The Botswana/South Africa B11529 Omicron variant is the
flavor du jour since Thanksgiving Day weekend. The omicron panic and hysteria
hit 11/26/21 in the United States as omicron cases spread like wildfire from
the Gauteng region of South Africa that includes the cities of Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Omicron then spread to Eswanti, Lesotho, Zimbabwe (which
likely played a role in the conception of B11529 along with Botswana),
Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi and northward, as well as Namibia and Angola on the
southwestern coast. The majority of Africa is in good shape now.
Omicron is smacking Israel, UK, Ireland, Iceland, western
Europe (France, Italy, Malta, Spain, Portugal), Canada and the United States.
In Europe, omicron now sweeps eastward through Belgium, Netherlands, Germany,
Austria, etc…
The Delta variant washed over Europe east to west from
Russia to Portugal. Western Europe got hit with the double-whammy of delta and
omicron and now the omicron trouble moves eastward across the continent looking
for new hosts.
Russia took the longest time to get over the hump of
infections that lingered at record levels for many months this year. Dirtbag
Dictator Putin should be concerned because omicron is moving eastward towards
him and if the Ruskies are hit with an omicron spike, it may be catastrophic
for the country. Vlad has over 100K troops at the Ukraine border threatening
invasion but does not realize there is an invisible omicron enemy likely coming
directly at him and his troops.
South America is on the omicron chopping block in real-time
with the cases accelerating higher but perhaps trying to peak-out in several
countries. Bolivia has been bludgeoned but may have peaked on Saturday. Brazil
is in trouble. Central America is also under siege from omicron.
Asia has been in relatively good shape except for South
Korea, Laos and Vietnam but their situations are slowly resolving. Philippines,
however, is covid Hell on Earth. Ditto India that is now in its upward
parabolic phase.
The daily cases charts for the countries and regions
discussed above can be used to gauge the progress of the Omicron variant around
the world. B11529 is moving far faster than the forecasters predicted. The
speed at which it envelopes the world is impressive. Omicron is only 7 or 8
weeks along since discovered at the Botswana/South Africa border in November
and now the entire world knows its Name.
The South Africa daily new cases chart is shown above. The
path in cases is straight up (parabolic) for 2 weeks then straight down for 2
or 3 weeks a fast-moving skinny inverted (upside-down) V pattern. The CDC calls
it an ‘ice pick’ pattern which is apropos. Hopefully, the pattern plays out for
all other nations as omicron travels around the world like wildfire.
Africa is in decent shape with omicron finished (daily cases
chart-wise) or on the downside in Eswatini, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola,
Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and others. The WHO keeps touting
vaccinations for Africa but humorously, the continent is in the best shape of
all the other continents (excluding Antarctica). The same ice pick chart
pattern is occurring in these nations for daily cases as shown for South
Africa.
The UK’s daily cases chart is shown above. The UK reports
121K daily new cases for yesterday, Tuesday, 1/11/22, an elevated number but
well under the 218K peak one week earlier. The week-on-week comparison is good
news and further verifies that the top is in for UK daily cases.
The UK active cases chart, however, that represents the
stress on the healthcare system, continues higher (not shown; but you can checkit out on Worldometer). The UK active cases chart should flatten and roll over
in 2 or 3 weeks forming the coveted bell shape and verifying that the
healthcare workers will receive a much-needed break. Ireland remains in bad
shape but may have peaked with cases on Saturday following the UK pattern.
Israel’s daily cases chart is shown above. What a shame.
Shooting 3 and 4 jabs of serum into nearly the whole Jewish population results
in exponential growth in infections. Oh well, what are you going to do? It must
be the nature of omicron. Israel reports 31.5K daily new cases yesterday the
most ever.
Israel provides some of the best COVID-19 data and analysis
of any nation on earth but a lot of good it did them. The positive side is that
the cases are probably following the standard ice pick formation so perhaps the
31.5K cases will be the peak. For now, cases remain in the upside parabolic
phase. Fortunately, Israeli deaths from COVID-19 are nil.
Austria’s daily cases chart is shown above. Romania is the
same chart. The Delta variant wave washed across Europe from Russia to Portugal
and now the Omicron variant wave washes back moving west to east. France,
Italy, Malta, Spain and Portugal are likely on the downside of the inverted V
pattern for daily cases but the trouble moves east into Central Europe.
Belgium, Netherlands and Germany are in trouble. Omicron
will likely next hit Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and so forth. Russia
should be very concerned about the omicron wave coming at them probably only 2 or
3 weeks away. Covid Vlad is hiding under the gold-plate juke box in the
basement of one of his palaces.
Austria reports 11.5K daily new cases yesterday the highest
for the current omicron wave so it remains in the parabolic up phase. Note the
prior delta wave on the chart. Belgium and Netherlands are blowing up above the
delta highs but the jury is out if this will occur in other European nations.
The Netherlands was hit with the two airline flights of
South African passengers that likely create the highly elevated cases there and
in Belgium. Central and Eastern Europe, and Western Asia and Russia, need to
brace for the coming omicron storm.
India has escaped the omicron infection, until now. India
reports 195K daily new cases yesterday the most for the current omicron wave
now in its parabolic phase as shown by the chart above. India PM Modi needs to declare all hands on
deck immediately, dropping everything and focusing on the coming omicron wave,
and telling the nation to brace for big trouble. India is a fantastic nation. Keystone
loves India but always has to spend a couple hours sitting on the toilet after
eating the food.
The Philippines daily cases chart is shown above. Asia will
likely be the next general target area for the omicron monster as it searches
out new hosts. The Philippines descends into covid Hell reporting over 33K
daily new cases on Monday the highest ever. Deaths are elevated as well.
Philippines is a poor nation and with all the floods and
monsoons, earthquakes, and COVID-19, now the omicron variant, they are getting
more than their fair share of misery. Indonesia and Malaysia are going to have
to keep their guard up because omicron will likely drift south infecting these
island nations. Also, Papua New Guinea. Keystone has fond memories of the beautiful
blue Birds of Paradise in the Tari Basin. Thailand daily cases are rising which
will be another hit to their battered tourism industry.
China’s daily cases chart is shown above. It has been a long
time since China’s charts are posted; since the start of the pandemic because after
that the cases are nil. The communist nation is pursuing the zero-covid
strategy perhaps to their detriment? The rest of the world has suffered the
ravages of the China Flu for 2 years and have both vaccination immunities and
natural immunities in play.
Not China. The Chinese folks are vaccinated but their
vaccines are garbage like Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine. Junk. China’s daily cases
are averaging 161 infections per day but the CCP lies about the data. Who knows
the true number? Maybe 2 to 5 times higher than that, or more? The CCP are
filthy lying communists so you cannot trust anything they say.
The Chinese people have no choice but to obey and over 20
million are in a draconian lockdown currently. It is the same as jail. COVID-19,
spawned at the Wuhan Laboratories in China, set out to see the world creating
misery, sickness and death everywhere it went. Now the pathogen has grown-up,
it has matured into omicron, and is coming home to say hello to its birthplace.
China, you bad boys, whatchu gonna do? Whatchu gonna do when we come for you,bad boys? The whole world will be coming for reparations from the filthy CCP
once the pandemic subsides.
Canada’s daily cases chart is shown above and the Canucks
are a mess. Over 55K cases occur on Monday the highest ever. Cases retreat to
29K for Tuesday but it is questionable if the peak is in. Instead of the
characteristic sharp rise, then fall, Canada jumps higher and languishes at the
elevated case numbers. The United States may behave similarly if the different
peaks for the individual states are spread out over a few days or week or two.
Note how the 7-day MA smoothing line rolls over to the
downside for Canada, a great development hinting at a top, but the last tick is
higher again, so it is in more of a sideways funk (blue arrow). Canada, like
Israel, forces draconian rules down people’s throats while mandating
vaccinations, and all that authoritarian and tyrannical behavior results in the
highest cases ever.
Argentina’s daily cases chart is shown above. Argentina
reports over 134K daily new cases a new record. Don’t Cry For Me Argentina. Brazil’s
cases are starting to take off but other South American nations are farther
along with the omicron waves. Bolivia may be peaking now. By the time anyone
notices the trouble in South America, omicron may already be on the downside.
Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru and Chile are all getting smacked around by
omicron.
Digesting all that drama above, it is no surprise to see the
world’s daily new cases chart, shown above, eking out a new record high at 2.8
million cases per day. With 7.67 billion fools on earth, present company
included, that is 0.04% or in other words, 1 in every 2,729 people on earth are
infected with omicron daily (2.81/7670=0.0004 times 100 to make it a percent is
0.04%; hit the 1/x inverse key for 0.0004 and that gives you the 1 in every
2,729 people; call it 1 in every 3000 people on the planet each day are
infected with omicron).
The world’s daily deaths chart is shown above with 8,260
souls croaking yesterday. The undertaker’s dance in the moonlight. The 7-day MA
trendline for world deaths is at 6.5K deaths per day not good because it is
ramping higher. Only a few days ago, the planet was at 5.8K deaths per day and
dropping, the lowest since October 2020, but alas, omicron raises its ugly face.
