The US daily new cases chart is shown above. Daily cases
peak at 196.4K on Friday, 8/27/21, almost hitting 200K per day. The daily cases
for US wave 5 continue rolling over. The end of summer parties, businesses
reopening and young people returning to schools and universities create more
infections but the India B1617 variant (delta) wave for daily cases is
subsiding.
The US reports 157.9K daily new cases for yesterday, Friday,
9/17/21. The Friday data is typically the highest numbers of the week so it is
great to see the daily cases remaining in check. Wednesday was 165.4K cases,
Thursday 157.2K and Friday 157.9K cases. That is nothing to complain about
considering that the vast majority of medical pundits guaranteed that the US
daily cases would be running well over 200K per day by now. They were wrong.
The 7-day MA for US daily cases is moving sideways at 148.3K
so it is imperative that the US cases remain below 148K going forward to drag
the moving average lower and further confirm that wave 5 is dying. The 3-day MA
for daily new cases is also moving sideways but would be expected to roll over
lower again with the Friday number behaving itself. The weekend numbers should
be lower.
The college (American) football games are a concern since
the stadiums are packed to the rafters with fans. Today the sight will be
repeated at universities across the nation. In America, high school football
games are played on Friday evenings, college games on Saturday and the NFL
(pro’s) plays on Sunday.
Typically, a bump in daily cases occurs about a week after a
superspreader event. So far, the packed stadiums, a few with over 70K people,
have not led to a big push higher in daily cases although a subtle bump higher
in cases is noted over the last 3 days. Most colleges are requiring
vaccinations so the packed stadiums, that will again be on display today, may
not create superspreader events.
The US active cases chart is shown above. This is the
‘flatten the curve’ chart that rolls over to form the bell shape and verify
that the virus is being defeated. The Keystone Model, explained below,
identifies the peak in daily cases as 9/3/21 since the cases are within 8% of
the peak high on 8/27/21. Adding 28 days, the US active cases chart should peak
and roll over by 10/1/21 or sooner. The delta wave is faster-moving so that
hints that the flattening and roll over in active cases will occur this month.
The conditions at hospitals across the South are improving
but the virus spreads north to the mountain Midwest and mid-Atlantic states with
those hospitals ramping-up staff and beds. UPMC Children’s Hospital of
Pittsburgh sets up a tent in the parking garage to expand its care in the
emergency department.
The happy blue dashed-line scenario in the US active cases
chart is the expected path ahead with the active cases peaking 10/1/21 or
sooner and then forming the coveted bell shape. Healthcare workers need to hang
in there for another week or two and then a dramatic improvement in caseloads
should occur for the country as a whole. Small pockets of community spread will
likely continue around the US going forward.
The medical pundits are predicting a dire scenario where the
daily and active cases continue rising into the Fall period. This scenario is
likely not going to occur but a few more days of data, and especially the top
in the active cases chart, will tell the tale for wave 5 in America.
The US deaths chart is shown above and it is not a pretty
picture. The Biden administration is incompetent in not supplying adequate
monoclonal antibody (mAb) treatments to the states. People are dying as a
result. The Whitehouse touts vaccinations as the only treatment available while
Americans die needlessly. It is shameful.
Regeneron, Eli Lilly and other pharmaceutical companies say
there is plenty of supply of mAb and any amount can be provided through the end
of the year. The Whitehouse is lying when they say the supply of monoclonal
antibody treatments is limited. Such is the crony capitalism system.
2.4K Americans die last Wednesday, 9/15/21. That is
sickening and the blood of many are on Biden’s hands as well as the Whitehouse
staff, covid task force and CDC. Hospitals are reporting great success with the
mAb treatments on both vaccinated breakthrough cases and unvaccinated folks. The
7-day MA for US deaths is moving sideways at 1.66K deaths per day.
Hey bozo’s! Get off your arses. Distribute the mAb
treatments which save lives and are proven to reduce hospitalizations by over
70%! STAT!!
The US is at 691K deaths from China Flu. Johns-Hopkins is at673K deaths. The CDC is at 668K deaths. The mainstream media will likely tout
the Johns-Hopkins deaths in the days ahead as they cross the 675K death level exceeding
the 1918 Spanish Flu. The Worldometer deaths are already 16K beyond the Spanish
Flu marker heading towards the dreaded 700K deaths tally.
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is at665K deaths predicting 745K dead by 12/1/21. This is another 80K deaths over
the next 76 days which is 1,053 deaths per day every day into December. The
IHME believes in the dire outcome for this Fall. You have to wonder where the
bodies will come from since most of the elderly and obese folks are already
killed off by the Wuhan Virus or are vaccinated. The IHME worst cases scenario
is 812K dead by 12/1/21. The IHME has reduced their death projection numbers
over the last week.
The CDC hospital admissions charts display a rollover in thedata a welcome sight and cause for celebration. Admissions lead hospitalization
numbers by about 4 days. The admissions rolling over indicate that the US may
improve quickly and the active cases may peak in the days ahead. The sooner the
better since the healthcare workers, medics, doctors, nurses and hospital and clinic
staffs are completely exhausted after 1-1/2 years of misery.
The charts show hospital admissions decreasing in all age
groups although the 0 to 17 year old’s are flatlining with a downward bias.
Obviously, the return to school has created many infections among children and
teens but the week ahead may start to paint a brighter picture.
Some schools are open for a month already although others,
such as the New York school system are only open for a couple weeks. The
coronavirus incubation period is starting to play out so perhaps most of the
infections occurring due to schools and universities reopening have run their
course. Some kids are infected with RSV (respiratory syncytial virus infection)
requiring a hospital stay and then become infected with COVID-19.
The CDC hospitalization chart for the United States is also
moving in a positive direction (down). Hospitalizations peak as the month
started and are rolling over nicely for a couple weeks. Some of the decrease in
hospitalizations are due to people dying needlessly because the Whitehouse
slow-walks the monoclonal antibody treatments to the states. With admissions
trailing off lower, the hospitalizations will continue dropping. It is all
good.
However, there are ugly states as the community spread slaps
some regions while other areas enjoy the summer without any substantive rise in
cases. States such as Washington, Oregon, Florida, Louisiana, and others, set
new records for hospitalizations but the numbers for these troubled regions have
peaked and are rolling over or already falling dramatically.
Missouri is the epicenter of the delta wave and had success
in beating down the daily new cases but over the last 3 weeks is struggling
again. Missouri daily cases are remaining stubbornly high at about 2.3K per
day. Missouri deaths are single-digit’s, a positive, no doubt due to the
effective use of monoclonal antibody treatments for the unvaccinated.
Missouri’s daily cases chart is not displaying the inverted
(upside-down) V pattern that is characteristic of the delta wave. Louisiana,
however, displays the inverted V pattern as the state heals. Ditto Mississippi.
The southern states are beating back the covid monster.
The virus spreads north through Kentucky, Tennessee and on
to Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana; the
mid-Atlantic states. The Pennsylvania daily cases chart is shown above and
sadly, the Keystone State is experiencing the ongoing wave 5. Many folks are
vaccinated in Pennsylvania but the back-to-school and business infections are wreaking
havoc.
The moving averages are sloping higher which is not a good
thing matching the infection levels from wave 4. Perhaps with a little bit of
luck, Pennsylvania will beat back the China Flu in the week ahead and serve as
a firewall to stop any further spread. Pennsylvania reports 5.8K daily new
cases on Thursday and 5.2K cases Friday. There is a glimmer of hope since the
Friday number was not higher than Thursday. The 7-day MA is at 4.6K daily cases
moving higher (bad).
The Wuhan Virus also spreads north into the mountain Midwest
states such as Minnesota, the Dakota’s, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Fortunately,
the case counts on a relative basis are lower since the states are less
populated so the numbers do not significantly increase the overall numbers for
the country.
Montana’s daily cases chart is shown above with cases
perhaps peaking at the 1.2K per day level teasing the worst levels from last
November. The 7-day MA is at 857 cases per day and rising. Montana is expected
to peak-out anytime and then form the inverted V shape.
The Kentucky daily cases chart is shown above. The Bluegrass
State is hitting a sour note trying to survive the covid Hell. Kentucky
hospitals and healthcare workers are pushed to the limit. Kentucky reports
several days above 5K new cases with the 7-day MA at 4.2K cases per day. Deaths
are elevated with about 50 Kentuckians dying per day the last few days. Where
are the monoclonal antibody treatments? Who’s in charge? Is Sleepy Joe Biden
sleeping?
