The COVID-19 infections worldwide and in the United States
are unfortunately bumping higher. It is disappointing news after many weeks of
decreasing cases and the pandemic transitioning into the endemic phase. Not
anymore. The pandemic wants everyone to know that it is still sitting on the
living room sofa and not going anywhere.
For many weeks, the United States daily new covid cases,
active cases, hospital admissions, hospitalizations and deaths were all heading
lower towards the endemic goal line but Thanksgiving is a game-changer. US
COVID-19 infections (cases) are rising, active cases are flat but will likely
lift higher, hospital admissions pop dramatically higher for those 50 years old
and older, hospitalizations jump from 19K to 25K covid patients over the last
week, and deaths continue lower but at a slower pace. It is frustrating and
disappointing.
The China Virus infections in the US are rising after the
Thanksgiving Day Thursday to Sunday holiday weekend of fun, parties and
shopping among crowds. The joy ends with a positive covid test. The tryptophan
drowsiness is long gone as the covid infections rise slapping America in the
face. Turkey and stuffing spread virus.
The potential US wave 8 has been on a milk carton (missing)
so far this Fall but may be starting to show its ugly face. The covid
incubation period is 4 to 14 days, some focus on 4 to 10 days, and the
Coronavirus Chronology has found 8 days after an event to be a sweet spot for
new infections. Yesterday, Friday, 12/2/22, is the eighth day after
Thanksgiving Day.
The United States reports 56K daily new covid cases for
Wednesday the most cases in 2-1/2 months; not good. 42K cases are reported for
Thursday. There was a lot of kissing, hugging, squeezing and comingling going
on a week ago, and now it is time to pay the covid piper for this simple human
pleasure. The Thanksgiving Day holiday is centered around visiting grandma and
grandpa.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 has evolved into a “Pandemic of the
Elderly” around the world as the Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza holidays draw
near. Poor Grandma. And she got ran over by a reindeer, walking home from ourplace yesterday.
90% of the US covid deaths are Americans 65 years old andolder. The KFF data shows that 60% of the current US covid deaths arevaccinated people and 40% are unvaccinated people. That is interesting but keep
in mind that 20% of the US population is unvaccinated and 80% have taken one
shot or more (there is a bigger pool of vaccinated people that are available to
die versus unvaccinated).
Most of the celebrities and politicians contracting COVID19
are older these days. Former President Clinton, Slick Willie, is sick with
COVID-19 right now despite being vaccinated and boosted out the wazoo. The
doctors may also want to check him for STD’s.
In Japan, the elderly are dropping like flies as the
government slow-walks a response. In China, the CCP is likely hoping that
COVID-19 culls much of the elderly population since the older folks are viewed
as a burden to society. The world is not a pretty place, boys and girls.
COVID-19 is no longer the “pandemic of the unvaccinated,”
and actually never was; the phrase was a catch-line to promote vaccinations.
China Virus is now the “pandemic of the elderly.”
Let’s take a look at the United States charts first and then
the world. The US daily new cases chart is shown above. The daily cases were in
a steady downturn but the bump higher in infections due to the Thanksgiving Day
holiday are concerning. There is no reason to panic yet.
As mentioned above, the bump higher in US infections after
Thanksgiving has started. Pray that it is a small short-lived bump. It is good
news that Thursday’s daily new cases at 42K are nowhere near the 56K cases
reported on Wednesday.
Further, the initial number reported for Thursday was 55K
cases and the revisions over the next hours only bump the number 1K higher.
When nasty infection waves begin, the revisions to daily cases numbers begin
coming in fast and furious so a many thousand bump higher in the Thursday and
Friday cases would be occurring if the infection wave is bad but it is not so
far.
The 7-day MA for US cases is at 38K cases per day sideways
with a sideways-up bias; not good. The moving average trendline spent several
days in the low 20K’s cases per day but alas, America is temporarily blown out of
the water by the new Thanksgiving covid cases.
The expectation is for a subtle bump higher in daily cases
due to the holiday fun but the US herd immunity (vaccinations plus natural
immunity) should hold up well going forward. Friday’s cases, to be known
tomorrow due to the 2-day lag, are key since the Wednesday and Friday cases are
typically the highest of each week.
Friday’s cases need to be below 56K and preferably below the
42K which would paint a rosy picture ahead. Cases above 42K will indicate more
trouble and angst for the days ahead and if Friday’s cases are above 56K, the
US is going to descend back into covid Hell for a while.
The US active cases chart is shown above and the curve is
flatter than a newlywed’s souffle. Sideways is better than up. The US active
COVID-19 cases have flatlined through 1.3 to 1.4 million for the last 5 weeks.
The United States is not placed back on the bad country list below since the
active cases curve has not curled higher yet. This will not remain the case if
daily cases continue higher.
Obviously, the US active cases need to drop out of the 1.3
to 1.4 million sideways range and print a 1.2 handle. That will be a happy day.
A move higher to 1.5 million breaking out of the range to the upside means
COVID-19 trouble for the next couple months. The potential US wave 8 has been
hiding in the bushes with the BQ variants and they now become more brazen
starting to kick-in the back door scaring Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty huddled behind
the pantry door.
The US daily new deaths chart is shown above. 203 Americans
continue dying from COVID-19 each day while President Biden and visiting French
President Macron drink expensive wine and enjoy caviar at a black-tie dinner at
the Whitehouse. Macron and Biden are likely sharing a laugh after they
simultaneously utter the same Marie Antoinette quote, “Let them eat cake.”
On the positive side, 2 hundo covid deaths per day compares
back to the start of the pandemic so it must be kept in perspective. The only
saving grace of the lingering pandemic is that COVID-19 kills less people
nowadays (as long as a new more lethal strain does not appear).
