May is here. April showers bring May’s coronavirus. The US
daily new cases chart is shown above. The United States reports over 77K cases
for Friday (yesterday), 5/6/22, and the cases for Wednesday are revised higher
to 81.4K cases the highest daily cases thus far for wave 7. It tells you the
top for the US BA2 Omicron Subvariant daily new cases wave is still ahead. The
daily cases for prior days are getting revised higher never a good sign.
The 3-day MA for US daily cases continues printing higher
highs and higher lows maintaining the upward trend in cases. The 7-day MA for
US cases is up to 67K cases per day continuing higher. The news is lousy. The
hope is that wave 7 will be a wave 4 redux and roll over quickly but that is
not happening. Wave 7 is stretching its covid muscles.
The US active cases chart is shown above. More bad news. US
active COVID-19 cases rise to 1.6 million. Active cases were down at 1.1
million only 3 weeks ago.
MSNBC (democrat-run media) joins Worldometer in declaringover 1 million American deaths from COVID-19 a grim milestone. The CDC is at 995Kdeaths. Johns-Hopkins is stuck at 997K deaths. The IHME is at 992K deaths.
These three institutions are bringing up the rear not wanting to cross the
tragic 1 million deaths milestone but, like going to the dentist, they must
face the music.
The US total deaths chart is shown above. There are 1.024
million dead Americans due to China Flu. More Americans died of covid than live in the states of Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Rhode Island or Montana. 350K Americans died before the vaccines
were available in mid-December 2020 and 674K died after the vaccines were
available now 17 months along.
436K Americans died under Trump’s watch. 588K died under
Biden’s watch. 35% more deaths occur under Biden than Trump but Biden’s time on
the pandemic is longer. 371K Americans died in 2020, 479K died in 2021 and 174K
US citizens are dead thus far in 2022. Those are the ugly facts.
The US daily new deaths chart is shown above. Absolutely
shameful. While Sleepy Joe tilts at windmills and solar cells ignoring the
pandemic which is what he was hired to fix, America’s covid death rate
tragically lines-out sideways at about 306 deaths per day. The death rate is no
longer trailing lower. It is a failure of the Biden administration and CDC.
Where’s the Paxlovid? Where’s the monoclonal antibodies? The
treatments and therapies are probably only available to the rich. Vice
President Harris that tested positive for covid was all smiles saying she
received Paxlovid right away. Obviously, there is incompetency in play when
Paxlovid came into use last September 2021 and 8 months later in May 2022, the proven
treatment is not still reducing the death count.
Paxlovid’s efficacy has not changed; it is a very effective
treatment. It simply remains in inadequate supplies and is not getting to the (poor,
minority and disadvantaged) people that need it despite the Whitehouse telling
everyone all is groovy. Biden promised that adequate supplies of Pfizer’s
Paxlovid and the monoclonal antibody treatments would be available in early
2022 but he failed again. Sleepy Joe is sleeping on the pandemic job.

Point others in the same direction since Americans do not
know where to get help or what to do if they contract COVID-19. This is proven
by a US death rate that is steady at 3 hundo deaths per day and not moving any
lower after 2 years. Television talking heads never mention the therapeuticslocator map.
America could not have two worse presidents (poor managers)
in power during a once in a century pandemic than King Donnie Trump and Sleepy
Joe Biden; Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber.
US deaths are not increasing as yet for wave 7. However, the
downtrend ending and deaths now assuming a sideways posture at about 3 hundo dead
bodies per day is not a good sign. The trend flattens before it rises. Hope
not.
Let’s take a look at some of the states to see how the BA2
Omicron Subvariant little sister daily new cases waves are progressing. New
York is the BA2 poster boy leading the other states. Canada’s infections spread
south across the border infecting northern New York that now expands south into
Pennsylvania and along the East Coast. Instead of ruling like a tyrannical king
and attending black face parties, Trudeau should focus on tamping down Canada’s
China Virus infections.
Oh no. Damn. New York State’s daily new cases chart is shown
above. New York reports nearly 14K daily new cases for Friday a big spike
higher, the most for the current BA2 wave 7 and the highest cases since
January. The wheels just fell off the Empire State bus.
The spike in New York cases is a bad omen for the other
states. It is the worse news thus far for the new BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave.
It is a punch to the stomach. New York’s 7-day MA for daily new cases is up to 8.8K
cases per day and rising. It is lousy news and the poster child says that the
BA2 little sister wave is packing a punch.
New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New
Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Illinois, Oregon
and a few others are the same chart as New York. Perhaps there are some
Whitehouse Correspondents dinner infections from last Saturday in this group as
well.

Massachusetts reports over 4.5K cases for each of the last 2 days and the 7-day
MA is up to 3.3K cases per day moving higher.
Florida’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Florida
crosses the 6 million total COVID-19 infections milestone. Over the last 2
years, 7% of the China Virus illnesses in America are in Florida that also exceeds
the 74K deaths grim milestone.
