by K E Stone (Keystone)
In the 1960’s and 1970’s, America’s daily news originated from three broadcast television channels; ABC, CBS and NBC. Nowadays, humans are bombarded with news from, what seems like infinite sources, including television and radio (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc….), and the internet (Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp, Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Apple, Breitbart, etc….) over multiple platforms (televisions, smart phones, desk computers, wrist watches and other wearables, headphones, digital billboards, signs, robocalls, etc…).
All the sources and platforms above provide biased news. Non-biased news in America has gone the way of the penny loafer. Unbiased and impartial news reporting and journalism in the United States and around the world is as rare as hen’s teeth. Each media news source is slanting the information according to their money master’s desires. He who has the gold always makes the rules. Bigwigs such as Soros, Bloomberg, Steyer and Sussman donate big bucks to the democrats. Similarly, Adelson, Koch, Uihlein, Mellon and Blackstone’s Schwarzman support the republican party with loads of cash. These folks influence the tenor and direction of media with their billions of dollars of ad spends and they obviously want their political messages pounded home during the news casts.
In America, media outlets influence minds to either support the right-leaning republican and conservative party, the Republican Tribe, or, the left-leaning democrat, liberal and progressive party, the Democrat Tribe. Smart independent thinkers and voters understand the media manipulation and declare a pox on both of the tribe’s houses.
Die-hard democrats (left-leaning; liberals; leftists; progressives; donkey symbol; blue states) cheer cable news channels CNN and MSNBC, jotting-down talking points they can espouse at the office water cooler later that day. Republicans (right-leaning; GOP; Grand Ole Party; conservatives; elephant symbol; red states) say Fox News is the greatest thing since sliced bread and feel a case of the vapors coming on every time their eyes set sight on their hero’s Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. Republicans become breathless at the sound of Rush Limbaugh’s voice. Democrats feel warm and cozy listening to Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper.
Keystone first started talking about media bias in the late 1990’s. Media and news organizations try to create the illusion of a neutral position when reporting the news but the words, subtle speech inflections, objects in the background, body language and many other aspects of the video or audio package lean the consumer in one political direction or the other.
Study television commercials if you want to learn how your mind is manipulated. Ads are marketing masterpieces that in mere seconds force your mind to think a certain way (to support a political party or buy a product or service). Study the details in television commercials and you will learn a lot. Likewise, study the pictures of Trump and Biden on the news outlet web pages. On left-leaning outlets, Trump is shown as an angry man, with a bright orange head, foaming at the mouth, or pointing recklessly with his small hands. On right-leaning outlets, Biden’s pictures show a cognitively-challenged man half asleep, out of touch, disheveled, pale complexion and expressions of confusion on his face. Human minds are easy to manipulate and the people that insist they can never be manipulated are the easiest to manipulate.
The Fox News channel was launched to provide a right-leaning voice to counteract the left-leaning voices in broadcast television (ABC, CBS, NBC), public television (NPR, PBS) and cable news (CNN, MSNBC). Humorously, during this political season, Fox News religiously shows all Trump rallies while ignoring Biden's speeches. Similarly, CNN and MSNBC show the Biden rallies, and former President Obama stumping for Joe, fully on their air while Trump rallies are only broadcast as short snippets with tight video shots. Each network and media outlet is 'talking its own book' serving their money masters.
Fast forward a couple decades and social internet (Facebook, Twitter, Alphabet (Google), Apple, Netflix, etc..) is the new king of the media hill, trafficking in human data and choosing what news appears on their websites. Currently, the tech giants are under siege by Congress and likely face increased regulations and scrutiny ahead. The tech behemoths have too much control over personal data and the information provided to the user. Facebook, Twitter and others are currently accused of censorship that favors the Democrat Tribe over the Republican Tribe.
Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, is accused of selling political access. The social media companies and most left-leaning outlets are not covering the story since it will negatively impact Biden’s election hopes. The door swings both ways since Trump’s daughter Ivanka receives patents off of China while the old man is in office; they are not awarding her those licenses because she is smart. Foreign leaders stay in Trump hotels, taking over entire floors with the large entourages, and interestingly, shortly thereafter, they appear in the Oval Office photographed with President Trump. The Washington, DC, hotel is always full of foreign cronies. The crony capitalism system is filthy and corrupt; that is why it is crumbling around us.