The New York State daily new cases chart is shown above. New
York reports a big 8.6K daily new cases for Thursday. That will get your
attention. The 7-day MA ramps higher at 5.6K cases per day; it was at 4.4K
cases per day for the last few weeks so New York is experiencing the
Thanksgiving Day pop.
New York has been reporting from 4K to 6K cases for many
months which hints at a data problem. The cases for all the other large states
fell to the 1K to 2K range so perhaps there is a problem or confusion in New
York on what to call a covid case, or maybe there is a monetary incentive to
identify covid cases, or perhaps reporting steady elevated cases allows the
state government to maintain control, or the data is correct which is the least
likely choice.
Alabama’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Alabama
reports 1.1K daily new cases and the 7-day MA is ramping higher at 500 cases
per day. Granted, it is small numbers but sometimes small numbers grow into big
numbers. The Thanksgiving holiday infections are popping-up everywhere.
US hospital admissions for COVID-19 take a turn for the
worse with more people falling victim to turkey legs and cranberry sauce. Covid
hospital admissions spike higher after the holiday a dreadful sight. Families
went over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house only to
infect poor grandma.
The hospital admissions charts are a ghastly sight with the
curves curling sharply higher for the 50 years old and older crowd. It is, all
together now, a “Pandemic of the Elderly.”
US COVID-19 hospitalizations also blow-up in our faces
popping from 19K covid patients up to 25K in the last 11 days. Hopefully,
grandma and grandpa will pull through but they do not know that the anti-viral
oral pill regimen Paxlovid is available. Well, maybe instead they will be one
of the 2 hundo dead covid bodies per day. Biden, the Whitehouse staff, CDC, NIH
and other medical folks are sleeping on the job.
The CDC Community Transmission map is mostly green (low-risk
for covid infection) but there is no sugar-coating the worsening picture. The
map uses hospital beds as one of the metrics.
94% of the map is green or yellow with 6% the high-risk
orange color. 11 days ago, 97% of the counties on the map were to the good
(green and yellow) and only 3% orange. We’re going the wrong way after our
Turkey Day fun. The orange needs to turn to yellow so the endemic phase can
begin.
The CDC map and Keystone’s information match which is always
a good thing. Keystone’s information is always ahead of the CDC. It is not
surprising that the methodologies correlate since the CDC’s calculations for
the map include daily cases but other fancy metrics like hospital beds are also
factored into the map. The CDC does not need all that complication. There is no
better tool for forecasting infection waves than the daily new cases. Keep it simple,
stupid (KISS Principle).
Note the big orange blotch on Navajo Nation in northwestern
New Mexico, northeastern Arizona, southeastern Utah and southwestern Colorado.
Hey *ssholes at the fancy-schmancy Whitehouse dinner party, put down the caviar
and wine and help the Native Americans in Navajo Nation.
The US vaccination rate is pitiful dropping to about 250K
shots per day. Since China Virus infections are rising after the Thanksgiving
holiday and wave 8 is knocking at the front door and peeking through the
window, interest in the vaccinations and boosters may increase over the coming
days and few weeks.
The world’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The news
is lousy and frustrating especially after many weeks of improvement. Keystone
wants to put the Coronavirus Chronology to bed with a final article (isn’t
nearly 100 articles enough already!) but the pandemic lingers and will not
release him from the 3-year self-imposed task chronicling the never-ending COVID-19
tragedy.
The world reports 495K daily new cases for Thursday a
terrible number the only good thing is that it is not over 500K but tomorrow is
another day. The 7-day MA for the world’s daily new cases is 446K cases per day
ramping higher. It is depressing seeing the world’s daily new cases chart head
higher again starting a new wave 10 of misery.
The world’s daily new deaths charts is shown above. The
COVID-19 death rate worldwide is 1.2K souls per day maintaining a downward
bias. The question is if the death rate will continue lower in the face of the
new infection wave 10 rearing its ugly head.
It would be fantastic news if the global death rate
continues lower in the face of any new infection waves since this behavior
would signal loud and clear that the endemic phase is in play and the pandemic
is over. For now, the funeral directors and casket makers dance with glee in
the light of the full moon. Embalming fluid and cremation urns remain hot items
during the pandemic.
China’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Keystone does
not like to display China’s chart since the communist’s data can never be
trusted. The actual cases are likely 3 to 5 times higher or more than the 4.2K
reported on the chart.
Further confusing the matter, China separates out
symptomatic and asymptomatic cases and does not count infections or deaths once
the person is placed into a concentration camp, er isolation facility. The
communists purposely make it confusing so they can always claim that things
look better than your lying eyes indicate.
Interestingly, the first article for the Coronavirus
Chronology 95 articles ago in early 2020 displayed the China infection chart (the
left side of the chart above). Isn’t that something? Time flies when you’re
having fun.
All that said, the trend and behavior for the China chart is
useful and independent of the actual magnitude of cases. In other words, the
shape of the infection waves on the chart would be similar no matter the
reporting methodology. China’s current infection wave is its worse to date.
China reports 4.2K daily new cases for Thursday (again, the
numbers are far higher if the communists told the truth) and the 7-day MA is at
3.9K cases per day going parabolic. The CCP is trying to pare back the
lockdowns and other covid restrictions because the natives are getting
restless, but the chart is showing cases on the increase; not a good
combination.
China’s peak thus far is 4,288 daily new cases on 11/30/22
so the 12/7/22 cases, to be known on 12/9/22, will provide valuable insight for
the path ahead. It is encouraging that 2 days have passed with the 11/30/22
peak remaining in place but this must hold through next week to prove that the
daily new cases have topped out for communist China.