Since vaccinations now will only be fully protective in
about 6 weeks (4 weeks between the 2 shots of mRNA vaccine and 2 more weeks for
full protection), monoclonal antibody treatments are the most effective way to
quickly reduce hospitalizations and deaths. Get with the program, idiots.
Everyone can walk and chew gum at the same time. Vaccinations can continue to
be promoted but at the same time do not ignore the most important mAb tool in
the toolbox right now, in real-time.
On the global stage, COVID-19 is getting beaten back. The
world’s daily new cases chart is shown above with wave 5 rolling over. In
technical analysis for stock trading, the pattern of that chart is called a
head and shoulders (H&S). The three green bars show the head in the middle
and the left and right shoulder on each side. The long green line is the neck
line drawn across the low individual daily new cases numbers and interestingly,
this support matches the resistance levels shown for wave 2. This mumbo-jumbo
means that the 300K daily new cases level is key support and for all the
marbles in the pandemic.
A break below 300K cases for the world verifies that
coronavirus is clearly being defeated. The thin green line at 365K cases is
also an important support level for the 7-day MA to cross. The world reports
565K cases yesterday and the 7-day MA is at 553K cases and falling. In general,
as the world’s daily cases drop, keeping the numbers below 565K is important
going forward.
If the world’s daily new cases stab below 365K, it is reason
to celebrate mightily and if the cases fall below 300K, the world can cheer the
coming end of the pandemic. It may take a few weeks to get there still yet. Of
course, if cases begin reporting above 565K and climb again, all bets are off,
and the world will have to face another resurgence (not expected).
The Philippines is the current global hot zone but there is
hope with the daily cases pulling back a touch. 26.2K infections occur on
9/11/21 the worst day of the entire pandemic in the Philippines, a poor nation.
The 7-day MA is at 20.7K daily cases and may be flattening and ready to roll
over which would be a great sight. 310 Filipino’s die yesterday which is an
elevated number with the 7-day MA for deaths moving higher.
On the US vaccination front, 181 million Americans are fullyvaccinated which is 54% of the population over one-half of the country and
increasing by about one million every 2 days. 211 million Americans, almost 64%,
are vaccinated with at least one dose, a solid two-thirds of the country.
197 million Americans that are over 18 years old, 76%, are
vaccinated with at least one shot. Remember, this was Biden’s 70% goal for July
4th that he missed. A couple months later, he is now at 76%. Despite the daily
Whitehouse hand-wringing, these are respectable and positive numbers that bring
herd immunity closer.
The US vaccination rate remains steady at about 626K doses
per day on average, however, the data is 5 days old. The vaccination rate may
steady due to King Biden’s vaccine mandate edicts.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus casesin the world at 43.0 million. India is next with 33.4 million total virus cases.
Brazil, UK, Russia, France, Turkey, Iran, Argentina, and Colombia round out the
top ten. The UK overtakes Russia. Iran overtakes Argentina.
China Flu has infected 228.5 million people worldwide. 4.7
million people are dead from COVID-19. Fortunately, 205.1 million global
citizens have recovered from coronavirus. 89.8% (205.1/228.5) of the people
that become infected with COVID-19 recover in a reasonable time frame. This
percentage had improved to the 92% level but slips lower for the last few
weeks. Perhaps this slippage hints that the Delta variant is harder to recover
from than the original virus albeit by a small amount.
Worldwide, 2.1% (4.7/228.5) of the people that are infected
with covid die. This number has sat at 2.1%-2.2% for many months. 1 in every 47
people that are infected with China Flu around the world will die, and this
number does not budge week after week month after month. It is always 2.1%-2.2%
and will not change even with vaccinations available for over a half year. The
global mortality rate is at an impasse for months. It will be a great day if it
ever decreases.
3.0% (228.5/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 34 people on earth. The Wuhan
Virus has negatively impacted everyone on the planet.
In the United States, 43.0 million people are infected with covid.
691K Americans are dead. 32.4 million Americans have recovered from coronavirus.
This equates to 75.4% (32.4/43.0) of US citizens recovering after becoming
infected with COVID-19. The number was at 83% and 84% about 3 months ago and 78%
a couple weeks ago but now dropping to 75%. Chalk it up to the Delta variant? Like
the world’s recovery rate above, the US recovery rate may have met its ceiling
at about 84%. The US recovery rate is lower than the world’s, 75% versus 90%,
mainly because of America’s obesity problem. Coronavirus is trimming the fat herd.
In the US, 1.6% (691/43000) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. This number was sticky at 1.8% for many months and then at 1.7% for the
last month, and now 1.6%. The vaccinations are likely creating the incremental
tick lower in the midst of the delta wave. The 1.6% equates to 1 in every 62 US
citizens that are infected with coronavirus dying. It continues improving at
tiny incremental amounts.
0.21% (691/330000) of Americans have died from COVID-19
which is 1 in every 478 Americans.
The death rate is at 2.1% globally which is higher than the
US reflecting the lower vaccination rates, less medical equipment such as
ventilators and oxygen tanks, less hospitals, and less medical folks to work at
the facilities. Poorer nations also battle subpar environmental and living conditions.
13% (43/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid. 1 in every 8 Americans have been stricken
with coronavirus. The minority communities are impacted disproportionately. The
13% solidly contributes towards herd immunity (the number is likely far larger
by the CDC’s own admission) by providing natural antibody protection.
The United States has 18.8% (43.0/228.5) of the COVID-19
cases in the world. 1 in 5 people (5.3 to be exact which is 2 in 11) that
become infected with covid on planet earth are Americans. The US vaccination
program is making a difference. This percentage was 22% about 5 months ago so
the drop is great news for the US but bad news for other nations since their
infection numbers are higher.
The US accounts for 14.7% (691/4700) of the China Flu deaths
in the world. 1 in 7 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are Americans.
5 months ago, it was 1 in 5. The numbers are going in the right direction for
the US but the improvement may be stalling.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active
cases chart curves will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases chart
is the ‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and strain on
the medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases chart rolls
over forming the bell shape, the virus is being defeated and healthcare workers
can breathe easier.
The Keystone Model uses the peak in the daily new cases to
forecast the peak and flattening of the active cases curve. The ‘flattening of
the curve’ only pertains to the active cases chart. For communist nations where
the populations must do what they are told or they receive a bullet in their
heads (China), and for smaller authoritarian nations (Eastern European
countries, Africa and Middle East nations), and many Asian nations where
citizens follow government rules without questioning authority (South Korea,
Japan, Singapore, Australia), the active cases curve will peak, on average, 11
days after the peak in daily new cases.
For the Western countries, such as the US and European
nations, the so-called free societies, the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 28 days after the peak in new cases (it takes about 2 weeks longer,
for a free society to tamp down a virus wave than a communist or authoritarian
state mainly because lockdowns cannot be enforced as easily).
During the last few months, the 11 and 28-day timeframes
compress slightly since more is known about handling coronavirus. Thus, a
couple days can be shaved off the current target dates. Further, the Delta wave
is playing out as a fast-moving inverted V pattern and may finish faster than
the allotted days in the model.
All projections below for countries and the US states
continue to use the 11 and 28-day periods for forecasting for consistency. When
the peak in daily new cases occurs, if a subsequent day is within 8% of that
peak top, it is identified as the peak in daily new cases day.
The peak in the daily new cases is easily seen on the bar
charts provided by Worldometer, the CDC and Johns-Hopkins. The daily new cases
bar charts are shown on television news channels with a 7-day moving average
(MA) line which is a smoothing mechanism that identifies the trend.
An update for The Keystone Model is provided since another
10-day period passes, 11 days this time, and more data and information become
available to push the COVID-19 story forward. The Coronavirus Chronology identifies

reliably in real-time.

highlighted below with the worst nations at the bottom. The United States
remains on the bad list until its active cases curve rolls over. The peaks in
daily new cases are shown and the projected peaks for active cases are based on
the Keystone Model. The peak and flattening of the active cases curve represent
the maximum stress on healthcare workers.
It will take longer for the active cases charts to roll over
to form the bell shape for those troubled nations at the bottom of the list
(they are still experiencing highs and peaks in their daily new cases).
Hospitalizations lag the daily cases by a week or two and deaths lag
hospitalizations by a week or two.

Algeria is taken off the bad list as the daily cases drop dramatically. Libya is taken off the list as its active cases curve rolls over to begin forming the bell shape. Ditto Pakistan, Turkey, Mongolia, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, Israel, New Zealand, Australia and Vietnam. It is surprising that Pakistan is not experiencing more cases due to the refugee crisis from Afghanistan.
