be a 1.5 handle tomorrow. America is healing as the pandemic transitions into the endemic phase. 225 Americans continue dying from COVIOD-19 each day as Sleepy Joe Biden sleeps.
Note Added Monday Morning, 2/13/23, at 5:00 AM EST: It is time to end the Coronavirus Chronology. It has been a long 3-year road. Article 103 will be published tomorrow ending the daily chronicling of the once-in-a-century pandemic. Many nations are reporting negligible COVID-19 cases and some are not reporting the data anymore at all. Others have gone to weekly reporting or weekend numbers may be grouped in with Monday numbers. The data is becoming messy and scarce. Johns-Hopkins announced an end to their data collection and COVID-19 dashboard. In the States, recent news stories have shown that some hospitals are overcounting COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, so the pandemic picture is even brighter. Keystone highlighted New York State during 2022 and how its cases remained elevated standing-out from other states. It was obvious that New York was/is overreporting the covid numbers. Some nations have declared an end to the pandemic. Travel restrictions are dropping faster than prom dresses at midnight including airline flights to and from China. The world suffered through 10 covid infection waves and the United States endured 8 waves. Trouble in Japan and South Korea helped extend the pandemic misery in late 2022 and into this year along with China (including Hong Kong and Macau) and Taiwan. The pandemic is over but the world must now learn to live with covid handling the menace like the seasonal flu. Communist China screwed the world and owes all 200 nations reparations for their dastardly deeds at the Wuhan Laboratories that are the likely origin and ground zero of coronavirus.