Japan’s daily new cases chart is shown above. It is an ugly
one. 25% of the new COVID-19 cases worldwide each day, 1 in 4, are occurring on
the island of Japan. 118K daily new
cases occur in Japan on Thursday and the 7-day MA is parabolic at 111K cases
per day a terrible sight. The peak for the current infection wave is over 138K
cases on 11/30/22 so, like China, the 12/7/22 cases will be an important
comparison number to see if Japan can turn the corner.
Japan’s covid death rate is parabolic at 163 bodies per day
keeping the crematoriums busy. COVID-19 is culling the elderly populations in China
and Japan. In China, the communists simply toss the bodies into the
incinerators and do not count the deaths. China Virus is a pandemic of the
elderly. Where have I heard that before?
Brazil’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Brazil
reports 32K daily new cases for 12/1/22 and the 7-day MA is at 27K cases per
day ramping higher; not good. The peak day thus far is 40.9K cases on 11/25/22
so the cases on 12/2/22, yesterday, to be known tomorrow morning, will tell the
tale on Brazil. The cases need to come in below 40.9K to indicate that the
chart is topping-out. We will know tomorrow morning if Brazil’s new infection
wave has legs or not.
France’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Sacrebleu! A
new infection wave is underway in France. The pandemic is sickening lingering
on like stink on sh*t. France is a covid mess again mainly due to the FIFA
World Cup. Fans are out in force packing cafes cheering, shouting, yelling,
spitting, coughing, wheezing, sneezing, hugging, kissing, crying, laughing and spreading
virus.
France reports 69K cases for Friday an ugly number and the
7-day MA is at 55K cases per day ramping higher. 15%, or 1 in 7, new covid
cases are in France. 40% of the new COVID-19 infections worldwide, 2 in every
5, are in Japan and France. Don’t come to the cabaret my ole chum.
France’s peak day is 92K cases on 11/29/22. Thus, the cases on
12/6/22 are key and will not be known until the morning of 12/8/22. China Virus
likes to linger in central Europe. It must be attracted to the wine, baguette
and cigarettes.
Peru’s daily new cases is shown above. Peru reports a big
14K daily new cases for the last 2 days (11/30/22 and 12/1/22) and the 7-day MA
is up to 8.8K cases per day; not good. The omicron variants first attacked Chile,
that is now recovering, then Brazil, now Peru and Colombia and Central America.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 100.8 million. India is next with 44.7 million total virus
cases. France, Germany, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Italy, UK, Russia, Turkey, Spain,
Vietnam, Australia, Argentina, Netherlands, Taiwan, Iran, Mexico, Indonesia,
Poland and Colombia round out the top 22 worst nations for total COVID-19 cases. Over the last 11 days, Japan leapfrogs both
Italy and UK.
COVID-19 has infected 649.5 million people worldwide. China
(the CCP) owes reparations to the world for its sick heinous crime against
humanity. 6.65 million people on Earth are dead from the China Flu a grim
statistic. 626.8 million global citizens have recovered from the virus.
96.5% (626.8/649.5) of the people that become infected with COVID-19
recover in a reasonable time frame. The percentage remains steady for many
months. Worldwide, 1.0% (6.65/649.5) of the people that are infected with covid
die; 1 in 98 (hit the 1/x button on your calculator).
8.5% (649.5/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 12 people on earth. 0.09%
of the world’s population (6.65/7670) died from the pandemic so far; 1 in every
1,153 people on earth died from China Virus over the last couple years.
The latest census data shows that the world has crossed the
8 billion population milestone but the Coronavirus Chronology will continue
using the 7.67 billion number for calculations to remain consistent. With a
little luck, Keystone’s 3-year Coronavirus Chronology writing journey may end soon.
In the United States, 100.8 million people have been
infected with covid. 1.107 million Americans are dead. 98.2 million Americans have
recovered from coronavirus. This equates to 97.4% (98.2/100.8) of US citizens recovering
after becoming infected with COVID-19. Those are good odds. Most of the
COVID-19 deaths are old or fat people and heaven help you if you are old and
fat. COVID-19 is now a pandemic of the elderly.
In the US, 1.1% (1.1/100.8) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. 1 in every 91 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus die. 0.3% (1/330)
of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in every 303 Americans over the
last 34 months.
30.6% (100.8/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid. That is almost at 1 in every 3 Americans.
The latest data and commentaries estimate about 80% of the US population has
been infected with COVID-19 over the last 34 months (many positive tests and
illnesses are not reported and some people did not know they had covid).
The United States has 16% (100.8/649.5) of the COVID-19
cases in the world. 1 in 6 people that become infected with covid on the planet
are Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago, but not
so much in recent months.
The US accounts for 16.5% (1.1/6.63) of the China Flu deaths
in the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are Americans.
A couple years ago, it was 1 in 5 so vaccinations helped.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,

cases (bell-curve) chart will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases

China remains in covid trouble. Dictator Xi and the CCP are easing COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions but the jury remains out on whether it will calm the masses. Infections are increasing so the timing of the new rules are questionable. Chinese folks are fed-up with the daily covid testing that dictates the color on your smartphone and access to stores and other facilities. Chinese people remain in fear that someone will receive a positive test and a store will be locked down. In China, you can leave home to run errands and not return.
Indonesia is taken off the bad country list because its
active cases have rolled over to the downside at least that is one morsel of
good news in a covid sea of misery.
The United States is not on the bad country list because the
active cases curve is flat. However, with daily new cases potentially rising
due to Thanksgiving, the active cases will rise and sadly, the US will have to
be added to the bad list. For now, the hope is that the Thanksgiving infections
will be a small bump higher in cases that are short-lived.