Florida reports 6.1K daily new cases for Friday the most for
the current wave 7. The 7-day MA is up to 4.7K cases per day. The news for the
United States is negative. The BA2 waves are ramping higher. The spring tulips in
the flower bed lose their bloom and slump over.
Illinois’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Illinois reports
7.7K daily new cases for Friday a record high for the current wave and most
cases in 3 months. It’s all going to Hell in a covid handbasket. The 7-day MA
is up to 4.4K cases per day and rising. The states mentioned above serve as
poster children for what is coming to others states so officials need to
prepare and plan. The state list below can dive into America’s covid headaches
in more detail.
As mentioned the last few days in the updates in the prior
article, the US cases for Thursday and Friday were uber important and sadly,
they went in the bad direction showing that the BA2 Omicron Subvariant little
sister waves have some legs. She’s got Legs, as ZZ Top sings.
The world’s daily new cases chart is shown above and the
news for the planet is good unlike the individual countries such as Taiwan,
China, South Africa and USA. Earth reports 516K daily new cases per day, not
seen since last November, heading towards less than a half a million a day.
The world’s daily new deaths chart is shown above with
global deaths down to 1.95K per day a 1-handle! That is excellent news. Deaths
are at levels not seen since the start of the pandemic.
Taiwan’s daily new cases chart is shown above. It is a
horrible sight with the island nation reporting over 36K cases yesterday,
5/6/22. The 7-day MA has gone parabolic at 24K cases per day. Taiwan truthfully
reports its cases unlike the CCP liars in communist China. 10 Taiwanese die
yesterday the most since last summer’s wave. The US needs to help Taiwan any
way they need it and it would be great if the cases could show even the tiniest
pullback in the week ahead.
China plays games with their numbers so it is hard to find a
good chart to use to display their woes. The communists split out asymptomatic
and symptomatic cases only reporting the latter so the numbers appear smaller.
The dirtbag CCP is always playing deceitful games.
South Africa is slapped in the face. South Africa’s daily
new cases chart is shown above with wave 5 worsening. The nation at the
southern tip of Africa reports 9.3K daily new cases the most of wave 5.
Terrible news especially since the BA4 and BA5 subvariants are at play down
there.
The 7-day MA for South Africa’s daily new cases is up to 6K
cases per day and rising. Cases are rising in Eswatini so the outbreak is
spreading.

Unfortunately, Portugal reports 16K daily new cases the most in 3 months and
the 7-day MA is up to 12K cases per day and rising. Bad news. Spain may head
down the same path. These two western European nations kept the BA2 wave at bay
but the virus is starting to win.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 83.5 million. India is next with 43.1 million total virus cases.
Brazil, France, Germany, UK, Russia, South Korea, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Vietnam,
Argentina, Netherlands and Japan round out the top 15 worst nations. This
ranking is steady for a month.
COVID-19 has infected 517 million people worldwide. China
owes reparations to the world for their crime against humanity. 6.27 million
people on Earth are dead from the China Flu a grim statistic. 471 million global
citizens have recovered from the virus. 91% (471/517) of the people that become
infected with COVID-19 recover in a reasonable time frame.
Worldwide, 1.2% (6.27/517) of the people that are infected
with covid die; 1 in 82. This number sat at 2.1%-2.2% for many months but
trends lower for the last 4 months to 1.2%. The vaccinations and natural
immunities are helping to lower the world’s death rate albeit by small increments.
6.7% (517/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 15 people on earth. This
was 1 in every 24 people about 4 months ago and 1 in 18 about 3 months ago. This
behavior (a fast rate lower) verifies the contagiousness of the Omicron variant
and subvariants.
0.08% of the world’s population (6.27/7670) died from the
pandemic; 1 in every 1,223 people on earth died from China Virus. The WHO, that
lies in bed with the CCP, recalculates its death numbers in a more inclusive
way, and proclaims that 15 million people died on the planet due to COVID-19
which is 0.20% of the world’s population or 1 in every 511 people.
In the United States, 83.5 million people are infected with covid.
1.024 million Americans are dead. 80.9 million Americans have recovered from coronavirus.
This equates to 97% (80.9/83.5) of US citizens recovering after becoming
infected with COVID-19. This number is a dramatic improvement from the 61% to
84% range during the first 1-1/2 years of the pandemic although adjustments to
the counting of data cannot be ruled out as a factor.
In the US, 1.2% (1/83.5) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. This number was sticky at 1.6% to 1.8% for many months but has sagged to
1.2% over the last 6 months. 1 in every 84 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus
die. 0.3% (1/330) of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in every 330 Americans
over the last 2 years.
25% (83.5/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid; 1 in every 4 Americans. The minority
communities are impacted disproportionately. The 25% that now have natural
immunities solidly contribute towards herd immunity. The CDC says one-half the
US population, 50%, have been infected by COVID-19 and have some level of
antibody protection.
