‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the US
house, the BQ and XBB variants are stirring, and sneaking around like a mouse.
US wave 8 is a small bump wave that is resolving; however,
the daily cases are starting to move sideways at an elevated level of ongoing
holiday infections. On the bright side, the cases are under control and no big
worry but the parties and family events are in full swing so there is a lot of
hand-shaking, hugging, kissing, singing and nose-picking going on in crowded
indoor settings.
The herd immunity (the combination of vaccines and natural
immunity in the population) is standing its ground and holding back a big
winter infection wave, so far.
On the negative side, from the pandemic perspective, the
United States is in the holiday season with families, relatives, coworkers and
friends gathering at events and parties. Hannukah is in progress, Christmas is tomorrow
and Kwanzaa and Boxing Day are on Monday. COVID-19 is in heaven. Young children
dream of the gifts they will find tomorrow morning under the Christmas tree
while China Virus the Grinch salivates at the fresh host bodies available this
festive season.
It will be interesting to see how many new covid infections
occur after the holidays mentioned. Six to nine days are a sweet spot for the
incubation period after an event so the last week of December and first 2 weeks
of January will tell the tale of the pandemic in the United States. So far so
good. Fall is in the bag and the first day of winter was Wednesday.
The US daily new cases chart is shown above. The 12/22/22
daily new cases released this morning (2-day lag) are very important to
determine wave 8’s direction forward. If the new infections are substantive going
forward, the new wave will be called either wave 9 or perhaps wave 8b and
changing the current wave 8 to 8a.
Since many folks will be visiting the same people they saw
at Thanksgiving, the incidence of infection may be lessened for the new batch
of cases likely coming. Everyone was already around one another, maskless and
hugging, four weeks ago at the Thanksgiving table. The new infections may be
less than wave 8 since the pool of host bodies is smaller. People got infected
after Thanksgiving and they are not going to get infected again.
If the United States can get to mid-January, 3 more weeks,
without cases jumping higher, the fear of a big infection wave for the winter
season is done and dusted. There is a great chance that it will work out this
positive way. It depends on the next 3 weeks.
Perhaps we can finally welcome the endemic phase of COVID-19
and Keystone can put the 3-year Coronavirus Chronology writing project, and
pandemic, to rest. One hundo Coronavirus Chronology articles is enough. Release
Keystone from these covid chains! Keystone never picked the pandemic to write
about; the pandemic picked him, so it will continue until the COVID-19 endemic
phase begins.
The daily new US cases for Thursday are 43K cases a
beautiful sight. Last week’s high was over 70K cases on Thursday, 12/15/22, so the
week-on-week comparison number dropping is great news. There will be revisions
but the cases should stay in the 40K’s. This news puts you in a good mood for
Christmas.
78K cases occurred on 12/2/22 the most for the current wave
8. Here we are, 3 weeks later and cases have inched lower each week; good news.
The Friday daily new cases will be known tomorrow morning so that is the only
piece of business remaining to make sure the cases are below last week’s 70K
high.
The 7-day MA for US daily new cases is at 50K cases per day
ready to drop into the 40K’s per day. It is interesting that wave 8 hit quick
after the Thanksgiving Day and weekend holiday but the cases were already
diminishing in the 12/10/22 through 12/14/22 time period. This is when wave 8
rolled over quickly but after 12/14/22, the cases are not dropping as fast as hoped
and instead moderating sideways.
After Thanksgiving, the sweet spot for incubation for the
current BQ11, BQ1 and XBB variants in play in the US is 6 to 9 days after an
event and 12/10/22 was 16 days after the Thanksgiving Day event. The incubation
period for COVID-19 remains in the 4 to 14 day period and some narrow it down
more to 4 to 10 days.
The eighth day was the past sweet spot where the daily new
cases would jump noticeably but the recent variants tend to punch faster with
the daily new cases popping strongly at the 6-day mark after a holiday or
event. Counting 6 days after Christmas is 12/31/22, New Year’s Eve.
The US active COVID-19 cases chart is shown above. The
active cases are trying to roll over lower at 1.9 million. The peak is nearly 2
million active covid cases on 12/18/22, last Sunday, so hopefully a roll-over
occurs and wave 8 can officially end when the bell shape forms.
The US daily new deaths chart is shown above. The Biden incompetency
continues with the US COVID-19 death rate remaining elevated all year long. The
7-day MA trendline remains flat at 317 dead Americans per day. Obviously, over
the last many months, the treatments, healthcare and vaccines are not getting
to the elderly, especially poor old folks, that are forgotten in America. Almost
4 in 5 covid deaths are Americans in their 60’s and older. Mother Theresa’s
methods are required (go into the streets to treat and comfort the ill).
The US death chart shows how the pandemic was over in
America in summer 2021 after wave 4. The covid deaths were flat or lower and
the cases and other data were falling like rocks. However, the mantra that
“covid is not over until it is over everywhere” bites Uncle Sam in the keister.
The new variants out of India and then Zimbabwe/Botswana/South Africa create
waves 5 through 8.
The new worry is that with China’s infections at millions
per day will create a new variant that will then encircle the globe again?
China (CCP) already infected the world once with the Wuhan Virus ruining
everyone’s lives for the last 3 years and now the communists may do it again
moving forward. The world has to keep a hairy eyeball on dirtbag Dictator Xi
and his CCP henchmen.
The good news is that the US covid deaths are not increasing
but the bad new is that the covid deaths are not decreasing either. The coffin
makers are penciling in a steady baseline business model of 300 caskets per day
through 2023 based on President Biden’s incompetence and failure at decreasing
the covid mortality rate. Such is America’s mediocrity, that was once
excellence.
Virginia’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Virginia
reports 2.8K cases for Thursday the highest for the new wave 8 and the 7-day MA
ramps higher at 2.1K cases per day. Virginia is where the big-mouth
politicians, lobbyists, lawyers, and other corrupt people reside, that work
inside the Washington, DC, beltway loop. The virus is obviously circulating due
to all their hot air.
Illinois’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Illinois is
trying to flatten the daily cases at about 3.4K per day. Sideways is better
than up. Chicago Mayor Lightfoot and Representative Ammons both test positive
for COVID-19.
New Jersey’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Daily new
cases for Thursday are at 3.9K testing 5-month highs. The 7-day MA ramps higher
at 2.8K cases so the state needs monitored closely like Virginia and Illinois.

