Over 600 million people on earth, with a population of 7.67
billion, have been infected with China Virus. One-sixth of the world’s COVID-19
cases to date occurred in the United States (over 95 million infections).
7.8%, or 1 in 13 earthlings, have been stricken with
COVID-19 (600/7670 = 0.078 = 7.8%; hit the 1/x button on your calculator for
the 13). Communist China, ran by the CCP, owes reparations to the entire world
for the once in a century pandemic that likely started when coronavirus escaped
the Wuhan Laboratories.

It is a cumulative chart showing the increase in China Virus cases over the
last 2-1/2 years and the tragic 600 million milestone; maybe millstone would be
a better word. Note the sharp uptick at the start of this year as the BA1
Omicron Variant (B11529 Botswana/South Africa Variant dubbed omicron by the
WHO’s jackass Greek naming system; Keystone showed via charts that B11529 (BA1)
actually started in Zimbabwe) smacked the world silly.
Nearly 6.5 million earthlings have died from China Virus.
0.08% of the world’s population, or 1 in every 1,180 people on the planet, have
croaked from COVID-19 over the last 2-1/2 years (6.5/7670 = 0.0008 = 0.08%). If
you gathered the entire world’s population into little groups of one thousand
people, one person would be plucked from each group to die from COVID-19.
Although the news above is sad and grim, there are brighter
skies ahead. The world and the United States are both in a multi-week downtrend
with daily new and active cases but deaths remain stubbornly elevated moving
sideways. Japan, South Korea and the United States are accounting for 60%, or 2
in every 5 cases, on the planet so the world numbers will improve quickly as
these waves diminish.
The world’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The 7-day
MA is at 727K cases per day moving lower for nearly 4 weeks. There is obviously
a lot more work ahead. There can be no joy until the 7-day moving average drops
below the lows from May and June at 500K to 560K cases per day. Confetti will
be thrown when the world’s 7-day MA for daily new cases falls below 500K
infections per day since it represents a technical breakdown of the chart and
lots more downside would be expected.
The world’s daily deaths chart is shown above. The 7-day MA
staggers sideways at 2.1K deaths per day a terrible number since the pandemic
is over 2-1/2 years along. That is a lot of people that continue dying. The
morgue employees are working overtime in Japan carting the dead bodies out of
nursing homes. Humans are capable of doing better.
The world’s death rate is the lowest since the start of the
pandemic, a good thing, but the deaths have increased for 3 months running. The
global death rate could be cut in half if Japan and the United States can get
their act together. There are too many folks dying from covid in these two
Western nations. It is a scar of incompetence on their medical systems and
pandemic leadership mainly the latter.
Japan’s daily new cases chart is shown above. It is an ugly
chart but the direction forward is positive with the 7-day MA dropping to 190K
cases per day. Japan peaks at over 253K cases on 8/5/22 now 2 weeks in the
rearview mirror. One-quarter of the new COVID-19 cases in the world are
occurring in Japan. The active cases chart has also rolled over heading lower
forming the coveted bell shape to prove that the virus is being defeated so
better days are ahead for Japan.
Japan’s daily deaths chart is shown above and the news is
not good. Japan reports the deadliest day of the pandemic on Thursday, 8/18/22,
at 300 dead covid bodies. That is sad. The BA5 bug is culling the elderly Japanese
population in nursing homes and senior centers. Japan could do far better.
The island nation is facing an aging demographic crisis with
the population becoming too old and the country does not want to open its
borders to foreigners (likely fearing that the population will become ethnically
mixed which is a horrible view to have on life and humanity). Japanese women
are starting to work (since there are not enough employees available to service
the aging population) which is a cultural shock.
Do you think the leaders in Japan care that Uncle Asahi, Grandmother
Ichika and Great Uncle Haruto are in body bags getting carted off to the
morgue? Probably not. It helps Japan’s aging demographic problem. Sonny and
Girly, the world is not a pretty place.
South Korea’s daily new cases chart is shown above. South
Korea reports 2 consecutive days of 180K cases per day the most since April.