The United States has 16% (83.5/517) of the COVID-19 cases
in the world. 1 in 6 people that become infected with covid on planet earth are
Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago, but not so
much in recent weeks and months. This percentage was 22% about one year ago so
it is flatlining for a long time.
The US accounts for 16% (1/6.27) of the China Flu deaths in
the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are Americans.
10 months ago, it was 1 in 5. The numbers are stalled at the same level for the
last few months.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active
cases chart will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases chart is the
‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and strain on the
medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases chart rolls over
forming the bell shape, the virus is being defeated and healthcare workers can
breathe easier.
The Keystone Model uses the peak in the daily new cases to
forecast the peak and flattening of the active cases curve. The ‘flattening of
the curve’ only pertains to the active cases chart. For communist nations where
the populations must do what they are told or they receive a bullet in their
heads (China), and for smaller authoritarian nations (Eastern European
countries, Africa and Middle East nations), and many Asian nations where
citizens follow government rules without questioning authority (South Korea,
Japan, Singapore, Australia), the active cases curve will peak, on average, 11
days after the peak in daily new cases.
For the Western countries, such as the US and European
nations, the so-called free societies, the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 28 days after the peak in new cases. It takes about 2 weeks longer for
a free society to tamp down a virus wave than a communist or authoritarian
state because lockdowns are not strictly followed or enforced.
All projections below for countries and the US states
continue to use the 11 and 28-day periods for forecasting for consistency. When
the peak in daily new cases occurs, if a subsequent day is within 8% of that
peak top, it is identified as the peak in daily new cases day in reference to
the Keystone Model.
The peak in the daily new cases is easily seen on the bar
charts provided by Worldometer, the CDC and Johns-Hopkins. The daily new cases
bar charts are shown on television news channels with a 7-day moving average
(MA) line which is a smoothing mechanism that identifies the trend.
An update for The Keystone Model is provided since another
10-day period passes and more data and information become available to push the
China Virus story forward. The Coronavirus Chronology identifies the real-time

CDC COVID Data Tracker is another excellent source of information. The
Worldometer, Johns-Hopkins and CDC data track each other well with the
Worldometer data leading the others by a few days. The Worldometer data is far
superior for forecasting since it is updated more reliably in real-time.
The countries with rising active cases charts are
highlighted below with the worst nations at the bottom. The peaks in daily new
cases are shown and the projected peaks for active cases are based on the
Keystone Model. The peak and flattening of the active cases curves are
extremely important since it represents the maximum stress on healthcare
workers and the medical systems.
It will take longer for the active cases charts to roll over
to form the bell shape for the troubled nations at the bottom of the list since
they are still experiencing highs and peaks in their daily new cases.
Hospitalizations lag the daily cases by a week or two and deaths lag
hospitalizations by a week or two.

Laos is taken off the bad list as the daily cases drop and the active cases flatten ready to roll over. Finland is also taken off the bad list as it goes to a weekly data reporting schedule. Portugal is added to the bad list and Spain will likely be added next time.
Chile cases nudge higher and require watching. South America
has been unimpacted by the BA2 wave as yet. China and Taiwan are a mess.
The next list shows the 37 most troubled US states since all
display rising active cases curves. The peak in daily new cases and projections
for the peaks in active cases are provided as per the Keystone Model.
The flattening and roll over of the active cases curve
forming the bell shape (like US wave 6 in the active cases chart above)
indicates the virus is being defeated and the caseload on healthcare workers
will quickly improve. The dates are slipping into June as wave 7 expands.
The hospitals, clinics, healthcare workers, doctors, nurses,
medics and caregivers are/will notice increased activity in the 37 states
listed below with wave 7 underway. Hospital administrators are likely telling
nurses to not schedule vacation time in May or through mid-June.

North Carolina is
added to the bad list. Ditto Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Utah, Iowa, Kansas,
New Mexico, West Virginia and Wyoming. We want to take away from the bad list
and turn it into nothing not expand it. Cases bump higher in Delaware perhaps
that is in part due to Biden and his entourage traveling back and forth from
Washington, DC, every weekend and of course perhaps higher cases from the
correspondents dinner.
The southern states
are generally okay but Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana and Tennessee
are deteriorating leading the way to covid misery this summer. Utah cases jump
over the last few days.
Arizona is hanging
in there avoiding the bad list for now. Ditto Texas, South Carolina, Missouri,
Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Nevada, Idaho, Alaska and
South Dakota.
Texas will probably
be added to the bad list next time as cases pop for the first time yesterday.
Arkansas, Mississippi, Idaho, Alaska and Nevada will likely migrate to the bad
list next time.
Thus, 37 states
display rising active cases curves which means hospital needs are increasing in
these states each day forward. Of the 13 states not on the bad list as yet, 6
already look like their active cases charts want to start rising. Raise your
hand if you are sick of the pandemic. Conditions in the United States are
deteriorating as the BA2 Omicron Subvariant little sister wave 7 progresses.
