VIX Volatility Daily Chart Battle for the 200-Day MA Determining Market Direction

There is a big fight at the VIX 200-day MA a critical short-term market signal. The 200-day MA is 18.57. Bulls win big if the VIX stays under 18.57. Bears win big if the VIX moves above 18.57. Who will win?

The red bar is at 19.37 this is the level identified by the Keybot the Quant algorithm. If VIX moves above 19.37, the stock market is toast and tumbling lower with sustainable downside. According to the algo, bulls are okay and will generally not worry too much about any market selling as long as the VIX remains under 19.37. This information is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Note Added 10:16 AM EST:  VIX is printing 18.55. Here we go; decision time. Bull and bear stand up and be counted; one of you is going to be very happy and the other very sad as the minutes and hours play out. VIX 18.52......... 18.53 ..... the tension mounts .......a critical decision is being made which will commit stocks in an up or down direction....... 18.51 .... the bulls are holding the line. Note that the SPX is holding the line at the uber strong 1985-1988 support as previously explained. If 1985 fails, the VIX will shoot higher and the bears will pop the champagne corks. Bulls must hold SPX 1985 with all their might.

Note Added 10:19 AM EST: VIX 18.54. SPX 1985.09. Global traders are on the edge of their seats waiting for this major decision. Who will win?

Note Added 5:14 PM EST Thursday, 3/10/16, evening: The VIX is oscillating above and below the 200-day MA at 18.62 for the last three days not yet making the firm commitment up or down. It will. For now, the VIX is at 18.05 giving the market bulls the nod.

Note Added Saturday Morning, 3/12/16: The market bulls win the battle this week with the VIX dropping to 16.50. Bears got nothing unless they push the VIX back above the 200-day MA now at 18.63.