discussion of the covid situation in the United States is provided.
The world’s daily new cases chart is shown above. The world
reports 579K daily new cases for Thursday and the 7-day MA is dropping at 538K
cases per day. The peak for wave 10 Is 713K cases on 12/13/22 now 11 days in
the rearview mirror so hopefully the top is in for daily new cases.
China is a COVID-19 disaster zone but the communists are not
providing useful data to the world. Japan is a covid Hell hole. South Korea
struggles at containing its outbreak. Taiwan recovered nicely over the last
couple months but cases are now rising again. Australia may be turning the
corner and improving but New Zealand struggles.
Brazil and Bolivia are battling new infection waves. France
and Italy are improving but Germany is flatlining with new infections. The
United States is working through wave 8 waiting to see how the new infections
stack-up after the current holidays. Other than that, things are going
swimmingly.
It is funny that the third-world nations and underdeveloped
countries with little or no vaccines, are in great shape now with negligible
cases but the developed nations, with much of the population vaccinated like
pincushions, are struggling. There are only a dozen nations above, out of the
200 on earth, that are holding up the planet from transitioning into the
endemic phase.

Tragically, 1.7K earthlings continue dying from COVID-19 each day. On the
positive side, the deaths may resume the downtrend going forward since the
daily new cases may have peaked 11 days ago.
Another positive is how the deaths no longer rocket higher
with a new infection wave like the red lines show for waves 1 through 6. Global
deaths were decreasing during waves 7 and 8 and now flat for waves 9 and 10.
The planet needs that last roll-over lower to get the covid death rate under
1.3K bodies per day which would verify that COVID-19 is entering the endemic
phase.
Japan’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Japan is a
covid Hell-hole reporting 207K cases on Wednesday the most for the current wave
and the 7-day MA continues higher at 160K cases per day. It is covid ugliness
the result of isolating the nation from the virus for 3 years but now the
pandemic piper must be paid. Commie China is a victim of the same fate.