The 7-day MA is at 127K cases per day moving higher. About 15% of the planet’s
daily COVID-19 cases are in South Korea.
Russia’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Russia
reports 36K cases for Thursday the most for the current infection wave and not
seen since March. The 7-day MA is over 30K cases per day heading higher.
Dirtbag Dictator Putin should take a break from his Ukraine War and instead
handle the new COVID-19 infection wave. Ruskie deaths from covid ramp higher at
over 60 souls per day.
Hong Kong’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The CCP
took complete control over Hong Kong during the pandemic so it is just another
dirtbag communist city now. Hong Kong reports over 6K cases the most since
March. The 7-day MA is at 5.5K infections per day heading higher.
Hong Kong and greater China, the mainland, remain in bad
shape. The Hainan Island tourist destination remains a mess with tens of
thousands of people in lockdown. Dirtbag Dictator Xi continues the failed
zero-covid strategy in China because to change direction is to fail and failure
displays weakness. A dictator can never show weakness because he will lose
power. Mainland China’s charts are rarely shown in the chronology because the
data is manipulated by the communists (CCP).
The US daily new cases chart is shown above. The US reports
85K cases for Thursday, 8/18/22, and the 7-day MA is also at 85K cases per day
heading lower. The flat-top double-hump wave 7 is different than the other 6
waves that displayed the inverted V pattern. The different omicron subvariants
keep wreaking havoc including BA2, BA275, BA4, BA4.6 and BA5 that extend wave 7
in the sideways profile. BA2 and BA5 are the two main culprits creating the two
humps waves 7a and 7b.
The 7-day MA for US daily cases is trending lower for nearly
a month forecasting better times ahead. The 7-day MA is at lows not seen since
May. The downward path in daily cases, however, is painfully slow worse than
watching paint dry or waiting for a pot to boil. Perhaps the downside pace will
pick up in the week ahead. Is BA5 the last hurrah for the pandemic phase?
The US active cases chart is shown above. The US reports 3.7
million active cases below the 4.1 million peak from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 weeks ago.
This is great news since the coveted bell shape is starting to form but the
active cases had dipped to a 3.6 handle a couple days ago. There needs to be
more downside progress, which there will be, before the bell of happiness can
ring in the official end to wave 7.

continues muddling along sideways at 350 COVID-19 deaths per day. The chart is
a glaring display of President Biden’s incompetence at handling the pandemic. 400
Americans continue dying from China Virus each day obviously not receiving
life-saving treatments such as Paxlovid like the wealthy class.
Such is America that could not have had two worse managers
during a once in a century pandemic; King Donnie Trump, the orange-headed
bloviating carnival clown, and Sleepy Joe Biden, the mumbling and bumbling confused
Alzheimer’s patient.
US wave 7 is on its way out but the path out the door is
very slow. Like Uncle Roy that keeps telling stories as he slowly walks to the
door and is still talking when the door is shut and locked. It is hard to get
rid of Roy and equally difficult to get rid of BA5. Conditions in the US should
continue improving and hopefully the death rate will finally venture lower.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 95.3 million. India is next with 44.3 million total virus cases.
France, Brazil, Germany, UK, South Korea, Italy, Russia, Japan, Turkey, Spain, Vietnam,
Australia, Argentina, Netherlands, Iran and Mexico round out the top 18 worst
nations for total COVID-19 cases. South Korea leapfrogs Italy and Japan
leapfrogs Turkey.
COVID-19 has infected 600 million people worldwide. China
(the CCP) owes reparations to the world for its sick heinous crime against
humanity. 6.47 million people on Earth are dead from the China Flu a grim
statistic. 574 million global citizens have recovered from the virus.
96% (574/600) of the people that become infected with COVID-19
recover in a reasonable time frame. This number was 96% for many weeks, but
then slipped to 95% for a few weeks, now back to 96% so the BA5 bug is nasty
but perhaps dying off.
Worldwide, 1.1% (6.47/600) of the people that are infected
with covid die; 1 in 93 (hit the 1/x button on your calculator). This number
was 1.2% for over a year so slippage to 1.1% in recent months is great news
(less people are dying after they become infected compared to prior waves).
