The Dow Industrials print a new all-time record high at 18874 at 1:54 PM on Thursday, 11/10/16, and new all-time closing high at 18848 on Friday, 11/11/16. The Friday HOD at 18856 was not enough to overtake Thursday's all-time high. The all-time record highs overtake the prior highs from 8/15/16. The SPX, COMPQ and RUT are not yet at new all-time highs but are in the vicinity. The NDX, Nasdaq 100, printed a new all-time record high three weeks ago but it is collapsing as the large-cap high-tech stocks such as FB, GOOGL, NFLX and AAPL are hit.
The Dirty Thirty rises as traders chase healthcare and pharma stocks higher due to the Trump win in the US presidential election. Clinton had planned to target price gouging by big pharma but this concern now disappears. Trump touts less regulation and lower taxes that will help company bottom lines. Trump promises infrastructure and other spending sounding like a Keynesian out of control, so industrials and metals run higher. Copper has gone parabolic.