Japanese die on Thursday only surpassed by 347 deaths on 9/3/22. The Japanese
elderly are dropping like flies. The 7-day MA remains parabolic at 265 deaths
per day. What a shame.
South Korea’s daily new cases chart is shown above. South
Korea’s infection wave worsens at over 67K cases per day. There are about 40K
US troops always stationed in South Korea mainly around Seoul so some of them
may be sick with covid.
Brazil’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Brazil is
trying to flatten its daily new cases with the 7-day MA trendline at 39K cases
per day. Brazil reports 44K cases for Thursday and 49K cases for Tuesday. In
the prior week, on 12/16/22, Brazil reported 65K cases the peak day thus far.
The jury is out until tomorrow morning when the Friday,
12/23/22, cases are known. This number must remain below 65K cases to verify
that the top is in for the daily cases infection wave for Brazil. Fingers are
crossed but the decadent flamboyant lifestyle and parties in Rio de Janeiro may
lead to more infections, even STD’s.
Bolivia’s daily new cases chart is shown above and they
receive covid coal in their Christmas stockings. Bolivia reports 3K cases for
Thursday, 12/22/22, the most for the current infection wave and the 7-day MA is
parabolic at 2.3K cases per day. Hopefully, the infection wave will be
short-lived like Peru.
The infection waves for Peru and Chile ran 4 weeks up then 4
weeks down with Peru’s downside still in progress. Brazil will slip into this
pattern if the top is last week since that will be 4 weeks up. Bolivia needs
another 1-1/2 weeks to top-out to fit that pattern of 4 weeks up.
Germany’s daily new cases chart is shown above. Germany is
trying to flatten its 7-day MA at 33K cases per day. The peak day for this
mini-infection wave, although 33K and more cases are substantive, is Monday,
12/19/22, at 55K cases. Thus, as long as the cases remain below 55K for all of
next week, especially for Monday, 12/26/22, the top will be in for the daily
cases for Germany.
Christmastime is a wildcard for more COVID-19 infections since
there will be a lot of kissing, hugging, singing, and comingling, going on. The
young German men in their lederhosen are powerless against the charms of the pretty
frauleins in their dirndl dresses.
China is a mess and the CCP will not provide reliable covid data
to analyze and chart. That is what filthy communists do; lie and play games.
That is why the China charts are never shown. At millions of cases a day in
China right now, the charts probably would not be of much use.
Dictator Xi and the CCP are letting covid rip through China
with pharmacy shelves empty of treatments, drugs and remedies. The sicko’s
cheer their good fortune that they can alleviate their aging demographics
problem and blame it on coronavirus. Old people are viewed as a burden in a
communist society so Xi and the CCP henchmen sing praise to the elderly death
rate.
The crematoriums cannot keep up. Hearses and vans carrying
the bright yellow body bags are cueing in lines around the block. Gray and
black smoke, the remnants of Chinese folk’s bodies, fill the air. The CCP does
not care.
Back in the States, the hospital admissions for COVID-19 spikehigher after Thanksgiving, then stutter sideways in mid-December and were
looking good for a retreat, but alas, the admissions now continue higher.
The holiday human interaction is creating more infections
and unfortunately, Grandpa and Grandma are ending up in the hospital. 75% of
the Americans croaking from COVID-19 are over 65 years old. It is disappointing
to see admissions rising since they typically lead hospitalizations by 3 or 4
days.
US COVID-19 hospitalizations are rising as expected because
of the hospital admissions rising. Hospitalizations are at 33K very
disappointing and the holidays are in full swing. Folks are traveling over the
hills and through the woods to grandmother’s house they go, but after they
leave, Grandma is going to the hospital sick with covid.
The CDC Community Transmission map worsens slightly with 89%
of the map green (low risk of infection) and yellow (medium-risk) and 11%
orange (high-risk). Six weeks ago, only 3% of the US counties were at high risk
and 2 weeks ago, 9% of the counties were high-risk. We are going the wrong way.
The orange needs to turn to yellow so the endemic phase can begin.
It is great to see Navajo Nation recovering. The map shows
the orange counties at high-risk dotted across many states. The BQ11, BQ1 and
now XBB variants may prefer these pocket areas and then the infections burn
themselves out in quick order.
The US vaccination rate remains weak at about 250K cases per
day.
The USA has the greatest number of total coronavirus cases
in the world at 102.2 million. India is next with 44.7 million total virus
cases. France, Germany, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Italy, UK, Russia, Turkey, Spain,
Vietnam, Australia, Argentina, Taiwan, Netherlands, Iran, Mexico, Indonesia,
Poland and Colombia round out the top 22 worst nations for total COVID-19 cases.
Over the last week, Taiwan leapfrogs Netherlands.
COVID-19 has infected 661.3 million people worldwide. China
(CCP) owes reparations to the world for its sick heinous crime against
humanity. 6.68 million people on Earth are dead from the China Flu. 633.9 million
global citizens have recovered from the virus.
96% (633.9/661.3) of the people that become infected with COVID-19
recover in a reasonable time frame. The percentage remains steady for many
months. Worldwide, 1.0% (6.68/661.3) of the people that are infected with covid
die; 1 in 99 (hit the 1/x button on your calculator). This number has not
changed for a couple years.
8.6% (661.3/7670) of the world’s population of 7.67 billion
people have been infected with coronavirus; 1 in every 12 people on earth. 0.09%
of the world’s population (6.68/7670) died from the pandemic so far; 1 in every
1,148 people on earth died from China Virus over the last couple years.
The latest census data shows that the world has crossed the
8 billion population milestone but the Coronavirus Chronology will continue
using the 7.67 billion number for calculations to remain consistent. With a
little luck, Keystone’s 3-year Coronavirus Chronology writing journey may end soon,
hopefully, maybe by Article 100 if US wave 8 and the world’s wave 10 cooperate.
In the United States, 102.2 million people have been
infected with covid. 1.12 million Americans are dead. 99.2 million Americans have
recovered from coronavirus. This equates to 97.1% (99.2/102.2) of US citizens recovering
after becoming infected with COVID-19.
Those are good odds especially when you look around and see
most people fatter than yourself. It is like you and a guy walking in the
forest and coming across an angry and hungry, a hangry, bear. You don’t have to
outrun the bear; you only have to outrun the other guy. Most of the COVID-19
deaths are old or fat people and heaven help you if you are old and fat.
COVID-19 is a pandemic of the elderly.
In the US, 1.1% (1.12/102.2) of the people infected with COVID-19
die. 1 in every 91 US citizens that are infected with coronavirus die. 0.34% (1/330)
of Americans have died from COVID-19 which is 1 in every 297 Americans over the
last 34 months.
31% (102.2/330) of the American population of 330 million
people have been infected with covid. That is almost at 1 in every 3 Americans.
The latest data and commentaries, even from the CDC is that 80% and maybe 90%
or more of Americans have been infected with COVID-19 over the last 34 months
(many positive tests and illnesses are not reported and some people did not
know they had covid).
The US is holding wave 8 at bay probably because of the
strong herd immunity in play (vaccinations plus natural immunity).
The United States has 15.5% (102.2/661.3) of the COVID-19
cases in the world. 2 in every 13 people that become infected with covid on the
planet are Americans. The US vaccination program made an impact month’s ago,
but not so much in recent months.
The US accounts for 16.8% (1.12/6.68) of the China Flu
deaths in the world. 1 in 6 people that die from COVID-19 around the world are
Americans. A couple years ago, it was 1 in 5 so vaccinations helped.
The Keystone Speculator Coronavirus Infection Rate Model,
the Keystone Model for short, is a simple model that predicts when the active
cases (bell-curve) chart will flatten-out and roll-over lower. The active cases
chart is the ‘flatten the curve’ chart that represents the maximum stress and
strain on the medical system and healthcare workers. Once the active cases

healthcare workers can breathe easier.

covid trouble spots around the world. At this stage in the pandemic game, the
period between a peak in daily new cases and active cases is 11 days.

the world and its link is provided. Many charts in the coronavirus series of

CDC COVID Data Tracker is another excellent source of information. The
Worldometer, Johns-Hopkins and CDC data track each other well.
The active cases curves are moving higher (hospitals are
seeing an increase in COVID-19 patients) for the 19 countries listed below.
Seven nations were on the bad country list 5 weeks ago, then 14 countries were
on the list 3 weeks ago, then 18 nations 11 days ago and now 19 countries. It
is lousy news to see the uptrend but the rate of rise in the number of
countries impacted by new waves is diminishing.

