Keybot the Quant Turns Bearish

Keystone's trading algo, Keybot the Quant, flips back to the bear side at SPX 2038 after the opening bell in a very erratic start to the trading year. The elevated volatility creates wild price swings. The semiconductors are creating market weakness. Watch SOX 674.20 as the key bull-bear line and parameter that tells you if the broad indexes will move higher or lower. SOX is playing around at 673.50. The bears are driving the bus again as the algorithms are smacked to and fro. More information is found at Keybot's site;

Note Added 2:22 PM: SOX drops to 672.11. Keep an eye on the chips. SOX 674.20 will tell you the market story. If SOX ends the day under 674.20, the bears will celebrate all evening long. If SOX regains 674.20 and higher, the bulls are mounting another comeback rally. SOX 672.09...... 672.01 ..... 671.55.......

Note Added 2:41 PM: SOX 671.30. The battle continues; the bears are pushing but there is lots of trading time remaining in the session, semi's will tell you the market directional answer... .....

Note Added 6:24 PM: SOX finishes at 671.82 so the bears win today's fight. At the opening bell tomorrow morning, watch the SOX 674.20 bull-bear line in the sand to see which direction the stock market will move. If the stock market rallies but the SOX does not move above 674.20, then equities will reverse and sell off. For tonight, the bears are drinking wine and celebrating the weakness in the chip stocks.