Thankfully, the deaths are nothing like the devastating carnage in January 2021
one year ago and in fact deaths are trending generally lower over the last
year.
The United States daily new cases chart is shown above. The
peak is last Friday, 1/7/22, at 873K daily new cases. The Friday data is typically
the highest cases of the week and it also provides a week-on-week comparison to
the 873K potential top. It’s all riding on Friday’s cases numbers which will be
known early Saturday morning.
Since the peak on Friday, the following days are; 810K
cases, 732K, 692K, and 673K daily new cases yesterday. The downtrend needs to
continue. It is encouraging that Tuesday’s cases are lower than Monday’s
because a higher spike above the 692K would have been expected. The best thing
about omicron is its speed. The faster it moves through the available hosts,
the faster it will be gone. The 7-day MA trend line for US daily cases remains
parabolic so it is key to see that reverse course.
The inverted V pattern, the ice pick, should form for US
daily cases, as shown by the dark blue line. If the overall US chart needs time
to roll over because there are many states that will be peaking at different
times in the coming days, like Canada’s daily cases, there may be some flatness
in the topping process shown by the light blue pattern. The US is in the middle
of the omicron storm now but there should be brighter skies ahead in a few days
or week or two.
Television pundits and Whitehouse and CDC surrogates
proclaim 1.4 million daily new cases per day in the United States. They said
over 1 million cases for a day about a week ago and that was revised below 1
million so a revision is likely coming for the 1.4 million. If it is a
harbinger, the US is headed for an ugly week ahead. The Worldometer daily new
cases, however, have not gone over 1 million as yet. The 873K cases is the peak
thus far.
The CDC has lost a lot of credibility and their charts and
data are typically lagging by a few days. It will be interesting to see if
Worldometer, Johns-Hopkins and other sources start reporting US cases jumping
above 1 million to match the CDC, or, if the other sources do not and instead
the CDC cases drop sharply lower from the wild 1.4 million cases number that is
perhaps an aberration. Who knew data and charts could provide such excitement, mystery
and drama?
The US active cases chart is shown above and the peak of
2/5/22, or sooner is forecasted by the Keystone Model. The top in daily cases is 1/7/22, but the
model uses 1/8/22 for the calculation. Add 28 days gives 2/5/22 for the top in
active cases which represents the maximum strain on the medical folks.
This wave 6, the omicron and waning vaccine efficacy wave, is
different than all prior waves because of its ruthless speed. It is a safe bet
that the US active cases will peak-out before 2/5/22. US healthcare workers
need to hang in there for a couple more weeks because a euphoric improvement
will be granted by the chart in short order. Help Is On The Way.
The United States needs to get through the next couple
months and then the Pfizer oral pill Paxlovid should be more widely available
as well as the GlaxoSmithKline monoclonal antibody treatments that work against
omicron. That will be a happy day saying goodbye to the pandemic but hello to
the endemic which will only become a minor nuisance over time.
The US deaths chart is shown above. Bring out your dead.Bring out your dead. The 7-day MA average is ramping higher at 1.7K deaths per
day. Bummer. The 6-week trend is up. There are 24 hours in a day. There are 60
minutes in an hour. There are 1,440 minutes in a day. THERE IS 1 AMERICAN DYING
PER MINUTE FROM COVID-19 EVERY DAY. The Grim Reaper raises his scythe with glee,
the razor-sharp blade glistening in the moonlight.
Sleepy Joe Biden never provided adequate Regeneron and Eli
Lilly monoclonal antibody treatments to the states this year likely resulting
in a couple hundred thousand deaths. This counterfactual cannot be proven just
like the claims that a couple hundred thousand people or more would have been
saved since the vaccinations were available to everyone the last half year and
more.
Well, maybe all the dead folks were looking for mAb and
could not find any so they became sicker, and then ended up at the hospital with
a vent down their throat receiving Last Rights. In their last gasp for breath,
no, the patient did not say, “Oh Lord I wish I had gotten vaccinated,” nope,
instead the patient says, “I wish the doctors would have given me EARLY
TREATMENT and provided monoclonal antibodies because I would have lived.” The
Whitehouse promoted the vaccine-only strategy a tragic failure.
The mAb treatments do not work so good on the Omicron
variant, just like the vaccines, but the GlaxoSmithKline mAb is effective. This
is great news but Biden was sleeping and forgot to order a boatload. Same with
the Pfizer Paxlovid pills. Joe was going to order more but he got sleepy after
his 3PM EST dinner and decided to retire to bed one hour earlier than normal at
4 PM EST.
The New York State daily cases chart is shown above with the
huge omicron wave in play. New York cases top at 87K cases per day on 1/6/22
but the data needs to play out through Friday to give this top street cred. The
7-day MA trend line slopes higher; it needs to roll over which will indicate
good things ahead.
The New York State daily deaths chart is shown. Is Governor
Cuomo back on the job because the bodies are stacking up? 293 New Yorker’s die
from China Flu yesterday the most since May 2020!! Where’s Governor Hochul?
Bueller? Hochul? They’re dropping like flies in New York. Maybe some of the toe
tags attended former Mayor de Blasio’s New Year’s Eve superspreader event?
The Pennsylvania daily cases chart is shown above and takes
on the omicron wave’s more characteristic inverted V pattern; the ice pick.
Many states are showing the same set-up with the individual cases reporting
lower numbers the last 2 to 4 days, however, the jury is out until the Friday
numbers are released. Pennsylvania cases drop to 22K yesterday, 1/11/22. Generally,
it looks like many states may have topped on Friday but again, let the data
confirm this forecast over the next 3 days.
Pennsylvania reports 33.7K daily new cases on 1/8/22 the
peak, for now. It is key to see the 7-day MA trend lines reverse course and
once you get 4 and more lower individual days, that will pull the moving
average line down. Well look at that. You would need a magnifying glass to see
it but the 7-day MA is a hair lower from Monday to Tuesday. That is something
to hang your hat on in the Keystone State. The chart turns happy when that blue
7-day MA trend line starts dropping.
The interest in booster shots is falling. Can you blame
folks? The vaccines do not perform as promised one year ago and one of the
latest studies show that three shots of mRNA (the 2 initial jabs and a booster)
only provide about 10% protection against the Omicron variant. That’s laughable
(as the peanut gallery yells out that you will not die). Well, we all gotta die
sometime. If you spend your time worrying about dying, you forget about living.
The US vaccination rate, as per the CDC, is dropping faster
than President Biden’s approval ratings. The trend line is a cliff dive since
the early December peak of 1.8 million shots in arms per day. The vax rate is
now at 861K per day but that is based on data through last Thursday (it is
likely lower). Americans are sick of listening to the one-trick pony
vaccination-only strategy. Folks are scratching their heads thinking there has
to be a better way. EARLY TREATMENT is the key to treating covid.
The US hospital data receives a lot of attention. Hospitaladmissions are at all-time highs. Children under 5 years old are not eligible
for vaccination and, since the vaccinated parents can act as virus carriers, they
infect their kids and some, especially obese kids, end up in the hospital. The
parents, however, are quick to blame
those b*stard unvaccinated lepers sickening their child. Maybe it is the
parent’s jet-set life that they worship and desire that sickened their child?
Hospitals continue sending out PSA’s informing the public
not to come to the emergency room unless sick. Biden’s bungling with mandating
vaccines and schools and universities requiring tests has created a testing
debacle ongoing since before Christmas!!
People are showing up at hospitals desperate for covid tests
to get their children in school or to meet a stupid work requirement. The
predicament creates stress on the hospitals and overworked healthcare workers.
It is a blooming mess. Where’s Biden? He is eating chocolate pudding in the
Whitehouse kitchen with the maid and butler.
US hospitalizations are at all-time highs since admissions
hit record highs. The terrible wave 3 one year ago had over 125K Americans
lying on gurneys and the numbers over the last couple days sneak higher to new
all-time record highs above 125K hospitalizations. The prior record high in
hospitalizations during wave 3 occurs one year ago at this same exact time.
Using the dropdown menu, Michigan is poking out new record
high hospitalizations. Ditto New York and New Jersey with hospitalizations
launching into the stratosphere. Hospitalizations lag daily new cases (which
have hopefully topped-out). Deaths lag hospitalizations.
Speaking of Biden blunders, 50 million COVID-19 test kits
are discovered in a warehouse. Get them out to people. There are folks standing
in lines in the cold weather for hours on end and the Whitehouse and CDC are so
incompetent they cannot handle an easy inventory task. The covid house needs
cleaned-out. New people are needed to manage the pandemic mess.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 63.4 million. India is next with 36.3 million total virus cases.
Brazil, UK, France, Russia, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Spain, Argentina and Iran round
out the top dozen on the ugly list. France worsens leapfrogging Russia. Italy
worsens leaping over both Spain and Germany. Argentina worsens leapfrogging
Iran.