Eastern Europe and western Asia are hammered hard and a new
global hot zone including Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria. The
COVID-19 trouble also extends up into Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
The Southeast Asia hotspot has quieted down except for the Philippines.
Central America countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador continue
battling and beating back the coronavirus outbreaks.
For Africa, South Africa is in good shape but Gabon is added
to the bad list. Also, Somalia. Tanzania is not doing well but the data is
erratic.
Summing up, the global hot zones are Philippines, Central
America, Eastern Europe and Western Asia and Coastal Africa. The ports spread a
lot of disease especially when the virus is transmitted into Africa.
The next list shows the US states struggling with
coronavirus with the worst states listed at the bottom. The peak in daily new
cases and projections for the peaks in active cases are provided as per the
Keystone Model. The flattening and roll over of the active cases curve forming
the bell shape indicates the virus is being defeated and the caseload on
healthcare workers will quickly improve.

Oklahoma is taken off the bad list as its active cases curve rolls over forming the bell shape. Mississippi and Arkansas were taken off the bad list last time so that leaves 47 states battling covid. There are several states that will likely roll over in the coming days and disappear off the bad list for next time.
The mid-Atlantic states are slapped hard and the infections also
move into the northeastern states. Indiana and Illinois show hope of their
active cases curves rolling over and the other mid-Atlantic states may follow.
The mountain Midwest is the other hotspot with Idaho and
Montana representing the bottom of the list. Montana hospitals are rationing
care showing extremely poor management and preparation. Of course, instead, the
unvaccinated folks are blamed for Montana’s troubles. The same scenario occurs in Idaho in crisis mode rationing care. The vaccinated are throwing stones at unvaccinated people. Conditions are improving
in the south but Kentucky remains a mess.
Thus, the US hot zones are the mid-Atlantic states, mountain
Midwest and northeastern states. The northeastern states are highly vaccinated
so that may tamp down the delta waves in quick order.
The FDA authorizes vaccine booster shots (a third dose of a
now 3-shot mRNA regimen) for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for Americans over 65
years old or at high risk. Booster shots devolved into another pandemic mess of
confusion after President Biden proclaimed that booster shots will be available
to Americans on 9/20/21 not following the science instead making a political
proclamation.
The FDA fights back after getting cut off at the knees so
the Whitehouse backtracks and says Biden meant that vaccine doses would be
available after 9/20/21 if the FDA, then CDC, approves the booster shots. It’s
another day of crony games. Moderna says their data would not be available in
such a short time but it is coming quickly. That leaves Pfizer/BioNTech which
was the first vaccine and it has been 8 months since the second shot for some
folks.
Israel is providing boosters to the 50 year old’s and older
as well as immunocompromised and at risk individuals. The US is relying on
Israeli data to assess boosters as well as data provided by Germany and the UK.
The FDA announcement last evening was somewhat surprising since most expected
the booster shot to be made available to all Americans. Some jackasses already
got a third shot. They came out from hiding under their beds only long enough
to get the booster shot.
The CDC advisory committee meets early this week to review
the FDA findings and authorization to use the Pfizer/BioNTech shot as a booster
for people 6 months beyond their second shots. The CDC will set the guidelines
and may add their own twist to the booster story. Meanwhile, the data reviews continue
and Moderna will go through the same process as well as the Johnny John (stock
trading lingo for Johnson & Johnson) vaccine.
The CDC reports efficacy on the vaccines and Moderna has its
chest puffed-out because its shot has a 93% efficacy 4 months out from the
second dose. Pfizer/BioNtech is at 88% and the J&J vaccine is at 71%
efficacy. All are excellent numbers. Keep in mind that the yearly flu shot is
lucky to be 50% or 60% efficacy.
The US wave 5 for daily new cases is rolling over now and
conditions should continue improving into the Fall. The back-to-school
infections are a major story over the last 3 weeks but hopefully much of that
has run its course. People returning to work are getting into a routine
remaining safe while enjoying the camaraderie of coworkers again. The main key
with any virus is trying to keep your distance from people.
Goofy parents keep arguing and protesting with each other
over mask mandates. They tear each other down each waving white papers that
prove they are the righteous ones with science on their side but both are
cherry-picker’s. It is funny to watch two high-strung parents pointing fingers
in each other’s chests, one for masks in school, one for choice, neither one
listening to the other, spit spewing, when they look off to the side and see their
kids playing, wrestling, running and having fun, one with a mask around his ear
and the other with the mask around his forehead. People need to get a grip.
Loosen up. See the humor in life.
The vaccination rhetoric is the worst it has been.
Unvaccinated folks are blamed for every problem that comes along including
hospital overcapacities, lack of care for regular patients, rationed care, the
delta wave, prolonging the pandemic, the rain, the hurricanes, the flat tire on
the bus the other day and the lack of toilet paper in the third stall at the
public library. Those filthy unwashed unvaccinated lepers.
Unvaccinated Keystone is scheduled to receive a shot into
his left buttock cheek by Nurse Goodbody. He got a fresh tattoo that will make
the nurse laugh as she performs the deed. Keystone is ambidextrous and cannot
risk a day of not having full use of both arms so buttock shots are the only
solution; the first in the left cheek and the second shot in the right cheek.
Keystone remains worried about where the mischievous Nurse Goodbody will
administer the booster shot.
Keystone is wondering if it is best to keep waiting and
simply take the monoclonal antibody treatment, which is an intravenous shot
that takes about a half hour, if he becomes sick. Nurse Goodbody would have
none of this talk and scolded Keystone mightily. The smart and pretty nurse
says the vaccines are the best way to go since they will protect against major
illness and death.
Goodbody also declared that Keystone has no choice but to
take the shot now because she is providing a new pair of Speedo’s as an
incentive, and as part of the agreement. Keystone is also going to wear his
blue Superman tee shirt the day of the shot to build his self-confidence.
A Pew poll reports that white evangelicals (religious folks)
and the uninsured are the least likely to get vaccinated. Many frontline
healthcare workers remain skeptical of the vaccines. It is a shame that the
dedicated nurses that saved everyone’s arses for the last 1-1/2 years, around
covid daily, and not vaccinated, are now told to kneel in front of their
hospital masters and receive a vaccination or get fired. Now isn’t that a fine ‘howdo you do’? Hey control freaks, if those great nurses do not want vaccinated,
let them keep doing what they have been doing. Leave them alone.
Forbes posts a video on YouTube that tallies the data forvaccinations. 21% of Americans from 18 to 29 years old say they will never get
vaccinated. 18% of men say they will never get vaccinated. 46% of republicans
have not been vaccinated. 20% of Fox News channel viewers are unwilling to get
vaccinated (Fox News is republican-run media).
44% of white evangelical protestants have not been
vaccinated. 33% of South Dakota (a red state which leans republican) residents
say they will not get vaccinated. 32% of Idaho residents and 29% of Alaska and
Oklahoma residents say they will not get vaccinated. Maybe the Whitehouse would
be wise to focus efforts on these four states since that would be the biggest
pool of unvaccinated folks to win over.
37% of agricultural workers say they will not get
vaccinated. Why isn’t there mobile vaccination units out at the farms and small
town meeting places, feed stores, ag centers, the proverbial general stores,
where folks can receive a quick shot and get back to work? Ag workers and
farmers work hard and do not have time to dilly-dally.
27% of construction workers say they will not take the shot.
This is a group that wants to be viewed as macho. Grunt, grunt. 24% of food and
drink workers say they will not get vaccinated so they likely will have to find
a new profession unless the entertainment industry buckles and relaxes vaccine
mandates.
The Forbes video also says, for the vaccine hesitant folks,
36% worry about side effects. 31% say the vaccines were developed too quickly
and 22% say they do not think the vaccine prevents you from dying.
The KFF data is also useful in assessing the status of USvaccinations. It is helpful to compare two data sets to see if they jive. The
KFF data says 54% of republicans are vaccinated while the Forbes data above
says 46% of republicans are vaccinated a much lower number. Thus, the Forbes
data may be painting a darker picture of the unvaccinated than is actually the
case. Forbes and the KFF data are in dead-level agreement with 21% of the young
folks 18 to 29 years old not planning to get vaccinated (1 in 5).