7.8% (600/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 13 people on earth. 0.08%

people on earth died from China Virus over the last couple years.
In the United States, 95.3 million people have been infected
with covid. 1.066 million Americans are dead. 90.6 million Americans have
recovered from coronavirus. This equates to 95% (90.6/95.3) of US citizens recovering
after becoming infected with COVID-19.
In the US, 1.1% (1.066/95.3) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. 1 in every 89 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus die. Thus, if
you are infected with China Virus in the United States, you have about a 1 in
90 chance of dying. 0.3% (1/330) of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is
1 in every 330 Americans over the last 2-1/2 years.
29% (95.3/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid; 1 in every 4 Americans (3.5 to be exact
so call it 2 in 7). It is likely 60%, or even 80% or more, of the US population
has been infected with the omicron and prior bugs and have some level of
natural immunity.
The United States has 16% (95.3/600) of the COVID-19 cases
in the world. 1 in 6 people that become infected with covid on the planet are
Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago, but not so much
in recent months.
The US accounts for 16.5% (1.066/6.47) of the China Flu
deaths in the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are
Americans. Over a year ago, it was 1 in 5 so vaccinations helped.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active
cases chart will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases chart is the
‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and strain on the
medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases chart rolls over
forming the bell shape, the virus is being defeated and healthcare workers can
breathe easier.
The Keystone Model uses the peak in the daily new cases to
forecast the peak and flattening of the active cases curve. The ‘flattening of
the curve’ only pertains to the active cases chart. For communist nations where
the populations must do what they are told or they receive a bullet in their
heads (China), and for smaller authoritarian nations (Eastern European
countries, Africa and Middle East nations), and many Asian nations where
citizens follow government rules without questioning authority (South Korea,
Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand), the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 11 days after the peak in daily new cases.
For the Western countries, such as the US and European
nations, the so-called free societies, the active cases curve will peak, on
average, 28 days after the peak in new cases. It takes about 2 weeks longer for
a free society to tamp down a virus wave than a communist or authoritarian
state because lockdowns are not strictly followed or enforced. As time moves
along, nations become better equipped and experienced to fend off outbreaks so the
time between the daily new cases peak and active cases peak is shortening.
After 2-1/2 years, Western nations are experienced at
handling the virus so the distance between the daily and active cases peaks are
decreasing towards the 11-day distance where the authoritarian and communist
style nations are at that enforce the strict draconian rules to tamp down
infections. Once the majority of the population is either vaccinated or had the
virus, the path forward becomes easier.
All projections below for countries and the US states
continue to use the 11 and 28-day periods for forecasting for consistency. When
the peak in daily new cases occurs, if a subsequent day is within 8% of that
peak top, it is identified as the peak in daily new cases day in reference to
the Keystone Model.
The peak in the daily new cases is easily seen on the bar
charts provided by Worldometer, the CDC and Johns-Hopkins. The daily new cases
bar charts are shown on television news channels with a 7-day moving average
(MA) line which is a smoothing mechanism that identifies the trend.
An update for The Keystone Model is provided since another
10-day period passes and more data and information become available to push the
China Virus story forward. The Coronavirus Chronology identifies the real-time
hotspots occurring around the world and within the United States. The

cases are shown and the projected peaks for active cases are based on the
Keystone Model. The peak and flattening of the active cases curves are
extremely important since it represents the maximum stress on healthcare
workers and the medical systems for that infection wave.
It will take longer for the active cases charts to roll over
to form the bell shape for the troubled nations at the bottom of the list since
they are still experiencing highs and peaks in their daily new cases. On the
positive side, the time between the daily new cases peak and the active cases
peak will likely shorten due to the nature of the omicron subvariants and the
herd immunity at play.
The United States wave 7 is improving peaking almost a month
ago. US wave 7 is diminishing and the active cases are dropping to form the coveted
bell shape. The news is good for the US and worldwide.