Social media 'shaming', the modern-day 'cancel culture', plays a big role in today’s sick noxious society. Americans have forgotten how to disagree with each other and remain friends. People have lost the ability to laugh at themselves; their skin is thin. The 1970’s, despite all its turmoil, was a great decade when all social and class levels interacted and enjoyed each other’s company. But in the 1980’s, political correctness ushered in judgement. Judgement of each other, what groups you belong to, who your friends are, where you work, your social status, etc.. A judgmental society.
As the classes split over the last few decades, the rich marry the rich and the poor marry the poor. This class separation guarantees today’s outcome of a two-class society, a New Gilded Age a la the 1920’s; a nation of the have’s and have not’s. Life and American society changes over the last five decades as the human greed and crony capitalism system rewards the wealthy elite while screwing the huddled masses. The American Dream becomes the American Joke.
The 2020 US Presidential Election is tomorrow, 11/3/20. Over 93 million people have already voted which is two-thirds to three-fourths of the voting public. The election is a referendum on the president. Basically, voters are deciding if they like Trump or if they dislike Trump? If more folks dislike Trump than like him, Biden will become president. Trump and Biden are barnstorming the key Rustbelt States of Pennsylvania, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota kissing every butt that is willing to pull their pants down.
The cable news networks practice news sensationalism to attract eyeballs since advertising fees, the mother’s milk of profits, are dependent on viewership. The lip gloss beauties reading the teleprompters display long sexy legs that attract viewers. One pair of shiny legs is longer than the next pleasing the majority of male viewers. Roger Ailes, that ran the Fox News media empire for many years but had to resign in disgrace, then croaked, professed the mantra that “legs equal viewers.”
Botox is on full display at the news networks with talking heads sporting foreheads tighter than a garage band’s snare drum. The female news readers don beautiful custom-tailored dresses at over $500 a pop that highlight their well-endowed physical attributes. A first-year marketing student will tell you that “sex sells.” The news networks manipulate minds into loyal democrats or republicans using a beautiful siren song.
News is entertainment nowadays when it used to provide level-headed facts. All news is biased in America. News organizations do not even attempt to hide it anymore. The news hosts, or anchors, which is a code word for teleprompter readers, comment on news stories reinforcing the network’s chosen bias. President Trump likes to attack news organizations as ‘fake news’ but he provides more than a generous helping of misinformation and fake news from his own podium.
Interestingly, more Americans are seeking the middle independent high ground away from the demopublican and republocrat cancers that are destroying the country. Independent voters increase as many US citizens are fed up and do not want to be associated with either party and their political baby games. Congress and the president are incapable of passing a fiscal stimulus bill in these troubled coronavirus times, so the huddled masses are screwed again. Many Americans do not realize that they are actually independent, or libertarian, in their thinking since they believe in fiscal responsibility (balanced government budgets and fair tax policy; a republican talking point) and at the same time do not care what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms (socially progressive; a democrat talking point).
You may decide on different percentages of bias after reviewing the lists below but the educated guess is about 70% of the news and media in America is biased towards democrat, liberal and progressive minds while 30% of the news is biased towards republican and conservative thinking. Democrats dominate television while republicans dominate radio. Some of the entries below represent stereotypical behavior of groups.
Reference this list below when consuming any information. For written stories, always look at the byline first since it tells you the direction the information is slanted. With the election imminent, the list below aids you in viewing information through the proper political prism. Take note if a left-leaning media outlet praises the right on an issue or event, or, likewise, if a right-leaning media outlet congratulates the left. This would be important news, otherwise, the tribe’s are simply beating their respective drums as shown below.
Of course you know that the K E Stone (Keystone) byline represents independent thought and is not beholding to either dirtbag party. Keystone does not like politicians since they are corrupt liars that worship at the altar of non-transparency each morning.