Australia remains challenged after 3 years of harsh covid
rules. Ditto New Zealand where PM Ardern is distracted by the climate change
follies instead of handling the pandemic. It is hoped that Brazil and Bolivia
are at or near their peaks in daily new cases. France and Italy are taken off
the bad country list since their active cases are rolling over heading lower
starting to form the coveted bell shape.
In additions to France and Italy, Peru, Panama, and Cyprus
are also removed from the bad country list. Taiwan is added. Germany’s
infection wave is trying to flatten-out. The US daily cases are trending lower
but the holiday season brings not-so-welcome yuletide greetings of more covid
infections.
Sweden is added to the bad list which may surprise many.
Sweden did a good job handling the pandemic perhaps the best in the world,
including keeping their schools open, but now a new mini-infection wave begins.
Sweden reports 2.7K cases the most since March except for one high spike day on
9/30/22. Sweden will have to be watched closely to see how the infections
develop.
The countries on the bad list are holding back the world
from making the transition from the pandemic to the endemic phase. The United
States is not on the bad country list since the active cases have curled-over
albeit only a few days. If the holiday infections are robust, and the active
cases begin rising again, the USA will be added to the bad list next time.
Other nations that are on the watch list include Russia,
Israel (the vaccine experts that experience infection waves like everyone
else), Philippines, South Africa, Eswatini, Denmark, Lithuania, Austria and
Croatia. Even if the cases pop for any of these nations, the bumps may be
short-lived. Sweden, Venezuela, Paraguay and Uruguay were on the watch list but
and now on the bad list above but the other nations in this paragraph appear
fine with no sign of increasing covid cases.
Infections are peaking or increasing in South America,
decreasing in Central Europe, out of control in Asia and flat or decreasing in
the United States.
The tripledemic of COVID-19, flu and RSV continues in the
United States but flu cases are abating. 75% of the ICU beds are in use in
America handling sick patients that have complications from one of the three
bastards. 79% of the hospital beds in the US are in use.
The shame of the pandemic, or one of the shames, is the loss
of trust in the medical community. The credibility of the medical profession is
damaged and that has led to a lower uptake in flu shots during a historic
record-setting flu season.
The peddling of misinformation and disinformation during the
pandemic by medical officials, television doctors and other healthcare talking
heads wearing white lab coats has created a lack of trust which now leads to
less flu shots and is likely a causal factor of creating more flu illnesses.

People do not care if a doctor or person in authority gets it
wrong. But they do want to see the person own up to it, explain what may have
occurred, and then announce the new path forward. People will move on and
continue to trust the doctors, pundits and process.
Instead, during the pandemic, medical people wanted to be
viewed as omniscient, always-knowing, above any scrutiny, and too king-like to
address any peasant questions or concerns, let alone admit to getting something
wrong. Many of the medical folks during the pandemic (not all) got it very
wrong (cough, ahem, Fauci, cough) but never acknowledged their missteps.
Instead of owning up to missteps, the officials in charge
are making excuses, blaming others and saying their words are misinterpreted.
When this garbage occurs, all trust is immediately lost. Many Americans went to
the school of hard knocks and can smell a dirtbag a mile away. If you buy
something off someone and they rip you off and will not return your money or
acknowledge that they screwed you, do you ever trust that dirtbag again? Of
course not. You label them as dishonest for life, as they are, and will always be.
The United States bad state list calls out all the states
with rising active COVID-19 cases. Infections are increasing in these states. People
are seeking medical care and the situation is worsening. New Mexico and Arizona
were the only 2 states on the list 5 weeks ago, then there were 15 states on
the list 3 weeks ago, then 37 states 11 days ago and now 33 states. That’s an
improvement.
The key takeaway is that the bump higher in cases for wave 8
remains small and manageable and not worrisome. Wave 8 is a nothing-burger but
the cases remain elevated due to the crowded holiday fun and parties and the
jury is out on how many new infections will appear after the holidays in the
12/31 through 1/13/22 period.
Focus on the daily new cases from 12/30/22 through 1/4/22.
If the US daily new cases are popping higher in this time period, the US is in
big trouble. However, if the rise in infections is subtle, or hardly
noticeable, America is in clover and will be singing happy songs through winter
into springtime.
The US cases that appear, or do not appear, 12/30/22 through
1/4/22, will tell the tale for America’s pandemic for Q1 (January, February,
March).