The COVID-19 assessment
above is the most up to date pandemic information available concerning the
United States right now. The CDC Community Transmission map shows the
northeastern states under medium and high infection rates so folks should
consider wearing a mask in tight quarters or around large crowds.
The CDC wastewatersurveillance map looks like a waste of time compared to Keystone’s state breakdown
above. The wastewater map is the teenage girl glitter dot map. This project
should be trimmed way back and those funds put towards updating the CDC data in
real time which is the number one problem. How can the covid bus be driven
safely and successfully down the road while looking in the rearview mirror
(data is constantly a few days or a week or more behind)?
The superiority of
using daily new cases data above any other metric for forecasting virus
outbreak waves should be glaringly obvious. Some idiots say less
testing is occurring so daily cases are not a good metric to assess new waves.
These are stupid people at least when it comes to mathematics and charting.
The trend will still
be reflected in the data set whether it is a small or large sample. Study the
charts on the Worldometer site and you will easily see how new waves can be identified
with limited case data. The 37 states above, the most accurate count of the
states in trouble, cannot be identified by the CDC Community Transmission map
and definitely not by the glitter-dot map.
President Biden’s
appeals in the courts continue. Federal courts struck down the mask mandate on
public transportation but Biden wants to continue forcing Americans to wear
masks (as he goes maskless while yucking it up with other elitists at the
Whitehouse Correspondents dinner last weekend). Give it up dude. Even with the
BA2 wave 7 hitting the US now, it will be difficult to get folks to wear masks
again.
The Whitehouse also
needs to make a decision on possibly ending the Title 42 law that allows agents
to turn away migrants at the southern border because of the ongoing pandemic. Biden
wants to keep the border wide open with thousands of people waltzing into the
United States daily thinking that they will eventually vote democrat so he
wants to end Title 42.
Biden’s logic is
likely idiotic since polls show Latinos steadily migrating away from the
democrat tribe towards the republican tribe during the last couple years. It is
easy to understand why. Latino’s and Latina’s love their families and take
their kids everywhere. Comedians joke about it.
Hispanic folks
cherish the family and obviously do not want their children taught sex education
or other goofball stuff at too young an age that the liberals are peddling.
Kids should be allowed to keep their innocence for as long as possible. The
small number of kids that need guidance at a young age can be provided individual
private help.
Several democrats up
for election in November are splitting with Biden and do not want Title 42 to
end this month. If Biden nixes Title 42, the southern border will be Hell on
Earth this summer. The cable news outlets will be showing 10’s of thousands of
migrants crossing the southern border each day. Democrats will be blamed for
the chaos further destroying their election prospects on 11/8/22 that already
appear dismal. Thus, democrats are breaking with Biden and in favor of
continuing Title 42 to contain the border chaos and save their own arses.
US wave 7 is
worsening in the United States. Hopefully, but hope is never a good strategy,
the daily new cases for the leaders of the BA2 wave such as New York, New
Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida, Vermont and New Hampshire, will
roll over and trend lower painting a brighter picture for May. Don’t count on
it. Right now, the BA2 covid clouds are darkening the skies above America.
Note Added 7:00 PM EST: You cannot make the stuff up. CBS executive George Cheeks, that was seated on the dias at the Whitehouse Correspondents' Dinner next to President Biden, tests positive for COVID-19. Of course, Cheeks is fully vaccinated and boosted; a lot of good it did him (as the peanut gallery yells out that the multiple shots will prevent death). Cheeks says he is recovering at home. The maskless Biden, First Lady Jill, Cheeks, another CBS executive Steven Portnoy, comedian Trevor Noah and others were comingling during the evening, yucking it up, shaking hands and backslapping each other. The dinner event is Hollywood for the ugly people. The Whitehouse says 100 million Americans (1 in every 3) may become infected with COVID-19 over the coming months. What are they smoking? This number is hyperbole. After over 2 years of the pandemic, 83.5 million Americans have been infected. The Whitehouse is telling the public that now through the end of the year there will be far more infections than the entire first 2 years of the pandemic; it makes no sense unless it is a ploy to ask for more funding. The US daily new cases chart can be used to estimate the total infections for each of the prior 6 waves in America. Simply block out the portions of the individual waves into rectangles so the areas under the wave can be calculated and added. The Omicron Variant big sister wave 6, that ran from Thanksgiving into February, was about 35 million infections eye-balling it off the chart. An easier way is to look at the US total cases chart on the Worldometer site and subtract the infections across the time period for wave 6 which is about 30 million cases for wave 6. Thus, both methodologies agree that about 30 to 35 million infections occurred for wave 6. It makes no sense that over the next few months, the US cases will be 3 times the horrible omicron wave 6, but, they are supposedly the experts. There may be some hyperbole and embellishments occurring (preaching doom and gloom) because the Whitehouse wants Congress to approve more covid funding. Jha proclaims, "We're not going to have vaccines for the American people, we're going to run out of treatments for the American people, we're not going to have diagnostic testing, it's a pretty bad situation, I think Congress is going to step up and do the right thing, they have to." Paxlovid use is up 10-fold in recent weeks. Jha says 2% of the people that take Paxlovid (1 in 50 people) have a relapse about a week later. One lady says the covid symptoms the second time were more severe than the first time. Pfizer appears okay with people using a second regimen of Paxlovid. Ka-ching.