COVID-19 has infected 315.8 million people worldwide. 5.5 million
people are dead from the China Flu. 262.5 million global citizens have
recovered from China Flu. 83% (262.5/315.8) of the people that become infected
with COVID-19 recover in a reasonable time frame. This percentage has been at
90% to 92% for many months, until the last 3 weeks and it is concerning.
10 days ago, the percentage fell to 86% and now down to 83%
completely falling out of bed. What is going on? It tells you that people are
not recovering as fast from COVID-19 as one year ago. The recovery percentage
is worsening despite all the vaccines available around the world. About 17% of
the people that contract coronavirus have lingering health effects such as
long-covid or die.
Worldwide, 1.7% (5.5/315.8) of the people that are infected
with covid die; 1 in 57. This number sat at 2.1%-2.2% for many months but
trends lower for the last 3 months to 1.7%. It would not budge and now it is on
the move lower. The vaccinations and natural immunities are helping to lower the
world’s death rate albeit by small increments. If people are not dying as much
and taking longer to recover, if they recover, it hints that long-covid cases
may be increasing.
4.1% (315.8/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 24 people on earth. 0.07%
of the world’s population (5.5/7670) died from the pandemic; 1 in every 1,395
people.
In the United States, 63.4 million people are infected with covid.
864K Americans are dead. 42.6 million Americans have recovered from coronavirus.
This equates to 67% (42.6/63.4) of US citizens recovering after becoming
infected with COVID-19. The recovery percentage has been between 76% and 84% over
the last few months and slipped to 74% and now down to 67%. What is going on?
The recovery percentage is also dropping for the world. Vaccines have not
improved the recovery percentage.
America’s rampant obesity problem has greatly added to
deaths, hospitalizations and long-covid problems. If you are overweight or obese,
and unvaccinated, call your doctor.
In the US, 1.3% (864/63400) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. This number was sticky at 1.6% to 1.8% for many months and dipped to 1.5%
and now down to 1.3%. 1 in every 79 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus
die. 0.26% (864/330000) of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in
every 390 Americans.
19.2% (63.4/330) of the American population of 330 million
people, call it 19%, have been infected with covid; 1 in every 5 Americans. The
minority communities are impacted disproportionately. The 19% that now have
natural immunities solidly contribute towards developing herd immunity. The numbers for natural immunity are likely
far higher than reported. Many Americans had covid at home and never saw a
doctor or reported the illness and they have some level of antibody protection.
The United States has 20% (63.4/315.8) of the COVID-19 cases
in the world. 1 in 5 people that become infected with covid on planet earth are
Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago, but not so
much in recent weeks and months. This percentage was 22% about 11 months ago so
it is flatlining.
The US accounts for 15.7% (864/5500) of the China Flu deaths
in the world. 1 in 6.4 people (2 in 13) that die from COVID-19 around the world
are Americans. 7 months ago, it was 1 in 5. The numbers are stalled at the same
level for the last 7 months.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active cases
chart curves will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases chart is
the ‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and strain on
the medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases chart rolls
over forming the bell shape, the virus is being defeated and healthcare workers
can breathe easier.
The Keystone Model uses the peak in the daily new cases to
forecast the peak and flattening of the active cases curve. The ‘flattening of
the curve’ only pertains to the active cases chart. For communist nations where
the populations must do what they are told or they receive a bullet in their
heads (China), and for smaller authoritarian nations (Eastern European
countries, Africa and Middle East nations), and many Asian nations where
citizens follow government rules without questioning authority (South Korea,
Japan, Singapore, Australia), the active cases curve will peak, on average, 11
days after the peak in daily new cases.
For the Western countries, such as the US and European
nations, the so-called free societies, the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 28 days after the peak in new cases. It takes about 2 weeks longer for
a free society to tamp down a virus wave than a communist or authoritarian
state because lockdowns are not strictly enforced.
All projections below for countries and the US states
continue to use the 11 and 28-day periods for forecasting for consistency. When
the peak in daily new cases occurs, if a subsequent day is within 8% of that
peak top, it is identified as the peak in daily new cases day.
The peak in the daily new cases is easily seen on the bar
charts provided by Worldometer, the CDC and Johns-Hopkins. The daily new cases
bar charts are shown on television news channels with a 7-day moving average
(MA) line which is a smoothing mechanism that identifies the trend.
An update for The Keystone Model is provided since another
10-day period passes and more data and information become available to push the
Wuhan Flu story forward. The Coronavirus Chronology identifies the real-time

The countries with rising active cases charts are
highlighted below with the worst nations at the bottom. The peaks in daily new
cases are shown and the projected peaks for active cases are based on the
Keystone Model. The peak and flattening of the active cases curves are
extremely important since it represents the maximum stress on healthcare
workers and the medical systems.

There is good and bad in the list above; a yin and yang for COVID-19. On the good side, 14 countries were taken off the bad list including Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Uganda, Namibia, Angola, Greece, Malta, South Korea, Vietnam and Laos as their active cases curves have started to roll over. Africa, the original continent of omicron, is greatly improved and in good shape.
On the negative side, 11 countries were added to the bad
list including India, Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Japan, Philippines,
Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Romania. There are many others that
can be added but these provide a flavor for the hot spots around the world. South
America is on fire right now. Also, Central America.
In Europe, the omicron infection wave moves west to east
heading towards Ukraine and Russia. France and Italy remain in deep trouble but
the peak in daily cases should be at hand. India is going to probably keep the
overall world case numbers buoyant for a few days ahead. Turkey turned ugly
fast. The Nordic states remain in trouble including Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Finland struggles.
The speed at which omicron is moving around the world and
even within the United States is astounding. Makes you wonder how China even
has a chance. China could be on the bad list above but the numbers are so small
we will see how it goes over the coming week. China may turn out to be the wild
and crazy story to begin 2022. Will the Olympics be cancelled?
The next list shows the US states that are struggling, which
is all 50 of them, with the worst states at the bottom. Omicron may be peaking
in many states.
The peak in daily new cases and projections for the peaks in
active cases are provided as per the Keystone Model. The flattening and roll
over of the active cases curve forming the bell shape indicates the virus is
being defeated and the caseload on healthcare workers will quickly improve.
January remains a busy month for the doctors, nurses and medics but February
will be the reward.

Ohio is in a funk
with sustained elevated cases. Texas is hit with infections within the state
and from the southern border. Central America and Mexico is under siege from
omicron so infections move north into the southern US states.
A collection of
states at the bottom of the bad list are in the Midwest but the entire list is
haphazard with some states a few days ahead of the others in peaking. The
northeastern states are shaping-up. Watch the states at the top of the list to
see if they continue down a good path, or not, because they will pave the way for
the others.
King Donnie Trump
shows his orange head in an interview with NPR, which is surprising since it is
liberal media. Trump says politicians that do not disclose if they took the
vaccine are “gutless.” He calls himself gutless because he was jabbed last
January but hid it from the public for 2 months. Typical Trump baby games.
Former President Donnie
decrees that there are “absolutely no side effects” with the vaccines. Trump
sounds like Sotomayor; uneducated. Trump lost his gravitas. Once you are out of
office, people move on. The orange head needs to do some homework before he
speaks.
Consumer Price
Inflation (CPI) jumps 7% on an annual basis which is record-setting. Prices on
US goods and services have not risen this fast since 1982. Oil, energy and gasoline
prices are up big driving prices of all goods and services higher. It is
another Biden bungle. He touts the climate change stuff while screwing the
reliable energy sources so prices skyrocket. Sleepy Joe Biden is the modern-day
Herbert Hoover. History rhymes.
US store shelves are
thin. Americans are calling Joe, "Bare Shelves Biden." People ask, “When did we become a third world country?” Building supplies
remain in high demand for the last year. Homebuilders are hoarding windows and
garage doors are as rare as hen’s teeth. New homes have to board-up the garage
entrances or window openings so people can move in and then come back later to
install the windows and doors when they arrive. Special permits are required.
New home prices
climb higher with rising material and labor costs but at some point, this
relationship will buckle. The country is a living breathing mess.
The pandemic gets
nuttier each day. There are lawsuits in the courts where divorced parents are
fighting over whether their child gets vaccinated. Adult babies fighting over
their baby. People go to crazy town during pandemics and instead they should be
going to Party Town.
United Airlines
loses 3K workers to COVID-19. Hey airline *ssholes, how do you like the vaccine
mandates now? You got rid of great employees over a stupid little shot and now
moan about staffing shortages daily. Screw all the airlines.
Chicago Mayor
Lightfoot, at the center of the Chicago teacher battle, tests positive for
covid. Ditto West Virginia Governor Jim Justice. Good luck to the overweight
and older dude. Justice says, “I feel extremely unwell.” Lightfoot and Justice
are both triple vaccinated; a lot of good it did them (but the peanut gallery
yells that they will not die; from your mouth to God’s ears).
The CDC opines that
most Americans will end up exposed to omicron. Pause for laughter. After all
the drama through the holidays, it is now time to throw up your arms and say oh
well, better luck next time.
CDC Director
Walensky says changes to the mask guidelines remains under discussion. Dr
Walensky proclaims, “Any mask is better than no mask.” All the talk about N95
masks the last few days are for nothing. Doctors say cloth masks are nothing
more than mouth decorations against omicron but that is what people will wear.