US wave 8 was created by the Thanksgiving Day and holiday
weekend infections and it is diminishing. The Christmas and other holidays are
in play now so another bump in covid cases is expected starting 12/30/22.
37 states were on the naughty list 11 days ago and now there
are 33 states. 8 states were removed from the list since their active cases are
moving lower but 4 states were added to the list; Missouri, Michigan, Oklahoma
and Connecticut.
17 states are viewing wave 8 as no biggie and ready to move
on with life; Tennessee, Minnesota, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Maine,
Alaska, Wyoming, Vermont, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, North Dakota, South
Dakota, Louisiana, Arizona and California.
As mentioned, the tell for the COVID-19 pandemic for Q1 2023
depends on the case numbers from 12/30/22 through 1/4/23. America’s covid fate
will be etched in stone.
America’s herd immunity is tested and it appears that a
passing grade will occur rather than a failure but the days have to play out to
see if the current holidays create a massive superspreader or a tiny little
bump in cases that will quickly subside.
The Coronavirus Chronology is using 8 metrics to assess the
pandemic to endemic transition and sadly the metrics are going in the wrong
direction over the last month. (1) The world’s daily new cases should be below
360K per day to claim endemic status and cases are now over 500K per day. (2) The
world’s daily new deaths should be below 1.3K per day and they are 1.7K so this
metric that was in the endemic camp, now returns to the pandemic side.
(3) For the United States to be in the endemic phase, the
daily new cases should be below or around 10K cases per day and are now at 50K
per day and dropping. (4) US active cases should be below 730K cases (at least
below 1 million) now at 1.9 million. (5) The US COVID-19 death rate should be
below 180 bodies per day now at about 300 souls per day.
(6) To declare the endemic phase in America, US hospitalizations
should drop below 10K patients and are now at 33K jumping higher after
Thanksgiving. (7) The CDC Community Transmission map should turn completely
green and yellow to usher in the endemic phase and 89% of US counties meet
these criteria with 11% remaining in the high-risk orange zone. The map has
deteriorated over the last 6 weeks as the weather cooled and people went
indoors spreading virus and now the holiday fun and parties are creating new
infections.
(8) Lastly, the public needs to accept that the pandemic is
over and this is already in the endemic column since most Americans have
resumed their normal lives and ignore the COVID-19 news.
There is a lot more work to do to declare the endemic phase.
Only 1, comically the last one, of the guidelines are in the endemic phase. There
is no progress over the last month in fact the US and world are losing ground
in the pandemic to endemic fight for several weeks. Like any battle, however,
there are fits and starts and the world can make better strides to the endemic
phase once wave 10 for the world is put to bed and wave 8 dies.
As per the CDC’s variant proportions data, XBB is coming on
strong challenging the BQ variants. BQ11 accounts for 36% of the new COVID-19
infections. BQ1 is 27% and the BQ’s together are 63% of all new cases.
Two-thirds of new covid cases in the US are BQ11 and BQ1.
XBB, that is doing damage in Japan, is at 18% coming out of
left field. XBB is a nasty little bastard jumping from 5% to 18% in the last 11
days; something is going on with XBB. The once mighty BA5 is now only a shadow
of itself accounting for 7% of the new cases. BF7 is at 4%. BN1 is 4%.
The BQ11, BQ1, XBB and BF7 are the bad actors at play trying
to ruin everyone’s 2023 before it starts.
The United States is hit with a winter storm and bitter cold
so some of the holiday parties and comingling that was planned will probably be
cancelled. Temperatures are bitter cold so it would be best if old folks stayed
home in the warm house. The young family can go visit them instead of having
them venture out. 5K airline flights were cancelled yesterday and 2K today with
5K delayed.
There are power outages in one-half the US states and in
some areas, people are stranded on roadways. The high winds are fierce. It isnot a night fit for man or beast.
The data around the Christmas holiday may be skewed or
delayed due to employees taking vacation time. The Whitehouse says Tamiflu from
the US national stockpiles is available if any states are short on supply.
The Twitter Files that vow to expose the scandal between the
NIH (Collins), Fauci (NIAID), EcoHealth, the Wuhan Labs, and others with gain
of function research, and the cover-up of the origins of COVID-19, have not yet

The endemic phase remains elusive. The pandemic should
improve going forward but China remains a wildcard. Scientists fear a new
variant developing in China and then the new bug circulating the world creating
another year of pandemic pain.

Brazil reports over 70K cases for Friday a higher high for the infection wave. The Chile and Peru infection waves ran one month up and one month down. Hope springs eternal on this Christmas Day that perhaps the 70K will represent the top in Brazil's infection wave going forward. This cannot be confirmed until next Sunday when the cases will be known for 12/30/22. Brazil's infection wave worsens. 282 Brazilians die from covid on Friday the most in over 4 months. The UK leaves the door open to again provide detailed modeling data should a new variant wreak havoc but the path forward is to start reporting covid data the same way other diseases are reported. The COVID-19 endemic phase arrives in the UK welcomed with open arms. Endemic is better than pandemic.

Pfizer's Paxlovid is being distributed to community centers in China. Some Paxlovid was made available from other outlets in China and the drug immediately sold out. Hotez says the new booster vaccine provides protection against the XBB variant that is coming on strong in the United States. One-half of the new COVID-19 cases in New York are XBB. The three main strains at play in America are BQ11, BQ1 and XBB. Dr Hotez calls them the "scrabble variants" since their letters are high point values in the board game "Scrabble." As per the CDC, 36% of the new covid cases are BQ11, 27% are BQ1 and 18% are XBB. The three together account for more than 4 of every 5 new COVID-19 cases in America. Hotez stresses that people need to take the new booster vaccine and he is concerned that "Americans are not getting that message." Dr Hotez emphasizes that if you test positive for COVID-19 and "if over the age of 50 to 55... get Paxlovid." The Whitehouse and CDC remain disappointed in the low US vaccination rate.

Considering the COVID-19 outbreak consuming the mainland, investors and traders are surprised that China announces the easing of restrictions. Chinese hospitals are overwhelmed. The CCP is requiring retired nurses and doctors to help treat the COVID-19 patients and current staff must work even if sick with covid. Japan and India will require proof of a negative test for people traveling from China starting 12/30/22. Ditto Italy that now requires a PCR test for anyone traveling from China effective immediately. Countries are worried that commie China will once again send a new pathogen around the world.