14 countries on the bad covid list is worrisome but there
are another 7 countries that are poised to be added since their active cases
curves may be on the verge of rising (daily cases are already rising); Germany,
Austria, Romania, Slovenia, Mexico, Ecuador and Qatar. Mexico cases sneak
higher which are likely creating the rise in cases at the Arizona and Texas
borders.
There are 21 (14+7) nations sinking into the covid quagmire.
It is a shame because the pandemic worldwide and in the US was moving towards
the endemic phase. The US can be considered in that group in the previous
paragraph so let’s call it 22 nations that are trying to keep the covid monster
at bay.
France, Italy and Germany went downhill in concert with the
increased parties, activities and social interaction during the FIFA World Cup.
However, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands and Belgium are not experiencing new
infection waves so why is the covid stink lingering around central Europe? Is
it something more than the FIFA partying?
The United States bad list below has expanded now that the
Thanksgiving Day infections are adding up. The next few days will dictate the
path ahead for America into 2023. The Navajo Nation outbreak continues as well
as infections with migrants crossing the southern border that keep the cases
elevated in New Mexico and Arizona.

The cases are clustered in the Rust Belt, the Midwest, the South and the southwestern states with New York by itself. The 15 states show rising active cases curves to earn a spot on the bad list.
16 other states show daily new cases rising but the active
cases curves have not yet started higher including California, New Jersey, New
Hampshire, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, West Virginia, Alabama,
Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, and
Montana.
Thus, 31 (15+16) states show rising daily new cases and 15 of
those states display active cases rising; not good. There was obviously too
much fun occurring on Thanksgiving Day and the holiday weekend. Coronavirus was

The holiday fun, talking, singing, cheering, sneezing, coughing, hugging,
kissing, hand-shaking and nose-picking results in covid infections one week later.
Some states are now on a weekly data reporting schedule
adding another layer of pandemic complexity. On the Mr Brightside, the pop in
cases in many states listed above remain relatively small numbers coming off
very low bases.
52% of the cases the last couple days are in only 4 states;
New York (20%), California (11%), Illinois (11%) and Texas (10%). 1 in 5 new
COVID-19 cases in America are in New York State. These 4 states dictate the
path ahead for the United States. It is disappointing and concerning that the
southern states (Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and
Missouri) are now seeing a bump higher in cases.
Since the Thanksgiving holiday is clearly creating a new
batch of infections, the coming days will dictate if wave 8 becomes official.
With 15 states on the bad list and 16 more in the wings, it looks like wave 8
is a given but let the week ahead play out because the bump in cases may be a
pig in a poke. America’s herd immunity is tested. Will it pass or fail?
The Coronavirus Chronology is using 8 metrics to assess the
pandemic to endemic transition. (1) The world’s daily new cases should be below
360K per day to claim endemic status and cases are now at 446K per day. (2) The
world’s daily new deaths should be below 1.3K per day and they are 1.2K so this
is a win for the endemic phase.
(3) For the United States to be in the endemic phase, the
daily new cases should be below or around 10K cases per day and are now at 38K
per day. (4) US active cases should be below 730K cases (at least below 1
million) now at 1.3 to 1.4 million. (5) The US COVID-19 death rate should be
below 180 bodies per day now at about 200 souls per day.
(6) To declare the endemic phase in America, US
hospitalizations should drop below 10K patients and are now at 25K (jumping
higher from 19K over the last week). (7) The CDC Community Transmission map
should turn completely green and yellow to usher in the endemic phase and 94%
of US counties meet these criteria with 6% remaining in the high-risk orange zone.
The map has deteriorated over the last 11 days.
(8) Lastly, the public needs to accept that the pandemic is
over and this is already in the endemic column since most Americans have
resumed their normal lives and ignore the COVID-19 news.
There is a lot more work to do to declare the endemic phase.
Only 2 of the guidelines are in the endemic phase and 6 remain in the pandemic
phase. There is no progress over the last month in fact the US and world are
losing ground in the pandemic to endemic fight.
As per the CDC’s variant proportions data, BA5 is down to 14%
of the new COVID-19 cases in the US. BQ11 is at 32% edging out BQ1 at 31%. 11
days ago, BQ1 was leading BQ11 so the juxtaposition is interesting. Keystone
uses a ten-dollar college word.
Taking the BQ’s together account for 63%, two-thirds, or 2
of every 3, new covid cases in the United States. During the Thanksgiving
holiday, the BQ11 and BQ1 strains are dominating.
BF7 is at 6% of the cases when 11 days ago it was 8% so its
portion of the rancid covid pie is diminishing. BN1 is steady at 5%. BA46 drops
from 4% to 2%. BA526 is steady at 2%.
It is good news that the lesser variants are holding pat and
not flexing their muscles. The pandemic game in America comes down to the BQ11
and BQ1 cases that will appear over the coming days.
The HHS warns that hospitals and healthcare facilities and workers
are under strain due to the tripledemic of regular flu, RSV and COVID-19. The
regular flu hospitalizations explode higher to almost 80K which is about 3 times
the covid hospitalizations at 25K. The RSV hospitalizations are somewhere in
the middle. Medical officials say the flu outbreak is at record levels for this
early in the season.
A mask study from the Annals of Internal Medicine may be a
Rorschach test for the different pandemic players. The study indicates that
there is no statistically difference between N95 and surgical masks. Masks do
not stop the transmission of virus. Others say the medical masks offer similar
effectiveness as N95’s. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Billionaire Elon Musk is releasing information in Twitter’s files
about censoring people and organizations during the pandemic. Keystone and the
Coronavirus Chronology is surely on the lists somewhere. The chronology has
been continually harassed and shadow-banned and smoked by algorithms for the
last couple years. Powerful people snuff you out if they do not like what you
say.