Comically, people
are walking around in masks that have not been washed in a year. It is funny and it is real life. The mask
studies indicate that the mouth diapers probably do not do a lot to slow the
spread but some folks probably feel more secure wearing a mask during a
pandemic.
Walensky probably
does not change the mask guidance because poor folks do not have the money to
buy masks and the Whitehouse does not want to spend taxpayer money to pay for
them. The poor always get the short end of the stick.
The CDC director is in
a similar predicament with the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’. Expanding the
definition to 3 shots creates a nightmare with all the ongoing vaccine mandate
garbage. And once 3 shots are deemed ‘fully vaccinated’, another booster will
automatically make 4 shots fully vaccinated. What a mess.
There are already people
vaccinated with 3 or 4 shots of mRNA serum while others do not have the first
shot. Some nations in Europe, although they are implementing draconian vaccine
passports, do honor natural immunity. Maybe Dr Walensky can redeem herself and
the CDC if new guidelines would acknowledge the role of natural immunity in
fighting the pandemic.
Walensky made the
mistake of driving down the political road with Fauci and Collins in the front seat and
Biden, the Whitehouse, NIH, CNN and MSNBC in the back seat. She should keep the CDC at arm’s length
from the Whitehouse, media and other medical organizations instead of lying in bed with them. It is group think. The CDC should provide guidance based on
real-time charts and data and too bad if the news is not good. Life’s a b*tch,
then you die. Let the Whitehouse take care of the political stuff.
People complain
about the pandemic because they do not want to give up their jet-set lives.
Both spouses need to work to pay for the McMansion so they need life to return
to the way it was before the pandemic, and will throw a tantrum until it does. Don’t
feel bad for any of these jackasses. When you become over extended financially,
you limit your options, and become one of these people.

The Remdesivir drug
that hospitals use to treat COVID-19 patients is ineffective or of scant
benefit. Nurse Goodbody quips that when a doctor or nurse asks for Remdesivir, they call it, "Rem-Death-is-Near.”
Note Added Thursday Morning, 1/13/22, at 4:00 AM EST: 318 MILLION EARTHLINGS HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH CHINA FLU AND 5.53 MILLION ARE DEAD. 64 MILLION AMERICANS HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH COVID-19 AND 867K ARE DEAD. There is bad news for the world that reports 3.2 million daily new cases (see the world's daily new cases chart above now blowing up though 3 million infections). France is easing travel restriction on UK travelers that are fully vaccinated. French and Italian covid deaths are at 8-month highs.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 1/13/22, at 4:30 AM EST: The US reports 829K daily new cases an elevated number teasing back towards the peak high at 891K on 1/7/22. It is a nail-biter. Today's case numbers and especially tomorrow's (Friday) are needed to see if the 1/7/22 peak holds for the omicron wave 6. It is not looking good considering the robust 829K infections yesterday. This Friday, 1/14/22, may serve as the peak for the US instead of 1/7/22 but that will not be known until Saturday morning. US deaths average 1.8K souls per day and climbing higher. Biden did not provide adequate supplies of COVID-19 treatments and therapies due to his vaccine-only strategy so the older folks that were vaccinated first early last year, are now getting sick and the treatments they need are in thin supply, so they die. Where's Sleepy Joe? He's in the Rose Garden looking for his hat. In an interview yesterday, Lord Fauci decrees, "Omicron, with its extraordinary, unprecedented degree of efficiency of transmissibility, will, ultimately, find just about everybody. Some, maybe a lot of them, will get infected but will very likely, with some exceptions, do reasonably well in the sense of not having hospitalization and death." Note Added Thursday Morning, 1/13/22, at 5:30 AM EST: On the positive side, New York reports 60K daily cases so the lower numbers off the 1/6/22 peak top are holding. New York deaths are buoyant, however, so old folks in nursing homes are probably croaking. New Jersey cases keep coming off the peak top on 1/7/22 more encouraging news. Boom. Texas reports over 72K daily new cases a big spike higher. California cases remain over 100K per day for the last 7 days running. California's health system says the omicron cases are resulting in less deaths, less need for the ICU and less deaths than delta and other prior outbreaks. Florida's daily cases remain at elevated levels. Biden sends more military teams to different locations around the US such as Ohio. West Virginia Governor Justice, that is infected with covid, is reported to be "not doing well." US hospitals continue complaining about staff shortages and burn-out. It is a disservice to label unvaccinated people as anti-vaxxer's which is just another lie to berate people into taking the jab; the beasts want you to take the mark without resistance. Note Added Thursday Morning, 1/13/22, at 7:00 AM EST: CDC Director Walensky comments on the rising death rate in America now at 1.8K dead bodies per day. Walensky says the rise in deaths are still delta deaths. Where does she get this dribble? She is supposed to know what is going on. That is a stupid comment. Clearly, US wave 5 was the delta wave and the daily cases, active cases, hospitalizations and deaths are all clearly visible on the charts completely separated from US wave 6 which is the omicron and waning vaccine efficacy wave. The latter item is why the CDC is looking for other excuses for the rising death count. US seniors were first to be vaccinated early last year and those shots are not doing butpkis at this point (if not boosted). Older Americans are getting sick with omicron, as well as some still with delta, but the main reason for the rise in deaths is waning vaccine efficacy. Open your eyes. On top of this ongoing confusion, the CDC and others say the hospitalization and death numbers are out of whack since most people dying have multiple health issues. The CDC provides guidance saying 62K Americans will die over the next 4 weeks or 2,624 per day (the math actually works out to 2.2K deaths per day but do not worry, the CDC is only charged with keeping track of the numbers and providing accurate calculations). Note Added Thursday Morning, 1/13/22, at 10:30 AM EST: President Biden meets with the COVID-19 task force and provides an update. Sleepy Joe says vaccines are not the only way to prevent covid. Huh? Biden proclaims, "Masking, masking, masking. Please wear a mask, it's part of your patriotic duty." This dude seems lost. If masks are key, then why hasn't the CDC updated their mask guidance? Walensky says wearing a N95 mask all day long is challenging. Biden wants to distribute a mask to all Americans for free which means he is spending more taxpayer money. He should give them to the poor; others can buy their own masks. Biden next touts covid testing kits spinning yarns that he is doing great with testing. You wonder if he believes what he is saying of if he is not all there and simply reading the teleprompter? It is not something funny. Joe seems clueless and confused; a tired old man. He says a website to order tests will be available next week. Start laughing now because this will either be delayed or if it is launched, may turn into another Biden debacle. Everything he touches turns to sh*t. He keeps making promises that are never born out; it destroys his credibility. All he had to do was handle the pandemic and that is the thing he did not do. He sounds bored as he reads the same old talking points; you would think he had them memorized by now. Biden says he ordered 500 million more tests in addition to the first 500 million "that's 1 billion tests." Joe likes to go for soundbites and photo-ops. In reality, tests will start to roll out next week but the first 500 million will not be distributed completely for 60 days. The second 500 million test kits come after that. In other words, Biden lied at Christmastime that 500 million tests would be available in January. The reason his poll numbers are tanking is because he makes promises and sets dates for goals that are routinely missed. Credibility is crushed. He promised no vaccine mandates until he implemented vaccine mandates. He promised to fix the pandemic and instead it is the biggest mess yet. Inflation is spinning out of control because of his ignorant energy policy and over generous stimulus. He promised to manage from the middle, a moderate, instead Biden is a left wing radical. On top of all that, he may have Alzheimer's. The worst part of his speech is his plea to social media to censor speech. Does he realize he is supposed to be leading the Free World? Quick, feed him some more Gingko Biloba. Ask him if he knows where he is at. Ask him who is president. Who decides what his misinformation and disinformation? Of course, the political party in charge. After he is done speaking and turns the meeting over to others, there is an awkward one minute of journalists shouting questions and Biden sitting there looking like a confused old man. God Bless Him. The country is going to be more concerned that he can go the distance (3 more years). Speaking of polls, a Quinnipiac poll takes another dip down to only 33% approval for Biden the lowest of nearly any president in history. 53% of the country disapprove of his job performance which means another 14% are also unhappy they just do not want to come out and say it. If 67% of the country is unhappy and this is maintained for a few months, democrats will get smoked in the November election. When asked who they trust for COVID-19 information in a different poll, 61% said their doctor which makes sense. Only 16% of Americans trust what Biden says which is easy to believe since he spouts stupid promises and dates that never come true. That 16% is astounding. Biden is the butt of jokes at this point. 31% of the country trust Fauci. It is surprising that Fauci's number is that high and comical that it is better than Biden's. Even funnier, is Vice President Harris's popularity is worse than Biden's. All the two had to do was handle the pandemic instead they have created a country of chaos and confusion. The CDC website, however, lists 128K for 1/11/22 as the last entry. Obviously, the CDC, lying in bed with liberal networks, feeds the information to these media outlets. They are told that 1/12/22 is 151K hospitalizations but the public is not informed of this unless they tune-in to democrat-run media. This is no way to run a pandemic.