It is great news as the wave 8 infection pimple pops with cases heading lower. US wave 8 is only a small bump in new covid cases so fingers are crossed that the new infections coming in the days ahead will be the same or less and the US and world will finally march hand and hand to the endemic promised land. Most importantly, the US active cases keep slumping over to 1.85 million so the curve is starting to form the coveted bell shape to prove that the infection wave 8 is being defeated. 189 Americans continue dying from China Virus each day. It is great to see the death rate coming down but the jury is out if the trend lower will stick because the data may be underreported during the holiday period. Note Added Tuesday, 12/27/22, at 6:00 AM EST: Airline flight cancellations continue across the United States due to the severe winter weather over the last week. 70% of the cancellations are at Southwest Airlines now dubbed, "Southworst." Stranded travelers ask, "What is the difference between COVID-19 and Southwest Airlines?" Covid is airborne. Southwest officials claim they are at full staff levels. That's a lie. Lines at airport counters go on forever with one clerk up front frantically tapping the keyboard complaining that the computer is slow. Obviously, there is not enough staff. The winter weather is a factor but there are likely lingering effects of the COVID-19 forced vaccinations at play. The airlines have lost thousands of employees due to the garbage mandatory vaccines. At the same time, the airlines have created tens of thousands of disgruntled employees because they were forced to kneel before their bosses and have mRNA serum injected into their bodies against their will. It is guaranteed that the airlines will have problems for a long time forward as workers seek retribution against their airline masters for the mandated vaccines. President Biden is a liar promising to never impose vaccine mandates on Americans until he imposed vaccine mandates on Americans. Airline employees are calling off sick during peak holiday periods, working less productively, purposely breaking tools and other parts and perhaps introducing gremlins into the legacy software systems that control the schedules for the boarding crews. It's called payback and "payback's a bitch." If you screw people, some of them will screw you back ten-fold. Much of the trouble at the airlines industry-wide is self-imposed because of the jackass vaccine mandates that were forced down worker's throats. Thousands of employees that loved their jobs but were then forced to kneel before power and receive injections into their body against their will now hate their jobs, hate their bosses and do not care if the airlines lose money or go bankrupt. Biden and worthless Vice President Harris, that is supposed to be handling the crisis but refuses to be proactive with the horrible situation, desire an open border policy thinking that the new migrants will all become loyal democrat voters. The ruling adds a new layer of confusion to Biden's border crisis. Officials, landowners, sheriffs, border patrol agents, journalists, migrants, smugglers and cartels are assessing the Title 42 ruling and each of their paths forward in the sad border saga. Each day, thousands of migrants are crossing the porous southern border like sports fans walking through turnstiles. Biden and Harris don't care because their policies created the mess. The US Supreme Court is nine judges with 6 in the republican camp and 3 in the democrat camp. Interestingly, the Title 42 ruling is a 5-4 decision. Justice Gorsuch breaks with his republican colleagues and sides with the 3 democrat judges. Gorsuch is the only justice that exactly explains Biden's southern border crisis and the Title 42 saga. Gorsuch's intelligent dissent reads, "The only means left to mitigate the (border) crisis, the States suggest, is an order from this Court directing the federal government to continue its COVID-era Title 42 policies as long as possible--at the very least during the pendency of our review. For my part, I do not discount the States' concerns. Even the federal government acknowledges 'that the end of the Title 42 orders will likely have disruptive consequences'. But the current border crisis is not a COVID crisis. And courts should not be in the business of perpetuating administrative edicts designed for one emergency only because elected officials have failed to address a different emergency. Taiwan announces that travelers from China via airplane and boat will now be screened for COVID-19 with a PCR test. Malaysia is also testing arrivals from China. The United States is considering increased testing measures for travelers entering the US from China. If the US officials are going to implement new measures, they better do it immediately because China's outbreak is already spiraling out of control. Americans yawn; instead asking when the big football game is on television today and what time the New Year's Eve party starts on Saturday night. Keystone is going as Baby New Year and plans to put on a show that everyone will remember. Don't worry; he will also be wearing red Speedo's. The Whitehouse and CDC continue to try and boost the US vaccination rate. Pfizer is hawking their vaccines in television and radio commercials. The data show that young people are steering away from taking the COVID-19 booster shots. Most feel the jabs are not needed. Like all scientists, Murray hedges his comments saying a mutation still can occur opining, "I think it would be unwise for us to just assume that all the variants re going to be like omicron." Murray is focused on hospitalization data that indicates the severity of the covid infection waves. The CDC says 53% of the new COVID-19 infections in the New England states are the XBB variant. The variant percentages in the US remain the same as listed in the article above. 36% of the new covid infections are BQ11, 27% are BQ1 and 18% are XBB. The 18% number requires a hairy eyeball over the next couple weeks. The WHO says XBB is not as severe as other strains but the latest data indicates that the variant may be slightly more transmissible than other variants. The cases during these days will dictate the US path ahead for January and February. 220 Americans continue dying from China Virus each day. Note Added Friday Morning, 12/30/22, at 5:00 AM EST: 13 former Allegheny County employees (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA) file a lawsuit claiming that the county did not properly address their religious beliefs, medical histories and natural immunity when denying their covid vaccine exemptions. The workers were fired 12/1/21. Hopefully, they will win the lawsuit and make sure the vaccine mandate garbage is shoved down the official's throats. Americans do not have a problem with taking proven vaccines that have been in use for many years and decades. But forcing people to kneel before power to inject experimental mRNA serum into their bodies is unforgiveable. The jury remains out on the heart problems (myocarditis) and blood-clotting issues appearing in vaccinated individuals. Young people, such as the CNN producer the other day, and many others, including young viral athletes, continue killing over out of the blue. Does the ends justify the means? Covid is generally not a high risk to young people that probably would be better off without the shots but each family has to meet with their doctors and chart the best path forward for their specific situations. The medical profession has lost credibility and public trust during the pandemic due to their misinformation, disinformation and half-truth's, so people are best served if they seek multiple opinions on medical matters going forward before making important health decisions.