Interestingly, many of the rock concerts and sporting events
must have many unvaccinated folks attending, perhaps they had to show a
negative test, but the infections have not increased due to these events. The
festivals and sports games do not appear to be superspreader events. This bodes
well for the pandemic subsiding and perhaps happy holidays ahead.
The KFF data says 20% of republicans and 16% of independents
will definitely not take the shot. 18% of men will not get vaccinated matching
the Forbes data. 16% of blacks, 15% of whites and 11% of Hispanics definitely
do not plan to get vaccinated. Perhaps the push for vaccinations has run its
course. It would be stupid for the US to enforce more vaccine mandates on the
public since it only serves to split the population fostering hate and distrust.
The US wave 5 of daily new cases has topped-out and the
active cases chart will hopefully flatten and roll over in the coming days
which will give healthcare workers a much-needed break. With the delta wave likely
retreating, and the need for 6 weeks time for a mRNA vaccine to be fully
effective, monoclonal antibody treatments are the obvious go-to tool over the
coming days and few weeks to seriously tamp down US deaths and hospitalizations.
However, the question is, will Sleepy Joe Biden wake up and rise to the mAb occasion?
Note Added Sunday Morning, 9/19/21, at 3:00 AM EST: The US reports 64.6K daily new cases for Saturday a sub 100K number although it is the weekend. It is the first sub 100K daily new cases since early August. Great news indeed even if it is the weekend. Today's number should be even lower so the moving averages can be pulled back down. The7-day MA is sloping down again at 135K cases per day. 849 Americans die yesterday from COVID-19. If some of those folks had received the monoclonal antibody treatment they would not have even been in the hospital. Idaho is in ugly shape. The last 2 days are the deadliest days ever of the pandemic for Idaho with nearly 100 people dying. Idaho is shipping patients to Washington state hospitals. Washington politicians say they will help but they should not be viewed as Idaho's "stopgap" plan. Care is rationed since the incompetent managers did not plan or develop a strategy for the delta wave. It is easier to do nothing and tell people to get vaccinated. Of course, Idaho blames the unvaccinated people for all the problems. Ditto Montana. Ditto Kentucky. Ditto West Virginia where they are dropping like flies. 57 West Virginians take that country road home, as John Denver would sing, on Friday, 9/17/21, the deadliest day of the pandemic for the Mountain State. Arizona reports deaths over 100 for 2 of the last 4 days perhaps related to the migrant crisis at the border. American mediocrity is on full display daily. Some one wake up Sleepy Joe and tell him to distribute more monoclonal antibody treatments to the states to prevent hospitalizations and deaths. Or is it more important to teach the unvaccinated a lesson and kill them? The hospitals receive $39K for a COVID-19 patient. The college football games are played to packed stadiums again this week. The Florida Gators lose to the Alabama Crimson Tide (the number one college team) in a close game with over 80K fans enthusiastically rooting for their teams. The college students at several stadiums (mostly republican states) are shouting a chant that is derogatory towards President Biden. It is not a high-point for America but it reflects the current zeitgeist due to the Delta variant wave, Afghanistan debacle, ongoing southern border crisis, and other problems that Sleepy Joe created for himself and the country. The crowds chant, "F*$# Joe Biden, da-da, da-da-da, F#@* Joe Biden, da-da, da-da-da, F$#& Joe Biden, da-da, da-da-da, you get the idea.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 9/19/21, at 11:00 AM EST: The Sunday morning political news shows discuss the booster shot decision by the FDA. Lord Fauci says the FDA made the right decision and in the next breath says everyone will likely need the third shot eventually. CNN (democrat media) invites Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, a republican, for an interview and slams him with a statistic about Mississippi's elevated death count. Reeves holds his ground and correctly states how Mississippi is on the mend. CNN, and the Whitehouse, picked the wrong state to pick on. That was stupid. As shown above with the state list, only 3 states, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Mississippi, display active cases charts that have flattened and rolled over. The media quotes weekly data that is looking at numbers a week old; they need to up their game and report numbers that are more up to date and in real-time. CNN is the Whitehouse's main vaccination cheerleading outlet. Mississippi is one of the least vaccinated states in the country so slamming them on the total deaths while publicizing the low vax rate is thought to encourage people to get vaccinated. In truth, Mississippi's daily new cases peak on 8/20/21 one month ago! Mississippi's active cases peak on 8/31/21 (note the 11-day span between the peaks for modeling the delta wave) three weeks ago! Mississippi deaths remain elevated but never exceeded the highs from January. Mississippi hospitalizations are falling like a stone as per the CDC data and well below the peak levels last January. The funniest part of it all is that King Biden wants to vilify Mississippi for its low vaccination rate but it is one of only 3 US states that are recovering from the delta wave right now 'despite' the low vax rate. The United States is likely moving into herd immunity territory.
Note Added Sunday Afternoon, 9/19/21: Comedian Chris Rock has tested positive for COVID-19. It is another breakthrough case. Rock had the J&J vaccine that he comically calls, "the food stamps of vaccines." Rock says, "Trust me, you don't want this. Get vaccinated." The Los Angeles Rams NFL (American) football organization announces a vaccine mandate joining three other football teams. There are 32 NFL teams so 12% are mandating vaccines. The Georgia Zoo reports 18 of 20 gorillas sick with COVID-19.
Note Added Sunday Evening, 9/19/21: Cuba boasts that its Abdala vaccine is over 92% effective against COVID-19 and is vaccinating 2 year old's and older. They better watch that the needle does not come out the other side of those tiny little arms. Thousands of Cuban children are crying today but they cheer up once told they can eat as much ice cream as they want. Vietnam approves the Abdula vaccine for use as the country tries to defeat the covid monster. Vietnam has only 6% of its population vaccinated.
Note Added Monday Morning, 9/20/21, at 3:00 AM EST: The US reports only 32.7K daily new cases for Sunday although it is typically the lowest data of the week. Nonetheless, it is a fantastic number with the 7-day MA down to 121K daily new cases per day. The 3-day MA (choppier shorter-term moving average based on the last 3 days), breaks out of the few-day sideways pattern to the downside printing a substantial lower low. It's beautiful. The US active cases curve continues higher but should begin flattening and potentially rolling over this week due to the daily new cases peaking over 3 weeks ago on 8/27/21. 311 Americans die yesterday. Get those monoclonal antibody treatments to Americans, Mr President, do not waste any more time. Vaccinations are not going to help any of them now. Most importantly, the mAb treatments will lessen the demands on hospitals. Perhaps retired nurses can help out and administer the mAb IV's since they have stuck so many arms over the years they cannot remember how many. The path ahead for the United States this week depends on the mid-Atlantic and mountain Midwest states. The northeastern states are also seeing infections rise but they are highly vaccinated and the numbers are smaller which impact the overall US numbers to a lesser extent. Thus, states such as Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, as well as Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and the Dakota's, will guide America forward and dictate how long the delta wave lingers. Texas's active cases chart is starting to roll over to the downside to form the coveted bell shape. More good news.
Note Added Monday Morning, 9/20/21, at 4:00 AM EST: Unvaccinated Brazil President Bolsonaro plans to attend the UN General Assembly in New York ignoring the guidelines that all members and people involved in the event should be vaccinated. Bolsonaro says his body has adequate antibodies and he does not need the vaccination. The UN says it does not have the authority to prevent any head of state from entering its buildings. New York wants people vaccinated that attend such events but the elite live by different rules than the peons. President Biden wants to focus on the pandemic as a key issue during the UN summit so it will be interesting to watch Bolsonaro snub the vaccination rhetoric. US futures markets are tanking. European stock indexes are down -1% or more across the board. S&P futures (the S&P 500 index is the US stock market) are down 60 points; -1.3%. Dow Jones Industrials futures are collapsing 550 points; -1.6%. Wall Street may be headed towards a significant selloff event which verifies the stock charts topping-out this year.
Note Added Monday Morning, 9/20/21, at 6:00 AM EST: Pfizer releases data for 5 to 11 year old's indicating that the vaccine (at only one-third the dosage) is safe and effective for children in this age group. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine may be available for the 5 to 11 year old's by Halloween. The data will have to be reviewed by the FDA and CDC advisory committees and be granted emergency approval. The youngsters will receive a shot in their Halloween bags instead of candy. Pfizer says vaccine trial data for the 6 month to 5 year old's will be released by the end of the year. Interestingly, if a child is 11 years, 11 months and 29 days old (1 day shy of 12), he is given one-third the dose of Pfizer vaccine that he would receive if he waits 1 more day and become 12 years old. Is that good? Is it bad? This will need clarification over the next month. Do the 12 to 18 year old's already receive less of a vaccine dosage? After the disastrous news over the last couple weeks, President Biden smiles as he moves the morning pudding around in his mouth. Sleepy Joe is glad the week is starting on an upbeat, as if it was planned that way. Biden will benefit politically in the weeks ahead if the US wave 5 continues rolling over and the delta wave goes bye-bye. Joe, donning a bathrobe overtop dark slacks, asks two Secret Service agents if they have seen his hat.