Perhaps Americans are slowly starting to get their heads screwed-on straight. A student that has had a documented case of COVID-19 within the last 90 days is good to go and does not have to be vaccinated. Fauci, Walensky, the Whitehouse and the whole Hee-Haw gang needs to recognize natural immunity. If they did, Biden could at least stabilize his sinking popularity in the polls. Americans know that both vaccination immunity and natural immunity matter and are important and both should be respected. When medical officials then tell people that no, you are stupid, shut your mouth, kneel, and get vaccinated; it is your only choice. At that point, millions of people are lost and will never come around to the thinking of so-called experts that do not follow the science they proclaim.
Note Added Thursday Afternoon, 1/13/22, at 3:30 PM EST: Boom. Here is the big Supreme Court ruling about vaccine mandates coming down from On High. SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) blocks President Biden's unconstitutional OSHA vaccine-or-test mandate but not for the healthcare facilities taking government funding such as Medicare and Medicaid. The first ruling is 6-3 the six conservative (republican) justices voting against the OSHA requirements while the three liberal (democrat) justices voting to maintain the vaccine mandate. Private businesses are euphoric anxious to get back to business as usual. The decision is split, however, with SCOTUS handing Biden a tiny vaccine mandate fig leaf to cover the healthcare workers. The focus on healthcare workers is more specific than the broad OSHA rules so the justices vote 5-4 allowing the mandate (2 conservatives justices Kavanaugh and Roberts join the 3 liberals). The conservative judges decree that getting vaccinations is not an occupational hazard (you can catch it anywhere). The justices also note that there are no healthcare companies or hospitals complaining about the vaccine mandate (which makes it easier to uphold; the healthcare facilities are all in agreement on screwing all doctors, nurses, medics and staff that do not want to be vaccinated). The vaccine mandate in the healthcare industry impacts about 76K hospitals and nursing homes, that's a lot, and about 17 million healthcare workers; about one-fifth of the 100 million workers (80 to 100 million) impacted by both the OSHA rules and the healthcare rules. Thus, about 1 in 5 unvaccinated healthcare workers must kneel at their boss's feet and take the jab, while about 4 out of 5 workers at other companies should be able to remain in their jobs or find employment even though they are not vaccinated. It is an interesting split decision. Hot-shot lawyer-types are quick to refer to the rulings as "splitting the baby." Any folks entering the healthcare industry such as caregivers or nurses must realize what they are signing up for ahead of time; you will agree to take vaccines, pills, whatever the boss demands, to work in the healthcare profession. If wiling to submit to this guideline, you have a great future as a nurse, if not, you should rethink your chosen direction. For hospitals, clinics and nursing homes, the US government is telling them that since they take the money dangling in front of their faces, they must also agree to allow the feds to tell the business to fire employees. Isn't that sick? Hollow humans relinquish liberty for money or power. When you take money from someone, you become subservient. The SCOTUS ruling dominates the news the entire evening. The airlines should rescind their draconian mandates against employees but time will tell. People do not like to be wrong especially on full display in public so some companies will probably be hard *sses and keep their silly little vaccine mandates in place. The nursing homes are screwed. They cannot get anyone to come in and clean bedpans for minimum wage and the vaccine mandate is a non-starter for many. These are simple folks, or teenagers, college kids, or a single Mom making extra money with a quick part-time job before the holidays. They are not looking for a career in turning sheets, or flipping burgers, or cleaning toilets. If jobs are a dime a dozen and pay the same or more, and you do not have to get vaccinated at one job verses another, the nursing homes do not have a chance. They cannot find workers and the favorable vax mandate ruling (in management's eyes) only seals the nursing homes fate. Stupid hospital and clinic managers celebrate the SCOTUS ruling and in the next breath ask Ned, the HR manager, why he cannot find anyone to work. Ned says he has hundreds he could hire, and they are wiling to wear masks and abide by any protocols, except they do not want vaccinated. Oh well, the beat goes on. A family will get the call that Uncle Charlie is dead, found face down on the dirty linoleum floor in Room 104 at the senior care facility. No one was around when he died a couple hours ago, but luckily, on the bright side, everyone at the facility is vaccinated, all four of them. The pandemic tears holes in the fabric of society. The mess around vaccine mandates may continue despite the SCOTUS ruling.

Their treatment protocols have helped thousands of people recover from covid. Their treatments prevent hospitalizations and deaths. It is a shame that President Biden is a one-trick vaccination pony. The two doctors have a book that is about to hit the street titled, "Overcoming the Covid Darkness; How Two Doctors Successfully Treated 7000 Patients." They discuss how EARLY TREATMENT centers set up in local communities is the best approach to treating COVID-19 now and in future pandemics. A variety of treatments and therapies are available that can be tailored to each individual's own personal health issues and fitness. EARLY TREATMENT is the key to successfully treating coronavirus and keeping people out of the hospital. The doctors have not lost any patients to COVID-19 a miraculous feat. They also encourage the potential use of existing drugs. Off-label use is common in the US. The doctors are proponents of HCQ, ivermectin, mAb, the new oral pills, steroids, anti-viral drugs and other treatments and therapies. Their methods are typically on an outpatient basis and can greatly reduce the strain on hospitals. One day does not change a trend but the globe rejoices that the daily cases are not higher than the prior day. India reports 264K daily new cases another higher high for the omicron wave remaining on the parabolic upside. Israel, land of vaccinations, explodes to a new record high daily cases at 59K. China's problems continues with daily cases steady at about 200 infections per day and a few cases appear in Shanghai. The Chinese are limiting US-China flights. The Olympics may become a mess. The drama Down Under with unvaccinated tennis star Djokovic continues. Australia revokes Djokovic's visa for the second time so he likely will not play in the tennis tournament. Djokovic is trying to stage a last appeal. The Aussie government felt it had no choice since it has locked the population down like caged animals over the last year and beat some folks that are to violate the draconian edicts. If an unvaccinated tennis player is given special treatment, the population may go nuts. The world is already nuts. Fellow tennis players in the tournament say they feel like fools because they followed the protocols and got vaccinated but unvaccinated Djokovic walks around like he owns the place. It's funny. Sure, it is an elevated number, but below the spike to 872K on hump day and the peak at 896K on 1/7/22 last Friday. Everything is now riding on today's case numbers. Friday's are usually the biggest numbers of the week so within 24 hours we will know if last Friday, 1/7/22, is the peak in cases, or if it is today. Many of you never thought that data and charts could be so exciting. If the cases keep tracking lower, America will be in fantastic shape as February begins. New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania and many other states are maintaining a trend of lower cases off their peak tops days earlier, but, as the broken record sounds, everything is riding on today's numbers. Texas is hit with 73K daily new cases yesterday the most ever. Playing the role of Mr Brightside, however, it is only a smidgeon above hump day's 72K cases. Take the encouraging news where you can get it. Ohio is having a tough time of it. President Biden sends in military teams to help out in the Buckeye State as well as New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Michigan and New Mexico. Rhode Island cases are coming off the peak but have been at record levels with the infection rate the worst in the United States and yet it is the most vaccinated state. It is strange stuff since it occurs elsewhere in other states such as the northeast and in other countries such as Israel. The Jewish folks are stuck like pincushions with the protective serum pulsing through everyone's bodies and yet the country is experiencing out of control record cases. Conversely, Africa is a low vaccination continent, less than 10% of the population on average, and yet the omicron wave comes and goes quickly with little fanfare. Vaccinations do not help much against omicron and oddly, a phenomena is occurring where highly vaccinated US states or other countries may experience proportionally more cases. The virologists and epidemiologists are paid the big bucks to figure it out.

Scientists in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, say the COVID-19 levels in the wastewater at the treatment facilities has dropped off nicely over the last week. This is a reliable indicator for infections and an encouraging sign for Boston and Massachusetts. The cases in the Bay State are at 23K per day on average with the peak on 1/5/22. If the peak holds after today's data, Massachusetts is in good shape since 1/5/22 will likely be the omicron top and that is 9 days ago. 16 of the 2 dozen workers at a Belgium research post in Antarctica get coronavirus but the cases are not serious. A person arriving at the outpost one week ago was in isolation but the virus, likely omicron, spread to others anyway. That is called getting off on the wrong foot. No one wants to eat with him at the lunch table and he is sent outside each day to shovel snow. Everyone at the facility is fully vaccinated so add another couple dozen cases to the breakthrough column.