The bad country list above becomes shorter with 10 more nations removed because their active cases curves are moving lower; French Guiana, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Turkey Venezuela, Iran, Slovakia, Nepal and Chile.
The COVID-19 hotspots are the United States, parts of Asia
especially Japan and South Korea, some nations in eastern Europe and western
Asia, and Russia. The US and Japan will likely be taken off the list in the
days ahead. The world is looking good with a few exceptions.
Of the 828K daily new cases on the earth Thursday, 208K
cases are in Japan (25%), 178K South Korea (22%), 85K USA (10%), 47K Germany
(6%), 36K Russia (4%) and Italy, France and Brazil are each accounting for 3% of
the COVID-19 cases each day. Germany France and Italy continue reporting robust
case numbers even though they are on the mend.
The numbers can be combined for the desired headlines such
as ‘Nearly 60% of World’s COVID-19 Cases are in Japan, South Korea and United
States’ or ‘76% (3 of 4) of All New China Virus Cases Are in Only 8 Countries’
or ‘Nearly 70% of New COVID-19 Cases are in Japan, South Korea, United States,
Germany and Russia’ or a crowd favorite ‘Nearly 50% of New COVID-19 Cases
Worldwide Are in Japan and South Korea’.
The world is saying goodbye to the omicron bugs and likely
transitioning from the pandemic phase into the endemic phase. Goodbye To You asPatty sings.
76% of the world’s cases are in only 8 countries so the
remaining 24% of daily new cases are in the other 192 nations (there are about
200 countries on earth but the numbers shift as territorial lines are
constantly changing with wars). As the waves peter out in the 8 troubled
nations, the covid clouds will clear and the global picture will brighten
quickly.
The US list below identifies the worst states especially at
the bottom of the list. The peak in daily new cases and projections for the
peaks in active cases are provided as per the Keystone Model.
The flattening and roll over of the active cases curve
forming the bell shape (see US active cases chart above) indicates the virus is
being defeated and the caseload on healthcare workers will quickly improve.
Healthcare workers are not under duress with wave 7 like prior waves but the
caseloads are lingering since April so the smart and pretty nurses, like Nurse
Goodbody, deserve a break, and a massage.
US wave 7 is diminishing so good things are expected in the
days ahead. Wave 7 is unlike the prior 6 waves in its flat topping profile so
it would not be surprising after this lingering near 4-month period for the
active cases to roll over within days of the daily new cases rolling over
(rather than the 28-day period that other US waves followed) and this is
occurring for many states.
August may be the last big month for the COVID-19 pandemic
phase both for the US and the world but Keystone said July was that month so
take the prediction with a big pinch of salt. The United States is improving
and the pace of positivity should increase in the days ahead.

America is on the
mend with heavy-hitters such as Florida and California seeing their active
cases charts roll over to the downside. Also, the worries about the new school
year and COVID-19 are likely overblown. Everything's Coming Up Roses like

18 states are on the
bad list equating to 36% of the states; 1 in 3. Thus, 2 of 3 US states, 32 of
them, display active cases charts that have already rolled over to the downside;
great news. The virus remains active in the Midwest and mid-Atlantic states.
The CDC CommunityTransmission map indicates 34% of the US counties at high risk of infection
(orange), 41% at medium risk (yellow) and 25% at low risk (green). The data is
a few days old for the map but nonetheless the 34% high risk for counties
correlates well to the 36% of states on the bad list above.
The CDC map says
75%, or 1 in 3, US counties are at medium or high risk of COVID-19 infection.
Walk around any grocery store or other public place you would not think so.
Most Americans are walking around maskless not even paying attention to what
the medical talking heads like the CDC, or Lord Fauci, have to say.
It is interesting to
see the swath of orange and yellow on the map from the upper Midwest, the
Dakota’s, and Michigan, Wisconsin, and then down through the mid-Atlantic
states such as Indiana, Virginia and West Virginia, and also into the South
with Kentucky, Alabama and Georgia. Again, the map jives with the bad list
above which is based on daily new cases.
The CDC CommunityTransmission map is based on hospital admissions and the number of beds in use
metrics that only eggheads could develop (how can we make things complicated?).