Note Added Monday Morning, 9/20/21, at 7:00 AM EST: From the pandemic's hypocrisy department, another politician decrees that the peons 'do as I say not as I do'. San Francisco Mayor London Breed is filmed celebrating at a party at the Black Cat nightclub dancing and singing maskless. As mayor, she has proclaimed such behavior unlawful. When asked about breaking her own rules, Breed deflects touting nonsense about a washed-up band (Tony! Toni! Tone!; funky music for the hood) reuniting being more important than the COVID-19 pandemic. Idiot. When she realizes her excuse is juvenile, she changes the story saying she was sipping a drink and eating but the video clearly shows her dancing, singing and grooving. She loses credibility every time she opens her mouth and would be better off to simply own up to her misstep. But no one does that these days. Breed breeds distrust and represents what is wrong with America. People in power want to live and rule like royalty as they decree draconian rules on the huddled masses. This behavior creates the breeding grounds of revolution. The big mouth, yet charismatic and pretty, New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a democrat, known as AOC, dons a gown at a $50K per head Met Gala (the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute fundraiser) that says, "Tax the Rich" in a blood red color. AOC is given a free ticket for the event but that should be viewed as a gift since she participated in the event. The sickening aspect of the performance is not the cliché message on the dress but instead photographs and video of the maskless Ocasio-Cortez enjoying the evening while masked servants carry the train on her gown. The politicians and élite class in America view themselves as royalty. S&P futures continue tanking this morning down -72 points; -1.6%. Dow futures are plummeting -642 points; -1.9%. The major US stock market indexes are headed for a -2% drop and more when the opening bell rings at 9:30 AM EST.
Note Added Monday Morning, 9/20/21, at 11:00 AM EST: Starting in November, the US will lift travel restrictions on foreigners that are fully vaccinated. It will help businesses, the airlines and the economy recover if it comes to fruition. It is interesting, and contradictory, that restrictions are placed on travelers entering the United States but thousands of migrants are crossing the southern border willy-nilly each day. It is nonsensical. The Whitehouse avoids answering questions asking about the contradicting situation. Washington, DC, Mayor Bowser slaps her workforce ditching coronavirus tests now mandating vaccines for all Washington, DC, employees. Get down on your knees, and roll up your sleeves. An outspoken, far-right, anti-vaccine influencer, Laura Loomer, tests positive for COVID-19 and is suffering serious symptoms. Loomer said she hopes she gets coronavirus to prove that it is not a big deal; well, the idiot got her wish. Now she pleads, "Please pray for me." There are no atheists in fox holes. She is treating with azithromycin, an antibiotic that fights infections like Zithomax Z-Pak, another brand name that Joe Rogan used. Loomer is also taking hydroxychloroquine but doctors will not allow her to take ivermectin probably due to pressure placed on the doctors from the Whitehouse. Most importantly, she receives the Regeneron monoclonal antibody treatment so she will likely recover over the next day or two.
Note Added Monday Afternoon, 9/20/21: The Johns-Hopkins US death toll exceeds 675K so the headlines about 'surpassing the deaths from the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic' are plastered across the television, radio, internet and social media platforms. It is a grim milestone indeed. The Worldometer US death count is approaching 695K Americans on its way to 700K. The US stock market mini-crashes today. The S&P 500 collapses -1.7%. The Dow plummets -1.8%. Nasdaq Composite -2.2%. Russell 200 -2.4%. World indexes drop across the board. Global investors fear that Chinese company Evergrande may be a Lehman Brothers (Lehman was highly leveraged and collapsed in Fall 2008 sending the United States, and the world due to contagion, into the 2008-2009 financial collapse and economic tailspin). The Emmy Awards ceremony occurs in Hollywood with the elite ignoring mask and other rules as usual. Comedian Seth Rogan quips, "Good to be here at the Emmy Awards, let me start by saying....there's way too many of us in this little room." The show's producers are in a tizzy proclaiming that all COVID-19 protocols are followed and everyone is either vaccinated or has presented a negative test.
Note Added Monday Evening, 9/20/21: NIH Director Collins appears on Fox News (republican media) which is surprising. The interview is butted up against the top of the hour so it is only a couple minutes and Collins comments on the booster shots. There was likely an agreement before hand that Fox was not allowed to ask about the Wuhan Lab leak or gain of function research scandals. Fox News is trying to become more moderate but once a republican network always a republican network. Former President Trump praises Newsmax these days instead of Fox News. Interestingly, 70% of the shots now are the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. Some of that percentage is Americans running out and getting a booster shot independent of the FDA and CDC decisions. CNN (democrat media) keeps running stories and video about fat people dying from COVID-19 to encourage people to get vaccinated.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 9/21/21, at 5:00 AM EST: The US reports 86K daily new cases for Monday. It is great to see a sub 100K number on a weekday. The US wave 5 for daily cases continues rolling over so October will be a lot happier month. The US active cases curve moves higher so that is the chart that needs to flatten and roll over to prove that wave 5 is being defeated. 746 Americans die yesterday. Hopefully, more monoclonal antibody treatments will be provided to meet the demand so lives can be saved. Idaho remains in coronavirus Hell with hospitals overwhelmed. Too many hospital managers tout the "get vaccinated" line without properly planning for the influx of patients due to the progressing delta wave of infections. It is easy to tell people to get vaccinated but difficult for the incompetent managers to do their jobs (planning, stocking inventory of supplies including ventilators, making arrangements for increased staffing, etc...). Fire them. Several Idaho hospitals complain that they are running out of supplies. There is no excuse for such incompetence. That is a management problem not the fault of all the great nurses, doctors, medics and healthcare workers. Thankfully, Idaho hospital admissions and hospitalizations may have peaked according to the CDC data, which is a few days old, but that is a positive since the situation should be a few days better. The Idaho mayhem will continue another couple weeks but at least the workers can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Washington state continues helping with the hospital overflow from Idaho.

Oklahoma News 4 reports that Oklahoma State Medical Association President Dr Mary Clarke says probenecid appears safe and decreases COVID-19's infectivity. Research is underway so perhaps in the weeks or months ahead there will simply be a pill to pop to combat China Flu. The WHO says ivermectin is being used in South Africa to combat coronavirus as it is slammed in the United States by stupid people that call it snake oil. The WHO provides cover to other corrupt organizations and players by labeling the ivermectin use as a drug trial. The Lewiston Tribune reports on the successful use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and ivermectin around the world. HCQ is in heavy use in China and India. Dr Satoshi Omura, that received the Nobel Prize for the discovery of ivermectin at Merck, says it is a better drug to use than HCQ in combatting COVID-19. It is cheap, too. Most of this information is muzzled by the democrat press in America since the sole focus (as per the Whitehouse) remains on vaccinations only. Tennessee shames itself by limiting access to monoclonal antibody treatments. At least they are providing the mAb treatment to unvaccinated folks so that is good. If the downtrend continues, which it should, Tennessee will be below the January peak in hospitalizations in a few days so why is the system having such trouble at handling the outbreak? The incompetent management in the medical system and the state politicians sat around for a few months telling people to get vaccinated, sitting on their laurels, but now feign surprise on how the virus (predictably) spreads from the South northward.

Novant Health in North Carolina suspends about 400 employees for non-compliance with the vaccine mandate. The health system says 35K employees have accepted the vaccine mandate over 98% compliance. Employees with exemptions are allowed to keep working so why discriminate against other workers that are not vaccinated? With the healthcare worker shortage ongoing, none of those folks will have trouble finding new jobs if Novant chooses to fire them. Dr Fauci stirs-up a new controversy opining that it may be a good idea to mandate vaccines for children. From the Med Page Today, Dr Marty Makary says that after reviewing the data for 0 to 12 year old's, he cannot find a single healthy child that has died to date. There are a few hundred deaths in kids with preexisting conditions. The risk of a healthy child dying from COVID-19 is nil. But Makary is quick to say that he is agreeable to vaccinating children with underlying health issues including obesity. These are honest facts that the media silences. Parents need to discuss vaccinations with their doctor/s that understand their children's specific health needs. The Cleveland Clinic says a vaccination is likely not needed for kids with natural immunity.