The outbreaks in Asia (China, including Hong Kong, Japan and
South Korea) should peak-out in the coming days or week or two which will
greatly help reduce the world’s cases. The world needs the daily cases to roll
over for Brazil, a few other South and Central American nations, France, Italy,
Germany and the United States.
It is disheartening and disappointing that the COVID-19 infections
are rising worldwide including in the United States since great progress was
being made pushing the pandemic towards the endemic phase. The bumps in daily cases
worldwide remain manageable and the hope is that the mini-infection cycle will
be short-lived.
You know folks, someday this pandemic is going to end.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 12/4/22, at 4:00 AM EST: The world reports 430K daily new cases for Friday and the 7-day MA is at 433K cases per day moving higher. 1,171 earthlings are dying every day from COVID-19. China's daily new cases remain at record levels so it will be interesting to see if any covid restrictions are eased or if the CCP was only providing lip service to the hundreds of thousands of protesters across the mainland. Japan's covid mess continues reporting 110K cases on Friday and the 7-day MA is up to 108K cases per day ramping higher. Japan's active covid cases are over 4.3 million so 3-1/2% of the population, 1 in every 29 Japanese, are being treated by the healthcare system for China Virus. 166 Japanese continue dying from COVID-19 each day and the death rate has gone parabolic. The culling of the elderly continues. South Korea continues to make progress with its infection waves with daily new cases flatlining at 53K per day and the active covid cases now starting to flatten. Good news from Brazil reporting 39.3K cases for Friday and that is below the 40.9K peak on 11/25/22 the prior Friday. The 7-day MA ramps higher at 27K cases per day but Brazil is likely topping-out with daily cases going forward. While President's Biden and Macron dine on caviar and wine at the Whitehouse, France reports 59K daily new cases for Friday and the 7-day MA ramps higher at 55K cases per day; not good. France's path forward will be known on Thursday morning when the 12/6/22 cases are released. Italy's data continues to lag with daily cases at about 35K per day. Oh for Pete's sake! Australia reports a big 19K daily new cases for Friday and the 7-day MA ramps higher at 14K cases per day. The land Down Under cannot shake-off the current infection wave. Peru's infection wave is taking off like a rocket reporting 13K cases for Friday and the 7-day MA is going parabolic at nearly 10K cases per day.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 12/4/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The US reports 33K daily new cases for Friday an encouraging number. Wednesday was 56K cases and Thursday was 45K cases revised up from the initial report of 42K cases. It is not good that Thursday was bumped up by 3K of revisions but nothing to get worked up about. Wednesday's and Friday's are usually the highest data days of the week so a 33K number for Friday is great since it could have been 45K, 60K or even higher. An 8-day incubation period is a sweet spot for cases to show up after an event and this was Friday so to see the 33K number rather than something wildly higher is great news. The most cases thus far are the 56K that hit 6 days after Thanksgiving Day. Maybe the incubation periods of new variants are a couple days shorter than the previous COVID-19 bugs? The 7-day MA is at 36K cases per day no biggie. You do not want to jinx it but the Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend may only result in a subtle bump higher in US cases for a few days that will recede lower in short order. The covid picture for the United States looks a whole lot better now than yesterday but the week ahead will have to play out. New York reports a big 8.2K daily new cases rivaling Thursday's cases at 8.6K. What is going on in New York? The democrat Hochul lady won reelection as governor of New York and 25% of the new China Virus infections in the US are in her state; 1 in 4. If that is what the people want, go for it. New York State sticks out like a sore thumb with COVID-19 case numbers far higher than comparable states over the last year. Of course, a lot of folks fly into New York and interact but for the consistently large numbers of covid cases, relative to all other states, indicates that New York is likely overreporting its COVID-19 cases. Never try to fool a mathematician since the truth is always in the numbers. Covid testing may be another reason for the large New York cases numbers for months on end? Are the tests and/or labs spewing out false positives? New York State Health Commissioner Mary Bassett announces her resignation. Beat it, jackass. Your state accounts for 1 in every 4 new COVID-19 cases in America! What were you doing? Drinking coffee and focusing on woke stuff? Get lost. As the mid-term election showed, Americans want competent managers in charge of government not stupid people.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 12/4/22, at 6:00 AM EST: Fortune.com reports on a UK study that says COVID-19 can survive on groceries for several days. Scientists found that covid virus can linger on food products at the grocery store for many hours even days depending on temperature and other factors. That was the big scare when the pandemic started in 2020. Folks were worried about contracting China Virus from cardboard and delivery packages. Most world citizens have decided to live with the virus and pay little attention to the covid information anymore.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 12/4/22, at 7:00 AM EST: Basketball star Jeremy Lin, that played for the New York Knicks years ago, is fined by the Chinese Basketball Association, that is obviously controlled by the filthy CCP, for making disparaging comments about China's quarantine facilities. Lin plays for the Guangzhou Loong Lions. Negative comments about the government are never tolerated in a communist society. Lin must kneel and kiss Emperor Xi's feet. China continues refusing to buy American mRNA vaccines. Japan's 7-day MA takes the first tick lower from 107K cases per day to 102K cases per day an encouraging sign. South Korea is averaging 53K cases per day moving sideways but the expectation is that this week will begin a move lower. China (including Hong Kong) remains between a rock and a hard place wanting to reopen the economy but COVID-19 infections remain elevated at about 30K cases per day for the last couple weeks countrywide (the chart above uses a different case-count methodology with the cases remaining elevated at 4.3K per day). Australia's infection wave continues at 12K cases per day. Prime Minister Albanese tests positive for covid for the second time this year. France's infection wave continues at 55K cases per day. New Zealand's infection wave worsens reporting nearly 5K cases for the last 2 days with the 7-day MA ramping higher at 4.8K cases per day. Peru's infection wave is parabolic at over 10K cases per day. Brazil is averaging 28K cases per day but the expectation is for a leveling-out of the cases this week.