Over the last couple years, 6.5% of the covid cases in America (1 in 15) have occurred in New York (5.4/83.7). The Empire State reports nearly 11K daily new cases for Monday. 22% of the current wave 7 covid infections in America, about 1 in 5, are in New York State. The 7-day MA is up to 9.7K cases per day. Hotez is at home isolating with a cough and fatigue after testing positive for COVID-19. He is vaccinated and boosted and taking Paxlovid. Hotez is very pro-vaccine and once in a while takes heat from anti-vaccine people. Millions of Americans are not anti-vaccine but simply do not want to take the new mRNA vaccines until a few years pass (typically, all side effects manifest within the first 6 months of public use of a drug, however, no one can fault a person if they want to let time play out to see what happens). To his credit, Hotez has said from the start that the vaccines would be a multiple-shot series and he considers the mRNA shots a 3-dose vaccine. This thinking is in conflict with the CDC that says the first 2 doses, taken about a month apart, meet the requirements and definition of 'full vaccination'. The CDC is out of touch sticking to this definition especially as people become infected with the omicron bugs regardless of vaccination status. The real reason the CDC does not change the definition of fully vaccinated from 2 shots to 3 shots is because 220 million Americans, 66%, are fully vaccinated (2 shots) while 101 million, 46% of the fully vaccinated and only 31% of the country, are vaccinated and boosted. Whazzat? That's a lot of numbers. The Biden administration can say now that '66% of the country is fully vaccinated' even embellish the narrative and call it 'over two-thirds of America are fully vaccinated'. If the CDC changes the definition of fully vaccinated from 2 jabs to 3 jabs, the Whitehouse would have to say 'only 31% of the country is fully vaccinated'. Many Americans have not had their booster shot and officials say the third shot is needed to provide protection against severe illness and death. The pubic is likely tuning out the messaging after vaccines have been available for 17 months. The shots were sold as the panacea that would prevent infection, transmission and death from the China Virus. As the months play out, it is discovered that the jabs really do not prevent infection, and then it is discovered that vaccinated people can carry the virus. Vaccinated parents berated unvaccinated people for months until the lightbulb went off in their dolt minds that despite being vaccinated, they are the ones that carried the virus home and infected their own kids. The medical folks are holding on to the vaccine fig leaf that the shots prevent serious illness and death but the message is likely lost on the public at this point. Many Americans are becoming more skeptical of taking a vaccine to protect themselves but they can still become infected and/or transmit the disease. It is confusing and does not connect with what people expect from a vaccine. The CDC should simply call the multiple shot series a 'COVID-19 death prevention protocol' rather than a vaccine. A month ago, about 40% of the deaths were vaccinated folks and now as a rule of thumb, about half the people dying of covid are vaccinated and the other half unvaccinated. This is why left-leaning media outlets no longer run the hospital stories about unvaccinated people dying from covid (to encourage folks to get vaccinated). There are equal numbers of vaccinated and unvaccinated folks croaking. The COVID-19 pathogen continues evolving over time and the vaccines are not as effective against the highly-contagious omicron bugs. The virus is doing that voodoo that viruses do. Coronavirus becomes more transmissible because it is running out of hosts. It must become more contagious to find more bodies but at the same time, the pathogen loses its virulence (propensity for death).

Both numbers continue lower but their descent is becoming more gradual. Italy continues improving but at a very slow pace. Portugal's data is not updating for several days so that is not a good sign. The assumption has to be made that Portugal has started another outbreak wave but this cannot be verified until the numbers are available. Australia reports 57K cases yesterday. The land Down Under was improving but is now in some trouble again. If the Aussies are not careful, they are headed for a new outbreak wave again. New Zealand reports a bump in cases the most in 2 weeks. Oh no. Singapore reports a pop in cases over the last few days the most in a month. Singapore's active cases remain at record levels. Malaysia's cases bump higher. These are small bumps higher for Singapore and Malaysia but small bumps can turn into big bumps. Indonesia and the Philippines are okay. Singapore and Malaysia relaxed their cross-border trade policies over the last few weeks so obviously the nations are making each other sicker albeit still tiny numbers compared to past case numbers. Boom. Taiwan reports over 57K daily new cases yesterday another record high. Bloomberg reports that a study in China of about 1,000 Wuhan citizens found that more than one-half continue experiencing covid symptoms such as fatigue.