Scientists at Oregon State University discover that marijuana compounds can block COVID-19 from entering cells. The hemp or cannabis compounds block the covid spike protein and neutralize COVID-19 in the laboratory. It is not proven to prevent infections in humans (no clinical data as yet). Studies on rats are probably next then humans so it will be a while before it is recommended. Doctors and medical researchers worry that the news will increase pot smoking since people will think marijuana is helping prevent the virus. Too late. A gurgling sound is heard across America (bongs). In England, a UK nurse recovers from a covid coma after being administered Viagra. The fully vaccinated 37 year old nurse recovered in 48 hours. The drug treats pulmonary hypertension. It opens up circulation in the organs such as the male penis or lungs. Viagra expands the blood vessels and the nurse has asthma so it was a Godsend saving her obese butt. Officials are concerned that people are going to use Viagra to fight coronavirus. China Flu evolves into a strange disease where the treatment for afflicted people involves sitting around all day watching cartoons while smoking pot and taking Viagra. The world sure has changed. West Virginia Governor Jim Justice is doing better with his bout with COVID-19 which is great news. Justice tested positive earlier this week and the news was he was not doing well. Justice credits his recovery to the vaccinations. He is old and overweight so he had 2 comorbidities from the get-go and as the data is showing, the more comorbidities, the worse outcome if you get sick with COVID-19. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that mandated that all city workers be vaccinated, extends the deadline for compliance until the end of the month. General Electric suspends its covid vaccine mandate program after the SCOTUS ruling. Biden is asking businesses to voluntarily implement the draconian rules adn is disappointed in GE. Give it up, Sleepy Joe. The vaccine mandates have done enough damage. Google is mandating testing at its headquarters due to the omicron wave.

She says 500 million covid tests will be available next week which is not true. The web site to order tests is supposed to be available on Wednesday and the delivery of tests will begin but not the entire amount right away. Her office walks back the statement. She should know this stuff off the tip of her tongue. She is unprepared. Thus, is it a matter of her too stupid to grasp the material or too lazy to do the work? She's a lawyer so she is smart. Harris probably needs someone to help her set priorities, and she needs to read and study the briefings, plus she needs to shed some of her stage freight in having questions tossed at her in rapid-fire succession. A public relations coach would help her out. If she wants to play in the big leagues, she needs to up her game pronto and she needs to learn her subject matter. The Whitehouse is the gang that could not shoot straight. If you think you have covid, you run to the computer and order a test. Then two weeks later the test arrives but you have already forgot about it because you recovered from the China Virus several days ago. It is funny stuff. What is not so funny is that the test does not arrive in a timely manner and when it does, it sits inside the mailbox because you are at the hospital with a vent down your throat and the priest giving you Last Rights.
Note Added Saturday Morning, 1/15/22, at 3:00 AM EST: The time has come, as Midnight Oil would sing. The US Friday data is in and will dictate if Friday, 1/7/22, is the peak in US daily new cases, or if yesterday, 1/14/22, claims the prize. Take a deep breath. It is good news. The United States reports 827K daily new cases for yesterday remaining below the peak in cases on the prior Friday at 897K cases and this 1/7/22 top will likely hold as the peak. This is a good way to begin the weekend. Wednesday was the elevated 874K cases which hinted that trouble may be brewing for Thursday and Friday but these days are 858K cases and 827K cases, respectively, moving nicely lower. Note that 2 weeks ago the rate of drop in cases was 16K but over the last week the drop in cases is 31K. It is nice to see an acceleration lower in the cases since it hints that the ice pick formation, or inverted V pattern, is playing out. Another small victory is the 7-day MA for US daily cases now curling over for the first time to 797K cases per day from 807K cases per day on Thursday. The weekend numbers are always lower which will create more positivity into next week. Many states are getting hit with a snowstorm now through Monday which may keep people home and slow the spread. However, people will be out in force today jammed together in stores buying up every last toilet paper roll, milk carton and loaf of bread on the shelves. It is Pavlov's Dog behavior. When a snowstorm is coming, humans run out and buy toilet paper, milk and bread until the shelves go bare; that's what they do. The peak in US cases is 897K on 1/7/22 (the US cases peaked last year on 1/8/21) and taking 8% off the number as per the Keystone Model is 825K cases. Unfortunately, for the Keystone Model, the peak is yesterday, 1/14/22, because the 827K is above the 825K. Adding 28 days to 1/14/22 is 2/11/22 for the flattening and rollover of the US active cases chart (see charts above) that displays the stress and strain on the US hospital system. The B11529 Omicron variant is fast-moving so the 28 days may be more like 14 to 28 days, and perhaps 7 to 21 days since the Keystone Model was only a hair away from using 1/7/22 as the peak top in daily cases. Thus, the US hospital system will remain swamped into the end of the month, however, the last few days of the month should show improvement in hospital caseloads and then a big improvement in conditions will occur the first 2 weeks of February. There is light at the end of the covid tunnel and it is not an oncoming train. Hospital workers have to hang in there for another week or two and then the worst will be past (as long as the daily cases remain below 825K). Deaths are above 1.8K souls per day now threatening the 2.0K US deaths per day at the height of the delta wave 5. People are dying because there is not enough monoclonal antibody treatments available (Regeneron and Eli Lilly work on the Delta variant and earlier strains while GlaxoSmithKline MAb works on the Omicron variant) or Pfizer anti-viral oral pills. In addition, Biden only supports vaccines which leads us into this covid dead end. Sleepy Joe could immediately improve his favorability if a new COVID-19 plan re-embraced herd immunity and EARLY TREATMENT options. It is stupid not to since the vaccines only have limited efficacy. US wave 5 was the delta wave with the waning vaccine efficacy (breakthrough) cases starting to appear. US wave 6 is due to the waning vaccine efficacy cases increasing substantively and then the Omicron variant hitting the US with vengeance sending cases into the stratosphere. It appears the top is in with US cases and the active cases and hospitalizations should show great improvement before Groundhog Day.

It is great news because it also points the path forward for other states to quickly follow. The daily cases are also off the top for New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont and other states. Alaska remains in the heat of battle against the omicron scourge. Folks congregate indoors to stay warm and enjoy the camaraderie in the colder climate and omicron loves the party and goodwill fun. The Dakota's are hit with elevated cases. Ditto Montana and Minnesota northern border states. Some of the rampant Canadian infections may be flowing south. California cases remain elevated. Ditto Texas but Friday's cases in the Lonestar State are less than Thursday's which may, fingers crossed, serve as a peak. Ohio and Indiana continue struggling at handling the increased cases but Illinois and Pennsylvania are improving. The US states remain a mixed bag with a positive path ahead.

The cases for the planet over last 4 days are 2.9 million, then 3.3, another 3.3, and now 3.2 million. Fingers are crossed that the world is topping-out with the omicron bug. India reports 268K daily new cases another record for the current omicron wave. The party is over in Japan with daily cases catapulting higher to 18K not seen since August and September. Oh no. There's the snake in the covid woodpile keeping the world's cases elevated. Brazil. The Amazon nation reports over 111K daily new cases almost the highest ever if not for one other day; 6/23/21. Almost 4%of the cases in the world right now are in Brazil and over 8% are in India. 1 in every 8 covid cases in the world today are occurring in either Brazil or India. Brazil is in big trouble and President Bolsonaro's flimsy popularity and support may disappear all together. South America is now the omicron epicenter. UK party-boy Prime Minister Boris Johnson remains buried in scandal due to several celebrations he and his staff enjoyed over the last year as they decreed lockdowns on everyone else. In addition, Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, died and the night before the funeral, instead of showing reverence and respect, Boris and the gang were partying, boozing, singing and dancing. The media is having a field day because humans love scandals. Johnson is the butt of jokes and his detractors smell blood in the water so they pull out the knives embellishing the scandal calling the parties "alcohol-soaked celebrations." It's funny stuff. The UK reports 99.6K cases, a sub 100K number for the first time since 12/21/21 almost a month ago. Boris can have a drink to that. The UK is on the mend as Boris dons a lampshade while dancing and singing on top of the conference room table. Shut him off. France remains in trouble with elevated cases but the top on 1/11/22 at 368K cases may hold. Teachers and kids are out sick in France and classes are cancelled in record numbers. Cases in Italy may have topped. Spain is smacked with record high cases the last 2 days as the nation crosses the 8 million total daily cases milestone. Portugal is also struggling These western European nations were looking good but another spike appears over the last few days. Hopefully, this behavior does not occur in the US in the week ahead. Cases in Germany remain elevated and 1% of its population is infected with COVID-19. Netherlands reports the most cases ever but it is backing off its draconian lockdowns. The directives from politicians in Netherlands are poor with authorities juking when they should be jiving over the last month. The Dutch are now relaxing covid guidelines as cases set new records. A Paris court suspends the stupid outdoor mask mandate. It is silly wearing a mask while out in public with no one around. It is like the idiots driving down the road, in a car by themselves, with windows up, wearing a mask. Laugh and point at the monkey in the car window but hope it is not a cancer patient wearing the mask due to a weakened immune system. Turkey is in bad shape as the omicron wave continues eastward across Europe. Ireland may have topped with daily new cases which is good news; they need a break. Australia struggles with the omicron outbreak and New South Wales reports that more double vaccinated people are in hospitals than the unvaccinated.