As predicted, they both reverse course and join other countries in requiring covid tests for travelers from China. Stupid compromised people are in charge everywhere always promoting their political agendas instead of doing what is right for their people. Is there any hope remaining for the world? For decades, France is the butt of jokes about always being quick to wave the white flag of surrender. If an important question faces the world, do not look for the answer in France because all you will find is wine, baguette and cigarettes. Taiwan reports 2 days of daily cases at 28K with the 7-day MA ramping higher at 23K cases per day. A new infection wave is underway and gaining upside momentum in Taiwan. Bolivia reports 3.1K cases for Thursday the most for the current infection wave the most cases in over 4 months.

The daily cases over the coming days will tell the tale on the extent of the new holiday infections. The major focus is the 6 to 9-day incubation period from Christmas Day that opens the infection window between 12/31/22 through 1/4/23 and the cases will be known 1/2/23 through 1/6/23 (2-day data lag). It is going to be interesting to see if Santa Claus brought along COVID-19 in that bag of toys a few days ago. Keystone got coal in his stocking again this year. Global scientists are now differentiating the XBB variant family as the initial XBB, XBB1 (XBB.1) and XBB15 (XBB.1.5). The Coronavirus Chronology simplifies the variant names for ease of readability. The CDC reports that 41% of the new covid infections are XBB15, 27% are BQ11, 18% are BQ1, 4% are XBB, 4% are BA5, 2% are BN1, and 2% are BF7. The XBB variant was 18% a week ago which was a substantive jump higher as the article above explains, but the XBB bug now leaps into first place. The XBB and XBB15 bugs together are 45% of the new covid cases in America almost one-half. The BQ variants were 63% a week ago and are now down to 45%. BA5 drops from 7% to 4% over the last week. BF7 drops from 4% to 2%. Ditto BN1 from 4% to 2% over the last week. XBB15, the XBB lineage, is the king of the covid hill right now. The vaccines and Evusheld are not as effective against the XBB strains. Japan is battered by XBB and the COVID-19 deaths are the deadliest numbers of the pandemic but the island nation isolated itself from the world for over 2 years completely lacking natural immunity. Note Added Saturday Evening, 12/31/22: The CDC says 30% of the COVID-19 cases result in long-covid. Come on, now. Really? So the CDC wants everyone to believe that there are 60 million and more Americans walking around with long-covid? 1 in 5 Americans? Long-covid is real but 10's of millions of Americans sounds like a stretch. The medical profession has lost serious credibility during the pandemic. As mentioned a few times in the Coronavirus Chronology, the drumbeat of long-covid and heart attacks increase in the democrat-controlled media (CNN, MSNBC, broadcast and public television, New York Times, Washington Post, etc...). Don't buy it. The CDC, Big Pharma and the Whitehouse are likely concerned that an increase in heart attacks and heart issues are occurring and will increase over the next couple years. Maybe they plan to blame long-covid for future heart issues (to detract from the vaccines)? If you hear this dribble, do not believe it. Hopefully, there will be a zero statistical difference in heart attacks and ailments over the coming months in America. This will be met with a collective sigh of relief by all Americans. If not, however, and heart attacks and ailments noticeably increase, know that it is the vaccines at the heart of the issue, pun intended. Why is everything so dishonest nowadays? Because that is the way humans are wired. The spike protein from both vaccines and infections, that enter the cells, that can break through the body/brain interface, is likely the cause of long-covid, especially neurologic issues, but there is much research needed. The long-haulers are trying to get on with their normal lives. People would be well served if they immediately started eating healthy and taking vitamins and supplements including the B vitamins, C, D-3, zinc, selenium and turmeric. In addition, melatonin will help with sleep problems and give your body proper rest and time to repair itself.

Morocco and Canada are added to the growing list of nations requiring covid testing or other scrutiny of travelers from mainland China. Communist operatives continue complaining about the new rules targeting travelers from China but the countries are simply doing what is necessary to try and protect their people. If a new COVID-19 variant is spreading around the world, screening passengers on a few airplanes will do nothing to halt the virus. It is important, however, to perform genome sequencing on travelers that test positive since China will not provide data on their current outbreak. Comically, a jackass laboratory has tested 1,000 samples of Chinese folks and proclaim that all is fine. If you read the fine print, the samples were provided by the CCP that already knew how the samples would test. The labs must collect the samples themselves to provide a true representation of the variants at play. All this said, China is dealing mainly with a BA5 variant outbreak, and some BF7, that the world has already seen (think natural immunity). As of today, there is no big covid variant worry emanating from China. Several countries imposing covid testing on passengers, such as the United States, are delaying the implementation a few days which makes zero sense. The genome sequencing to detect new variants must be occurring now, in real-time, not starting in a few days. The testing of passengers from China should also be performed directly before or after the flight. A covid test a couple days before hand will be meaningless. Alas, the human idiots remain in charge of the chaotic and confusing pandemic. The bottom line is that the out-of-control infection wave occurring across mainland China right now does not pose an additional threat to the world. The communists need to be more forthcoming about their genomic testing but they will not because they are communists.