Always remember the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid). There is no metric
better at forecasting infection wave behavior than daily new cases as the
Coronavirus Chronology has shown and explained during all seven US waves over
the last couple years. Take it from a technical analyst.
The CDC map is an
excellent tool that will be needed for future pandemics but there are two
improvements needed; one, the data needs updated faster and the CDC can remedy
that, and two, people need to know that the map exists. If the CDC asked 10
people about the community transmission map, nine would likely respond with,
“Huh? What map? Who? There’s a map?” Clueless people. A number three can be
added and that would be to ditch the bed and admission stuff as the basis for
the map and instead go with daily new cases.
The CDC and medical
control freaks have a hang-up about daily new cases data saying it does not
reflect what is happening due to home testing. So what? The mathematical trend
will be the same regardless of the number of tests in the hopper. Remember,
with home tests, the number of negative, as well as positive tests, would need
to be known and the result will likely be on the same scale as the available
data show.
The daily new cases
provide the trend which is important in following the progression of the
infection wave. The overall number of cases is not what matters. The trend of
the available data, large data sets or small, will all likely line out about
the same for the same infection wave. The CDC should use daily new cases, or a
percentage change in daily cases, for the community transmission map. This
would simplify things and enable the data and the map to update faster.
The US hospitaladmissions look great curling over to the downside that started about 1-1/2
weeks ago. The admissions for the folks 70 years and older is coming down
nicely but this is not yet reflected in the dead body count. Americans continue
dropping like flies from China Virus the current rate is 350 souls per day.
Hospital admissions
lead US hospitalizations by 3 or 4 days and it is great to see hospitalizations
trending lower at 32K COVID-19 patients. Fantastic. Talking heads on television
are still saying that US hospitalizations are at 40K. Don’t these people ever
look at charts? A 30-second glance at the chart could save a person’s
credibility but folks are lazy these days and figure mediocre work is good
enough.
US hospitalizations
peaked at about 38K, call it 40K if you want, about 2 weeks ago and are moving
lower ever since sinking to 32K patients as of Thursday and probably moving
even lower today. Nurse Goodbody may squeeze in a summer vacation after all.
Keystone gave her several colorful bikini’s on the stipulation that she must
model them so he can help her select the best ones.
The US vaccinationrate sinks to 180K shots per day. Dr’s Fauci, Walensky and Jha are beating the
bushes trying to drum-up interest in booster shots. The jabs are only effective
for 4 or 5 months so the mantra is repeated that ‘if you have not taken a
booster shot this year, get one’. A person with only the initial mRNA jabs is
about as well protected as an unvaccinated person.
The
booster-booster-booster shot is coming this Fall. The CDC is hyping the new
Novavax protein-based vaccine for the folks that want to avoid the new mRNA
technology. It is interesting that a conventional vaccine could not be developed
in a year’s time, the J&J offering was junk, and if Novavax is successful
on a wide scale, which it should be, it would have taken about 2-1/2 years to
develop.
The Whitehouse,
Uncle Joe Biden and the CDC are pimping the vaccines again so of course another
negative news story is provided on ivermectin. HCQ and ivermectin are
preventive and early treatment options for COVID-19 but not effective after the
disease progresses. An ivermectin study from a few months ago was comical in
that people on their China Virus death beds, taking One Last Breath, were given
ivermectin. Of course the patients died and the so-called scientists proclaimed
that ivermectin was not effective. The world is sick and dishonest nowadays.
The Whitehouse
limits its information on First Lady Jill Biden’s ongoing bout with COVID-19.
She continues to test positive. A news release says her symptoms are waning but
it is ridiculous that starting Monday her symptoms were very mild and mid-week
they were very very mild and now they are very very very mild and waning. What
bull sh*t. Just tell the people the truth otherwise trust in the medical
profession will never be restored. The Whitehouse does not want to dwell on the
fact that you get four COVID-19 shots, and you get covid. It’s okay to laugh. It’s
funny.