The 3-day MA continues printing higher highs and higher lows maintaining the upward trend in US wave 7. America's active cases continue higher to over 1.8 million so healthcare workers are likely noticing the increased covid activity at hospitals and clinics. The Whitehouse Correspondents' Dinner is not releasing detailed numbers on the number of people testing positive after the event and associated parties. Of course not and the media, that participated, is not writing any stories either. Don't you love corrupt America? There are about a dozen positive test cases verified so far from the dinner including Secretary of State Bliinken but the news is muzzled. Cases are bumping higher in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware but similar to other states and the analysis is not detailed enough to attribute any of the bump to the dinner event. Washington, DC, however, reports a big 1,062 cases jump on Tuesday but the data is challenging since they do not report each day. The timing of the spike in cases occurs exactly when it would be expected after the potential superspreader dinner. The Gridiron dinner, attended by 630 of the privileged elite class, resulted in 85 illnesses, or about 14% (1 in 7 people at the dinner got infected with covid). If the same percentage occurs after the correspondents' dinner, 351 of the 2,600 attendees would be expected to test positive. The number may come in lower, even far lower, which proves there is merit in having everyone vaccinated and providing proof of a negative test before an event. However, the jury remains out and the cases in Washington, DC, will dictate if the correspondents' dinner is a superspreader. Other schools in the county are choosing to remain maskless. The mask debate continues. Summarizing the studies to date, there is only a marginal benefit to wearing a mask so the controversy will surely continue. Masks should be optional. If you are in constant fear of contracting COVID-19, probably from watching too much cable news media, stay away from people. The CDC map has merit but it has to be updated faster in real-time; the data is always several days old. Folks in Allegheny County are weighing their options (work from home, masks, social distancing, getting booster shots, etc..) now that they see the infection rate rising. The county map will be useful for handling future pandemics so the public should be trained now to reference and follow the community transmission information. In other words, a guy probably averaged some of the data sources including the Worldometer data, and it tallied 1 million. The Reuters article says the CDC says 1.1 million deaths have occurred. That is wrong (as the link above proves) or the CDC knowingly and purposely withholds posting data on their website for a few days. The president declares, "The pandemic isn't over." Of course it is not over since you took your eye off the ball choosing to spend your time on climate change (that is used to forcibly distribute money from wealthy nations to poor nations) rather than ordering monoclonal antibody treatments and Paxlovid pills to stop US citizens from dying. Biden tries to play the empathy schtick in his speeches to boost his plummeting popularity but that does not even work for him anymore; he comes across phony rather than sincere. Joe proclaims that there are "1 million empty chairs around the family dinner table." Biden takes the opportunity to ask for more covid funding from Congress. He blames the woes of the pandemic on the lack of funding and chastises the global response to the pandemic. The US has done more to help the world handle the pandemic than any other country. Whitehouse COVID-19 coordinator Dr Jha comes under fire for his statement about 100 million more covid infections from now through the end of the year a huge number since there are only 84 million cases during the whole pandemic thus far. Jha made the claim as he asked Congress for more covid funding. The chronology called out the ridiculousness of the 100 million infection number a couple days ago so obviously the word got around and others are now questioning the wild claim. The modeling data that forecasts the 100 million infections is not released. Of course not. Zients was the covid punching bag for the last year and now Jha assumes the role with trial by fire. On the steps of the Capitol Building, Congressional leaders hold a moment of silence for the 1 million American deaths from COVID-19. The corrupt people smile for their photo-op.

Over 350K people report fevers and about 190K are in isolation to slow the spread. Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, imposes maximum emergency measures. Kim Jong-un declares the "gravest national emergency" and orders a countrywide lockdown. This is not good. North Korean folks are malnourished with weak immune systems so the path forward may become cruel and ugly. China is one of the few nations that export goods via trucks into North Korea (the communists stick together) so coronavirus came along for the ride infecting the secretive nation. South Korea has worked through its horrendous covid wave of misery for the last 3 months but cases are flatlining at 37K cases per day. Taiwan reports over 65K cases yesterday another record high. Australia reports 57.6K daily new cases the most in 5 weeks. Cases creep higher in Malaysia and Singapore. South Africa reports 8.9K cases below the peak for wave 5 thus far at 10K cases on Wednesday but the 7-day MA is at 7.6K cases per day continuing higher. South Africa's wave 5 continues and its direction will impact the world.
Note Added Friday Morning, 5/13/22, at 6:00 AM EST: The US reports 85.8K daily new cases yesterday. Last Thursday was 92.3K cases so it is encouraging that the week on week comparison is less cases. Friday's are usually the big data days of the week and 5/6/22, was 97.6K cases the current peak for wave 7. Thus, if today's cases come in below 97.6K, there will be reason to celebrate. The United States needs to study what is happening up in Canada because their infections have spread southward infecting the northern states. The US 7-day MA for daily new cases is at 83.4K cases per day so if today's cases are below 83.4K it would be a great win. If today's daily cases are above 97.6K, however, wave 7 has got more Legs. Boom. New York reports 14.3K daily new cases a punch to the face the most of the current wave 7 and not seen since January. New Jersey reports a big spike of 6.2K cases the most for wave 7. Florida reports a big 7.8K cases the most for wave 7. You get the picture. The US is sliding down the BA2 covid rabbit hole. The CDC Community Transmission map shows trouble in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Michigan reports nearly 4K cases over the last day the most for the current wave 7 that started 5 weeks ago. The Worldometer daily cases data confirms the concern shown on the CDC Community Transmission map. It is lousy news but always good to see data sets agree. Novavax is ready to administer the vaccine to the public and plans to provide an omicron-specific vaccine by Fall. Novavax is late to the vaccine ball game but some Americans will welcome a conventional vaccine instead of the mRNA serums. After nearly 2-1/2 years of the pandemic, the United States still does not have an efficient conventional COVID-19 vaccine to offer the public (the J&J vaccine was not that effective and has lost favor).