First, folks have to find tests to buy, and second, send their receipts into slow-moving insurance companies for reimbursement. Rich people do this stuff not poor people. As mentioned last evening, the 'www.covidtests.gov' website will begin taking orders for tests on Wednesday and ship them via Pony Express. Raise your hand if you think Wednesday is going to go swimmingly for the website. People will jam that site starting 12:01 AM EST on 1/19/22, on the quarter-moon, wanting tests and some folks will then resell the tests to local people or via eBay to make a couple bucks for a hit (drugs) or bottle of Mad Dog (cheap wine). Such is everyday life for some people. With the credibility of Biden, Fauci, Walensky, the Whitehouse, CDC and NIH, all on the line, the hump day release of the covid test ordering website better go off without a hitch. Competence and credibility would start to recover if the test site operates flawlessly on Wednesday, but all confidence will be permanently lost in the whole Hee-Haw gang if the website crashes. Note Added Saturday Afternoon, 1/15/22: The Tulsa Health Department in Oklahoma is warning citizens to not catch the omicron virus on purpose at "Omicron Parties." People believe the Omicron variant is mild and just want to get it over with so they are meeting in small get-togethers, catching the virus, and then developing natural immunities. Medical officials are worried about the Omicron Party fad and hope that it fades away. The WHO approves two new COVID-19 treatments. First, scientists find that the combination of baricitinib, an arthritis drug, and corticosteroids, reduce the need for ventilators and greatly improve the outcomes of severely ill covid patients. Second, the GlaxoSmithKline and Vir Biotechnology drug Sotrovimab, an antibody treatment, is approved for use especially with folks that have comorbidities to try and keep them out of the hospital. The good guys are slowly winning the fight against China Flu. Once the boatload of COVID-19 treatments and therapies are available in large supplies, the pandemic will fade. The US will be in good shape if Sleepy Joe ditches the vaccine only strategy and instead embraces all the EARLY TREATMENT options in addition to vaccines. Biden would regain credibility if he showed respect for natural immunities and incorporated this important antibody protection in the overall strategy for America. Woopie! Wheee! New York State looks great with the skinny inverted V pattern playing out for the daily new cases. Deaths continue ramping higher in the Empire State, however, at 178 souls per day. Many US states are looking good. The news should continue improving going forward. Florida crosses the 5 million total cases milestone and the 63K deaths grim milestone. Whoa. Arizona reports 25K daily new cases the most ever. Texas cases are maintaining peak highs. Mexico's daily cases are spiraling out of control no doubt impacting the US southern border states.

That is good news but one day does not make a trend. Comparing the 2.4 million cases to Saturday one week ago at 2.7 million cases is another positive (lower case numbers comparing the days on a week-on-week basis). India reports 271K daily new cases but only a smidge above the prior day's 268K so a peak may be coming this week which would be great news for the world. Brazil cases plummet from 111K to 48K over the last day a nice pullback but it could be a data anomaly. UK cases drop to 81K coming down very nicely. England is on the mend, however, 2 out of every 3 Brit's want UK Prime Minister Johnson to resign. Boris and his staff are party people enjoying life and laughs while the population was in lockdown or mourning Price Philip's death. Johnson's favorability is slipping because the Brit's are concerned that the government is looking like a laughingstock. Boris is a 'Teflon' political leader (everything bad slides off of him) but perhaps the party scandal may be his Waterloo. Germany's daily cases remain elevated but 2 days off the peak is a good sign. Germany tightens restrictions only allowing fully vaccinated or recovered individuals to access certain businesses, venues and events. The United States should note that Germany and other nations are recognizing natural immunity as acceptable antibody protection as they should. Sleepy Joe Biden could help his flailing popularity if he shows respect for natural immunity and tells employers to stop hassling workers that had COVID-19 and recovered and do not want vaccinated. France's daily cases are likely peaking as thousands of protesters take to the streets demonstrating against the vaccine passes. People do not want to 'show their papers, please'. France is about to pass a law that unvaccinated people are not allowed to access most public events and venues. The Aussie politicians are concerned about civil unrest if Djokovic is allowed to stay and compete in the tennis tournament. Note Added Sunday Morning, 1/16/22, at 6:00 AM EST: After the broad OSHA vaccine mandate rules are shot down by SCOTUS last week, some companies are choosing to go ahead with their vaccine mandate requirements and deadlines. Some of these dirtbag companies have papers ready that say if the deadline occurs and the employee is not vaccinated, they agree to resign from the company. That is laughable. If anyone ever sticks a paper like that in your face, tell them to shove it up their *ss. If you are unvaccinated and get fired, do not sign anything, and do not agree to resigning. Companies want you to sign that paper because then you could not sue because they will say you voluntarily left. If unvaccinated, simply keep showing up for work, be nice to everyone, and keep doing your job until the company fires you, or locks you out. Then get yourself a labor lawyer and you'll make a bunch of money. Many unvaccinated employees are pro-vaccine but if they had COVID-19, and have natural antibodies, it is stupid to stick the mRNA serum into your body, let alone your *sshole boss telling you to do so. The 7-day MA is now pointing down dropping to 682K cases per day and it should keep on falling to create the ice pick pattern. US deaths remain elevated at 1.8K souls per day. New York is on the mend with the test positivity rate plummeting from 23% to 13% over the last week. Ohio daily cases skyrocket to 26K so something has gone terribly wrong. Pennsylvania cases pop testing the highs from a week earlier. Cases are also elevated in West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri and Wisconsin. Arizona is in bad shape perhaps due to immigration shenanigans. People will be able to effortlessly order up to 4 covid test kits. The site also shows an Espanol option so Biden and the CDC will make the site accessible to Spanish-speaking folks. This is exciting. In only 41 hours, millions of people will descend on the web site to order tests and it is supposed to go swimmingly. Hopefully it will but we have seen this picture before with the Affordable Care Act (ACA; Obamacare) website. But thinking positively, Biden and the whole gang will redeem themselves greatly when the website for tests opens and operates flawlessly in 41 hours. Tick, tock, tick, tock. That pimple-faced kid writing the code for the website hasn't slept in 2 days and is surviving on Twinkies and Gatorade while 4 bosses stand over him telling him he only has 41, no, now its 40, hours remaining to have the test site ready. Milley is in physical contact with President Biden a couple times per week. Initial news stories say Milley was vaccinated but not boosted. Then radio reports say he was vaccinated and boosted and then the television reports said he was boosted. Who are you going to believe? It would not have been a good look for a general, that sits with Biden a couple times per week, to not be boosted, especially when the government is forcing vaccinations down everyone's throats telling people it is the end of the world if they are not boosted. More studies will be needed but the news is not good for the pro-vaccine folks. Medical people keep saying that vaccines prevent death but this claim is not holding up as well as it did a few months ago. The US looks good but tops in daily cases will be needed for Midwestern and southern states this week. New Jersey is on the mend but sadly crosses the 2 million total cases milestone. Continued progress at beating down omicron in the US is expected. Last year, daily cases peaked on 1/8/21 and the hospitalizations peaked a week later. Well, look at that. The CDC COVID Data Tracker 7-day MA (average) for hospitalizations is 132K and dropping an extremely positive development. Even better, the CDC, is 5 days behind in the data as usual so the situation has to be far better now. Many US hospitals are likely showing big improvements in conditions over the last few days and it will only get better. Good news, Chariot's a Comin'.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 1/18/22, at 7:00 AM EST: An ESPN sports television commentator Stephen Smith recovers from COVID-19 and embellishes his dilemma. He says he had a 103 degree Fahrenheit fever every night. So let's get this straight. His brain and organs were boiling at 103 degrees non-stop for several days. He must be Superman. Smith says the cold chills, the sweats, the headache, and coughing, it was all so horrible (sounds like standard flu symptoms) that he checked into the hospital for one day on New Year's Day. He says he had double pneumonia in both lungs and liver problems. Wow, all this was occurring but he only meandered over to the hospital for one day and then went back home. God Bless him and it is great that he recovered but he sounds like a carnival barker and hype artist. He also does not detail his comorbidities. The tell is in the end of his dramatic storytelling where he says if it was not for the miracle of the vaccines, he would not be here. A couple hours ago, the radio stations and cable news outlets started reporting that the www.covidtests.gov website is up and running. President Biden redeems himself with a victory, however, the proof is in the pudding. Keystone jumps onto the site and is greeted with the message; "Covidtests.gov is up and running early so we can test the site before our official launch tomorrow. We have tests for every residential address in the US. Please check back tomorrow if you run into any unexpected issues." The message does not instill confidence but the site worked flawlessly. Keystone entered the address and other information. 