Note Added Monday Morning, 12/5/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The US is averaging 34K cases per day. The coming days will indicate the extent of the Thanksgiving holiday infections and if a wave 8 wants to make an appearance, or not. Chinese hackers have stolen $20 million in US COVID-19 benefits. There are rumors that the vaccine mandate may be lifted for the military although the top brass says no.
Note Added Monday Afternoon, 12/5/22: Epidemiologist Dr Andrew Huff, a US-based scientist that worked at the Wuhan Labs in China, is hawking a new book, "The Truth About Wuhan." Huff had worked for EcoHealth Alliance which was the middle man between the NIH/NIAID, Dr's Collins/Fauci, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology, handling the gain of function experiments. Huff says the Wuhan Labs were performing gain of function research with lax security and the virus leaked. Huff writes, "China knew from day one that this was a genetically engineered agent." It is bombshell news requiring further investigation.
Note Added Monday Evening, 12/5/22: CDC Director Walensky is telling everyone to take the flu and COVID-19 shots and mask-up for protection against the flu, RSV and covid respiratory viruses. It's fine that Walensky is still hawking masks from the back of the Whitehouse carnival wagon, but the studies show masking provides minimal or marginal protection against viruses at best. By all means, mask up if you want to or it makes you feel comfortable, wear 4 masks, but do not tell others to wear the face diapers. Pfizer is submitting data for an updated vaccine for children under 5 years old. The COVID-19 toddler shots are now a 3-jab regimen. Why? What for? Is it needed? It is good news that the moving average trendline is flat at 430K-ish cases per day for the last week but the big test is today's cases that will be known on Thursday morning. The world peaks at 595K cases on 11/29/22, last Tuesday, so as long as today's cases come in below 595K, the lower the better, the world will be back on the right path with cases heading lower and wave 10 a pig in a poke. If the world's cases are over 595K for any day this week, however, the globe will once again sink into the covid quagmire. Japan reports 90K cases for Sunday the first sub 100K number in a week. 169 Japanese are dying per day mainly old folks. Brazil is averaging over 29K cases per day but only reports 8K cases for Sunday. Peru's infection wave is parabolic at 11K cases per day; not good. The COVID-19 cases remain elevated in China including Hong Kong as the economy tries to reopen. The COVID-19 lockdowns, rules and restrictions in communist China are in flux and creating confusion. Most of the protests across China are snuffed-out by the police and military but time will tell if the easing of covid restrictions improves the mood. The natives are restless around the world.
Note Added Tuesday Morning, 12/6/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The US reports 17K daily new cases for Sunday and 22K for Saturday. We will take those numbers. The Thanksgiving holiday infection worries may be overblown. On Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend, last week, the Saturday and Sunday numbers were in the 30K's cases each day so it is fantastic news to see the cases lower this weekend when more infections from the event should be kicking-in. Sunday, 11/27/22, was a huge travel day as people returned home from holiday so counting 8 days forward places 12/5/22, yesterday, as a sweet spot for infections that still may appear. Thus, wait for the US daily new cases for Monday, known tomorrow morning, and today, known Thursday morning, before becoming excited that wave 8 may be deciding to spend more time with Godot (not arrive). The subtle pop in US cases may have to be named wave 8 but let's give it a few more days to see how things progress. Keystone, the Father of Technical Analysis for Epidemiology (t's okay, you can laugh), has previously mentioned about how there is a need for a rule to identify and number the infection waves. Examples would be if daily new cases were higher every day for a dozen straight days, or 15 days, or 19 days, or pick the number after you go back and study the all the prior wave's behaviors. Another possible rule would be if the 7-day MA rises for 10 straight days, or pick the number. For the potential US wave 8, the 7-day MA rises from 10/24/22 to 10/31/22 (pulling the numbers loosely off the chart). Then the 7-day ticked lower for a day, then started higher again 11/1/22 through 11/12/22, then ticked lower a few days then up 11/17/22 through 11/22/22, and now bumping sideways. The 7-day MA ran higher for 8 days then stopped in the first run. Then 12 days for the second run. Then 6 days for the third run. Looking back at US wave 4, a subtle wave, and again just pulling numbers off the charts, the 7-day MA ran higher for 3 or 4 weeks before flaming-out so that is 21 to 28 days. 'Perhaps a rule for identifying new infection waves could be if the 7-day MA for daily new cases rises for 17 (prime number) straight days; this constitutes a new infection wave and requires a wave number'. This is back of the envelope stuff but layed-out so budding epidemiologists and virologists can use this as a basis for studying the waves in detail in the months and years ahead. Since the 7-day MA did not rise for 17 straight days, in this example, the jury is out on wave 8. It is comical that as the pandemic progressed the last 3 years, different medical talking heads, including Fauci, started calling the waves differently numbers creating confusion. Some ignored wave 4 while others considered it legit. Wave 5? I thought it was wave 4? Wave 4? Aren't we still on 3? The pundits then stopped referring to the waves with numbers period. That's funny. They have no standardized rules to identify infection waves that all scientists can follow and remain singing from the same hymn sheet. What have these bozo's been doing the last couple decades? Drinking coffee and spewing wokeness? If you asked any of the medical talking heads how many COVID-19 infection waves the United States has had most would not know or guess incorrectly. Of course, all of you loyal readers in America and internationally would immediately say the US had 7 waves potentially going into wave 8 while the world is in wave 10. On the infection wave rule, maybe 2 weeks even would be good timing to identify a new wave; perhaps if the 7-day MA for daily new cases rises each day for 14 days. Just thinking, er writing, out loud. Something in the 13 to 23-day range may work. 13, 17, 19, and 23 are prime numbers and typically good numbers to pick for this type of thing (7 is a prime number used for the 7-day MA).