This global misery is spawned from the Wuhan Labs in China. 6.29 million earthlings are dead from China Virus. The world's daily new cases are no longer dropping instead lining-out sideways at 500 to 530 million new infections per day. The new cases dropped under 500 million per day last week but if you blinked you missed it. This is a lousy development since it hints that cases linger in Europe, Asia and North America. On the positive side, 1.6K global citizens died from coronavirus yesterday another low not seen since the start of the pandemic with the trend continuing lower. Cases are sneaking higher in Brazil; not good. Ditto Spain and Portugal. Japan sees another spike in cases over the last few days. China continues doubling and tripling down on its failed zero-covid strategy tightening travel restrictions. Border crossings become more difficult. It is great that the Friday data, which should be the highest of the week, is below both the Wednesday and Thursday numbers. It is bad that the 87.6K cases is above the 7-day MA at 84.6K since this sends the moving average higher. Revisions may slightly alter the picture but for now, the peak of US wave 7 is 5/11/22 and the BA2 Omicron Subvariant outbreak may not be packing much punch. 250 Americans continue dying day after day after day. Four cadets choose to not be vaccinated so the academy may not allow them to graduate and also force them to pay back tuition fees. Sickening. The officials running the academy are control freaks. Kneel before me and lick my shoes, then get vaccinated, and then you can graduate. This is America. Aren't you proud? Any US company would be foolish to not find out the names of the four cadets and hire them immediately. Independent leadership-style minds are hard to come by these days. The US is in the midst of a severe pilot shortage and the *ssholes at the academy are screwing these future pilots because the cadets did not want the mRNA serum inside their bodies. South Africa's wave 5 continues at 8K cases per day. Active cases are at levels not seen since January so South Africa hospitals and clinics are busy. Australia begins a new wave which will be surprising to people since no one is paying attention. New Zealand needs to remain vigilant considering the ongoing headaches in Aussie land. The 7-day MA takes a slight curl downwards (good) to 77.6K cases per day. The US wave 7 peak thus far is 99.3K cases on Wednesday, 5/11/22. This needs to hold. America will be bludgeoned and wave 5 will worsen if cases are above 100K for any day in the week ahead. For now, the positive picture is gaining ground. Case numbers will be subdued for the states on the weekend. New Jersey reports a big 5.2K cases for Saturday an elevated number. Kentucky's cases are moving higher. Illinois reports 8.4K cases on Friday the most for its wave 7. The US BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave is underway but hope remains that its bark is worse than its bite. It is a great ongoing trend since the number one goal in a pandemic is to stop people from dying. Someone needs to tell this to President Biden. South Africa's 7-day MA for daily new cases drops from 7.6K cases per day on Thursday to 7.2K cases per day on Sunday an encouraging sign but several more days of data are needed before it can be shown that the wave 5 daily cases are flattening-out and potentially rolling over to the downside. It will be great news for South Africa and the world if this occurs since it will show that the BA4 and BA5 sublineages do not pack a lot of punch. Eswatini's daily cases are averaging 86 cases per day off the 92 cases per day peak last Wednesday a hopeful sign. People are wearing masks and being careful but continuing on with their lives. The Taiwanese contracting China Virus are exhibiting mild symptoms and hospitals are not overrun. Hospitalizations and deaths remain tiny compared to the daily case numbers, however, there is bad news. Taiwan reports 41 deaths on Saturday and 40 deaths on Sunday the two deadliest days of the entire pandemic. Communist China remains a mess. Officials are starting to panic over the stalled domestic economy as well as the trouble that Xi's lockdowns are creating around the world. There are rumors that the top Politburo officials are disagreeing on how to handle the pandemic. Taiwan has extensively vaccinated its elderly population while China has jabbed only about one-half of their senior population, with subpar vaccines, probably hoping that many will die since they become a burden on a communist society. The nation of Taiwan is smart learning from all the mistakes in America, Europe, Asia and Africa over the last couple years while the CCP dolts insist they can control a highly-contagious pathogen. North Korea goes from the covid frying pan into the all-out virus flames. Over 1 million North Koreans are infected with China Virus (they call it a 'fever') that is spiraling out of control. Dictator Kim Jong-un calls in the military to help handle the pandemic. The subpar hospital system is overrun with patients. Drugs are not getting to pharmacies due to the outbreak. As any dirtbag dictator will do, Kim Jong-un blames his underlings for the mismanagement of the pandemic.