4 tests are sent so it is simple and there is nothing to select. There is no wait or any problem. It takes 1 minute or less. The pimple-faced kids doing the coding and programming did a good job. Biden may wait for tomorrow before doing a victory lap. Heaviest traffic may be around 8 AM EST to 11 AM EST as word gets around and people at work jump on the site. Thus, if the site holds up into lunchtime tomorrow, it is good to go. Keystone will wait 7 to 12 days to see if the test kits are delivered on time by Ebony the mail lady, er, postal worker. The only minor criticism of the website is the tiny font inside the blank boxes where you enter a name and address. Great luck to Dr Bowden. The truth always wins. Ivermectin is a cheap and extremely valuable tool in use worldwide in handling the pandemic. Sue them for everything they're worth. Make them pay especially since they are a hospital that would not use proven accepted treatments such as ivermectin because the therapies went against their sick vaccine-only narrative. The US is trending lower ever since the 1/7/22 peak in daily cases which is especially sweet when other nations are slipping on covid banana peels. The 3 and 7-day MA's for US daily cases are dropping which is a great indication of a positive path ahead. Deaths thankfully turn down on the 7-day MA basis to 1.7K souls per day. The Carolina's are improving with cases pulling back from the record levels, however, North Carolina tags the 20K deaths grim milestone. The mid-Atlantic states are improving. California cases trail lower which is great news. Arizona remains challenged. Some news stories rewrite the initial reports and say he died of a heart attack, perhaps so the vaccinations would not receive negative press. A doctor knowledgeable on the deaths says blood clots (from the vaccinations?) to the heart caused Talley's demise. Talley was a misunderstood creative genius in the fashion industry and most great ones, ahead of their time, are always misunderstood. He was friends with Andy Warhol. The CDC releases a study that concludes vaccinations provide better protection than prior infections and unvaccinated people are of greater risk for hospitalization and death exactly what they and the Whitehouse have been preaching for the last year. How convenient. No one is paying attention. Instead of spending time and resources on that study, which is confusing and difficult to understand, the money is better spent on research into HCQ, ivermectin and other COVID-19 treatments and therapies; something that can be of use and help to average people. It is shameful that the CDC has not conducted research on other treatments. They ignore important developments and off-label use of existing drugs because they do not fit the vaccine-only agenda. Interest rates and inflation are moving higher creating trader and investor angst. Sell, Mortimer, sell! The clock strikes 4 and the much-anticipated President Biden press conference is imminent. His handlers keep him away from reporters to cover up his mental slowness so the stakes are high for the Q&A (question and answer) period this afternoon. The number one concern is how the president handles the presser. Is he confused? Does his answers make sense? Is he cognitively there? This test is more important than what he actually says. Does he slur his speech? Does his eyes exhibit the wild drug-induced animated stare? Hopefully, he does well but people need to see that he is all there. If not, the country has a problem going forward. Typically, presidents hold these news conferences in prime time at 8 PM EST or 9 PM EST when the maximum amount of Americans watch television. Conveniently, many Americans will be commuting home from work or busy with dinner or other late afternoon tasks and will miss the event (is that the intent?). In California, they will be at lunchtime or afterwards sitting in a bathroom stall when the presser occurs. Sleepy Joe is pushing 80 and when you get that old you eat dinner at 3 PM and go to bed at 4 PM so this is a late-night for Uncle Joe. The presser is in the vast East Room but humorously, the Whitehouse is limiting the amount of journalists attending citing COVID-19 concerns. Sounds like the fix is in. It will be interesting to see if the event has a staged feel with reporters from CNN and MSNBC, and the broadcast channels (ABC,CBS, NBC), democrat-run media, asking softball questions. Perhaps the questions, and answers, are already known. Joe has been studying hard the last 2 days so there may be a display of political choreography occurring this afternoon. The Whitehouse does not want the gaggle of reporters firing questions at him so they are controlling the room. Biden says he will be in office for one year tomorrow. He talks about the fear and frustration that some people feel due to the never-ending pandemic. Biden decrees, "We are going to stick with our vaccination efforts." He says vaccinations are the way forward selling the same ole wares. Nothing new here. Biden remains the vaccination only show. Joe proclaims, "We are in a better place than we have been thus far." He is wrong. Biden did not order tests, monoclonal antibodies or oral pills. That is failure with daily infections at record levels. To say the country is in a better place is pure stupidity. Sleepy Joe is a typical politician that cannot admit he is wrong; just like King Donnie. Biden has an opportunity in the speech but it is disappointing he cannot acknowledge other treatments and therapies besides the vaccines. The president appears alert so the couple days of preparation appears to have helped. At 4:15 PM EST, he begins taking questions with a goofy grin on his face. He claims he did not "overpromise" and under deliver. He claims that he has made "enormous progress." What was Joe smoking today? Holy smokes. That is fantasy. The enormous progress Biden made was creating chaos with everything he touched. He blames republicans for things going wrong. In a minute, he will probably blame the unvaccinated. Biden says, "I'm going to stay on this track (same-o, same-o)." Biden is asked about some US schools not opening due to covid safety concerns. Sleepy Joe lurches forward and says, in the creepy whisper voice, "Over 95% are open." The presser is scripted with Biden looking at a sheet of paper and calling out the journalist asking the question and the reporter reads the question from a sheet of paper or their smartphone so it appears the stuff was likely reviewed, discussed and politically choreographed ahead of time. Biden is asked why the definition of fully vaccinated is not changed to 3 shots and is it because only a small percentage of the country would then be vaccinated? He dodges the question and instead tells people to get their booster shots. Biden loses his temper towards the end but holds up well. Biden is asked why 49% of the country thinks he is cognitively challenged. He smirks at the question and says he does not know why and moves on to the next question. Biden stupidly says that his idea of a "return to normalcy" is having 30 million or more people get vaccinated; he's a one-trick vaccination pony. Critics will say he is not offering anything new with the pandemic. Biden says two controversial things on other topics that will need clarification; the Ukraine/Russia conflict and questioning the legitimacy of the upcoming mid-term elections. Overall, he is alert and knowledgeable on the issues, and he shows stamina standing for nearly 2 hours, nullifying, at least for now, the image of a senile and tired old Alzheimer's guy. The presser ends at 5:54 PM EST and the political spin will continue all night long. It is surprising he could control his bladder that long.

The masks will be available at hospitals, pharmacies and wherever the vaccine shots are administered. The program will take a month to come up to full speed. The league is removing testing requirements except for teams crossing the Canadian border. Sounds like the hockey players are getting on with life. The covid tests do not distinguish between the Delta and Omicron variants although chances are it is omicron (more extensive testing of the sample is required). How come the medical talking heads told Americans the opposite for many months? 99.5% of the new cases are the Omicron variant, however, and the jury is out with that data. Interestingly, the study stops the data set in November 2021 but that is when the waning vaccine efficacy was ramping higher (from September to present) so the conclusion would only go more in favor of natural immunity. Both Pfizer and Moderna say they will have booster shots (fourth jab) available for omicron in March. Will anyone care by then? The cause of death is typically provided when celebrities or other notable people pass. There is a trend over the last couple months where the cause of death will be announced for famous folks if it is not China Flu. If the celebrity dies from complications from COVID-19, however, the cause of death is not provided until a couple weeks later when no one is paying attention. But the chronology pays attention. Netflix, NFLX, crashes -21% as subscribers slip away; the platform was in its glory during the covid lockdowns as folks were stuck inside consuming content. The Peloton stationary bicycle was popular during the covid lockdowns in 2020 but falls out of favor as people seek normal lives and get out and about more. PTON stock topped-out one year ago and crashes -85%. If you did not lose weight on the bike, you may have lost it as you watched your money evaporate in PTON. The expensive bicycles are showing up on eBay and Craigslist and production is stopped due to lack of demand. Stupid people spent $4,000 on a clothes hanger when they could have purchased a Walmart stationary bike or treadmill clothes hanger for only a couple hundred bucks.
Note Added Friday Morning, 1/21/22, at 7:00 AM EST: Legendary rock singer and actor Meat Loaf, Michael Lee Aday, 74, dies from COVID-19. His covid death is not hidden but it is unknown if he was vaccinated. The rock opera "Bat Out of Hell" is epic and he sang with many different ladies. At a Pittsburgh show a decade ago, he collapsed on stage due to his asthma which, along with age and being overweight, are 3 comorbidities likely contributing to his demise. Meat Loaf is now in Paradise By The Dashboard Light. World famous singer Adele receives the jackass award for not cancelling her new shows in Las Vegas until last evening the night before the performances were set to begin. People paid big money for tickets, have undergone testing, and traveled to Vegas; it is a mess. Adele appears on social media crying about the cancellation of the shows but hey idiot, why didn't you do it a week ago? Are you going to reimburse people for all their costs? Adele says half of the production crew is out sick with COVID-19. Why would anyone think you could still put on a show under such circumstances? The easy solution is to simply go on with the shows and she would only need to sing with a piano or guitar guy. The ticket cost could have been halved and she could have done extra time and meet and greets with folks and would have been a hero. People would have said it was great. Instead, she and the crew were not smart enough to think through it all, so instead of a hero, she is a zero; but she is perfect in the voice department. Adele is Rolling in the Deep mess she created for herself. COVID-19 wreaks havoc impacting lives day after day, month after month, year after year.
Note Added Friday Afternoon, 1/21/22: A judge in Texas stops President Biden's executive order that all federal employees be vaccinated. The judge says the order is basically telling people they have to take the shot (medical procedure) or lose their jobs; it is a mandate and not legal. Biden's unconstitutional edicts are knocked down one by one and only serve to destroy people's careers and families. For what? For vaccines that are not effective against omicron. Way to go, Joe. The DOJ announces plans to appeal the ruling. The matter may end up in the Supreme Court like the other mandates. Many federal employees took the shots to keep their jobs.