A new study shows the Gilead drug remdesivir (Veklury) can reduce hospitalizations by 87% in high-risk patients if given early enough. Data show pregnant American women remain vaccine hesitant. A study indicates that pregnant women pass protection on to their babies. Dr Jorge Rodriguez appears on CNN proclaiming that US deaths will remain well into the hundreds if not a thousand or more per day for the next year or two. What's he smoking? That is not going to happen. He is fear-mongering to hype vaccinations that is why he appears on CNN. A month from now the US will likely be down in the 100 to 300 deaths per day range as the delta wave continues rolling over. Remember the older people are either dead, vaccinated or had covid. The pathogen now works through the younger population aided by schools and universities reopening. Over 212 million Americans are vaccinated with at least one dose and it is likely 100 million or more have had COVID-19 (by the CDC's own admission). These are herd immunity numbers since the total population of the United States is 330 million people. Where do the bodies come from that will be perishing at the rate of 1K per day for the next year? Many people are dying now due to Biden's games with the monoclonal antibody treatments. President Biden holds a virtual COVID-19 summit with other world leaders. He starts by saying 2 million people were fully vaccinated when he took office to 182 million now. This is a misleading statement. Nearly 23 million doses were administered when Biden took office on 1/20/21. Trump missed his goal of 20 million doses in arms by the end of 2019 but the orange one achieved the goal before he left office. Since there is a 3 or 4 week waiting period between the shots, Biden plays a game by saying 2 million people were 'fully vaccinated' on 1/20/21. It is accurate yet misleading. But is it accurate? Double-checking the fully vaccinated cumulative graph by the CDC, it shows 3.4 million people fully vaccinated on 1/20/21 almost twice Joe's 2 million claim. He is accurate with the 182 million people fully vaccinated which the chart verifies. Santa Claus Biden pledges 500 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine to third-world nations as well as $750 million in aid for logistics and delivering the shots (US taxpayer money). The vaccine will ship to the developing world within the next year which sounds like a slow-walk. This places the United States total vaccine doses given to foreign nations at 1.1 billion. Biden and the West have a goal to vaccinate 70% of the world. There are 7.67 billion people on the planet so 70% is 5.3 billion people (7.67x0.7). Since the Pfizer vaccine is at least 2 shots, doubling the 5.3 number is 10.6 billion doses of the 2-shot mRNA vaccines to reach the 70% goal; call it 11 billion doses required. The 500 million Pfizer doses pledged by the president is helpful but only 0.5 billion of the 11.0 billion needed, or 5%, or one-twentieth (19 more of those 500 million dose pledges are needed to reach the 70% goal). Biden asks other wealthy nations to step up and pledge vaccine to the developing world. If he can strongarm 19 or more nations, while at the same time beat Pfizer and BioNTech with a rubber hose telling them to provide the doses below cost to help the world, maybe he can pull it off. Biden missed his goal of vaccinating 70% of adult Americans with one dose by July 4th so maybe he should have picked a different percentage for the world.
Note Added Wednesday Afternoon, 9/22/21: The FDA clarifies its announcement and authorization of Pfizer booster shots for folks over 65 years old, the 18 to 64 year old's with underlying health conditions and those working at jobs that are high-risk such as healthcare workers. It is unclear if teachers are in this group. The CDC will provide further guidelines tomorrow and then the booster shots can begin. Interestingly, millions of Americans have already gotten a booster shot that are immunocompromised but also some people have simply chosen to take a third shot. The buoyancy in the vaccination rate in recent weeks is not due to new people getting their first shot as much as it is the immunocompromised receiving third shots and people hiding under the bed each day running out to get a booster shot then quickly returning home to live with the dust bunnies again. The US vaccination rate is falling off ever since Biden turned up the volume on the vaccine mandate rhetoric. People, especially Americans, do not like to be told what to do, let alone forced to inject something into their bodies. President Biden is bluffing with the vaccine mandate decrees. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is charged with writing the vaccine mandate edicts and are likely pulling their hair out. The US courts will likely shoot down the vaccine mandate rules but Biden has probably made the calculation, which is working, that talking fire and brimstone and fear-mongering concerning vaccines will keep encouraging people to get the shot. What is more likely is that people sitting on the fence about getting vaccinated are likely turned-off by the vaccine mandate proclamations and will stay in the unvaccinated camp. Unvaccinated blacks across the South are not interested in receiving a shot and they do not appear to be changing their minds. Blacks, whites, Latinos, pregnant women, young people, religious folks, and many other groups simply do not plan to get vaccinated. This is reality. Companies forcing employees to be vaccinated are creating labor and other problems within their walls. OSHA is likely slow-walking the vaccine mandate legislation because they see it as more of a problem rather than something helpful. Hundreds of Navy Seals, an elite fighting force in the military like the Green Berets and 82nd Airborne, are refusing the vaccine mandate and will be leaving the force. This is not good. Most people were vaccinated but of course the one gal that was not vaccinated is blamed for spreading the disease. The R.1 variant contains the E484K mutation seen in other strains. The R.1 mutation is hinting that it has some amount of resistance to the vaccines. The jackasses at the WHO that confused everyone with the stupid Greek virus naming system does not assign a fancy name to R.1. This is because it is considered a variant under monitoring (VUM). The WHO idiots give Greek names to variants of interest (VOI) and variants of concern (VOC) but not VUM. Bureaucracies create bureaucracy so they can keep their jobs. The WHO downgrades the Eta (Nigeria B1525), Iota (New York B1526) and Kappa (India B1617.1 a mutation off of B1617) variants calling them 'former' variants of interest (VOI). The Delta (India B1617) variant has dominated the others. Lambda (Peru C37) and Mu (Colombia B1621) remain on the VOI list. Note Added Thursday Evening, 9/23/21, at 5:00 PM EST: Dr Robert Malone, the inventor of the mRNA technology that led to the development of the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, is interviewed by Sean Hannity (republican media) on his radio show (heard on 1320 AM talk radio in western Pennsylvania which is applicable to the comment below). Malone says, "The vaccines were rushed." He supports the vaccines but suggests a different approach in distributing the shots. Malone says, based on his analysis of the current data, that anyone over 65 years old, the morbidly obese and folks with immunodeficiencies (comorbidities and high-risk conditions) should receive the mRNA vaccine. He says a risk/benefit analysis supports his conclusion. However, Malone suggests that others may consider not taking the vaccine (after of course consulting with their doctors about their own medical conditions) and instead make use of the wide variations of drugs, treatments and therapies available. Malone does not mention any specific treatments but he is referencing hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), ivermectin, monoclonal antibody treatments, antibiotics, steroids, vitamin D, other vitamins such as A, C and E, zinc, supplements, etc..., that are proven effective against COVID-19 and in use around the world including America. Dr Malone talks about monoclonal antibody treatments, such as Regeneron, Eli Lilly is another and others are in development, and mentions Joe Rogan's recovery, and then discusses the success in Florida at tamping-down the death count of the delta wave by using monoclonal antibody treatments. Malone mentions Governor DeSantis's name and pssfft.....silence. 1320 AM in Pennsylvania goes off air for a few seconds but long enough to muddle-up and ruin Malone's comments on monoclonal antibodies and Florida. Everyone can decide for themselves if that was Big Brother putting the kibosh on Malone's comments, or not. The Whitehouse is solely focused on vaccinations as the only way to end the pandemic while ignoring all other effective treatments. Americans die needlessly that could have been saved with mAb; it is sickening. The interview was very enlightening and it is great to hear straight talk from a doctor about the pandemic without the political narratives and spin muddying the picture. Note Added Thursday Evening, 9/23/21, at 6:00 PM EST: The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) provides an official recommendation for implementing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorization of booster shots for those 65 years and older and at high-risk. The CDC advisory Committee endorses the FDA decision and distribution of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for those 65 and older by a unanimous vote 15 to 0. It is funny that the talking heads, that are paid to talk, still cannot pronounce BioNTech properly. Simply think of the famous singer 'Beyonce' when you say BioNTech that will get you started in the right direction. Or the word 'beyond'. Pronounce the 'beyon' part and then add the 'tech'. It is funny since folks see the letters 'bio' and immediately want to pronounce it the way it is universally used as in biotechnology, except in the case of pronouncing BioNTech. The CDC decision creates confusion. Of course it does. The committee votes 13 to 2 to endorse the use of the Pfizer vaccine for the 50 to 64 year old age group with underlying conditions. The vote is 9 to 6 in favor of offering a booster to the 18 to 64 year old's with underlying conditions. The CDC advisory committee then veers away from the FDA authorization voting down by 9 to 6 the recommendation for booster shots for anyone working at or around high-risk jobs such as healthcare employees, prisoners and guards, teachers, grocery store clerks and folks at homeless shelters. A couple committee members are concerned that if you make the vaccine available to basically anyone, it sends a message that the shot does not work when in fact it does work and prevents serious illness and death. About 100 million Americans have received the 2-shot Pfizer/BioNTech regimen. The committee does not have sufficient evidence to recommend that people that received the Moderna or J&J shots get an additional Pfizer shot. Hold your horses. In comes the cavalry. CDC Director Walensky rides in on a pale green horse reversing the committee's recommendation against boosters for healthcare workers and other folks at high-risk jobs (the failed 9 to 6 vote). Walensky places that recommendation back into the official CDC communication and people ages 18 to 64 at risk for "exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting" may receive a booster shot. In other words, healthcare employees and frontline workers can get a booster. The word 'institutional' is interesting since prisoners, prison guards, teachers and other occupations can claim they are at-risk and likely receive the booster. If Walensky is the CDC dictator that can overrule the panel decisions, why have an advisory committee? A 7-hour meeting is flushed down the toilet. She could have simply passed the edict down from On High herself. A director overruling a CDC advisory committee decision has not happened in 18 years! The single focus of the CDC and Whitehouse is vaccination shots while putting blinders on to all other COVID-19 treatments and therapies. It is a grave disservice to Americans. The end result of the CDC theatrics today is the same as the FDA authorization. The booster shots have been ongoing for the immunocompromised but can now begin for the 65 and older age group and for those at-risk. Humorously, lots of people already took a third shot choosing not to wait for the official FDA and CDC approvals and guidelines and many likely do not work in an at-risk environment. They must be very worried about dying. When you spend your life worried about dying, you forget to live.