The United States and
world are on the road to covid redemption and must stay the course. Confetti
cannot be thrown until the world’s cases drop below 500K per day, now over 200k
per day higher, so there is work to do.
US daily new and
active cases should make more substantive progress lower in the week ahead. US
daily new cases are at 85K per day but need to drop near or below 10K per day
to declare an overwhelming victory against COVID-19.
The US and world’s
COVID-19 death rates should begin falling since daily new cases have been
moving lower for a month in the States and 3 weeks for the world. US hospital
admissions started lower about 1-1/2 weeks ago about 2 to 2-1/2 weeks after the
daily new cases peaked. Everything is falling into place.
Everyone wants to
say goodbye, goodnight, farewell, adios, au revoir and auf wiedersehen to the
pandemic as only Lawrence Welk and his singers could decades ago. Good riddance
coronavirus. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. US wave 7 is slowly
diminishing.
Note Added 10:00 PM EST: The FDA approves the new protein-based vaccine from Novavax for emergency use in 12 to 17 year old's. The vaccine has emergency approval for use in adults. CDC Director Walensky will rubber stamp the approval. Why? Denmark has halted vaccinating children for COVID-19. The Biden administration has committed to buying and distributing the Novavax vaccine so they need as many arms as possible. Novavax claims two doses of the vaccine are 90% effective at preventing illness and 100% success at preventing severe illness. Did the success have more to do with COVID-19 not being a serious problem for children unless they have preexisting health problems or suffer from childhood obesity? In addition, it remains an unknown as to how the shots will protect against the new omicron subvariants such as BA5. Like the other vaccines, there is risk of myocarditis and pericarditis (heart inflammation) with four cases occurring during the trial study. The Whitehouse and CDC hope that more Americans will step up for the shots since Novavax is a non-mRNA offering but that is likely wishful thinking. People that are not vaccinated are more prone to remain unvaccinated now especially since the pandemic phase is likely transitioning into the endemic phase (like the seasonal flu). Police are called to remove a 4-year old kid from a California grade school because he did not want to wear a mask. America has become a sick, twisted society. Kids should not be wearing masks in schools; read the studies people. Masks are more about political and government control than virus control.

The 7-day MA trend line for the world's daily new cases drops to 714K cases per day hopefully with a 6-handle on the way. Global covid deaths remain sideways at 2K dead bodies per day. Oh no. Damn. The Japan nightmare continues with over 261K daily new cases on Friday the most infections of the entire pandemic. Terrible news just as Japan was starting to trend lower with daily cases for a couple weeks. 279 Japanese die yesterday and the 7-day MA is parabolic (vertical) at 250 deaths per day. Japan is in trouble. Is there a new variant at play in Japan? Where's the WHO? Are they investigating? Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida tests positive for COVID-19 and is recovering at home. Planned overseas trips are cancelled. Japan has a very high vaccination rate, almost everyone is vaccinated, but nil natural immunity. The new infection waves in Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines are abating perhaps due to the high levels of natural immunity. The waves in these three nations are not a big deal so far and have not gone parabolic. Her isolation ends with the two negative tests and she is heading back to Delaware today. Jill Biden tested positive Monday through Friday that is five consecutive days. She took Paxlovid so now the watch begins for a rebound case and if it shows up it is typically 3 or 4 days after the all-clear so it will be interesting to see if First Lady Jill announces a Paxlovid rebound case with another positive covid test between Wednesday and Friday. Hopefully, she has better luck than her husband.