Note Added Monday Morning, 5/16/22, at 4:00 AM EST: The US reports only 21K cases yesterday but it is an expected low Sunday number. The 7-day MA for daily new cases is at 71K cases per day down from the 86K cases per day last Wednesday which is the peak thus far. Some number revisions are decreasing case counts which is good news. It is encouraging that the 7-day MA is curling over but the positive story cannot be told until the case data through Friday is known. US active cases bump along at 1.9 million showing that the wave 7 outbreak is being handled without as many hospitalizations as prior waves. This is a good sign verifying that the virus is becoming more contagious but less deadly, which is expected. US deaths are at 221 souls per day so perhaps America can get below 200 deaths per day soon. The wealthy are not dying since they immediately receive the Paxlovid anti-viral oral pills if testing positive for COVID-19. Many poor and disadvantaged folks do not even know that Paxlovid pills exist. New York's 7-day MA for daily new cases rolls over by a hair to 9.8K cases per day from the 10.4K cases per day peak on Thursday an encouraging sign but do not throw confetti until the data is known through this coming Friday. New Jersey is averaging 4.8K cases per day continuing higher. US wave 7 continues with a pivotal week of data ahead. If the case numbers worsen this week, wave 7 is going to linger for a couple months but if the case numbers for the US can remain below 90K to 100K through Friday, wave 7 is going to fizzle-out like Keystone's stand-up comedy routine on open stage night.
Note Added Monday Morning, 5/16/22, at 4:00 AM EST: US COVID-19 hospital admissions continue higher but at a more gradual pace. US Hospitalizations are at 14.5K covid patients as of last Tuesday. The hospitalizations float higher as per the latest CDC data but not at an alarming rate. This verifies that the people testing positive for the current BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave 7 are not becoming as sick as past waves. This is the expected behavior of a waning virus. New York is at 2,240 covid hospitalizations trying to flatten out. New Jersey is lining out sideways at about 550 patients so hopefully that will continue and decrease. The news is encouraging for the United States that wave 7 may not be a big deal but the daily cases are needed for Monday through Friday to make a proper judgement and forecast. A lot is riding on this week. If wave 7 peters out over then next week or two, that will indicate that the pandemic is definitely into the endemic phase. Where's Fauci?
Note Added Monday Afternoon, 5/16/22, at 1:00 PM EST: Dr Fauci was interviewed on CNN (democrat-run media) yesterday and asked if he would continue on as the Whitehouse chief medical adviser if former President Trump was reelected. Fauci says, "Well, no." Fauci opines that he would not work for Trump again. "If you look at the history of what the response was during the administration, I think, you know, at best you could say it wasn't optimal. I think just history will speak for itself about that." Fauci wants to push the pandemic blame off on others including Trump and of course Trump criticizes Fauci and others for his failings. Fauci complains that Trump promoted hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and his claims were not 'evidence-based' (studies show HCQ and ivermectin are useful pre-treatments and early treatments for COVID-19; once the disease progresses beyond a few days, however, these treatments do not have much merit; note how everyone lies; democrats will slam HCQ and ivermectin calling it snake oil saying it can not treat covid and they are right if the drugs are used after the illness has already progressed; republicans praise HCQ and ivermectin as a treatment but are only correct if the drugs are used as a preventive and early protocol for China Flu; welcome to dishonest and corrupt America where all news is political spin). A major failing of the United States was not performing studies on HCQ and ivermectin over the last 2 years but the reason that was not done is the political dolts, Trump and Biden, were pushing vaccines and did not want any distractions. In addition, the medical community was pushing vaccines and did not want to become involved with studies on other treatments. Emergency approvals can only be given to vaccines if no other treatments exist so there was incentive for officials to only promote vaccines and denigrate all other treatments. Clearly, all sides in the pandemic mess will be pointing fingers at one another for years to come attaching blame for the many missteps and mistakes, however, they are all at fault, as recorded daily, without bias to either corrupt political party, in the Coronavirus Chronology.
Note Added Monday Afternoon, 5/16/22, at 4:40 PM EST: Bloomberg reports that the US is set to extend the COVID-19 public emergency into July. The Biden administration last extended the pandemic emergency on 4/13/22 for 90 days so a decision is due. The emergency declaration allows the government to continue providing benefits such as health services and tests to Americans in need during the pandemic. HHS will likely announce the decision in the days ahead. New York City Mayor Adams urges and recommends people wear masks indoors but it is not a requirement. As explained in the chronology over the last month, New York State is the poster boy for the BA2 Omicron Subvariant wave 7 in America. As New York goes, so goes the other states. New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Florida, and several other states display the same wave 7 behavior for daily new cases as New York State so these are the poster children for BA2.