Far too many Americans are dying needlessly over the last month due to the Biden administration's incompetence at getting mAb treatments to the public especially the hardest-hit states. A vaccination does not do anyone any good once you get sick. Monoclonal antibodies will. America reports 127.5K daily new cases a wonderful number. Of course, it is a lot of fellow citizens becoming sick with China Virus but the numbers continue trailing lower as the delta wave subsides which is great news. There is one more hurdle to clear today since the Friday data is typically the highest of the week. If the daily new cases for today can remain below 135K, which is the highest cases over the last week, throw confetti and celebrate. The 7-day MA trend line is at 126K and moving lower so a sub 126K number would be fantastic. Daily cases over 140K would be a disappointment but no biggie and the downtrend would be expected to continue next week. The US active cases curve (see chart above) is moving sideways at 9.7 to 9.8 million cases which is the 'flattening of the curve' if it continues as it should. The active cases for Florida have rolled over lower and are forming the bell shape to signal that the virus is being defeated in the Sunshine State. Ditto Texas which is surprising considering the ongoing border crisis. The news is good. When the active cases curves roll over the pandemic is fizzling-out. Illinois's active cases are starting to roll over lower. West Virginia's active cases are dropping quickly. Pennsylvania active cases are flatlining. The last 3 are mid-Atlantic states not showing the severity of the delta wave that plagued the southern states. States such as California, New York and Georgia, however, need to see their active cases curves flatten and roll over. Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, the mountain Midwest states, remain a mess.
Note Added Friday Morning, 9/24/21, at 8:00 AM EST: CDC Director Walensky is on the defensive concerning her call to overrule the CDC advisory committee on the recommendation that people working in high-risk jobs get the booster shot. The panel voted against booster shots for employees at-risk such as healthcare workers, teachers and grocery store workers. Walensky says the overruling is not an overruling. "I want to be very clear that I did not overrule an advisory committee." No? Humorously, it only looks that way because that is what happened. She proclaims that it "was a close call" and extensive data and evidence was reviewed. The garbage man calls himself a sanitation engineer but he is still a garbage man.
Note Added Friday Morning, 9/24/21, at 10:00 AM EST: President Biden speaks about the coronavirus pandemic announcing the approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech booster shots if 6 months beyond the second shot and over 65 years old. Booster shots are also approved for anyone 18 years old and older with underlying conditions and for workers in high-risk occupations such as nurses, medics, grocery store workers and teachers. Biden says 75% of the country is vaccinated and 25% is not. He blames the 25% for preventing people from receiving regular care (trying to inflict a guilt trip on the unvaccinated to convince them to get the shot). Biden also blames the slipping economy on the unvaccinated. A child just stole a cookie from the kitchen cookie jar and Mommy saw him. When confronted, the child stuttered for a few seconds and then opined that he is innocent and the unvaccinated did it. Sleepy Joe raises his index finger skyward decreeing, "The refusal to get vaccinated has hurt all of us." Biden says the unvaccinated are "causing a lot of damage." He makes the unvaccinated feel so dirty. Biden is pleased that businesses are stepping-up to mandate vaccines. He opines about the sick folks seen on television crying out in their last breath, "if only I had gotten vaccinated." Biden plays it up shaking his head sadly saying, "if only, if only." The stage lost a great actor when Biden went to Washington, DC. He says, "Listen to the unvaccinated in the hospitals! Do the right thing (his perceived idea of what the right thing is)." The president tells Americans to text "438829" or go to "vaccines.gov" to find a vaccination site nearby. Biden says booster shots will be available in 80K locations.
Note Added Friday Morning, 9/24/21, at 11:00 AM EST: 70,000 healthcare workers in New York are not vaccinated with a deadline looming on Monday that mandates the shots. If the employer does not force the mandate on workers, the state may take action against the companies. If the healthcare workers are fired on Monday due to non-compliance, hospital and other patient services would immediately suffer. Hospitals complain of staff shortages so screwing good employees out of their jobs simply because they do not want vaccinated will only exacerbate problems in providing care to patients. Six employees sue United Airlines alleging that the airline is discriminating against workers that asked for medical and religious exemptions. United Airlines CEO Kirby claims 97% of the employees are vaccinated and says the unvaccinated will be fired beginning Tuesday.
Note Added Friday Afternoon, 9/24/21, at 12:00 PM EST: Chaos occurs on the set of the ABC (democrat media) television show "The View" which is four women sitting around a table talking about current events; Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro. About halfway through the show, as Vice President Kamala Harris was about to be brought on set for an interview, confusion occurs with the producer halting the Harris introduction. Behar stumbles and then says Hostin and Navarro must leave the set. The show cuts to a commercial. The confusion continues as Behar says the two co-hosts have tested positive for COVID-19. Behar apologizes saying they are breakthrough cases since both are vaccinated and the show has followed all medical protocols. More confusion occurs after Behar says the set has been cleaned extensively in the commercial break and they are ready for the veep. This is stupid. It is common sense that you do not bring the vice president of the US onto a set where infected people were breathing and sitting. The plan changes again. The vice president does not appear on set but during the last few minutes of the broadcast appears remotely for a quickie interview. The hosts should have been informed of their test status before the show since the veep is such an important guest that should not be exposed to anyone potentially ill from coronavirus. The View debacle receives lots of media attention throughout the day. Hours later, unsubstantiated reports say both hosts have taken 2 more tests each and all have come up negative so the drama today may have been due to 2 false positive tests. If the hosts had a PCR test, if is very uncommon for it to show a false positive. There will be more to the story. The four ladies that gab about the news become the news.
