On Friday, 1/31/14: Chairman Bernanke’s term ends at the Fed. Yellen, Summers and Kohn are candidates for the position. Summers is the front-runner and the likely choice since he is a confidant of President Obama who referred to Ms. Yellen as ‘Mr. Yellen’.
On Friday, 2/7/14Winter Olympics begin in Sochi, Russia, through 2/23/14. Watch $RTSI and RSX.
In February/March: the new Fed Chairman testifies before Congress.
In March: ESM is officially ‘fully operational’. The banking union schedule has been delayed from January 2013 to January 2014 and now to March 2014.

    Our health insurance provider (Humana) notified us by mail this weekend that because of ACA requirements my monthly cost will double after New Years.

    Yes, double. And that's for the stripped down, high deductible health insurance. Nothing is changing except the price. LOL.

  6. still wondering how true is this reversal to the upside (in futures) considering that not $cpc (for indexes) nor $cpce (for futures) reached the panic levels...
    I'm very very doubtful about this sudden rally without a meaningful bottom in place!

    All those who go long now beware of sudden overnight big (> 50+ points drop) surprises!