The United States reports 44K cases on Saturday and 33K on Sunday small weekend numbers that continue the downward trend. US active cases are down to 3.49 million a great sight that needs to continue lower to create the bell shape and prove that BA5 is toast. Note Added Tuesday Morning, 8/23/22, at 4:00 AM EST: Instead of the COVID-19 vaccines, or in addition to the vaccines, the United States needs to pursue nasal sprays with more vigor. The UK and India perform a study on a covid nasal spray, pHOXWELL, that prevents covid infection by 62%. There are a dozen nasal spray offerings in clinical trials around the world currently. The hope with nasal sprays is that they will build mucosal immunity and prevent the person from getting infected with COVID-19 or transmitting the virus to another person (what the vaccines don't do). Nasal sprays may be the ultimate solution in battling COVID-19. Keystone remains unvaccinated throughout the pandemic, going on about life as usual. What's all the fuss about? Gupta says it will probably take three or four doctors to fill Fauci's shoes. That is enough to make you puke. Gag me with a spoon as the Valley Girls would say. To get ahead in the rigged crony capitalism system you must do a lot of *ss-kissing. Fauci and Trump are the lockdown twins. They should have instead focused on the elderly in 2020 that were most impacted by COVID-19. The younger age groups should not have been locked down and most businesses and schools should have remained open. The lockdowns damaged the United States. Perhaps the right call in early 2020 would have been to tell all the folks over 50 or 60 years old to stay home. The pandemic will be analyzed a million different ways over the coming years. Fauci opines that one of his greatest accomplishments was starting the push for vaccines in early 2020. Japan remains under covid duress with the 7-day MA up to 221K cases per day a new record high for the pandemic. Japan was improving for 2 weeks but is now flushed down the covid rabbit hole again. 272 Japanese are dying every day from China Virus the highest death rate of the pandemic. America is finally gaining the upper hand against wave 7. US active cases are down to 3.46 million with the chart continuing to form the bell shape forecasting happier times ahead. 272 Americans are dying from covid each day. The shameful parade of dead bodies are carried past Fauci, Trump, Biden, Walensky, and a host of other politicians and medical officials, none of them good at the jobs. The CDC says, as per their data, that only 7 US states are showing a rise in cases (since their data is slow to update it is probably zero states now). We got wave 7, and the blues, on the run. US hospital admissions continue rolling over to the downside for all ages. US hospitalizations continue lower off the late July peak at near 40K COVID-19 patients now down to 33K patients. The positive hospital numbers will start to factor into the CDC Community Transmission map turning more counties green (but the CDC data is always a few days or week or so behind).
Note Added Wednesday Afternoon, 8/24/22: First Lady Jill Biden tests positive for COVID-19 now experiencing a Paxlovid rebound case. As predicted, the rebound comes right on schedule 3 to 4 days after the second negative test. Jill Biden tested positive with her first bout of China Virus from Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday were negative tests so she ditched isolation and went home to Delaware. Count 3 days from Sunday; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Bingo. Obviously, Paxlovid rebound is far more common than the 2%, 5% and 20% numbers bandied about. The CDC was saying about 5% of the Paxlovid users experience rebound but then started saying about 10%. Some idiots trying to paint a rosy picture, probably Whitehouse staff, said only 2% of Paxlovid users experience rebound. The 20% number comes from doctors treating patients so it is obviously the most reliable number and it may be too low. Both Biden's are Paxlovid rebound cases. Dr Fauci had a Paxlovid rebound case. Ditto comedian Stephen Colbert. Rebound does not appear rare. Confidence will wane in Paxlovid if the people are not told the truth. They can handle it. Does 30%, 40%, or even one-half of Paxlovid users experience rebound? The same amount of Americans will likely take Paxlovid in the future regardless of the rebound percentage so tell people the truth. Good luck to First Lady Jill that is back in isolation. The president plans on wearing a mask around his wife for 10 days; that sounds romantic.
