Keybot the Quant flipped to the long side at SPX 1146 at 11:51 AM EST a short time ago. The successful short ride from SPX 1324 on 7/11/11 is over. The algo gained over 13% and the actual trading percentage return via SDS is over 25% for that six week run. The robot's are smarter than the human's, they trade without emotion.
As always, watch out for a potential whipsaw for the algo, especially after such an epic run. Markets remain jumpy. For now, the bulls have wrestled back control of the broad markets. The utilities, UTIL, would not give up the 50 week MA over the last two days so the market bulls took the ball and started running.