Note Added Friday Afternoon, 9/24/21, at 3:00 PM EST: The US says about 2.4 million Americans have received a booster shot which helps create buoyancy in the US vaccination rate. Florida Governor DeSantis creates controversy saying asymptomatic students exposed to coronavirus cannot be forced into quarantine. Supply chain issues are hitting the United States. The coronavirus outbreaks in Southeast Asia and China send container ship rates to the moon (inflation). There are concerns that many holiday and Christmas gift products will not arrive in time. School lunch programs are also having difficulty in securing suppliers. The huge retailer Costco places purchase limits on TP (toilet paper), paper towels and bottled water. It is costing you more to quench your thirst, wipe your face and wipe your arse.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 9/25/21, at 5:00 AM EST: The US reports 131K daily new cases a great number since Friday's are typically the highest data days of the week. The week ahead should display a dramatic improvement in the United States. The US wave 5 of daily new cases is falling and heading lower. The 7-day MA is at 122K daily cases and dropping. The 3-day MA of US daily cases is back to printing lower highs and lower lows. It is all good news but 2K Americans die yesterday. Biden wants vaccinations to be the only focus so he lets the unvaccinated, that become sick, die to teach them a lesson. The deaths do not have to be that high but there is something going on in the statistic that makes you wonder. If a person is in the hospital, with any serious ailment or disease such as cancer, a stroke or heart attack, croaks, but also has COVID-19, or the subsequent testing or autopsy confirms coronavirus, the corpse is labeled as a covid death. Since many Americans have been unable to access healthcare for their ailments for 1-1/2 years due to the pandemic, there are likely many more dying than would have died if the China Virus would have never occurred. Perhaps some folks are labeled as covid deaths when it may simply be a good ole fashioned heart attack. Nonetheless, with the US daily cases peaking on 8/27/21 now falling for 28 days, the active cases curve should flatten and roll over now, and the deaths should continue to trail lower hopefully with a big drop lower over the next couple weeks. Monoclonal antibody treatments would save many more lives but the Whitehouse and CDC are dropping the ball. Idaho's daily new cases may have peaked last Tuesday and Montana and Wyoming last Monday. Deaths remain elevated in the 3 states. Washington state reports elevated cases because it is taking on some of Idaho's mayhem. Alabama is recovering but deaths remain stubbornly high. The mid-Atlantic states are keeping the covid monster at bay. West Virginia was doing well over the last week at beating back the current wave but daily new cases spike to 2.7K yesterday the highest ever. That is bad. Hey *ssholes in charge, get the monoclonal antibody treatments to those folks to save their lives. Chop, chop. Thinking out loud, looking at the data, the Japan R.1 variant infected 45 at a Kentucky nursing home. Perhaps the Japan R.1 scourge moves into West Virginia causing the explosive move higher in cases yesterday? Neighboring states such as Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland are containing the COVID-19 wave from the South. Is West Virginia being infected with this new R.1 bug? West Virginia logs the 2 deadliest days ever of the pandemic on 9/17/21 and 9/20/21. Genomic testing in West Virginny can provide the answer. Where's Biden? Sleeping?
Note Added Saturday Morning, 9/25/21, at 7:00 AM EST: Russia crosses the 203K deaths grim milestone and the Ruskies continue dying and at a faster pace than the last couple months of 8 hundo per day. What is going on behind that Russian iron curtain? 828 Russians die yesterday the deadliest day of the pandemic. Russia's active cases are the highest ever and the daily cases continue higher in a new wave. Dictator Putin has a major problem on his hands as he hides in the basement of one of his palaces behind the gold-plated juke box. Something bad is occurring in Russia; perhaps a new variant? Conversely, it is all happy talk in Norway as the nation returns to normal, everyday life. Norway believes there is little chance of the virus getting out of control again. Brazil President Bolsonaro's son and another staff member test positive for COVID-19 after the trip to the UN meeting in New York City. Brazil has beaten down the horrendous pandemic that raged from December through June but daily new cases are basing and moving sideways at about 20K per day which is an unacceptable level. Brazil needs to at least cut this number in half and more to continue defeating the pandemic.
Note Added Saturday Afternoon, 9/25/21: The courts grant a temporary injunction blocking the vaccine mandate for New York City schools. The vaccine mandate impacts teachers, cafeteria workers, security guards and other workers within the school system. If the mandate is enforced, the New York City school system may lose 10K teachers. It hurts parents that want their kids back in school. Humans like to cut their noses off to spite their faces. 82% of the teachers and department employees are vaccinated. Leave the unvaccinated folks alone. The ongoing divisiveness pitting American against American will lead to bad things. Push is coming to shove with the vaccinated versus unvaccinated and the vaccinated are the aggressors.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 9/26/21, at 4:00 AM EST: The US reports 54.1K daily new cases a nice low Saturday number. Today's daily cases should be even lower. Last Saturday was 129K cases and the Saturday before that 161K cases. The numbers are looking good. The US active cases curve is continuing to try and flatten; this needs to flatten and roll over lower to form the bell shape which will unequivocally confirm that the delta wave is over and on its way out the door going forward. 765 Americans die yesterday. Russia and Ukraine worsen. Philippines is improving. The worst is likely over for Southeast Asia a terrible global COVID-19 hotspot this year. Mexico continues improving. The world is recovering from coronavirus and the US is on the mend waiting for the active cases curve to flatten and roll over which should occur any day forward.
Note Added Sunday Afternoon, 9/26/21, at 1:00 PM EST: CDC Director Walensky is doing interviews on television to clarify the booster shot confusion. Humorously, with perhaps the understatement of the pandemic, she opines, "I recognize that this is confusing." Walensky proclaims, "We will not boost our way out of this pandemic." It always comes back to beating up on the unvaccinated. New York State Department of Labor decrees that any worker refusing to be vaccinated will be fired and not eligible for unemployment insurance. And you were stupid thinking America was actually a free country. Don't you feel dumb, now? Get down on your knees in front of authority and roll up your sleeves. Submit. If you do not, you will be fired from you job and not only that, you will not be allowed to collect unemployment after the state forces you from your job. Control freaks are destroying the nation and providing fuel for the coming class war. So be it. It is Our Destiny. NBA (basketball) Golden State Warrior star Andrew Wiggins is denied an exemption from vaccination for religious reasons. The league wants universal compliance with vaccination. The Warrior team is based in San Francisco so Wiggins would not be allowed to enter the arena if unvaccinated which is where the home games are played (remember Mayor Breed a couple days ago not living by these rules which are her own rules). To illustrate how stupid many rules are, the visiting basketball players do not have to be vaccinated at San Francisco or New York arenas. The New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics have several holdout players that do not want vaccinated. The NBA wants all players to kneel on the hardwood and submit to a vaccination. The USA is a nation of sick authoritarian control freaks.
Note Added Monday Morning, 9/27/21, at 4:00 AM EST: The world reports only 325K daily new cases yesterday the lowest number since June. The planet is on the mend from COVID-19. The world reports 4,990 China Virus deaths yesterday the lowest since October!! Fantastic news. The world's 7-day MA trend line on the deaths chart is about to take out the lows that occurred after waves 3 and 4 which would be an extremely positive development and confirm that the world has the virus on the run. Russia's daily new cases are over 22K the highest in 2 months. The US reports only 24.3K daily new cases yesterday a nice low Sunday number. It's beautiful as they say in Zoolander. The US active cases chart is at 9.81 to 9.86 million cases the last 3 days and still needs to flatten and roll over which should occur this week. The chart may be pesky and uncooperative if there are lots of folks receiving monoclonal antibody treatments since they may be counted as active patients. 259 Americans die yesterday finally a lower more palatable number although that is 259 families that will never be the same. The 259 deaths are the lowest since July as the media keeps pumping out the fear porn 24/7 trying to coerce people into getting vaccinated. Idaho and Washington state remain a mess. Ditto Kentucky, the epicenter of the Japan R.1 variant, although its daily new cases are off the peak for a couple weeks. West Virginia is a key state to monitor this week due to the massive spike in cases on Friday. Hopefully, it was a data anomalie and not the R.1 variant spreading east from the Bluegrass State.
Note Added Monday Afternoon, 9/27/21, at 1:00 PM EST: President Biden rolls up his sleeve on camera receiving the booster shot. Sleepy Joe proclaims that the vaccines can save your life or the lives of those around you. Former President Trump played games with his vaccine shots which is responsible for some of the ongoing vaccine hesitancy in the United States. Trump, his wife Melania, and son, were vaccinated in January in secret. Trump did not tell the public that he had gotten vaccinated until a couple months later. The orange one did not, and does not want to, alienate his voting base that does not want vaccinated. Will King Donnie roll up his sleeve on television for the booster shot? Don't hold your breath. In the UK, University of Birmingham and Keele University have discovered that fenofibrate substantially reduces COVID-19 infections in human cells in the laboratory. Fenofibrate is a FDA-approved drug in 1975 and is safe for long term use. It is also cheap. The good news on coronavirus treatments and therapies keeps expanding. Maybe the vaccine will be unnecessary in the months ahead? The world is recovering from China Flu and remains widely unvaccinated. Southeast Asia, South America and Africa beat back the pandemic using treatments and therapies such as hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, antibiotics, steroids and vitamins.