Note Added Wednesday Evening, 8/24/22: The Biden administration is planning a big vaccine booster shot campaign after Labor Day (9/5/22). What for? Americans know where they stand on vaccines after 2-1/2 years of a pandemic and a glitzy campaign with bold colors, songs by pop starts that want attention, or more web sites to visit, is not going to cut the mustard. Americans have moved on from the pandemic like it or lump it. People do not even wear masks where they should and no one scolds anyone anymore like the initial days of the pandemic. If you want to wear a mask, that's cool, go for it, but if not, that's fine, too. If Biden opens up a bunch of mobile vaccination sites, tell the nurses to get ready to hear a bunch of crickets as they watch tumbleweeds roll by. With wave 7 ending, many Americans may consider vaccines to be passe, like heroin. The medical talking heads say the next generation booster shots from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna will protect against a winter surge. That gets your attention. The population did not have any natural immunity and the vaccinations are not effective against the omicron strains. South Korea is up to 129K cases per day with the infection wave worsening. Hong Kong reports 7K daily new cases yesterday with its wave worsening. Sunak says it was a mistake to give power to the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) during the pandemic. He was against closing schools but no one else spoke up. Everyone wants to sound like a hero when they are running for office. Next, he will be promising a chicken in every pot. The Jerusalem Post reports on a Clalit Health Services study of 30K individuals that says Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir) reduces deaths by 81% and hospitalizations by 73% in those 65 years old and older. The bad news in the study is that Paxlovid did not provide a measurable benefit for those from 40 to 65 years old. Did these folks simply recover on their own? If so, it would be good news. The study is based on data. EARLY TREATMENT is the key to overcoming COVID-19. If you test positive, you must immediately seek care, treatments and therapies. Every hour counts. The WHO reports that 99% of the new covid cases worldwide are omicron variants and 74% are BA5.
Note Added Thursday Morning, 8/25/22, at 6:00 AM EST: The US reports 77K daily new cases for Tuesday another great number continuing the positive path forward and the beat-down of wave 7. The US death rate is at 312 Americans per day stubbornly refusing to break that 3 hundo level with initiative. The daily cases are in retreat for a month so the US death rate should begin dropping despite receiving no help from incompetent President Biden that has either been sick with covid or on vacation for the last month.

Comically, in a Fox News (republican-run media but he is interviewed by Cavuto who tries to appear only right of center) spot, Fauci says he never advocated for lockdowns or shutting-down anything in 2020. The problem for Fauci is that it is documented on videotape. Fauci and Trump are the lockdown twins; Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber. Florida Governor DeSantis, the likely republican favorite to run for president in 2024 as Donnie's star fades, goes over the top on Dr Fauci firing both barrels. DeSantis stands on a soapbox proclaiming, "I'm just sick of seeing him (Fauci). I know he says he's gonna retire. Someone needs to grab that little elf and chuck him across the Potomac!" Wow. That is an intense comment. As they say in these parts in southwestern Pennsylvania, "Those are fightin' words." DeSantis should not have made the childish comment. People are not happy with the medical establishment's handling of the pandemic, so anger is directed at all medical folks nowadays. Society has become sick where every news bite is filtered through either the republican lens or the democrat lens instead of people thinking what is good for the country as a whole. This is why the majority of people registering to vote are independents these days not wanting to attach themselves to one of the two infected political parties. Note Added Monday Morning, 8/29/22, at 5:30 AM EST: The vaccine makers, Big Pharma, and the FDA are ready to approve the COVID-19 booster shots for this Fall but human testing is not completed. The pubic will become more skeptical of vaccines as authorities keep saying the shots are safe but basing the conclusion on mice studies rather than rigorous human studies. As they say in the Bronx, "good luck wit dat." The US vaccination rate falls to 142K shots per day slipping below the March and July 2022 lows and the lowest US vax rate since the vaccination program started in December 2020. That is a surprising and telling statistic. The US government has lost the vaccination message. Biden will be carted out this month to receive his fifth shot, the booster-booster-booster, and tell everyone to do the same. Few will be listening. The majority of Americans already consider COVID-19 to be like the seasonal flu. Regular flu deaths are from 12K to 52K per year as per the CDC so averaging that over an entire year is 34 to 142 deaths per day. However, since regular flu is mainly a six-month thing, averaging the regular flu data over 6 months is 68 to 284 deaths per day (176 deaths per day on average). Thus, when the China Flu deaths in the United States drop below 200 souls per day, that will be comparable to regular flu deaths. Now that US wave 7 is in retreat with daily new and active cases falling, as well as hospital admissions and hospitalizations (now at 33K covid patients but a CDC spokesperson said yesterday US hospitalizations are down to 32K (the data is always several days old)), the US death rate should start lower. Deaths are always the last domino to fall.