The global death rate has been steady for the last week at 1.1K covid bodies per day. China's China Virus cases remain elevated as the Western media cheers the relaxation of covid restrictions in the commie nation (due to the impact on the global economy). The CCP are filthy liars so do not hold your breath over the happy talk. Oil is trading flat unimpressed with China's announcements. Note Added Wednesday Morning, 12/7/22, at 7:00 AM EST: Japan reports 44K cases for Monday the lowest number in a month great news. Brazil's daily cases are at 31K per day. Peru's troubles continue and Colombia's cases are floating higher. Panama's infections continue higher. France is averaging 58K cases per day and Germany 27K per day. Italy's data reporting remains slow with cases averaging about 30K per day. Central Europe remains a big chunk of the world's cases. From a big picture perspective, the covid view of the world looks better today.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 12/7/22, at 8:00 AM EST: The US reports 21K daily new cases for Monday. Great news. The infections from Thanksgiving should be hot and heavy from 11/30/22 through 12/7/22 and the biggest daily cases occur on 11/30/22 with 66K cases but no biggie after that. It is fantastic news indicating that America's herd immunity (combination of vaccinations and natural immunity since over 80% of the population has likely had COVID-19 over the last 3 years) is keeping the potential US wave 8 at bay. The concern that the Thanksgiving holiday would create a big uptick in infections and start of wave 8 is unwarranted. The 7-day MA for US cases is at 34K cases per day. New York remains an outlier in the US reporting 6K cases for Monday. Something is wrong with New York State's covid data; they are overcounting cases either purposefully or due to stupidity and disorganization.
Note Added Wednesday Morning, 12/7/22, at 9:00 AM EST: Nature Medicine publishes a small study on the new booster shots by scientists at the University of Texas Medical Branch. The new booster shot is effective against BA5 that was already on its way out but not so much against BQ11 the dominant variant in the US. Big Pharma promises the world with their drug candy but the results rarely verify the initial information. The booster shots are also less effective against the XBB variant. It doesn't matter since Big Pharma gets paid the same.

The 7-day MA for the world's daily cases remains sideways at 433K cases per day. Japan reports a big 137K cases for Tuesday, 12/6/22, rivaling the peak high for the current infection wave at 139K on 11/30/22. Tomorrow morning, the 12/7/22 cases for Japan will be known to provide a direct comparison to the 139K. Japan accounts for 25%, or 1 in every 4, new COVID-19 infections on the planet. Peru remains in trouble with cases at 11K per day. Sacrebleu!! France goes to Hell in a covid handbag reporting 106K cases for Tuesday. The data is depressing today. 19%, or 1 in every 5, new COVID-19 cases are in France. President's Macron and Biden were yucking it up at the Whitehouse last week, enjoying gala's and parties, drinking fine wines, and snacking on caviar, as the French people take ill with China Virus. The big infection days after Thanksgiving are 11/30/22 at 67.4K cases and 12/1/22 at 61.0 cases. 12/7/22 and 12/8/22 provide a direct comparison to these peak numbers so the next 2 days (data is a 2-day lag) will tell the story for America going forward. Note Added Thursday Afternoon, 12/8/22: The US House signs a massive $858 billion funding bill for the Defense Department bill that includes a line item for the Pentagon to drop its jackass COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The bill goes to the Senate over the coming days where it is expected to pass and then it will be given to President Biden to sign. Grandpa Joe is in a conflict since he supports the vaccine mandate (and control over the great unwashed) but it appears that he will allow passage of the bill. The new booster shot may confuse some parents that are already confused about the COVID-19 vaccines. The Pfizer vaccine for kids 6 months through 4 years old is a 3-shot protocol with the first 2 shots 3 to 8 weeks apart and then the third about 2 months later. Let the confusion begin. The kids that have received all 3 initial Pfizer shots are not eligible for the new booster. If the child had 0, 1 or 2 Pfizer shots, the third shot can be the new booster. Moderna is a 2-shot protocol for the youngsters. The child is eligible for the new booster shot if the 2 initial Moderna shots were received 2 months ago or more. There is no serious sign of trouble in Texas yet except for a few northern counties, but the map is always at least a week behind. A lot of orange high-risk counties may appear in the southern Texas region in a few days when the CDC gets around to updating the map. The Navajo Nation infections have completely taken over the entire state of Arizona and continue causing trouble in New Mexico. The COVID-19 cases increase incrementally across all states which hints that the bump in cases is due to the Thanksgiving holiday and the herd immunity may save America going forward. Add on viral pneumonia and it is a 'quadrupledemic'. New York City health officials are recommending that folks wear high-quality masks indoors and in crowded spaces outdoors. The CDC is recommending masks for New York City and Los Angeles since the counties are experiencing high rates of infection from the respiratory illnesses as per the Community Transmission map. For COVID-19 transitioning into the endemic phase, the map should be mostly green (low-risk of infection) with small amounts of yellow (medium-risk) and nil amounts of orange (high-risk). The US is going in the wrong direction with 9% of the counties in the United States orange experiencing high rates of covid infections and 91% in the low and medium camp. A month ago, the orange high-risk counties were dropping below 3%. Also at play is the ongoing question on how well the various cases of flu, RSV, covid and viral pneumonia are reported in the data since they all have similar symptoms. Obviously, the focus is on the patients and getting everyone better. The data can be sorted out later.