The global covid death rate remains stubbornly high at 1.4K souls per day. COVID-19 is a pandemic of the elderly. Japan's terrible infection wave continues with the XBB variant wreaking havoc. Note Added Sunday Morning, 1/1/23, at 6:00 AM EST: Good news from Brazil that reports 41K daily new cases for 12/30/22 which is one week past the peak day for the infection wave on 12/23/22 at 70K cases. This indicates that Brazil's infection wave has peaked and the daily cases will continue lower from here. The 7-day MA for Brazil's daily new cases rolls over lower to 27K cases per day and dropping. It is welcome news especially since 337 Brazilians died from covid a couple days ago the deadliest day in 5 months. Italy reports 30K cases for 12/28/22, last Wednesday, their latest data point that is a substantive spike in cases. It is nothing to worry about yet, but hints that the days ahead may not be good for Italy. The two airplanes laden with infected COVID-19 passengers from China received international attention a few days ago.
Note Added Sunday Morning, 1/1/23, at 7:00 AM EST: The United States reports 30K daily new cases a great number since Friday's data is typically big numbers. The 7-day MA for daily cases is down to 29K cases per day at sub 30K cases per day! Baby New Year is delivering happy covid news on this first day of 2023. US wave 8, which turned out to be a pimple, is clearly over with the average daily cases falling below the levels from October and November. The infection incubation window is now open after the holidays. If the COVID-19 cases increase, and XBB15 poses a new risk to Americans, it will be known over the coming days. Infections would be noticeably higher beginning tomorrow through next Friday which will be reporting the daily new cases for 12/31/22 through 1/4/23. It is tricky since there may be some underreporting of cases due to short staffing during the holidays. After becoming intimate with the pandemic over the last couple years, the Friday cases were a big concern and to see the daily cases come in at 30K is very good news and hints that if a new US wave 9 starts over the next few days, it will be on par with, or less than wave 8. If China can get a handle on things, also Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Bolivia, Italy and Germany, the planet may be able to put the pandemic to bed early this year. Interestingly, Israel has plans to declare an end to the COVID-19 pandemic at the end of this month. A German official speaks off the record saying that COVID-19 is now in the endemic phase. 2023 begins on an optimistic upbeat vibe sans China and Japan. Cautious optimism abounds.

Fauci's last day was yesterday so he is finally out of the picture, retired, although the stink will linger. It will be interesting to see how he and Dr Colins defend themselves for funding gain of function research at the Wuhan Laboratories through the third-party middle-man EcoHealth Alliance. Fauci should have retired 20 years ago. Some people don't know when to walk away. They stick around too long and their legacy becomes stained and tarnished. People only tend to remember the last things that happened. Myron Cope, the long-time Pittsburgh Steelers football announcer, the inventor of the Terrible Towel, which helps charities including his handicapped daughter, told his fellow announcer Bill Hillgrove to be honest and tell him if he thought he was losing a step with the play by play as he aged. Steeler fans listening to the football broadcasts knew Myron was making mistakes but no one cared since he was such a class act and loved by western Pennsylvanians, but Myron knew. After a Sunday game, Bill stopped over his house and Myron knew what was on his mind. Bill said it is time and Myron agreed retiring two days later. Of course, he went on to do other great things but his announcing career was over; it was time to retire. Fauci never had a dear friend like Myron did.

Qatar joins the list of nations that are imposing covid testing requirements on travelers from China. The world reports 300K cases for Saturday and the 7-day MA is at 423K cases per day. A celebration will be required when the 7-day MA trendline drops below 400K cases per day. 1,378 earthlings die from covid on Saturday. It will be a great day when the global China Virus death rate drops below 1.3K souls per day. It sounds like a broken record but the infection waves continue in China (including Hong Kong), Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Bolivia, Brazil and Germany. France is improving quickly and no doubt a big reason for the slight pullback in the world's cases the last few days. Italy's data is a few days behind.

Let's work harder, persistence means victory, and unity means victory." Xi acknowledges the disruptions to daily life and challenges in handling the COVID-19 pandemic and decrees that the new policies are now "optimized" for success. Comically, Xi starts his speech by saying, "Comrades."
Note Added Monday Morning, 1/2/23, at 8:00 AM EST: The US daily cases are not yet released for Saturday so we are left hanging as to whether an initial pop higher occurs in US infections after Christmas. The 7-day MA trendline for US cases is down to 28K cases per day. 173 Americans continue dying from COVID-19 each day but that is better than 300 or more. New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, and a few other states require close watching but the United States is looking good with wave 8 yesterday's news. The caveat is the incubation infection window after the holidays that is now open. If COVID-19 cases are going to jump higher it will be in the coming days. The media is in a tizzy over XBB15. Remember that XBB may be dominating America's covid infection pie these days accounting for the most slices, but at the same time, the overall size of the pie is getting smaller each day.

The school district managers, afraid of their own shadows, are shaking in their boots, thinking that infections will explode higher after the holidays. They make the stupid mask recommendation despite knowing the harm that is caused to children's educational, emotional and mental development. America needs smarter people to teach the kids. In fairness, the school administrators say no child would be turned away that did not want to wear a mask. There is your answer. If people want to wear a mask, or 5 masks, that is great, go for it, no one cares or will make fun of you, but do not expect the same from others. Masking, like heroin, is so passe, as the Dandy Warhols sing.