Grant Wahl, an American sports journalist and soccer proponent, collapses and dies during the Argentina-Netherlands match. He had complained of a heaviness in his chest for several days and the medical staff in Qatar thought he had bronchitis. Social internet immediately leans towards the conspiratorial side with some folks saying Wahl was murdered due to his outspokenness and diligence in exposing corruption at FIFA. Others say his death was caused by COVID-19 vaccinations (myocarditis) which is why it is included and discussed in the Coronavirus Chronology. The tragedy is amplified since Wahl is married to Dr Celine Gounder that provides COVID-19 commentary and analysis over the last couple years on the democrat-controlled news outlets (CNN, MSNBC, etc..). Gounder is a vaccine proponent so the terrible event would take on a new meaning if he died of myocarditis which many would link to the covid vaccines. It is interesting that with the hours of news coverage rehashing the information over and over, not one news source releases information on his COVID-19 vaccination status. To be in Qatar at the FIFA games interacting with players and coaches, it is a given that he likely needed vaccinated. Did he receive his new booster shot recently? Inquiring minds want to know. Wahl was 49 years young and fit as a fiddle. He joins the list of many athletes and other young people in perfect health that kill over their only common thread is covid vaccinations. The mRNA vaccine circulates spike proteins in the body. The trouble likely occurs when the spike proteins cluster in one location of the body, such as the heart, causing myocarditis. The democrats diss HCQ and ivermectin every chance they get calling the latter animal dewormer (a different grade of ivermectin is used to treat worms and parasites in animals; there is nothing wrong with this since many medicines and drugs work on humans and animals) to denigrate its usefulness in treating COVID-19 and instead pimp the mRNA vaccines. The democrat tribe is not honest with the American people about HCQ and ivermectin. How do you think all those underdeveloped and third-world countries got through the pandemic without widespread vaccines? Yes, HCQ and ivermectin. Use your mind. Think independently especially these days when all the media you consume is corrupt to the core. It is difficult for humans to tell the truth. Keystone remains unvaccinated and took ivermectin (with zero side effects) during the prior wave outbreaks but everyone should discuss their own individual COVID-19 treatment options with their doctors and healthcare providers.
Note Added Sunday Afternoon, 12/11/22: US COVID-19 hospital admissions jump higher after the Thanksgiving holiday especially for the older folks although there is a hint at topping-out over the last couple days. The Thanksgiving holiday blip is working its way through the system.
Note Added Monday Morning, 12/12/22, at 4:00 AM EST: All eyes are on communist China to see if the relaxation of covid rules, lockdowns and restrictions will lead to a huge outbreak in cases and deaths. Some Chinese folks are choosing to stay isolated at home only going out as necessary which helps in tamping down a potential crazy outbreak. The coming days and couple weeks will tell the tale for China. Cities remain ghost towns for the most part so as usual what the filthy CCP says, and does, are two different things. The Chinese population are probably told they can move more freely but if they do so they may receive demerits in their social scores that the CCP institutes and tracks. The governments want to overrule and control the peasants no matter where you live. On WeChat, the top social app in China, people are told to 'take responsibility for their own health' and 'not to go out unless necessary'. At the same time, Chinese health officials are telling folks that COVID-19 is like the regular flu. Guangzhou hospital director Tang Xiaoping, a bigshot in the infectious disease sciences, proclaims, "The virulence of the new coronavirus (omicron) has now evolved to the level of seasonal flu, and some are even less virulent than the flu, so you really don't need to panic." The CCP told him to say that. It will be interesting to watch China's fate forward. In a perfect world, the Chinese people would remain 100% healthy but the CCP bastards would all get covid.
Note Added Monday Morning, 12/12/22, at 4:30 AM EST: The world reports 358K daily new cases for Saturday and the 7-day MA is at 470K cases per day. The peak day for wave 10, as revisions occur, is 650K cases on 12/6/22. Thus, the cases for tomorrow, to be known on Thursday morning, will dictate the covid fate of the world going forward. The COVID-19 cases worldwide need to remain below 650K each day this week to confirm that wave 10 is peaking and rolling over to the downside. Japan reports 136K cases for Saturday accounting for 38% of the world's new cases. Wow! 2 in every 5 new covid cases worldwide are on the island of Japan. Hopefully, they are not cooking up a new variant that will circulate the world. 200 Japanese are dying per day from China Virus. The government culls the elderly to remedy its aging demographics problem. The stubborn infection waves continue in South Korea, Australia, New Zealand (infection wave worsening), Taiwan (improving but cases remain elevated), Brazil, Peru, France, Italy, Germany and the US. It cannot be determined if their daily cases charts are topping-out until later in the week and on the weekend. The pandemic spawned in Wuhan, China, in 2019 stretches into 2023. Italian President Sergio Mattarella, 81 years old, tests positive for COVID-19 and isolates at home.
Note Added Monday Morning, 12/12/22, at 5:00 AM EST: The 7-day MA for US daily new cases is at 37K cases per day hinting that wave 8 may be short-lived. Unfortunately, the US active COVID-19 cases are at 1.6 million and 209 Americans continue dying each day from COVID-19. Sleepy Joe Biden is sleeping on the job when it comes to protecting older Americans. Instead of handling the pandemic which is what he was elected for, he pursues the misguided climate change agenda creating wild inflation and hard times. The covid caskets parade past Biden's window as he touts glorified golf carts (EV's) and tilts at windmills. New York reports 6K COVID-19 cases for Saturday. The state would be best served if they reassess their covid cases data reporting methodology and procedures. New York is likely overreporting covid cases. California cases shot higher last week but are retracing. The Thanksgiving Day holiday was enjoyed by friends and family across the United States but unfortunately, Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Johnny now have covid. The outlook remains optimistic that the daily cases for wave 10 for the world and wave 8 for the US should flatten-out and roll over in the days ahead. Japan and China are covid hotspots that need to settle-down if the planet has any chance of transitioning from pandemic to endemic.
